Ultraman Legend of the Light Chaser

“They’re not targeting me,” Samuel said.
He could sense whether the main guns of those ships were aimed at him. The sense of crisis felt like a thorn in his back, but it didn't come from the fleet blockading him from the outside; it came from the wishing orb that was devouring his companion star.
As he described, the outer fleet did not target him. They turned around and their tails burned faintly, leaving pale blue trails, like rainbow bridges crisscrossing the sky and connecting the vast universe with the wishing ball.
Their goal is the wishing ball.
“It prioritizes repairing itself,” Samuel said. “It’s produced a terrible thing.”
He turned his gaze to the “mine” that was being torn apart, earthquakes, volcanoes, rift valleys and the suddenly disappearing ocean... as well as the pillars that connected heaven and earth.
Somewhere many years ago, when the Sindzmoth was activated, it was a pillar of light where antimatter particles destroyed everything. Here, this "mine" that doesn't even have a number is a stone pillar whose own resources were greedily taken away and sent to another planet.
The still-warm lava wrapped around it, like a magnificent flower blooming on a stone pillar.
When a flower blooms to its fullest, it becomes desolate; in this grand death, only one person bids it farewell.
"Does the planet have life?" Samuel asked.
"You mean that 'mine'? It doesn't have any planetary consciousness... Oh, you mean there's life on it?" the slime muttered.
Samuel remained noncommittal, and the slime continued, "Perhaps there is organic matter?"
The giant suddenly moved, transforming into a point of light and flying between the "mine" and the wishing orb. From there, one could see its torn surface, exposed asthenosphere, churning magma, and occasionally revealing its true form—the star core expanding outward due to the sudden decrease in pressure.
He had seen the same scene many times. The Yapools also liked to do similar things. The star core was rich in heavy elements, which were formed over hundreds of millions of years. Many of the devices used by the Yapools needed to extract resources from it.
“I once knew a very good, very important friend who liked alien plants,” Samuel said slowly. “He named me Earth.”
He always forbade me to go near the plants he kept, even though he always managed to kill them for all sorts of bizarre reasons.
“He told me that ‘life is the most precious thing in the universe,’ which was something his mother had told him. He hoped that I would not kill everyone when I was on a mission. At the time, I took the ‘guide’s’ words as gospel. He only needed to order me to hold back, but he tried to reason with me.”
He asked softly, "Do you think there is life on planets?"
Slime initially thought he was asking about the "mine" behind him. Undoubtedly, it was a stone star with nothing but coveted resources. But he felt that Samuel was asking about something more complex.
Legend has it that destiny began with Urd, was manipulated by Verdandi, and ended with Skuld's scissors; their appearance foreshadowed the passing of the golden age of the gods. No one could see the thread they spun called "destiny," but for a fleeting moment, the aggregate of "resentment" felt that Samuel had seen it.
He didn't answer; many things were blocking his way, preventing him from replying. He only managed to utter one sentence: "You 'saw' it?"
“No,” Samuel replied, spreading his arms wide. A curtain of light extended from him, covering almost half the surface of the planet, stretching between the wishing orb and its “mine.” “I just think it’s greedy.”
The torn rocks and lava crashed onto the light screen, where they were intercepted by the seemingly fragile barrier. As their momentum diminished and the force pulling them weakened to a certain threshold, the rocks fell back due to gravity—their departure was sudden, but their return was even more "enthusiastic." They crashed into the deep pit with a thunderous roar, returning to the embrace of their mother planet.
Creating such a barrier may seem simple, but it actually requires an extremely high instantaneous output. Violent energy never knows how to take care of itself, whether it is flowing in a thin pipe or a wave in the ocean.
The slime felt that the container it had sewn back to its original shape was starting to wobble again, like a windshield after a car accident. Whether it would turn into shards or hold its ground depended entirely on the tiny wire mesh or adhesive inside.
"I never thought I could be a cosmic-level welder..." He recalled that in his jumbled memories, there were indeed aliens who worked welding spaceships. Now it seemed pretty much the same. Welding a giant would be exciting.
"I've done a lot of hard work," the slime always felt it wasn't right if he didn't grumble a bit while working: "Once you've squandered your life, I can fly this machine. I'll weld on the canards, make the best aerodynamic layout, streamlined, and throw out... explosive light blades while flying, a bomber, awesome."
“...there is no need for aerodynamic layouts in the universe,” Samuel said.
"Stop talking nonsense! I'm so annoyed, you know that, you idiot, lunatic, black-hearted container! I must have had Gob's spittle all over my head before I agreed to help you crush this damn red ball!" the slime roared. "Now it's got a hole in it, and the 'mine' can't patch it up. Hurry up! Turn it into non-recyclable trash!"
"You don't need to tell me."
Samuel reassembled his lightsaber, no longer needing to worry about energy consumption or his body's limits, as long as he could still control his movements. The excellent "welder" could guarantee that.
The light particles rotated and converged under the immense will, and the dark energy assimilated into the same brilliance when it approached. The giant raised one hand high, as if holding up a brilliant galaxy.
The galaxy compressed itself inward until it was almost solidified, like molten steel that had been blown about, hot and highly malleable. Its two ends were stretched, and an invisible hand was forging it into the shape of a sword blade.
The lightsaber pointed at the wishing orb, which had been blasted into a huge crater, its crystalline contents exposed. Samuel was alone, but he knew that countless "eyes," or rather, faint wills, were watching him.
He spoke to the aggregate of "resentment," and also to the tens of millions of dead who dwell here:
"Watch, your wishes... are being fulfilled."
……
Hundreds of years ago.
Headquarters of the Space Alliance.
The young man stepped into the registration room and stood ramrod straight.
He looked calmly at his superior, whose eyes were filled with complex emotions, his gaze as serene as a sunlit valley under a gentle breeze and drizzle.
The conversation between the two was brief, lasting only a few minutes, yet it led their destinies down a different path.
"To improve its efficiency, we need dedicated personnel to handle the output requests. This job is tedious, but now is the time to compete on resources and speed."
"Then you should choose me."
"reason?"
"I am the last Vazria alien. I have no family, no friends, and I am all alone, carrying the ideals of everyone... I am willing to do any job, no matter how tedious, as long as I can take revenge on the humans."
"Even though we haven't fully deciphered the secrets of the wishing ball, there might be unforeseen dangers?"
"It's ok."
"...On your enlistment application, you wrote that you wanted to become a crew member of the vanguard fleet."
"I've changed my college application."
"..."
"Sir."
"Ok?"
"If possible, if something really happens, please scatter my ashes between the fourth and fifth planets in the HB3419K star system."
"We can take Vazilia back. Don't you want to go home?"
"No, my beloved people are still drifting there. It's too cold in the universe. I'm going to join them."
"Okay, is there any more?"
"If you don't mind the trouble, Vazlia... will call back."
That day, please go to a place at 45°31′22″N, 12°44′59″W. There is a valley there. Please pick a bunch of flowers and place them there. If you can see three trees growing together, place them under the trees. If there are no more, please find any place you like.
"Okay, is there any more?"
"Gone."
"Then... let's go, Private."
"Yes, we will not fail in our mission!"
"Good luck."
Chapter 162 A Thousand Years Belong to Me
Everything that followed fell into place naturally.
Before the afterimage created by the lightsaber during its high-speed movement had dissipated, an even more magnificent burst of light swirled and rose into the sky from the opening of the wishing sphere. The crimson, fragmented crystals were illuminated by the brilliance, making the gift from the parent star pale in comparison. The explosion brought shockwaves, scattered matter, and layers of crowns.
But this was not the end. Two light blades alone were not enough to dismantle the entire planet. Under the protest of the slimes being forced to work overtime, the giant continuously condensed new light blades, and like blasting through a metallic life form, he pressed his advantage.
The ever-rising brilliance became the most dazzling source of light in this star system. Before the raging tide unleashed by the previous sword blade could turn into rain and recede, the next sword blade roared in.
The aggregate of "resentment" protested the overtime work while laughing hysterically, until it almost cried at the end. One moment it said, "You fucking be careful! If the welder dies, who's going to fix it for you?" The next it said, "I have as much energy as you want, take it all! There's still one piece that hasn't broken yet, it's about to explode!" Finally, it said:
"Some brothers are saying goodbye to me. Am I going to die?"
Once the aggregate of "resentment" has fulfilled its long-cherished wish, it has naturally completed its mission. When the resentment is gone, it will also disappear.
It is a pity when someone who used to talk to you disappears, but it is also something to celebrate if they can fulfill their wishes.
The slime understood its own nature. It thought for a moment and said, "Well, Earthlings are nothing. Lucifer, who doesn't speak human language, is still alive, so I probably won't be dead either."
The relentless bombardment lasted for a long time, at least from Samuel's personal perspective. He felt like a cog in the machine, the aliens' vengeful roarers pursuing their desires, using him as a tool to carry out their plans—otherwise, he couldn't possibly have access to such a vast amount of energy.
Red crystals filled the air. Just to be on the safe side, Samuel decided to burn them into even finer ash with flames, then open several different spacetime rifts and throw the ash into them to completely eliminate any future worries.
There will be no new "slag" or asteroid belts here. The giant looked back at the planet that had undergone a dramatic change. Although it had lost a lot of material, thanks to its considerable size, it was able to maintain hydrostatic equilibrium. It only needed to wait for some time before it could return to its normal state—albeit several times smaller.
He lowered his raised hand, and when he tried to move himself, he found that his body was indeed moving, but he could no longer feel it. He looked down at his arm and suddenly wanted to praise the slime's work.
I don't know if the cracks grew on my arms or if the cracks somehow became arms. The same thing spread all over my body. The cracks, some deep and some shallow, floated on the surface like capillaries. When the cracks opened occasionally, dark energy would rush in and close them up.
“There’s one more thing,” Samuel thought for a moment and said, “Are you tired?”
The slime was stunned: "No, aren't you going to wait a bit before you go? Although I'm glad you're willing to go and smash those broken red balls over there by Earthlings right away, I don't actually like driving those dilapidated machines."
Samuel answered a little slowly. He shook his head to clear away the jumbled fragments of alien memories, reinforcing his self-awareness before replying, "We don't have time. Lucifer is obviously waiting for us here. How did he get the news?"
"Furthermore, he said that his body was destroyed when he wished to replicate the red ball, and the alien he possessed... so he is very likely a will entity without a real body, just like you."
The slime shuddered, tiny ripples spreading across its body: "You don't mean to say he's been with us the whole time... that, that, that Agul?!"
“If the will were to change midway, it would be detected no matter what. If it was Agul, Pito, though unreliable, wouldn’t go to this extent. It’s only possible that his will was imbued into him earlier,” Samuel replied. “Tell me, who traveled from the future universe to the ‘past’?”
"...Hitomi Onodera?!" The slime was stunned: "Brother, how many bowls of her medicine did you drink?"
“The medicine is fine,” Samuel said, “but I don’t think it’s that simple—the only thing that’s certain is that since he didn’t stop us from destroying the wishing orbs here, it means he’s found something new that can provide him with energy and make him stronger.”
"He didn't say he only copied two, did he? And when he said 'the Crimson Jade decomposed,' did it really decompose, or is it just another lie?"
Samuel's words silenced the slime for a long time. Then, it scratched its jelly-like shell and asked, "Shall we go back first?"
"Unless we deal with the one in the hands of these Earthlings, he still possesses the tool to bewitch people, so we must destroy it as soon as possible and then go back. I was thinking..."
