“I am your father, Karl El.”
The smart projector paused for a moment before continuing.
"At least it's his consciousness, his projection. My name is Joe Al."
“Karl El, is that my name?”
Clark felt a sense of unreality. The answer he had been searching for for nearly twenty years was finally within reach. The thought of seeing his own father again made him open his mouth, unsure where to begin. "I...I have so many questions."
“My son, there’s no need to rush.”
I will answer all your questions.
Joe Al spoke with a kind and patient look in his eyes.
"We have plenty of time."
……
"I found it, Mom and Dad."
In the evening, a cool autumn breeze swept across the farm.
At the dinner table, Clark, who had taken a couple of bites of food and unconsciously smiled, suddenly said...
"what?"
Jonathan, the father, paused, holding his spoon, and looked at his son with a puzzled expression.
After handing the lamp ring over to the Atlanteans to study the charging problem, David returned home and saw Clark looking at him with an unprecedented joy and peace in his eyes, and he knew what Clark was talking about.
"Thank you, little brother."
After thanking David, Clark turned to his parents and explained with delight.
"My people, my parents, I know my origins now!"
Jonathan was taken aback.
Martha gaped, seemingly caught off guard by the astonishing news.
"Wow, that's...that's really great."
As she spoke, she became somewhat silent, as if she wanted to ask something but dared not speak.
"What's wrong, Mom and Dad?"
The dinner table fell silent, leaving the delighted Clark somewhat puzzled.
“That’s good, Clark.”
You've found your origins, you've found a place to belong.
Jonathan, who never smokes, suddenly felt the urge to light one up for some reason. He patted his pockets, but found nothing, which made him feel a little lost, and his voice was muffled.
"Mom and Dad, you don't need to worry."
Clark isn't going anywhere.
After that curt remark, the couple remained deeply disturbed by the sudden news, unable to calm down for a long time. David reassured them not to worry.
The son, whom they had adopted for twenty years, suddenly found his hometown and his family. His next step would inevitably be to return to his hometown, to that distant alien planet, to return to the place that rightfully belonged to him.
But Krypton is long gone, reduced to cosmic dust.
"My home planet has been destroyed by a core explosion."
My biological parents also died in that explosion.
From Joe Al, Clark learned the answers to all his questions, such as who he was, why his parents separated from him, and why he was launched to Earth.
"The only thing they did before they died was to launch me to Earth, saving me from disaster."
"Don't be sad, child. Although I have never met your parents, I can imagine that they must be a great couple."
Martha stood up and hugged her somewhat sentimental adopted son, gently stroking his head. Jonathan looked into Clark's eyes and comforted his eldest son.
……
Inside a NASA space station in the United States.
"General Swann Wick, I think you must take a look at this."
The tall, imposing, and composed Black general was anxiously led into the room by the department head. On the large screen in the room, an unidentified flying object was floating near Earth's orbit.
"What is this, Doctor?"
Comet or asteroid?
"Comets don't correct their orbits, General."
Swann Wick's gaze swept over the technicians in the room; each of them wore an expression of unease.
After all, the last thing that visited Earth from space not long ago was no good; it almost turned the people of an entire city into skeletons.
"It's so huge that even amateur astronomers can see it through a telescope. I have to inform you before it causes panic."
The person in charge said nervously.
Have you tried contacting them?
Swan Wick, who had lived in the human world for many years disguised as a human and risen to a high position, narrowed his eyes.
Black, cold, and hard, it exudes a sense of iron-bloodedness; it seems to be a Kryptonian-style spaceship.
"We sent a signal, but they haven't responded yet."
The person in charge sounded slightly flustered when this was mentioned.
Sometimes remaining silent can also convey an attitude, such as contempt or disdain.
At the very least, flying a spaceship to a planet belonging to another race and ignoring their friendly greetings and inquiries doesn't seem like visiting someone's home.
What does it want to do?
A spectacular landing? Or... someone looking for someone?
Swann Wick recalled the young Kryptonian who had recently learned to fly and was soaring over Metropolis.
“Be prepared, Earth may be facing a challenge.” He turned and gave the order.
……
After dinner, as usual, her mother, Martha, washed the dishes.
The father and his two sons sat on the living room sofa watching TV.
On screen, a fierce rugby match is suddenly interrupted as an urgent news report is broadcast.
A picture of a spaceship near Earth's orbit was shown. The host, looking flustered, interrupted to announce the shocking news he had just received: a technologically advanced alien civilization's spaceship had been discovered near Earth's orbit. Before he could finish speaking...
Father Jonathan sat up straight, stunned.
“That’s…that’s Krypton’s fleet mothership.”
Clark recognized the spaceship at a glance and was somewhat surprised.
The vision of his father Jor-El did not say that Krypton was destroyed and that all Kryptonians died in the explosion except for him.
"Zod did come after all."
David raised an eyebrow.
At the dinner table, after hearing Clark recount what happened after he started the spaceship in the Arctic, he had anticipated this scene, but he hadn't expected Zod to arrive so quickly.
"Are they so eager to reclaim the Codex of Life and rebuild Krypton?!"
Zizizi!
With a hissing sound, the house suddenly went dark.
"power cut?"
Martha dried her wet hands and walked out of the kitchen, puzzled. She then saw that the television was malfunctioning, with static and a single sound playing on repeat, as if it were being calibrated.
"You are not alone."
The father, Jonathan, took out his phone, and even the phone screen was playing this message.
"You are not alone."
"It's a global signal intrusion."
Clark listened intently for a moment. Television stations from different countries and regions were broadcasting the same message in different languages. He sat up straight in shock, realizing who the "you" in the message referred to.
"Could it be that I am not the only Kryptonian to survive in the vast universe?"
"Son, is that spaceship looking for you?" Jonathan asked in surprise.
“It should be…yes.” Clark’s expression turned serious. He instinctively looked at his brother and reminded him in a strained voice to prepare for battle.
“David, we may need to prepare.”
"Don't you want to say hello to your fellow countryman who has come from afar?" David said.
After meeting his father, Clark seemed to have matured a lot, becoming less impetuous and understanding the preciousness of his life and the mission he bore.
"Jor-El sent Clark to this planet, hoping he would guide this new race, similar to the Kryptonians, as they took their first steps on Earth, leading them through potential calamities and becoming a symbol of hope."
