Xiao Nian was still nervous, but got up in fright when he saw Fu Sichen and Pei Zhen confronting each other.

After seeing that Fu Sichen didn’t use the red rope to whip him, Xiao Nian started to have strange ideas. What if Fu Sichen was going to use it to torture the cat?!

Xiao Nian was afraid that his Daddy Pei Zhen’s big ego would anger Fu Sichen. Therefore, he quickly admitted his wrongdoings.

“Best Actor Fu, Pei Pei really is sorry.” Xiao Nian was sweating profusely now, “No, I meant, it was all my fault. I was the one who tricked him into opening the door, and I was the one who took him away.”

“Is that so?” Fu Sichen raised his sword-like brows, recalling the scene in the surveillance video.

The look in his eyes was complex; it was hard for anyone to tell what he was thinking.

“Best… Best Actor Fu…” Xiao Nian felt his legs giving away from Fu Sichen’s glare. He felt guilty, but still tried to explain. He thanked god when Best Actor Fu looked away.

“Look at you.” Fu Sichen addressed the cat again. He knelt down to open the cage door. “Look at what you did to him.”

Fu Sichen couldn’t bring himself to be mean to the cat. He was initially planning on using the red rope to restrain the cat, but in the end, he just couldn’t do it.

Fu Sichen didn’t understand his own emotions either. He just felt like the cat could understand what people were saying.

If he couldn’t punish the cat physically, then perhaps, it was a good idea to make the feline feel a little guilty.

Just as he expected, the moment the cage door was opened, the Persian cat immediately shot out. He jumped onto the table with a leap, and stared straight at Xiao Nian.

Xiao Nian thought that his Daddy Pei Zhen was going to be angry, and teach him a good lesson he’d never forget. He had even prepared himself to beg for forgiveness, but then, the white Persian cat walked up to him. For the very first time, the cat gently rubbed up against his hands.

Pei Zhen wasn’t a rude person.

Escaping had been his idea in the first place. Even if Xiao Nian foiled his plan by turning himself in, that had only been because they had underestimated Fu Sichen. They would never have expected that Fu Sichen would go this far for a cat.

After rubbing against Xiao Nian, Pei Zhen turned around and ran towards Fu Sichen.

Even though Fu Sichen still had an icy expression on his face, he still gave in to the cat’s actions. This time, the cat didn’t directly jump onto his head. Instead, he obediently nestled on his shoulder.

Pei Zhen rubbed against Fu Sichen’s face, even though it was difficult for him to do so, in order to further ensure Xiao Nian’s safety.

This little action by the cat was enough to make Fu Sichen’s mood pull a 180. He stretched out his hands to lightly pinch the cat’s ears, which made the cat agitated again. Then, he told Xiao Nian to leave.

“Get out. I don’t want to see you right now.”

Xiao Nian was stunned. He realized that Fu Sichen was going to let the matter rest, and was almost moved to tears, “Okay, okay. I’m leaving now.”

Before he left, the Great Manager Xiao Nian even tried to suck up to Fu Sichen by asking if he wanted some food.

“Mind your own business.”

Fu Sichen was still terribly icy, as usual. After kicking Xiao Nian out of the room, he slammed the door shut.

He opened all of the curtains in the room, letting the glittering lights shine in from outside the window.

Night had fallen.

Pei Zhen had lost track of time before this, so he only just realized that Fu Sichen had missed work that night!

“Are you hungry?” As if he was trying to confirm his guess, Fu Sichen opened up the takeout that he had bought previously. “It’s seafood. You like this, right?”

The food was packed in an insulated container, so they didn’t need to reheat it.

When the container was opened, the aroma of the food drifted out. Pei Zhen’s stomach growled mercilessly.

Seafood.

It suited his taste.

After a while, Pei Zhen started to notice that Fu Sichen had a really good understanding of his likes and dislikes.
