"Is it stuck?"
But the star remained motionless.
She was being held in Morion's hand, her amber eyes wide as she stared at him.
Moraine was even more confused.
He then realized that Xing was actually different from himself.
She wasn't able to familiarize herself with her dream body immediately after entering the dream world. It was only after encountering the little bird siblings from the paradise upon entering Pinocchio that she was able to successfully become familiar with her dream body, thanks to the help of the robin who "tuned" her.
Moraine glanced back and, sure enough, he saw the familiar Chicken Wings siblings in the crowd not far away, as well as Sunday and Robin who were watching them.
Sunday's eyes held a scrutinizing gaze, while the robin's expression seemed mostly worried.
But neither of them stepped forward.
It's probably because Morion went up to pick up the person early, and they assumed Morion could handle it.
Morion turned his head back to look at the star in his hand that was still staring at him with wide eyes.
Could it be that because I interrupted the original process, Xing failed to get "tuned", and something went wrong as a result?
This is not good...
Just then, Xing suddenly showed a dejected expression.
"So you can't hear me?"
"What?" Moraine asked, puzzled.
I can't hear anything.
“You just put your voice directly into my head. I thought we had some kind of telepathic connection. I was just trying to talk to you in my mind,” Xing said earnestly, pointing to her head.
Upon hearing her words, Moraine immediately chuckled.
He put Xing back on the ground, made her stand up again, and withdrew his hand.
"Haha, of course, I can hear you if I want to."
“However, I rarely take the initiative to eavesdrop on other people’s thoughts,” Morion explained gently.
"You know, that's not polite."
No one wants to have no privacy whatsoever in front of others.
“Oh, I thought…” Xing looked even more frustrated.
Moraine quickly understood what she was thinking.
He maintained his Otto-esque smile, one hand behind his back, the other outstretched, and said:
"You think I also have a star core inside my body, right?"
Direct telepathy is something Xing has encountered before.
Xing once encountered a star core on a planet called "Yaliluo VI". There, she heard the "voice of the star core" that others could not hear, and even made direct contact with the star core.
"It's a pity I'm not your brother or sister."
"That's a pity." Xing staggered a few steps, as if she were drunk, and her steps were unsteady.
"By the way, why don't any options pop up when we chat with you? Are you a special NPC?" Xing asked Morion with a curious tone.
“Heh, you don’t know this, do you? Actually, I am the [Breeding] Star God,” Morion replied. “So I’m different from ordinary NPCs.”
"You're using a fixed conversation with me right now, and fixed conversations don't have options."
"Oh, I see." Xing suddenly realized.
"Hello, hello, I am the Star God of Pioneers." Star extended his hand to shake hands with Morion.
Because of her lack of coordination, her hands were somewhat unsteady in mid-air.
"So you're the Star God of Pioneers? I've heard so much about you." Morion shook her hand. "Nice to meet you, nice to meet you."
Not far away, the little bird siblings looked at each other, watching the conversation between the two.
I came to observe on Sunday because I noticed a star nucleus had moved into Pinocene and wanted to test it out.
And that's what happened.
He looked at his sister and noticed that she was looking at him too.
Both he and the robin could see the bewilderment in each other's eyes.
It's been a long time since I've seen a patient with such a two-way exchange of illness.
Meanwhile, while Morion was still having a patient support session with Xing, a voice interrupted.
Her voice is very gentle and pleasant to listen to.
"Excuse me, are you two alright?"
Morion and Star looked over at the same time and saw a girl from the Sky Ring Clan.
The girl had long, light blue-purple hair with feathered ears, a headdress with a ring, and wore a long dress. She was looking at Xing with a worried expression.
This is the world-famous singer, The Robin.
Behind her was her brother, Sunday.
He was dressed in a sharp suit, his earlobes drooping slightly, one arm behind his back, his gaze sweeping over Xing in a way that was not offensive.
Moraine knew them: a brother who wanted to protect his sister, and a sister who knew her brother wanted to protect her, so she always pretended to be vulnerable.
"I... feel a little dizzy," Xing answered truthfully.
"I see."
Sunday, behind the robin, spoke softly.
"It seems this guest isn't used to the transition from reality to a dream. Don't worry, this 'weightlessness' is common among travelers entering a dream for the first time."
"Really?" Xing scratched his head.
She raised her hand and scratched her head two or three times before finally finding it.
“Pinocone’s dream is essentially a world made up of ‘memory matter.’ Only by mastering its properties can you move freely within it,” Sunday explained.
"Just like someone who is new to swimming, they often sink because they cannot accurately adapt to the buoyancy. But once your body gets used to the water flow, you can float freely on the surface of the water."
"So, I can fly freely now?" Xing focused on other important points.
"Hehe, theoretically it's possible, but extremely difficult," Sunday chuckled.
"After all, our understanding of memory is only superficial."
“Apart from the memory users of the Flowing Light Memory Garden, it is difficult for ordinary people to manipulate memory matter at will. But it doesn’t matter. Under the tuning of [Harmony], you can basically rely entirely on the physical laws of reality to move around in the dream.”
At this point, Sunday seemed to realize that he had said a bit too much.
"Oh dear... look at me, my occupational hazard has kicked in again. I just can't shake this habit of being a know-it-all."
“Robin, please help our friend adapt to this beautiful dream.” He turned to look at his sister.
“Yes, leave it to me,” the robin nodded.
The robin nodded slightly to her brother, then looked into the star with her green eyes.
She smiled, and Xing saw ripples in her lake-green eyes, and saw a huge whirlpool rising from the depths of the pool.
Xing's vision suddenly dimmed, and she felt her body begin to dissolve, merging with the surrounding memory matter.
They resonated, vibrated, blending together at a calming frequency. Her heart was pounding, leading a concerto.
"It's alright, relax, it will pass soon," the robin said gently.
Then, the robin began to hum a melody softly.
A chorus began.
A warmth emanated from within, filling her entire body. The melody slowed and faded, like a lullaby. A seven-colored illusion gently caressed her head, closing her eyes with tenderness and affection.
She felt comfortable and drifted off to sleep. When she opened her eyes again, everything that had just happened seemed compressed into a single moment. Her thoughts could no longer grasp them, but her body was refreshed by that brief moment of peaceful sleep.
“Alright, now you have complete control of the dream. Welcome to Pinocchio.” The robin stopped “tuning.” “You can try moving your body.”
Xing obediently moved her body and found that the feeling of being dizzy and lightheaded was indeed gone.
"He's a miracle doctor!" Xing gave a thumbs up.
The robin covered its mouth and chuckled softly.
Tuning, in essence, is about adjusting one's mind and body.
Xing generously allowed the robin to help "tune" her body, which indeed made her body more adapted to this dream world. However, the robin had also gained a general understanding of her body's various data.
However, Xing didn't care.
As far back as she can remember, she has been in a storage room on a space station, where people try to use her for research every day, and she always cooperates.
I'm used to it.
After a brief farewell to Star, Robin nodded to both Star and Moraine.
"Well then, please enjoy the dreamland that the family has created for you all. We'll take our leave now."
Have fun!
Having achieved its purpose of testing, the robin had no further reason to remain there.
"Okay." Xing waved goodbye.
On Sunday, he nodded slightly, then turned and left with his sister.
He didn't pay much attention to Moraine.
He was there to test the pioneer and didn't care about strangers.
The robin, however, seemed to have sensed something from Morion.
She went further down the path of harmony than her brother.
She sensed an "incongruity" in Morion.
She could sense that Morion seemed to have "his own style."
