Karot is a man who is seven parts unreasonable, and he is determined to make Kakashi recall his past memories.

Kakashi looked at Sakumo Hatake with pleading eyes. Only Sakumo Hatake could change Karot's mind now, and Kakashi didn't want the news of him being beaten up by his brother to spread throughout Konoha.

Even seeing Kakashi's pleading eyes, Sakumo Hatake couldn't remain unmoved. If he knew it would turn out this way, why did he indulge in his verbal sparring? After all, they were his sons.

"Never mind, Carrot, your brother is a man of pride too."

"Alright, for Father's sake, I'll remember this time."

Kakashi breathed a sigh of relief, knowing he had passed the test. How did he end up with such an older brother? He wished he had been born first.

"Snapped."

A book suddenly fell out of Carrot's arms; it was the one Jiraiya had given Carrot at the restaurant.

When Kakashi spotted the book cover, his heart immediately raced. He couldn't be mistaken; this was the latest edition, which had been advertised for so long before finally going on sale.

Carrot calmly put the book back into his pocket.

"Brother, can I borrow this book to read?"

Kakashi's attitude was incredibly kind; he practically worshipped Korot. Sakumo Hatake was also surprised; was it really worth it for just a book?

"I'm a little thirsty."

Kakashi immediately placed a cup in front of Karot, picked up the teapot, and began pouring tea.

"Please, brother."

Kakashi has been drinking tea with Sakumo Hatake for so long that he has learned most of the essence of it.

"Ah."

Karot held up his cup and drank Kakashi's tea. After finishing, he saw Kakashi's longing gaze.

"Here you go!"

When a man looks at you like that, it gives me goosebumps.

"Father, I'm going to rest now."

Carrot greeted Hatake Sakumo and then stood up.

"By the way, Father, Kakashi always reads these kinds of books. No wonder he's never gotten married."

After saying that, Carrot quickly left.

"Kakashi, let me see the book."

Upon hearing Karot's words, Sakumo Hatake reached out to Kakashi, demanding something.

"Damn it, Carrot, you've dug a huge hole for me!"

Kakashi cursed Carrot in his mind, he should have known Carrot wouldn't let him off so easily. Unfortunately, he didn't have a Flash.

Under Sakumo Hatake's watchful gaze, Kakashi had no choice but to hand over the books he hadn't even had a chance to warm up.

Sakumo Hatake's eyelids twitched the moment he saw the title, and Kakashi's heart skipped a beat. Sakumo Hatake valued the Hatake family's reputation more than his own life, and now his youngest son was reading such a book! Kakashi's anger flared instantly. Staring at Sakumo's expression, Kakashi knew he was doomed.

But I can't be the only one suffering.

"Father's book is a card..."

"enough."

Sakumo Hatake slammed his hand on the table, and Kakashi immediately swallowed back what he was about to say. Sakumo Hatake had selectively forgotten that the book was brought back by Carrot. He had previously assumed that even if his youngest son couldn't make the Hatake family powerful, he wouldn't do anything to disgrace the family.

The result was that he was blind to what was right under his nose; right before his own eyes, Hatake Sakumo felt that his educational campaign had been a failure.

"Kakashi, come to the training ground tomorrow. I want to test your strength."

Sakumo Hatake got up to go back to his room, and Kakashi, thinking the evening was over, breathed a sigh of relief. Unexpectedly, Sakumo Hatake turned back and took the book back.

Kakashi looked at Sakumo Hatake with a puzzled expression, wondering why he had done this.

"I'll keep this book for now. You'll have to kneel at the ancestral hall tonight. Humph."

Sakumo Hatake is truly gone, and Kakashi is heartbroken. His father and brother treated him this way—it's painful! But Kakashi can't disobey Sakumo's words. In the end, he obediently went to the shrine and knelt before a bowl of rice. He cursed Karot in his heart all night.

Meanwhile, our instigator, Carrot, was completely uninvolved and had a good night's rest, sleeping soundly until dawn.

As Carrot came downstairs, he saw Kakashi limping in.

Good morning, Kakashi.

Karot greeted Kakashi.

"good very good."

Kakashi, recalling his ordeal, glared at Karot with a stern expression. He'd been kneeling all night, and then received a physical lesson from Sakumo Hatake early the next morning. It was a double torment, both mentally and physically. Karot's return immediately presented him with such a gift; no wonder he was his older brother.

"How could you be so careless? Come here, let your older brother help you treat it."

Without waiting for Kakashi to react, he pulled him to sit facing him. He placed his hand in front of Karot, his palm pressing against Kakashi's forehead.

Kakashi felt a warm current flow through his entire body, making him feel warm and comfortable.

"awesome!"

Kakashi couldn't help but call out.

"Wow, that smile of yours is easy to misunderstand."

Karot thought to himself, but he didn't stop treating Kakashi. After all, you have to give a sweet treat after a slap. Otherwise, he'd be resented.

"That's a wrap. How did it go?"

"Very comfortable."

"Of course, I mastered this trick with great difficulty, and I wouldn't use it on just anyone."

Carrot said with an arrogant air.

"By the way, judging from your appearance, you've suffered quite a bit."

"you……"

Carrot had already run away after saying that, and Carrot was left speechless with his hands raised.

Chapter 139 Obito's Inflated Wives

Let's go for a walk together!

Karot approached Kakashi and extended an invitation.

"Okay!"

Although Carrot had teased them earlier, that's how the two brothers get along; they'd be fine in no time.

"This place has changed so much!"

"Yes, the Fourth Hokage did a very good job. He was a qualified Hokage."

Orochimaru has contributed a great deal to the development of Konoha in recent years, earning Kakashi's praise. Sometimes Kakashi wonders if his teacher could have done even better than Orochimaru.

Konoha's economy is thriving now, and the villagers' incomes are vastly different from before, resulting in Orochimaru's consistently high approval rating. Even if Orochimaru wanted to abdicate, the villagers wouldn't agree.

"No, your brother has a very good eye for people. He could tell at a glance that Orochimaru-senpai could be a good Hokage."

"Carrot said smugly."

Kakashi looked at the delighted Carrot with utter contempt.

"Don't I know you? Your heart is full of evil. You only support Orochimaru because of the help Orochimaru gave to my father in the past."

Kakashi wouldn't say anything to spoil Karot's fun; he was quite petty after beating his brother.

"My father seems to have aged a lot in the past few years!"

When Carrot returned home, he noticed that Sakumo Hatake looked much older.

Kakashi stopped. He didn't turn around. With his back to Karot, the large tree blocked the sunlight from shining on him.

"Yes, Father would go to your room every night after you finished your work, and he did this every single day from the time you left until you came back."

Kakashi's words were filled with envy for Carrot. Carrot was the object of Sakumo Hatake's affection, and although Sakumo loved him too, he was clearly no match for Carrot. After Carrot unleashed his talent, Sakumo Hatake consistently nurtured Carrot's strength towards becoming the clan leader.

"Oh okay!"

After hearing Kakashi finish speaking, Carrot thought of Sakumo Hatake's disappointed look every time he didn't see him in his room, and felt very sad.

"My father still looks quite healthy, but signs of aging are starting to appear. He thought I didn't know, but Lin is a doctor at the hospital!"

The profession of ninja inherently involves overdrawing one's physical strength, not to mention that Hatake Sakumo had experienced two Shinobi World Wars, and his body was already riddled with injuries and illnesses.

"This time you're back, you shouldn't be leaving again, right?" Kakashi asked, leaning against a tree with his right hand.

"I won't leave, I'll stay here forever."

"That's good. Now it's your turn to take care of Father."

"Kakashi, what are you doing here?"

A loud voice interrupted the brothers' conversation.

Still as energetic as ever, the newcomer is none other than Kakashi's close friend, Uchiha Obito.
