The new form Samuel acquires at the end of the book, as described in the text, is called "double illumination." Double illumination continues, shining in all directions.

It can be understood as a new form reconstructed by mixing the power of slimes with the armor after it was shattered into pieces, and it is also the final form of the armor at the end of the second volume.

This volume has many small plot holes.

For example, when Kinoshita Kei rode his bike back to the apartment with Onodera Hitomi, he mentioned the amulet his grandmother had wrapped around him. That amulet was actually a core component for activating the transmitter later on. His grandmother thought it was a keepsake left by Kinoshita Kei's family and let him carry it with him.

When Lucifer was convincing the commander of the Rim of the Pacific, I wrote about the plaid shirt he wore. Later, when Kinoshita Kei was rummaging through his things in his dormitory, the plaid shirt was soaking in the sink. Also, Kinoshita Kei never appeared at the same time as the person convincing the commander. After the person in the plaid shirt appeared, Kinoshita Kei would usually reappear after just waking up.

When Kinoshita Keiko mistakenly identified his cousin as Uranus, the name Uranus in that chapter was always in quotation marks.

The next volume and some side stories.

The next volume will, of course, be about Ultraman Tiga; the plot hole from 30 million years ago has been laid out for a long time. The matter of the "Great Demon" hasn't been addressed yet. As for the issue of combat power… in the second and third volumes, I want to write about things that even overwhelming force can't solve; you can see some of these in Samuel's letter in the afterword.

Well, this book has been a process of exploration for me as well.

On one hand, I'm trying to break through the parts explained in the TV series and extend into new worlds. The plot development of the first volume didn't actually deviate from Xiaomeng's TV series. In the second volume, I started to fill in scrapped cases. The third volume directly transitioned to the future universe fusion movie. So I also want to write something different for the fourth volume.

If fan fiction simply follows the main plot, or only adds a subplot to the main story, I personally might be a little disappointed.

On the other hand, I'm following the protagonist's growth to explore the true core of Tsuburaya's Ultraman series over the years, or rather, what it is that moves me.

I don't want to just write a story about leveling up, fighting monsters, and endlessly chasing bosses around.

Volume 4 - The Journey - TIGA

Chapter 1: The Rookies of the Victory Team

Daigo followed Tetsuo Shinjo into the core area of the TPC Far East base.

Members of the Department of Transportation rarely had access to such classified information, and everything about it seemed novel to him.

The core building has a circular shape, with a huge open space inside. Xincheng said that the things inside have not been moved in yet, and they will be able to see them in some time.

Daigo craned his neck, looking left and right, unsure whether to look at the magnificent buildings on the outside or at the crowds moving through the corridor—mid- to high-ranking officials, researchers, and fully armed security guards, all of whom seemed to be professionals, especially some with a powerful aura who practically had the word "elite" written on their faces.

This put him under a lot of pressure.

As a new member of the GUTS team, there was so much for him to learn. He wasn't as knowledgeable as Nozue and Horii, nor was he an ace pilot like Rena. Shinjo, who was in charge of getting him familiar with the environment, was also very capable, not to mention Munakata, the commander who came from the Defense Force.

“The probationary period is six months,” he recalled what Captain Megumi had said: “You have to grow into a qualified team member within six months. If you really can’t keep up with the pace… we will send you back to the transportation department.”

Being rejected is more than just embarrassing; he'll probably be so ashamed that he'll choose to resign!

Daigo looked down at his feet.

...Even the floor was spotless!

The mirror-like ground faithfully reflected his image; the newcomer in the Victory Team uniform, even wrapped in such clothes, could not hide his disorientation.

They walked step by step, their rubber soles clicking on the gleaming floor.

Suddenly the leg in front of him stopped, startling Daigo. He immediately stopped and looked up.

A patrol of heavily armed soldiers was walking towards them. While Daigo was considering whether to give way, the other side had already turned and made way for them.

The leader saluted Xincheng and him, speaking with great respect.

Yes, those selected for the Victory Team are all elites among elites. No matter how uneasy Daigo may feel, he is a formidable figure in the eyes of others.

But Daigo didn't notice this; his gaze remained fixed on the guns in the soldiers' hands, following their path to the side.

"TPC is the Earth Peace Alliance. Even the GUTS team doesn't have weapons, so why are they..." Daigo wondered to himself.

As the patrolling soldiers marched away in orderly steps, Shinjo said, "They are the police force. Even in a peace organization, key members and departments still need protection—the world is at peace now, but there still need to be police on the streets."

“So they have guns and cannons,” Daigo heard a hint of envy in his voice, “and escort fighters, although our Flying Swallow is stronger… sigh, the Flying Swallow only has signal flares.”

"Police station?" Daigo followed him further inside.

"Commander Yoshioka's subordinates, one"

"A serious old man, like the commander, also came from the defense force," Shin-chan said. "The police department was basically reorganized from the defense force's structure, so it has maritime and ground guard units, as well as an air force. If we're a special forces team, then they're the regular army."

“I’ve heard of that,” Daigo said, having also heard about TPC’s internal structure when he was in the Transportation Department: “A team targeting…extraterrestrial beings?”

“Hmm,” Shinjo nodded, “That was also the original intention of TPC’s establishment. The Victory Team is the sharpest knife to face them. Ah, aren’t you afraid of UFOs?”

"How could that be? I've seen them before!"

"That's good."

Two members of the Victory Team bypassed the corridor.

Through the outward-facing glass, you can see the sunlit deck.

A sea breeze caressed the ground, which was made of special steel, as a silver airplane detached from the boarding bridge and slowly glided toward the takeoff track.

[Good afternoon, control tower. TPC1, taxiing A.]

[TPC1, continuing its taxiing journey...waiting at hold point 3.]

The bustling activity at the Far East headquarters was directly reflected in the transponder of the control tower. In the cockpit of TPC1, two pilots watched as the planes ahead of them were being blown about by the sea breeze.

"The wind is a bit noisy today." The young co-pilot rubbed the teru teru bozu (a Japanese doll made of teru teru bozu) in his hand and then stuck it to the side of his seat with a "snap".

The little gadget with a magnet stuck in the back of his head is a favorite of the co-pilot—and if the flight goes smoothly today, it will continue to be a favorite.

TPC1 was Director Sawai's private plane. From the moment he stepped off the boarding bridge, his life and safety were tied to this aircraft. The co-pilot couldn't help but be nervous, especially since the crosswinds over the sea always caught him off guard.

"If this crashes," the co-pilot clicked his tongue, "the director, Staff Officer Nan Yuan, the information department and researchers, and our pretty flight attendants... they're all doomed!"

"You really need to watch your mouth," the captain's voice suddenly interrupted.

The co-pilot immediately restrained his tongue and teeth.

The aircraft was already on the runway waiting for takeoff when the transponder relayed a call from the control tower: "TPC1, ground wind 330,7 m/s, runway 2L, cleared for takeoff."

According to flight regulations, the pilot needs to repeat the data given by the control tower. The co-pilot immediately responded: "Received, ground wind 330, 3 m/s, runway 3L, TPC1."

The control tower choked for a moment.

He felt the captain's gaze sweep over him like a knife, moving from his mouth to his throat. If he had a physical form, he would probably have been stabbed in the throat by now, and then dragged out of the cockpit by a cute flight attendant, gushing blood.

“Repeat, surface wind 330,7 m/s, runway 2L,” the co-pilot’s eyebrows drooped. The control tower cleared the way, and he explained to the captain, “My notes are all correct, I just misspoke, I misspoke.”

The captain pulled the control stick, and the roar of the engines accompanied the slowly receding scenery as the plane moved to the takeoff runway.

The high-ranking officers in the cabin were unaware of the misunderstanding in the cockpit; they were talking quietly in the background of the captain's announcement.

【Dear passengers, this is Captain Yu Aiba of TPC1. Our destination for this flight is Oslo, the European branch.】

"Has the Victory Team's induction ceremony concluded?" TPC Director, Soichiro Sawai, asked, pulling over the seatbelt. "Which young man passed the selection?"

Staff officer Masayuki Nanbara knew that he was keeping an eye on the Victory Team's movements, especially the transportation department members he had recommended: "The roster and test results are here."

The estimated flight time is 15 hours and 39 minutes, and the flight distance is 13912 kilometers. The aircraft is about to take off. Please fasten your seatbelts.

Director Sawai locked the buckle, took the document handed to him by Staff Officer Nanbara, and smiled broadly when he saw the name and photo printed on it: "Daigo, I knew he could pass the test."

The roar of the engine grew louder and louder, and every passenger was pressed against their seat back by an invisible force. The base buildings moved away rapidly, and the moment the sea appeared beneath their feet, the Silver Eagle took off.

Chapter Two: Thunderstorm

“Recently, we’ve discovered more and more traces of extraterrestrial civilization activity. This time, our trip to the European branch, besides the technical exchange regarding the Flying Swallow, also involves gathering feedback on a series of bills concerning extraterrestrial life.” Director Sawai returned the Victory Team data to Staff Officer Nanbara. The plane had completed its climb, and outside the window was a sea of clouds.

Thick, heavy clouds stretched from the Boso Peninsula all the way to the Sea of Japan.

"It's cloudy at Far East headquarters, but the weather forecast for the European branch is sunny," Aiba Yu said to his co-pilot as the plane entered cruise mode. "You can put your hands down now."

First officer, Sousuke Fujisawa, loosened his clasped fingers: "Takeoff and landing are the most dangerous times. I'm praying for them."

"You can continue doing this if you don't want to be let go and go solo."

Upon hearing this, Fujisawa Sousuke raised his eyebrows: "Captain, please don't, Captain! I'm the only one in the entire air force who hasn't been released solo! I was just eliminated by the GUTS team, and I'm feeling down and need some care. You can't do this to me, Captain!"

I can't tell where you're feeling down.

At that moment, the call button in the cockpit suddenly beeped.

Fujisawa Sousuke held back his words, then heard Director Sawai's voice coming from the speakers: "Aiba, I was just discussing the bill with Nanbara. You're the initiator of the bill... So, when are you coming from the police station?"

Air force transferred to the General Staff?

Fujisawa Sousuke's expression immediately changed. He stared nervously at his captain, much like a squirrel who had just discovered that its stored acorns were being tampered with by its neighbor.

“Director, pagers aren’t for casual chatting. You’ve violated the rules,” Aiba Yu said.

Fujisawa Sosuke instantly perked up: "If I'm transferred there, I'll definitely offend Commander Yoshioka, and my good days will be over!"

Aiba Yu turned his head and stared at him, a gaze that sent a shiver down Fujisawa Sousuke's spine.

The pager is still on!

His words were probably clearly heard by the senior executives!

They could definitely hear it clearly; the laughter of Director Sawai and Staff Officer Nanbara had already reached them.

They laughed heartily, as if under a clear blue sky, while in Fujisawa Sousuke's heart, dark clouds loomed and a torrential downpour raged.

"I'm not going to say it anymore," he muttered under his breath, his right hand moving across his tightly closed mouth as if zipping a zipper.

……

A few hours later.

The secretariat arranged for the departure time to be in the afternoon, so that the older senior members of TPC could rest on the plane and prepare for the meeting when they woke up.
