Ultraman Legend of the Light Chaser

Sōsuke Fujisawa nodded his head so hard it was like it was on vibrating mode.
As long as it's not about burying yourself in memorizing and copying, you can do anything!
Especially when visiting other departments, apart from dealing with the local police station staff, everything else is great, isn't it?
Fujisawa Sousuke readily agreed, and Aiba Yu immediately went to the canteen area that the logistics department usually occupied, intending to contact them to take in a very fit helper.
The person in charge of repairing aircraft in the equipment maintenance room had tears in his eyes: "In our most difficult time, we actually had a good colleague like you who sent fresh troops!"
"Difficulty?" Aiba Yu blinked.
"The weapon interfaces reserved on the Flying Swallow are going to come in handy," someone in the equipment maintenance room whispered. "That's why we've had so much work lately, and several of us have already fallen ill!"
The burly man, who used wrenches, welding machines, and circuit boards as his livelihood, had tears in his eyes: "Going out to deal with monsters is like a countdown to the engine's lifespan. They only know that high maneuverability and high angle of attack are cool, but they don't understand our important engine—it's only been manufactured for a short time and is still a child, yet it's already rushing toward its scrapping date!"
"I knew high maneuverability and large angle of attack were cool!" he repeated emphatically.
Aiba Yu said, "Then you'll welcome him. He hasn't had a chance to go solo yet, so this job is kind of like an internship for him."
"Ah, developing a bond with fighter jets, I understand, it's like a soldier sleeping with his rifle," the person in charge exclaimed, "How romantic and poetic!"
Aiba Yu felt that the person in front of him had a rather peculiar hobby, but he still had to say the polite words. This was the secret to the air force's ability to get along with everyone at TPC: "Then I'll trouble you to make sure that he and the fighter jet... get to know each other better."
Fujisawa Sousuke watched nervously as the captain and logistics personnel talked. The captain had his back to him, and to his left, the person in charge of aircraft maintenance gave a thumbs-up.
"Just take a look!"
Leave a note just in case you have to work overtime.
The handsome author has already updated, while the dog-like author is still working overtime.
Quite a few students have read this book, brothers. Don't come here to do human affairs after you graduate.
What does it mean to always have a light on for you in the middle of the night? (Tactical lean back)
You might not be there when we go out having fun, but you'll definitely be there when things get chaotic during inspections.
I'm not going to ramble on anymore. If I can get some writing when I get home, I'll just leave this note here.
Chapter Seventeen: The Observer of Yan
"Stop looking, it's none of our business if you're tempted," said one of the logistics staff.
In the equipment maintenance room, Fujisawa Sousuke, who was punished to help maintain the fighter jets, squatted below TPC-β with a skilled senior worker.
The renovation room where they were located was situated on higher ground, and through the transparent glass embedded in the walls, they could see the "valuable assets" stored in the largest workshop in the middle.
Flying Swallow 1
Sōsuke Fujisawa recognized it. The first time he saw its graceful flight through the sky, he was completely captivated—pilots always covet excellent aircraft, let alone the Flying Swallow, the pinnacle of technological achievement.
But as the experienced senior worker said, no matter how light it is, how fast it takes off, or how strong its acceleration, it is not for them. Fujisawa Sousuke can't even board the TPC-α, and the senior worker next to him doesn't have the skill to repair the Flying Swallow.
"Can't I just take a look? I rarely even had the chance to see it before." Fujisawa Sousuke felt a lump in his throat. He loved the way it looked like a real swallow cutting through the clouds.
Fujisawa Sousuke first saw it one spring.
At that time, he had just joined TPC and barely made it in. His academic score was the lowest among all applicants in his year. He only managed to salvage his remaining dignity through the physical fitness test. As the saying goes, no one with the highest written test score could beat him, and those with better written test scores were all rejected and relegated to obscurity.
With an almost pilgrimage-like mentality, he walked lightly into the TPC Far East headquarters, head held high just like the other newly recruited employees.
As the identification machine called out their names one by one, and a mechanical voice said "Welcome," Fujisawa Sousuke felt like a promising, almost successful person who had grasped his dreams and a bright future. He imagined that his future news appearances would be prefixed with "young and promising" and "dedicated to the cause of peace and human development."
But this mindset was quickly shattered.
The proud young man saw an even prouder "swallow".
Back then, the Flying Swallow No. 1 was still an experimental aircraft. It emerged from the clouds with its delicate "beak" and suddenly plunged into the sea with the sound of wind and thunder.
At that time, it had not yet been painted a striking yellow; it retained only the simplicity of the testing machine—it was the same color as the protective coating.
The silver-gray wings traced a huge arc over the base before raising the angle of attack to a frighteningly high level, making it appear as if it were about to stall. Yet, it maintained its altitude, soaring high like a real swallow before plunging down sharply, drawing a wave of peaks and valleys reminiscent of an electrocardiogram.
Sōsuke Fujisawa's heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of his chest.
Later he learned that the "swallow" was actually called Flying Swallow, the treasure of the entire TPC, the most cherished "asset" of the Equipment and Repair Room. One square centimeter of its structural shell could buy an apartment in the city center, truly making every inch of its "feather" worth its weight in gold.
"I want to fly a plane like that," he thought to himself.
So, the new recruits who were assigned to the ground guard unit were admitted to the air force a few years later.
—This made him a "living example of traitor" within the ground guard.
Even when less than a third of the 15 people who joined TPC with him remained, he still hadn't gotten close to that "swallow" (referring to a promising young player). He was rejected every time the Victory team recruited, facing setbacks time and time again, but he never gave up.
Yota Watanabe, one of the last remaining students in his class, advised him, "Don't go. Although it's not written in the conditions, everyone knows they only want top students. Putting aside how bad your exam paper is, even if your overall grades are in the top tier, why would the GUTS team turn down a young and highly educated genius and accept you?"
"How long have you been in the air force? You haven't even mastered flying the trainer aircraft yet, have you?" Yota Watanabe said. "What level was that ace pilot who went to the GUTS team? We all watched that test when we first joined TPC. We didn't feel anything at the time, but now that I think about it, he must have been flying at least Mach 4."
He held up four fingers, waving them around, which annoyed Fujisawa Sosuke: "Our own fighter jets can only reach Mach 2 at most. In the same amount of time, or even less, to suddenly accelerate to Mach 4, what kind of person can withstand that kind of G?"
Yota Watanabe's estimated speed was much lower than the actual speed of the Hyuga-1.
It wasn't until the new captain joined the air force that Sousuke Fujisawa learned it was a monster aircraft with a speed of Mach 6.
"Who are those people up there?" Fujisawa Sousuke blurted out in shock, "Anyone who can pilot it must be a monster!"
Then he saw the captain smile: "If you joined the company in the spring of the fourth year of TPC's establishment, then... I was on that Flying Swallow test aircraft."
He was speechless for a long time. On the second day after the new captain joined, Fujisawa Sousuke seemed to have unintentionally offended his superior with a bad adjective.
……
Fujisawa Sousuke snapped out of his reverie and said to the logistics guy, "I've been eliminated by the GUTS team several times and I thought 'this is probably it,' but then Captain Aiba came, and I felt hopeful again—as long as I stick close to him and get him to teach me more."
The logistics guy muttered under his breath, "I can't remember the names of the people on the Victory team, but I remember you. We've opened a betting pool to see if you'll be eliminated when the Victory team recruits again next year."
Fujisawa Sousuke choked for a moment.
He turned around without a word: "So, are you betting on whether to pass or not?"
The other person rolled up his fallen sleeve, looked up to reveal a sweaty face, and gleaming front teeth: "I bet they won't hire anyone next year."
“Those idiots think the Victory Team is like the three squads under the police department, with several groups, but I have inside information,” the logistics guy said. “Ayako told me that the Victory Team has asked them to clean up all the remaining dormitories and prepare for renovations—meaning they don’t plan to recruit any more people.”
Fujisawa Sosuke felt something choking him, blocking his airway, but he wanted to find out more: "Who is Sister Ayako?"
The logistics guy looked at him like he was a fool: "I already said that cleaning the dormitory is done by the cleaning staff, of course it's the cleaning lady, Sister Cai Zi."
"Oh," after a long pause, Fujisawa Sosuke turned his face away, continuing to drag the heavy connecting cable, his eyes fixed on the "swallow" below: "If you won't confess, then you won't confess, anyway I..."
He saw a person in a red and white uniform walk into the hangar of the Flying Swallow No. 1.
It's that Daigo Masato.
"Anyway, I'm going to be stronger than that damned Victory Team!" he said. "I'm going to become an ace pilot, so good that they'll offer me a job, like the captain, and then I'll ruthlessly reject them!"
The logistics guy nodded knowingly: "Love turned to hate."
“I call this high morale!” Fujisawa Sousuke got goosebumps from the sticky adjective: “Anyway… once I’ve learned all of the captain’s skills, first of all, I need to be granted permission to pilot the TPC-α.”
"Should we change the betting odds to 'You'll be allowed to go solo within three months'?" The logistics guy was very loyal this time: "I'll bet on you."
Fujisawa Sousuke was moved by these words and was about to express his gratitude.
“Then let Sister Aya bet on the other side, and we’ll split it in half,” the logistics guy said confidently. “You’re coming too? It’s hard to divide among three people, but for the sake of our friendship…”
"Should I deliberately fall short in the qualification test? I guarantee I'll win against everyone who can't pass?"
The logistics guy shook his head repeatedly: "We can't fix matches, that's professional ethics, and the same applies to our betting operations."
"Thank you so much."
"Dirty old man!" Fujisawa Sousuke was so angry his teeth ached. He cursed the captain for choosing such a good punishment. It not only tormented his body but also broke his spirit. In this cold and ruthless world, only the Flying Swallow still had some warmth.
As long as I can see it, even the toughest days will be bearable...
"What's the captain doing here!" He darted to the windowpane, practically sticking his nose to it.
It seems that Daigo Masaki is also helping with logistics, while the captain, the captain of his air force team, is handing a stack of books to the GUTS team members!
They're talking! They're having a very pleasant conversation!
That guy from the Victory Team looks like he's smiling!
The logistics guy glanced at the man grinding his back teeth, then craned his neck to get a clear look at the scene in the hangar below, and then looked at Fujisawa Sousuke with a look of sympathy.
Chapter 18 Extracurricular Study Materials
"Why did you..." Daigo took the book from Aiba Yu.
"I couldn't find you at the Victory Team's base. They said you came to repair the Flying Swallow?"
Daigo was a little embarrassed.
Head: "Because I chased after a 'tourist' who entered a dangerous area, I forgot the safety rules and ended up getting myself into trouble, and I even missed the battle with the monster... So the captain punished me by making me do hard labor."
Between words, he looked down and carefully examined what Xiang Yeyou had brought—several large books, and he wondered how long it would take to read them.
"What you gave me is...?" He stared at the large characters on the cover, stunned: "An Illustrated Guide to Ancient Creatures?"
He continued flipping through the pages and found that he had put together all sorts of seemingly unrelated things: "Introduction to Human Biomechanics," "Introduction to Plasma Physics," "Introduction to Anatomy," and so on.
Daigo thought to himself that plasma was alright, but listening to Horii and Shinjo, who had been celebrating like it was a holiday these past two days, he learned that the Flying Swallow would soon be equipped with a new weapon developed by the Equipment Development Center, and its firepower was promising.
But what do monsters, ancient creatures, and anatomy have to do with each other? Are they supposed to stab monsters with knives? That's something the Life Science Research Center should be doing. It's not surprising that Aiba Yu handed over a new flight logbook, or even the development records of the Flying Swallow; why give him something like this all of a sudden?
“The GUTS team needs to deal with monsters, you can use this,” Aiba Yu said, pulling out a memory card. “These books are borrowed from the library, and the time limit is 3 months. Remember to renew them if you haven’t finished reading them. Also, if Munakata and Shinjo are too busy to train combat classes, you can contact the Air Force.”
