Why can't humans do it too?

Bullying Suer and Xinke, two country bumpkins from out of town?
Know nothing.
Suer could only try his best to recall the parts of Xinke's memory related to monsters, as well as various strange and unreasonable abilities.
First, there's the nine-tailed fox—first, she has to have nine tails, well, generally it's her, not him.
Besides, each of the nine-tailed fox's tails seems to have different abilities, but Suer can't remember what they are. Moreover, some versions of the nine-tailed fox don't have that many abilities. Suer vaguely remembers that the tails can take someone's place in death, and each time someone dies, a tail is cut off, just like a gecko.
Thinking about this, Su'er became uncertain again. Shouldn't the cat demon be the one to die in place of the cat demon? A nine-tailed cat demon, losing a tail with each death... Does the nine-tailed fox have that ability? Doesn't it? Does it have that ability?
Moreover, this is just a nine-tailed fox that exists in various different stories, while the nine-tailed fox spoken by Yukari Yakumo is a real yokai that exists in this world. In this world with gods, Sull knows nothing about what kind of yokai this nine-tailed fox is, how it appeared, or how famous it became.
"It's really tough..." Sitting on her bamboo veranda, enjoying the breeze, Su'er took a sip of tea and sighed deeply. Then she turned to Xin Ke beside her and asked, "What are your thoughts?"
What Suer was referring to were the unique abilities of those monsters that were theoretically bizarre and varied, ranging from simple and crude manipulation of wind, water, and fire to complex resurrection of the undead and bewitching people's minds—these were about the only examples he could think of for the time being.
"Does this feel more fun than the previous world?" Su Er said, suppressing a laugh. "Thinking about it carefully, in the previous world, it seemed like everyone was just endlessly repeating the process of developing more powerful bombs and then blowing each other up. In terms of variety, it certainly couldn't compare, right?"
“It’s just unnecessary,” Xin Ke said, raising an eyebrow and seeing through Su Er’s bad intentions. She slapped Su Er’s leg, making a crisp sound.
"Instead of playing these complicated but weak tricks, I could use this time to develop a more powerful spell that would crush the enemy along with all his tricks—is there a problem with that?"
screw.
Chapter Nine: Little Hobbies
Very good, Miss Nirbalian's combo can be described as smooth and flowing. Amid the screams of agony from the man's deliberate twisting of his body, Xin Ke rolled her eyes and withdrew her hand.
They weren't really angry; rather, they were playing a sweet little game between the two of them. After frolicking for a while, they both returned to their leisurely state, squinting their eyes and enjoying the warm afternoon sun. To be precise, it was Su'er who was enjoying it, while Xin Ke shared his feelings.
The dilemma of whether to live in the mountains or by the sea that had once troubled him no longer became a problem when he was actually faced with the choice. Without much hesitation, Su'er immediately took a liking to this place near the river, where a bamboo forest grew. As far as he was concerned, it had a kind of tranquility and charm that a hermit sage would have—if he ignored the occasional blind monsters that would appear.
He used to wonder why so many small monsters with little intelligence, who only thought about eating and killing, yet had an astonishing amount of meat, would come to his door, so much so that he couldn't finish eating them all and could only wastefully throw them into the fields behind the bamboo house to fertilize the land. But now, after combining the information revealed in Yakumo Yukari's words, Suer understood the reason.
Just from the names of those two deities, so famous that even people in his country across the sea had heard of them, it's clear that this is still a world where deities have influence over the mortal realm, a world teeming with demons. So it's understandable that there are so many ignorant little demons, since they've only just become spirits, lack experience, and don't have a complex demon society, so their naivety is to be expected.
“But what you said does make some sense,” Xin Ke said, picking up her teacup and taking a sip. She looked down with amusement at the tea swirling in her semi-transparent body. “If their abilities are really as complex as you say, then it would indeed be much more interesting… My desire to study them is almost bursting forth!”
“But you don’t even have a body right now, how can you do research?” Su Er chuckled and complained, but after waiting a few seconds without hearing Xin Ke’s response, he suddenly realized something. When he turned around, he saw Xin Ke smiling at him.
"...Hey? No way?"
"Hmm~"
Suer's incredulous question was met with a playful wink from Xinke, the meaning of which was quite clear—aren't you still here?
"...I can't stay in the lab for decades without ever going out...By the way, it's impossible for someone as lazy as you to not wear clothes or shower—it hurts!"
Before Suer could finish speaking, he was met with a fierce attack from Xin Ke. Even in his semi-transparent soul form, the forest spirit's flick of its finger still caused him considerable pain. This woman showed no mercy whatsoever!
"Well, there's nothing we can do about it~", Xin Ke said with a smile as she watched Su Er grimacing and clutching his forehead. "If my genius research desires aren't satisfied, then you probably won't be able to sleep well at night, will you?"
Without a doubt—this is a threat!
"Alright, alright, I'll help you catch some strange little monsters, and I'll also help you build the magic workshop." This threat was so powerful that Suer had no choice but to sigh and beg for mercy. "But let me make this clear beforehand, although I've mastered a tiny bit of skill, the specific order of operation or how to research it still depends on you... Is that alright?"
"Of course~, that's enough~", Xin Ke smiled brightly at her victory. Suddenly, she whispered softly and moved close to Su Er, gently pushing away Su Er's hand that was covering the spot where she had been hit. She even kissed it affectionately, as if she hadn't been the one who had hit her hard.
The pain in his forehead hadn't subsided, but feeling those cool lips touch his forehead, the helplessness that had just risen in Su'er vanished—he'd better go catch some interesting little monsters tomorrow.
Thinking about it carefully, the feeling of having one's hobbies never being satisfied is indeed a kind of torment.
Suer made a decision.
After we finish our tea, let's dig out the magic workshop she wants—well, maybe we'll need to add a dozen or so layers of protection?
--------------
Suer once heard an interesting saying.
Throughout history, the essence of human civilization has never changed. No matter what form it takes, it is essentially boiling water and throwing stones—the former refers to the way of obtaining energy, and the latter refers to the way of using energy.
Boil water faster and better, throw bigger and farther stones... it's nothing more than that.
So, which category does the current situation fall into?
Even in the underground cavern, there is no darkness. The soft light protects the eyes, which do not actually need protection. It is like a scene from a villain's laboratory in a science fiction movie. Several small monsters with different appearances are fixed in huge, round glass containers.
Although their squeaking and yelling were a bit noisy, to be honest, there was no danger. They were just scared because they were cowardly. At least when Suer glanced down, he could see an unidentified yellow liquid at the bottom of the glass container... tsk.
"Have you figured out anything?" To be honest, after being underground for several days, Suer was indeed longing for sunlight, but he was still patiently waiting for Xin Ke's instructions.
"Hmm...it's a completely unknown form?" Floating outside the glass wall, Xin Ke stood with her arms crossed, lost in thought.
Unlike the black demonic aura that seemed to block out the sun that day emanated from Yukari Yakumo, the smoke emanating from these little demons was just blue smoke, not even very dark in color. If it weren't for the unique scent of that demonic aura, it would probably be mistaken for ordinary wisps of smoke.
After all, it's just a minor monster; we can't expect too much from it.
When these emanating demonic energies touched the edge of the glass container, they would light up with faint green runes, then be forced back, constantly trying as if they had their own life, eventually surrounding the little demons.
The runes are still familiar, but the formula is different. After all, there is no Elf Corridor in this world, and neither Suer nor Xinke has the ability to generate elves. Therefore, the spells that were once made possible by elves now need to be completely updated.
Let's call those invisible energies existing between heaven and earth "spiritual power" for now. These spells that bind demonic energy are spells that Suer rewrote under Xin Ke's guidance, using spiritual power.
Chapter Ten: Mysterious Identification
"Can their abilities be sealed in a prop for reuse?" Su Er asked, somewhat speechless, as he gently tapped on the glass wall and heard the volume inside suddenly rise again.
These little monsters captured by Suer each possessed some interesting abilities, which even he found quite amusing.
“Interesting,” Xin Ke said, stroking her chin without directly answering Su Er’s question. “I thought their power came from demonic energy, but I didn’t expect that pure demonic energy is just a highly corrosive energy that can easily change and assimilate all the matter it comes into contact with, but it doesn’t carry any special abilities—I mean the abilities of these little demons.”
“Although the demonic energy of these little monsters isn’t particularly corrosive, when their size and power level are magnified several times over, the corrosiveness becomes something that can’t be ignored—if you’re going to fight that Yakumo Yukari later, you’ll have to do your best to avoid getting hurt.” At this point, Xin Ke suddenly paused, then turned her head and said with a smile, “No, considering the special nature of your body now, perhaps you can be exempt from this kind of corrosion?”
"Ah, I'm looking forward to that scene," Su'er smiled mysteriously after imagining a certain scene for a moment, and didn't continue.
"In short, those special abilities all seem to be activated only through the will of these little monsters, and their demonic energy serves as the energy source in this process... unless some continuous abilities can be attached to demonic energy."
So what's the conclusion?
"The conclusion is that they can't be sealed into an item for use for the time being. Or you could cut off their hands and feet, stuff them into a box, and then use magic to control their abilities... But you probably wouldn't agree to such a cruel method, would you?"
She clapped her hands and calmly stated the conclusion of the Ha people. As soon as Xin Ke finished speaking, the screams and noise inside the glass container instantly escalated to another level.
“…Obviously not,” Su Er rolled her eyes in annoyance and tapped the glass container to temporarily block out the screams, finally gaining some peace.
There is no doubt that Xin Ke was deliberately trying to scare these little monsters.
"Let's take it slow, we just have plenty of time left anyway," Suer shrugged indifferently, indicating that he wasn't in a hurry. "Besides, we still have that spiritual energy, right? I think this completely unknown world is enough for you to play in for thousands of years."
"Ah~, yes~", Xin Ke replied lightly. She noticed that Su Er's gaze kept glancing towards the direction from the magic workshop to the ground, and couldn't help but smile. "Alright, alright, let's go, let's go for a walk outside~"
"Hum~"
Suer was allowed to go outside for fresh air.
--------------
Instead of blindly ignoring Yakumo Yukari's warning, Sue and Shinko made their decision after careful discussion and research—to stay here.
Why would someone run away as soon as they know it's a nine-tailed fox?
Although Yukari Yakumo described the fox as very fierce, to be honest, her demeanor was likely due to her being a country bumpkin who hadn't seen much of the world—even though Yukari Yakumo appeared very arrogant that day, Suer didn't actually feel any real danger.
He was confident that if that golden-haired monster really chose to fight him there, she would be the one to die.
I don't want to move. I don't want to have to run away just to survive, even if I go to another world. Besides, the idea that the fox is hard to talk to is just Yakumo Yukari's one-sided opinion. What if that golden-haired banshee is just trying to use this rhetoric to incite Suer's hostility towards the fox she has never met?
After considering various factors, the two ultimately decided to remain still—after all, no matter what the situation, Suer was absolutely confident that he could escape, so he didn't feel much of a sense of crisis.
Although he always describes himself as having insignificant power and being an ordinary human being, Suer has an accurate understanding of himself in his heart.
Even though he chose to temporarily relinquish the unique divine throne he once possessed, it left him with a rich legacy... so rich that even Suer himself found it hard to believe.
Therefore, in the end, Suer and Xinke's peaceful and warm life continued. The two had made a plan: when their research on demonic energy reached the next stage, or at the latest by the end of the year, they would travel to the so-called Izumo and Yamato countries to take a good look at the humans in this world... those humans created by the gods, according to Yakumo Yukari.
Instead of evolving step by step from the biological trajectory over a long period of time, humans were created directly by the gods, just like the divine races in the previous world. What would such humans be like?
What are the differences between us?
Not only was Suer curious, but Xinke was just as curious.
Holding onto this small expectation for the future, the days passed by one by one. However, to Suer and Xinke's surprise, what broke this peaceful life was not their planned scheme, nor the nine-tailed fox that Yakumo Yukari claimed to have come from the west, but a female demon who suddenly appeared one afternoon when Suer rolled up her sleeves to weed the vegetables in the farmland behind the house.
She had short green hair with slightly curled ends, which didn't look like it had been carefully styled, but it didn't look messy at all. Beneath the bangs that covered her forehead, a pair of clear red eyes, like jewels, sparkled.
The green-haired banshee was barefoot, her feet treading on the mud. Yet, her tall stature was almost level with Sul, and she was at least taller than the gap monster that had appeared earlier. The clothes she wore did not resemble normal clothing; rather, they looked as if she had simply torn a large piece of dark rag and wrapped it around her body. The rag was only long enough to cover her knees, and the edges were jagged, as if it had been torn by sharp canine teeth.
If Suer wasn't mistaken, there seemed to be faint bloodstains on the tattered cloth she was wearing, left from several washes that hadn't been completely removed. And on the whole garment, these bloodstains overlapped with each other, until they stained... a dark color.
"Bamboo houses, fields, and a river flowing by... This must be the place."
As she spoke, she glanced around. The green-haired banshee's voice was even more androgynous than her exquisite appearance. She turned her gaze back to Suer, who had straightened up, and grinned.
"You have a good eye for choosing fertilizers."
Chapter Eleven: Yuuka Kazami
'Am I being praised?' Suer felt a bit bewildered, his expression shifting between wariness and astonishment.
A feeling of being watched by a carnivorous beast washed over him. It wasn't exactly terrifying, but he did feel a series of needle-like pains on his skin. Under the gaze of those ruby-like eyes, Suer's exposed skin was throbbing. The killing intent and fighting spirit in those eyes were far too unrestrained, licking over his skin.
