This was a last resort. No one had expected the Cloud Ninja to deploy two Tailed Beasts on the Konoha battlefield, attempting to overwhelm the Konoha ninja with overwhelming force and advance into Konoha's heartland.

"Your Excellency, let me meet you. Hidden Shadow Serpent Hand."

Countless snakes emerged from the ground and coiled around Orochimaru's body. Orochimaru then unleashed pale blue flames that burned all the snakes to death, thwarting Orochimaru's attack.

Orochimaru, a Kage-level ninja, possessed top-tier taijutsu and ninjutsu skills among Kage, and was at his peak, making him exceptionally strong. He wielded the Kusanagi sword and fought Matatabi to a standstill.

"No, go back."

Akimichi's voice echoed throughout the battlefield. Orochimaru turned his head and saw the Eight-Tails raising its head to condense a huge Tailed Beast Ball. Orochimaru thought to himself.

He wanted to stop it, but how could he let him have his way? The Tailed Beast Ball was aimed directly at Konoha's camp, where the wounded, medical ninjas, and military supplies were all located. If the Tailed Beast Ball hit, Konoha would lose this battle.

The three Jonin, Ino-Shika-Cho, were dumbfounded. Orochimaru was powerless to help and could only watch helplessly as the Tailed Beast Ball was launched towards the Konoha camp.

No sooner said than done, Carrot deliberately used the momentum from A's punch to get between the Tailed Beast Ball and the camp.

"Carrot, get out of the way!"

Matsushita Hokuto saw Karot facing the Tailed Beast Ball and hurriedly called out. However, Karot didn't react at all.

Carrot's expression hardened, his legs slightly bent, and his hands formed a cross. Suddenly, starlight burst forth between his palms, and a powerful aura instantly appeared in his hands. Carrot then shouted.

"Kamehameha"

"ah."

Carrot unleashed a massive energy beam from his hand, colliding with the Tailed Beast Ball. As the saying goes, the left side loses in a battle of energy blasts; Carrot's Kamehameha sent the Tailed Beast Ball crashing into the Eight-Tails' mouth.

"boom"

The Eight-Tails was blasted away by the Kamehameha.

Chapter 36 The Death of Eight-Tails

The commotion on the battlefield was astonishing; the ninja's nuclear weapon, the Eight-Tails, had vanished.

"Compare."

Ai shouted and his figure flashed several times as he ran towards Killer Bee.

Killer Bee lay on the ground, coughing up blood. If Carrot's Kamehameha hadn't been blocked by the Eight-Tails, Killer Bee would have died. The situation was dire; Killer Bee was barely breathing, like a candle flickering in the wind.

"Bi, are you alright?!"

Looking at his younger brother covered in blood, Ai felt extremely distressed. Although the two brothers' way of getting along was quite violent, it was a unique way for two muscular straight men to interact.

"Uh, uh, big brother, the Eight-Tails is dead."

After saying this, Killer Bee fainted.

These words struck A like a bolt from the blue: the Tailed Beast was dead. A stared in disbelief at Carrot, who remained in his Kamehameha stance.

"Retreat, everyone retreat."

"A gave the order," Karot commanded. Karot's attack was so devastating that even the Cloud Ninja feared being attacked by him. Therefore, they wholeheartedly agreed with A's command. "Even tailed beasts can't withstand it, let alone us mere flesh and blood." The retreat was incredibly swift.

Konoha commander Orochimaru, to prevent the Cloud Ninja from setting an ambush, halted the Konoha ninja's pursuit. Although the Cloud Ninja retreated, this was not the time to strike while they were down. The Cloud Ninja were superior to the Konoha ninja in both quantity and quality. It was only because of the Eight-Tails' situation that the Cloud Ninja retreated. To find out more about the Eight-Tails, they would have to ask Karot.

"Carrot, how much longer are you going to hold this position?"

Orochimaru, who had come to obtain information about the Eight-Tails, asked in bewilderment. The surrounding ninjas also looked puzzled.

"Lord Orochimaru, my body is frozen and I can't move."

Carrot was completely terrified when he used the Kamehameha for the first time. No wonder it's a move capable of blowing up the moon.

Orochimaru summoned ninjas to carry Karot back to the Konoha camp. To those unaware of the situation, it seemed Karot had suffered severe injuries.

The usually composed Nara Shikamaru looked as if he'd seen a ghost. While he'd guessed the Eight-Tails would be harmed, he never imagined Karot would kill it. That was a Tailed Beast! Everyone knows Tailed Beasts can only be sealed; now you're telling me a Tailed Beast can be killed?! There couldn't be more shocking news!

"Are you sure?"

Nara Shikamaru asked again.

“I think what Carrot said is true. After the Eight-Tails was knocked away, I couldn’t sense its presence at all, so there’s only one explanation: the Eight-Tails is dead. That’s why the Cloud Ninja chose to retreat.”

Orochimaru spoke up from the side.

"hiss."

The ninjas present gasped. Orochimaru's senses wouldn't be wrong; Karot had indeed killed the Jonin. "A living legend indeed! Thank goodness he was a Konoha ninja," was the sentiment of every Jonin present.

"I have already requested reinforcements from the village, and they will arrive soon. During this time, all units must remain vigilant and not let their guard down."

"Yes."

"Carrot stays; everyone else, dismiss."

Only Orochimaru and Karot remained in the tent.

"Carrot, that's not a bloodline limit, is it?"

Orochimaru said with certainty. He had investigated all the information about the Hatake clan and found that the Hatake clan did not have any bloodline limits.

"Yes."

Carrot knew he couldn't hide it for long, and now that he had the ability to protect himself, he simply stopped hiding it.

Orochimaru asked.

Carrot extended his right hand, and a ball of light composed of gas floated in his palm.

Orochimaru stared at the sphere of light with delight. This was a completely new power—the power to kill tailed beasts. This Orochimaru wasn't yet the Orochimaru who would stop at nothing to achieve immortality. At this stage, Orochimaru still wanted to learn all the ninjutsu in the ninja world.

Carrot's power is a completely new power system; the challenge is to prevent him from becoming obsessed with it.

Carrot also had his own selfish motives. He valued Orochimaru's mind as the greatest scientist in the ninja world and wanted Orochimaru to build him a gravity chamber for training, as ordinary training would have very little effect on Carrot.

All night long, Carrot and Orochimaru had a pleasant conversation. Many of Carrot's ideas gave Orochimaru a brainstorming session. Nine years of compulsory education were not for nothing. Although he didn't understand the specifics, his partial understanding of the theories provided Orochimaru with some direction.

Carrot also reached his wood, and Orochimaru will help him research the gravity chamber.

Having not slept all night, Carrot pulled open the tent and stretched. A passing ninja respectfully greeted him, "Lord Carrot." This filled Carrot with immense satisfaction; he had finally been promoted to the rank of "Lord."

Life on the front lines was incredibly monotonous, with occasional minor skirmishes, and overall, the outcome was mixed. Carrot's life consisted mainly of missions and training, but whenever the Cloud Ninja saw him, they would turn and run away, leaving Carrot utterly speechless.

"You said you saw other ninjas fighting to the death, but when you saw me you turned and ran away. Isn't that discriminatory treatment?"

If Yunren heard this, he would probably be even more upset.

"Boss, you can even kill tailed beasts. We Karami are just trying to make a living, we're not stupid."
