Why can't humans do it too?

"So what can we get?" Yukari Yakumo asked with great interest, finally having waited for this moment.
“At the very least, it’s the service of my branch of the Oni clan. In the Central Plains of Ashihara, no god or monster can ignore such a force. What do you say?” Hizo asked frankly, laying out all his bargaining chips.
"Effectiveness~", such a condition was naturally enough for Yakumo Yukari, and as she repeated this, she turned her gaze to Suer.
Yukari Yakumo would never forget who truly held the power of decision here.
As for Suer... Suer was rather uninterested. He had already understood why Huozhao had said it was meaningless, and he also understood why this ghost always had an expression that said nothing mattered and that it didn't matter what.
The ruler of Yamato Province is dead.
Whether it was good or bad for the remaining humans and various monsters living on this land, no one knew, but for Suer, he did feel a deep sense of boredom at this moment.
He was indeed an outsider.
“He will die,” Suer said calmly, raising his right hand and holding it up in mid-air. His voice was crystal clear. “It’s just because this form of existence goes against my values and disgusts me… that’s all there is to it.”
This is not an explanation to anyone, but simply a declaration.
Sull was once so weak that he could probably not even compare to the children of the forest elves. Even when he finally won the great war, it was inseparable from the help of those who were willing to die for their cause, as well as the help of those allies with good intentions—and of course, his lover, the most intelligent genius in the world, Xin Ke.
Suer needs her help and cannot live without it. Xinke is also content with this dependence. But unfortunately, this tacit understanding between Suer and Xinke in the previous world has been reversed in the current world, which is naturally hard for this proud forest elf to accept.
How could she be weaker than Suer? If she were weaker than him, how could she protect him?
That kind of thing is not genius at all.
However, the facts will not change because of Xin Ke's will, just like the earth that is now trembling in the shocked eyes of several monsters, the entire underground world.
Although his time as the One God was brief, it left Sur a rich legacy. Even though it was only a drop in the ocean compared to the total power of the One God, it was enough for Sur.
This power is not complicated; rather, it is extremely simple and brutal—it is the world itself.
At the very least, it's just a corner of the world.
Wherever Suer sets foot, the mysteries of the world will be revealed to him. Even if his current brain and soul cannot comprehend these mysteries, and he has to block them out as meaningless buzzing in his mind for safety, he can still influence everything around him simply with his strong will. This is the most superficial way of using it.
For Suer, who had experienced all of that, a strong and unwavering will was the one thing he had in abundance.
And that is why this tiny corner of the world, the sunless underground world, began to pulsate in his palm.
The fine, continuous vibrations made my eardrums itch slightly. Dark black sand and dust began to fall from the top of the underground. Even the ugly monster noticed this. It raised its countless faces and curiously looked at everything above it, only to find that its favorite food had rolled onto the ground because of the shaking.
With a sharp howl, the monster stretched out its fleshy tentacles and pulled the twisted clumps of flesh toward itself.
Chapter Thirty-Four: Hello?
It's like a playful child lying on the ground, clutching all his toys to his chest, refusing to let go of any of them, with pus-filled liquid dribbling from the corner of his mouth.
He couldn't help but shudder at the thought that came to mind. The morbid and disgusting appearance made Su Er's brows furrow even more, and he didn't even want to look at it again.
He loved the rivers of this world, the blooming wildflowers, and the clumsy river fish that would jump ashore on their own. Perhaps he should also add the silly monsters. These beautiful memories should not be squeezed out of his mind by disgusting things.
Knowing nothing of magic or spells, all Suer could rely on was his imagination, and all he needed to do was imagine—the earth dragon's reversal.
Then it turned over.
The black soil and dark rocks were twisted into a ball, and even chain-like patterns were carved at the intersection of the spirals according to Su'er's preferences. However, it was quickly wiped clean under Su'er's watchful gaze, without any trace of demonic energy or spiritual power. It was as if this land had gained its own consciousness and wanted to stand up, take a good look at everything on the surface, and bask in the sun.
Since being forcibly transformed into the Oni race, they have never set foot on the surface of the earth. For those Oni who have experienced these two eras, the days when they were revered as gods seem like yesterday. Simply having nothing does not cause much pain; it is only when one gains and then loses that people cherish it more, and with it comes endless suffering.
At least for these demons, they can only recall what warm sunlight looks like from the depths of their memories, as well as wind and rain... But the children born underground do not even have such memories; whether it is the sun or anything else, it is just an illusory word existing in words.
But today, everything has changed.
A blinding white light shone through the fractured surface of the rocks and soil. Many of the demons took a long time to realize what it was—the sunlight they had lost for so long. However, what shocked them even more than this dreamlike sunlight was the earth dragon that soared into the sky.
The ground was trembling so badly that it was almost impossible to stand. When the underground city of Yamato was built, three huge oval-shaped holes were dug out. The place next to the surface was where some people of relatively high status lived, the second level was where the Oni lived, and the deepest third level was where the master of the entire Yamato Kingdom, the Heavenly Grandson, lived.
This strange structure was only able to avoid collapse because it was supported by divine and demonic power. Naturally, it should have collapsed into the deep pit underground when the support was broken, burying all life inside.
However, this logic was easily shattered. Although all the soil and rocks on one side seemed to have twisted into a unique life, the entire underground city showed no signs of collapse. It was as if three pieces of white paper were not folded together between five fingers, and they extended in parallel, with even the farthest corners not touching.
The enormous earthen dragon that soared into the sky pulled the entire fleshy monster out of the ground. Suer even saw the fleshy tentacles that the monster had buried in the cracks of the ground over the past few hundred years, which were now being pulled out of the earth by the force of the pull, just like removing a fish's tendons.
Before the eyes of all the demons and humans, the monster slid through the cracks in the earth and was forcefully thrown to the outside. What fell from below it was a rain of bones and corpses, emitting a stench as they were smashed into a pulp at the edge.
"what is that?"
The same question exists not only among humans, but also among the demons. The current state of their master, the Heavenly Grandson, is a secret even to them, but he is undoubtedly the most evil monster... No, they cannot even define the monster's race. They can only see its evil from the countless faces covering its body and the snake-like twisted fleshy tendrils.
But it is also sacred—the surface of flesh and blood undoubtedly shimmers with the radiance of the sun, which is the most revered power in this country.
This is an evil that even they cannot accept.
Despite having lost most of its intelligence, when it was tossed high into the sky by the earth dragon summoned by Suer, and when the sunlight shone upon it, this flesh and blood monster, transformed from the Heavenly Grandson, began to wail, its countless faces filled with mouths.
The fragments of sunlight that shimmered inside and on its body now seemed to have gained even more power, burning intensely and emitting bluish smoke.
A long dragon, formed from the darkest soil and rocks from the deepest part of the earth, coiled above the entire city of Yamato, like a true god. It paid no heed to the mortals below who were staring at the sky in astonishment. It had already caught up with the fleshy monster it had flung into the air, carrying the rage of those who had summoned it.
The body, which should have been incredibly heavy, defied gravity and floated in mid-air. Under Sul's will, the enormous earth dragon relentlessly entangled itself, using the fleshy monster as its core, endlessly squeezing, endlessly wrapping, and endlessly binding it, ignoring the painful howls of the monster being ground into mincemeat, until even its voice was sealed outside the earthen body.
When Suer finally let out a long breath, the strange movements in the sky also temporarily ceased. The earth and rock dragon had lost its form and transformed into a sphere floating in the air.
No longer concealing herself, Xin Ke appeared beside him and wiped the sweat from his forehead. Such a commotion was not an easy thing for Su Er to do.
With a smile and a nod to Xin Ke, Su Er slightly withdrew his raised right hand, as if he was exerting force, while the sphere in the sky changed its position accordingly, undoubtedly as if it was about to throw something.
"Wait, wait a minute, where are we going to throw this?" Huo Zhao couldn't help but ask, still shocked by what he had just seen, a power comparable to that of a god.
Since it concerned his father, he felt he had to ask him at least a little.
"Ah... I guess it's like—go back to where you came from, right?" he drawled, but Suer quickly gave his answer. He ignored the presence of the firelight and aimed with his eyes half-closed. He concentrated all his strength, his loosely clenched fingers as if they were gripping something tangible—and then he threw it out with force—and with even more force!
As Suer moved, the sphere floating above the city of Yamato also accelerated to its limit and soared into the sky!
Target! Takamagahara!!
Chapter Thirty-Five: Embers
On this day, all life living in Ashihara no Naka de can see a shooting star streaking across the sky simply by looking up. It is a ray of light that can be clearly seen even when the sun is hanging at its highest point in the clearest daytime, and it is even as radiant as the sun itself.
But it was a shooting star traveling in reverse, not falling from the sky to the earth, but flying from the earth to the sky, towards the top of the Milky Way, which is clearly visible even in daylight and runs through the heavens and earth. According to Su'er's understanding, this should be the place where the gods of this world reside.
Its destructive power is far less than its symbolic significance.
I don't know if it's just my imagination, but the sun today is much hotter than usual. Even though it's winter and the snow hasn't melted yet, the stinging sensation on my skin feels just like the heat of summer.
Watching the meteor carrying the monster depart, Suer even raised his right hand and waved it towards the sky. He didn't know if the gods in Takamagahara could see what was happening in Yamato, but considering that this was, after all, a country directly ruled by Amaterasu no Omikami... so they were probably watching, right?
“There’s only one reason you were killed… and that is because you disgusted me,” Sue said softly, gazing at the shooting star still heading toward the top of the Milky Way.
Sunlight streamed through the massive hole created by the earth dragon as it left the ground, falling on Suer and his companions, yet the temperature remained unchanged.
The meteor was still flying, leaving a long trail, getting smaller and smaller... *snap*!
Sound cannot travel such a great distance, but everyone who witnessed this scene couldn't help but silently narrate it in their hearts. It seemed to have reached the pinnacle of its potential, exploding like fireworks and then rippling like waves, melting into the starry sky.
“At least we’ve confirmed that Takamagahara is there, right?” Floating beside Suer, Xin Ke looked at the solidified starry sky with great interest.
"Ah, I'll visit later," Suer replied simply, and walked to the edge of the huge cavity formed by the soil and rocks he had removed. In his perception, there seemed to be something stirring there.
Huo Zhao was still staring blankly at the sky above him, two lines of tears streaming down his face. It was unclear whether it was because of the sunlight shining on him, his elation at the fact that the entire ghost clan had finally been freed from their constraints, or his sadness over the mysterious disappearance of his father.
Sur didn't take the little demon seriously, and his request was insignificant. What Sur was going to do wouldn't change because of his request.
"Why don't we take this opportunity to challenge him?" She tried to nudge Yuuka Kazami beside her, but the green-haired flower fairy nimbly dodged. Ignoring the small matter, Yukari Yakumo winked mischievously and said, "I thought you'd be fired up after seeing all that... How could you possibly hold back?"
It was obvious that this blonde banshee was maliciously stirring things up, or rather, teasing the notoriously warlike Kazami Yuuka. Naturally, she saw through this as well. Kazami Yuuka glared at Yakumo Yukari with a cold smile. She took a quick, deep breath to barely suppress the heat in her body and release the excess heat.
'I'm not strong enough'—I thought that following along would give me a chance to fight a powerful enemy, but I didn't even get a chance to make a move. This feeling made Kazami Yuuka feel regretful, but it also made her look forward to it even more.
Knowing that there are still many formidable opponents to overcome on the road ahead is something to celebrate, but the opportunity to challenge them only comes once, and she needs to become even stronger.
Like I said before, Kazami Yuuka is never a stupid youkai... I should find a chance to beat up Yakumo Yukari.
Yuuka Kazami's eyes were aiming to the right.
The commotion behind them naturally did not escape the ears of Suer and Xinke, but neither of them paid any attention to it. They were looking down at the bottom of the hole, where darkness was brewing.
Aside from the 'pills' scattered in the corners due to Suer's rough handling, the place where the anomaly occurred was the place where the monster that the Heavenly Grandson had transformed into had been entrenched for hundreds of years. Black smoke was continuously emanating from the crevices that had once been penetrated by the monster's tentacles.
No, perhaps it should be more accurate to say that the entire area, from which ever-changing clouds and mist seeped out from the rocks and soil, constantly changing shape, even forming translucent entities, undoubtedly the appearance of the humans of this world. They stood there one after another, side by side, and when Suer looked down at them, they also looked up at Suer—and then smiled, their teeth turning black.
But this was by no means its true form. However, when Suer tentatively threw down a stone, the translucent smoke scattered in panic, like a flock of startled birds, before tentatively taking over the spot again after a long while.
"What is this?" Somewhat amused, he tossed another stone down. Suer was certain that this was not caused by anything left behind by that monster. Apart from its unhealthy color, the smoke was surprisingly harmless.
"Is this the last hope and resentment of those who died here?" Following along, Yukari Yakumo curiously peered down. "Before, I was pinned down by that monster, but now I finally have a chance to show myself."
As the blonde banshee spoke, the little figures formed from the smoke below had already run to the 'pills' in the corner that were not yet covered by soil. Perhaps it was the resonance between their remaining consciousness and flesh and blood that made them have a special interest in these 'pills'. However, after several attempts to push them, they simply passed through without any collision.
"So, it's a monster?" Suer concluded.
"At least for now, it's not a yokai. Although it will eventually become one of the yokai as time goes by, it's just a natural phenomenon for now and doesn't pose any threat," Yukari Yakumo shrugged. There are just too many yokai like this in the world right now.
The resentment and lingering anger left behind by the dead.
"Really?" Su Er sighed deeply. "That was truly a chaotic world."
As his hand fell, the hollow was completely covered by the flowing soil, burying this hideous place that had buried countless human corpses deep underground. Perhaps it will see the light of day again in the future, but that will no longer be relevant to Suer.
