Now both Pokémon have reached the ceiling of advanced strength, and there is almost no difference between them. However, Gyarados has mastered the technique of Inch Punch and Tail, which gives it a slight edge in the use of power. Combined with its type advantage, Gyarados is still slightly stronger overall.
"Where's Togekiss?" Ye Feng looked around but couldn't find Togekiss, and Rotom wasn't around either.
"Gengar, do you see Togekiss and Rotom?" Ye Feng called out to Gengar.
"Gengar!" Gengar pointed in one direction.
Ye Feng glanced over and noticed that there were many fruit trees growing there; it was Pokkis's favorite place.
"Did he go and steal some food again?" Ye Feng couldn't help but laugh, remembering Tokis's slightly gluttonous nature.
After walking for a while, Ye Feng found Tokiss sleeping among a grove of fruit trees, its belly round from eating—though it was already a bit round to begin with.
"Tokiss? It's sneaking food again." Ye Feng squatted down and poked Tokiss's soft cheek.
"Keith?" Pokkis opened his eyes, looked at Ye Feng blankly, and then jumped up. "Keith! Keith!"
"Alright, alright, no need to argue." Ye Feng glanced at the tree fruit pits scattered on the ground and rolled his eyes.
Pokkis noticed it too and turned away, embarrassed.
Ye Feng patted Togekiss's head hard and looked up at the sky.
"Where did Dream go? I haven't seen her for days," Ye Feng murmured.
From the time Ye Feng set off until he found the second monster stone tablet, plus the few days of waiting, about half a month had passed, but the dream still hadn't appeared.
If Ye Feng hadn't learned from the World Tree that Dream was safe and sound, he would have almost thought that it had been captured by the Shadow Elf.
"Let's play on our phones for a bit." Ye Feng pressed down on Togekiss, leaned against it, and rubbed its soft belly while taking out his phone.
Normally there would be no signal here, but Ye Feng had connections. After he spoke with the World Tree, the World Tree let in some electronic signals. Although they weren't great, they were enough for Ye Feng to browse the web.
As for how the World Tree did it, Ye Feng had no idea—but after all, it is the World Tree, so there's nothing strange about it.
As was his habit, Ye Feng opened the association's forum to see if there were any new updates.
I immediately spotted a post that was highlighted in red and pinned to the top.
Something happened? Ye Feng thought to himself as he clicked on the post.
"Recently, several small-scale elven siege incidents have occurred..."
"A number of trainers were injured, but thankfully there were no serious casualties..."
"A trainer has gone missing. Details are as follows..."
"Zhang Qiang, a freshman at Shanghai University, is from Jinghai City, Jiangsu Province. His photo is attached below. If you spot him, please contact the association immediately..."
"Zhang Qiang is missing?!" Ye Feng jumped up.
Although there are countless people in China named Zhang Qiang, even if they share the same name, they can't all look exactly alike, right?
"What happened? How could he disappear?" Ye Feng started spinning around in circles, extremely anxious.
Ye Feng quickly mounted Togekiss, called back his Pokémon, found Hoopa, and had it take him back to Jinghai City.
"Little Hoopa, go back to the World Tree and wait. When Dream returns, tell it I have urgent business to attend to and need to leave."
"Ok!"
Ye Feng rushed to Zhang Qiang's house without stopping, but unfortunately no one was there; they had probably all gone out to look for Zhang Qiang.
Ye Feng then went to the Jinghai City Trainers Association to inquire in detail about the circumstances of Zhang Qiang's disappearance.
"He accepted the patrol assignment, defeated a group of small Rattatas and Rattatas during the shift change, and went to explore the wilderness alone. His whereabouts are unknown?" Ye Feng read the information provided by the association in a low voice.
"In the wild? Could it be that he was attacked by a wild Pokémon?" Ye Feng guessed. "But that's impossible. There wouldn't be any Pokémon that are too strong in the wild around the city, let alone one that could capture Zhang Qiang."
"Could it be a secret realm?"
The only explanation for Zhang Qiang's disappearance is that he accidentally entered a secret realm, which is also the association's guess.
After several days of exploration, the association has not found the entrance to the secret realm.
Ye Feng arrived at the place where Zhang Qiang had patrolled a few days ago. There were still some traces of battle left behind, all of which were fire-attribute moves.
It must have been left by Zhang Qiang when he dealt with Rattata, since his main Pokémon are all Fire-type.
Just as Ye Feng was about to continue forward, he was stopped by someone.
"Hey young man, you can't go any further ahead." A trainer in his forties blocked Ye Feng's path.
"Why?" Ye Feng asked, puzzled.
"A trainer went missing a few days ago. He was in that grove of trees over there. Trainers below the advanced level shouldn't go there until the situation is clear," the man explained.
Below the advanced level? Ye Feng pondered. Was it because the missing Zhang Qiang was an advanced trainer that people below the advanced level were prohibited from going there?
"Thanks, but I'm already an advanced trainer." Ye Feng revealed his trainer level and, while the man was still in a daze, flew away on his Togekiss.
"Young people these days are getting more and more impressive..." the man remarked, watching Ye Feng's departing figure.
"Hey, Brother Wang, don't sigh. This is good news." A trainer about the same age as Brother Wang walked over and said with a smile, "Since that cube came out, the average level of trainers has improved very quickly."
"Right now, they are just young advanced trainers. I think in a few years, there might be young master trainers."
"That's called an Energy Cube. My kid's Pokémon is eating that supplement now, and it's really effective and cheap." Brother Wang rolled his eyes and said, "As for becoming a Master Trainer, it's not as easy as you make it out to be."
···
Ye Feng rode Togekiss around and around, searching the surrounding woods, but found no trace of the secret realm.
"That's true. If it were a secret realm, the association would have discovered it long ago." Ye Feng sighed. "Where on earth did Zhang Qiang go..."
At the Trainers Association Disaster Warning Center, a piercing alarm suddenly sounded.
"A secret realm has been discovered in the suburbs of Jinghai City, coordinates: XXX, XXX!"
"What? Wasn't that the place where a high-level trainer went missing? He really did wander into the secret realm by mistake!"
"Issue an evacuation alert immediately and notify the emergency response team to proceed immediately!"
"Move!!"
Ye Feng stared wide-eyed at the suddenly appearing entrance to the secret realm.
He felt a bone-chilling cold emanating from within.
"This is
Chapter 321 The Frozen Man
Ye Feng observed carefully for a while and found nothing unusual at the entrance to the secret realm. After notifying the association, Ye Feng rode his Togekiss and plunged inside.
Upon entering the secret realm, Ye Feng felt a bone-chilling cold, and his brain even felt dizzy for a moment.
He quickly summoned Gengar and had it bring out the cold-resistant clothing that he hadn't used up during his last trip to the Frost Realm.
One layer wasn't enough, so Ye Feng put on three layers before he felt warm.
Pokkis shivered, feeling a bit cold too.
Although it used to live in the Frost Realm and had some resistance to low temperatures and special cold-weather techniques, the temperature in this realm is much lower than that of the Frost Realm.
Ye Feng had made some preparations for dealing with the low-temperature secret realm—with Gengar around, he had already stockpiled a lot of supplies to deal with different environments, and he could just have Gengar take them out when needed, which was very convenient.
Ye Feng observed his surroundings and found that this place was very similar to the Frost Secret Realm, both being a vast expanse of white ice and snow. He quickly asked Gengar to bring out his sunglasses and put them on—Ye Feng was afraid that he would suffer from snow blindness.
Zhang Qiang should be in this secret realm, right?
"Pokekiss, find out if Zhang Qiang is here," Ye Feng said.
Fortunately, Togekiss was there, and its Aura's perception was several times stronger than the "circle" formed by Gardevoir's Nen.
In fact, this "circle" is essentially just a means of detecting the mental fluctuations of living beings through telekinesis and using telekinesis to envelop objects without mental power for detection. It is an application of superpowers, but its range is not as large as that of waveguides, nor as detailed.
Like the mental barrier "Firm," it doesn't have a formal name; Ye Feng simply gave it a name.
Pokkiss closed his eyes, and the waveguide began to spread out rapidly, searching carefully.
Everything has waveguides, and the waveguides emitted by different people, spirits, and objects have slight differences, which we can call frequencies for now.
Since Pokkiss had met Zhang Qiang, he only needed to search for Zhang Qiang's waveguide frequencies.
"Kiss!" Pokkis quickly found Zhang Qiang.
Ye Feng breathed a sigh of relief. Zhang Qiang was still alive; the waveguides of living beings and inanimate objects are different.
Togekiss also mentioned that there are quite a few Pokémon here, but they are not very strong, generally ranging from mid-level to high-level.
Ye Feng couldn't help but feel puzzled. A Pokémon of this strength shouldn't pose much of a threat to Zhang Qiang. Was he surrounded? Or were there other Pokémon with extremely strong abilities?
Is Tokiss not aware of this because it's not there? Maybe we can take this opportunity to rescue Zhang Qiang.
With that in mind, Ye Feng and Pokkis headed towards Zhang Qiang's location.
Along the way, we did encounter some Pokémon that weren't very strong, mostly at the intermediate level, with only a very few reaching the advanced level.
Although it posed no threat to Ye Feng, considering that he was there to rescue people, Ye Feng chose to avoid it if possible. If all else failed, he would have Gardevoir use hypnosis to control the Pokémon and then leave quickly.
Soon, Ye Feng found Zhang Qiang on a plain, but...
Looking at the huge block of ice in front of him, Zhang Qiang and his Pokémon were frozen inside: Charizard, Ninetales, Volcarona, Torkoal, Venusaur, Exeggutor, Rotom Pokédex... There were no obvious injuries on their bodies.
A fairly standard Sunny Day team, perfectly suited to Zhang Qiang's main Fire-type Pokémon.
