A young-looking girl with a blank stare clapped her hands by the river, cheering and jumping for joy as she watched the water splash.
"She's gone... Amber."
Dracula carried a bamboo basket on his back, put the petite Amber inside, and then walked towards the crowd.
"Where...are we...going?"
A hesitant question came from behind, accompanied by the sound of drooling.
Dracula didn't turn his head, stomping his foot into the yellow earth, and said succinctly as always:
"Go to a new place."
-----------------
"Dear viewers, the weather is bright and the people are cheering for victory. They have sung old songs and are now singing new ones. This is a milestone in Kakin's great journey..."
"Tsk tsk tsk..."
Under the bright sunshine, Lieutenant General Xianpei, watching and listening to the broadcast of Mumu Ze's investiture ceremony, was filled with emotion and subconsciously said:
“A month ago, probably no one could have predicted that the twelfth prince would become the crown prince. She made many people regret not taking sides in advance, Chao Yin.”
"Chao Yin? Why aren't you saying anything?"
"Are you deaf...?"
Hyun-pei turned his head away impatiently.
rustling...
There was no one beside him, only the desolate and lonely sound of rolling sand.
-----------------
The scorching afternoon sun silently bathed the earth.
A gentle breeze was blowing.
The yellow sand and dust lingered for a moment in this desolate place, then, carried by the long, melodious wind, arrived at a cemetery rarely visited by anyone.
Deep within the cemetery, shaded by trees, sunlight filters through the dappled shadows, casting a golden glow across the ground.
A middle-aged military officer with a rugged face stood in front of a stone monument, remaining silent for a long time.
"Ugh……"
Petrovsky sighed softly, brushed the dust off the stone tablet in front of him, and turned to leave.
As I stepped out of the cemetery, a gust of wind blew by, rustling the leaves.
He glanced back at the stone tablet.
It was engraved with densely packed small characters—
Bill Clintonton, Godot, a citizen of Berjaya, a lieutenant colonel, an atheist, and a contributor to the nation.
[Drea Newman, a Newderry native, a citizen of Berkeley, a major, a follower of the Third Abrahamic Order, made significant contributions to the nation.]
[Pushdona, a New Delhi native...]
……
[Chao Yin, a native of Pushidu, a citizen of Baique, a senior colonel, an atheist, who has made outstanding contributions to the country.]
End-of-volume summary
I haven't written a summary at the end of the volume before, but I suddenly feel like writing one now.
The reason is that I was moved while watching the Three Days Two Sleeps live stream. I realized that some things can only be done by experts.
For example, taking leave on the day the product is released...
Ahem, back to the present.
On the one hand, this volume is too long, and on the other hand, I am very dissatisfied with the ending.
Because it's too long, I'm too lazy to go back and reread all that nonsense I wrote, so I don't actually know where the plot took a turn.
Why can't I remember?
Because the outline has been constantly being revised.
As the plot progressed and I reread the original manga multiple times, the outline of the Kakin arc has been revised from around 3000 words to 9800 words. I estimate that the discarded outlines will be saved for the next book (it's too early to say this now, but I already have the idea for the next book).
There are a few ideas and details I wanted to write, but I didn't get to write them. First, the conflict between the Phantom Troupe and the Fourth Prince was originally planned to be very dramatic (Feitan was just about to hand in a severed head when he ran into the protagonist). Also, the original plan was for Pokkuri's companions to play a role, but I gave up on that for a simple reason—I couldn't handle so many characters.
The Kakin arc alone features over 170 characters appearing in the manga, all of whom are simultaneously engaged in various activities. This shifts the arc away from the exciting battles and power struggles of the Chimera Ant arc, moving towards more nuanced dramatic scenes. I believe Yoshihiro Togashi can handle this; he has the talent, and he only updates ten chapters every two years. But I can't do that. My novels inevitably include original characters. So now I understand why so many Hunter x Hunter fanfics fail to follow Togashi's original vision and still manage to write a compelling Kakin arc.
I spend a lot of time every day watching analyses by experts on Bilibili, Tieba, and YouTube. They mention a lot of novel viewpoints, and I've written them all down.
This will definitely be useful in the next book (referring to writing about Kakin next time, not that it will be the end).
Overall, however, the construction of this chapter was beyond my capabilities.
[The areas where martial arts fall short are beyond my reach, and I cannot see them.]
Here's a point I haven't written down, but I really want to sneak in my own thoughts on.
In comics, very few people pay attention to this.
The crown on Melina's head is the thorn crown of your first lover, King Su...
I probably don't need to explain the symbolic meaning of the crown of thorns in theological field. The reason I'm emphasizing this point is because it reminds me of the story of God's flood that destroyed the world.
In ancient times, an angel had an affair with a human woman and gave birth to the Nephilim.
The Nephilim were born with superhuman strength; they were... giants (laughs). They committed evil deeds, and at the same time, the world was filled with sin, so God decided to destroy the world.
The righteous Noah was commanded to build the Ark, and together with his son, daughter-in-law, and 14 pure animals, he preserved the fire of humankind.
In the comics, the Black Whale is an unprecedented giant ark, floating on an endless ocean.
However, there's a woman in the Ark wearing a crown of thorns, who's determined to wipe out all humanity. This kind of connection, while useless to the plot, is like a series of little Easter eggs that are quite interesting to discover.
Furthermore, the cover of chapter 411 of the manga features the fourth prince cosplaying as Jesus, which perfectly fits the Nephilim's image (he is holding Pyro's head in his hand; I guess Pyro, as a Kurta with an eye disease, has unusual eye color, making him the only collectible that the fourth prince carries).
In addition, there is also Chairman Netero, who cosplays as your grandfather Siddhartha using his compassionate palm to knock down the ant king (he is not making a gesture, but rather making a flower-pointing gesture).
And there's the cross on Ms. Kita's chest that I didn't post a picture of, but it's very cute. I mentioned it before, and it's one of my favorite character elements.
So I added the pious rupee, originally intending to sneak this part in, and even planned a cosplay segment of justification by faith and Saint Peter, the five loaves and two fish, but I abandoned it in the end because it was meaningless.
That's enough of the preamble.
Next up is the final volume of this book, the Chimera Ant King arc, and I don't know if there will be any content about the Dark Continent, but I estimate that this volume won't be very long, which means the countdown to the end is already on.
Hunter x Hunter 411 will officially begin serialization tomorrow, the 29th, and thereafter it should be updated once a week for ten consecutive weeks, or two and a half months.
If I update one chapter a day, it will be equivalent to about 75 chapters when Togashi finishes serialization.
The book will be finished by then.
If I don't have enough time, I'll shorten the outline and plot, but I'll do everything I can to catch up (exciting)!
Of course, a story should have a beginning and an end. The ending of this book was already set at the beginning. It will be a cliché happy ending. There are no open endings or blanks. Readers who want to see that kind of ending can ignore the ending and cosplay as an open ending (laughs).
Chapter 461 A Night of Tossing and Turning × Chimera Ant
The first Friday of April.
The prevailing westerly winds of the North Atlantic bring a mild and cool climate, offering some solace to the restless people of Kakin.
Many days have passed since the peak of the epidemic, and with the widespread availability of vaccines and effective drugs, the global viral surge has gradually subsided.
Three days ago.
Keedo spent several hours writing a research report on the new vaccine and the virus, which was eventually incorporated into the global public health system, becoming another major achievement in her career.
At the same time, because I had been away from the association for too long, the pandemic had just come under control.
Having lost all reason to linger in Kajin, Kido was finally driven away by the persistent Mumu Ze.
On the day she returned, Mumu Ze danced with joy and cheered.
Then, in front of her, Keita kissed Dia goodbye.
Mumu Ze almost exploded at her on the spot.
Similarly, Pokson, who was invited to become the secretary of the association's vice president, also boarded the same airship as Kido.
She didn't do any goodbye kiss.
It wasn't because Mu Muze was about to cry, but because she could come back anytime she wanted; there was no need for a goodbye...
"Chirp, chirp, chirp..."
The chirping of birds in the early morning drifted through the window frame.
Diya opened her eyes, slowly sat up, and shook her head, feeling slightly more awake.
"Well……"
Seemingly startled by his movement, the person beside him uttered a muffled warning.
Diya turned her head to look and saw a small head tucked under the blanket, with only the top of the head showing.
"Get up, Your Highness."
He called out softly.
The little head shook and burrowed deep into the blanket.
It seems she doesn't want to get up.
'Never mind, let her rest.'
Diya didn't mind and got out of bed to put on her clothes neatly.
We've already spent half the night trying to keep her awake, so there's no need to disturb her sleep now.
