"Sora, we're trapped in Fuyuki City!" he said, his face darkening.
"Huh? What do you mean, Kenneth!"
“A…very large, incredible barrier covered the entire Fuyuki,” Kenneth explained in a way Sora could understand.
278 >>
"This barrier shields Fuyuki City from the outside world, ensuring that no one can go outside, while at the same time making the whole world justify it."
"Anyone who tries to leave will be sent to some unknown place. However, those who are associated with the Holy Grail or Servants will retain their memories and still be unable to leave. Sora, you are an exception!"
"Huh? How could there be magic on this scale..."
“Yes!” Kenneth said decisively.
"When the former Grand Marshal of the Magic Path, Lord Zelrich, shot down the Crimson Moon, it was he, along with the Dean and many other great magicians, who jointly set up a similar barrier to ensure that this event would not be observed by any ordinary person!"
Magic tricks and enchantments that could deceive the world might seem impossible to an inexperienced magician, but Kenneth believed that while rare, such possibilities existed in history.
Without exception, these all involve extremely serious issues.
Zhu Yue is one example, and Crystal Valley in South America is another.
The thought that his place had become an area of equal danger and difficulty to those two places sent chills down Kenneth's spine!
The Holy Grail War he knew was definitely not this dangerous; it seems his memories are unreliable.
"What should we do then? Let's call Lancer back first!" Sora was a little scared, but her goal was clearly still to get Kenneth to retrieve Diarmuid.
Kenneth was about to speak when he suddenly looked surprised.
"Lancer is dead?!"
"You inhuman bastard!!!" Sora slammed a furious punch into his shoulder.
In short, Diarmuid's sudden death successfully dispelled Kenneth's idea of bringing him back to work as a security guard.
Kenneth had to face a terrible reality: in Fuyuki City, a place fraught with danger and where who knows what bombs might be planted, he didn't even have a single Servant to provide security!
He can't run away, and he can't fight back. Kenneth is really stuck in a dilemma!
So, he ultimately decided to risk going back to see the situation clearly.
Then he found Weber, and then—he had no choice but to work with his good-for-nothing student who even stole his things!
There was no way around it; after all, he still had a Rider in his grasp. Iskandar, the Conqueror King, was a powerful Servant, no doubt about it!
"The curse on your hand comes from a Noble Phantasm..."
Kenneth stared at Iskandar's bleeding arm, his face darkening, and felt a splitting headache.
"Such injuries cannot be healed with ordinary healing magic; the source of the curse must be destroyed."
"What? I heard from Master that you were a very powerful magician, but I didn't expect you to be so mediocre!"
Iskandar withdrew his hand and said in a rather indifferent tone.
"Wouldn't this be too hurtful to him..." Weber muttered softly.
"I'll hurt your head!!!" Kenneth's veins bulged as he glared fiercely at Webber, making Webber's face turn pale.
"You think I can't cure you? But even if I could, what good would it do?" He looked at Iskandar and said sarcastically.
"At most, your injured hand means you can't use your chariot as much, but even if you could, with this idiot's magic power supply, could your Noble Phantasm be a match for those otherworldly Servants and that saint who is even more exaggerated than a god?"
"That's a very hurtful thing to say, but it is indeed quite difficult!" Iskandar readily admitted.
Just as Webber was feeling utterly ashamed, Iskandar patted him on the head and grinned at Kenneth.
"But at least my little Master has the courage to fight alongside me on the battlefield, instead of hiding in the safe and betraying his servant!"
Surprisingly, Kenneth didn't get angry at Iskandar's sarcasm. Instead, he took a sip of tea and said coldly...
"Getting excited won't change reality. We're forced into this game without even knowing the rules, and our cards are absolutely terrible!"
He glanced at the Conqueror King. Although it was a better card than his Diarmuid, there wasn't a single normal person in this Holy Grail War.
He looked at Weber, pondered for a moment, and said seriously.
“Waver Velvet, I, Kenneth El-Melloi I, head of House Archibald, monarch of the Minerals Department, wish to enter into a contract with you!”
“Eek! Me, me?” Weber pointed to himself.
"Although I am very reluctant to sign a contract with an ignorant and ungrateful fool, I have to rely on your strength if I want to leave here alive."
Kenneth pulled out a pre-written self-imposed essay from somewhere and handed it to Weber, arrogantly saying...
"Read it carefully and sign it, Weber. If things go smoothly, I will forgive your actions and it wouldn't be a bad idea to take you under my wing, El-Melloi."

Kenneth was a strong-willed man, and even in such an extremely unfavorable situation where the problem was unclear, he still craved victory.
Of course, this is also because he couldn't escape; otherwise, the importance of Sora's safety would be higher in his eyes than the victory of a war.
Although he no longer has any Servants, his Command Seals remain, indicating that he is still qualified to contract Servants.
There seem to be no more Servants outside the arena, but as long as the Command Seals are still active, Kenneth knows that he is still a part of the Holy Grail War system.
If that's the case, there's still hope!
"Wave, you should know that it is your lack of ability as a Master that has dragged down the Rider's attributes and Noble Phantasm."
Kenneth, in a superior position, lectured Waver on the fundamentals of the Conjuration Studies.
"A Servant's Spirit Origin is adjusted in strength based on the magical energy provided by their Master—don't argue with me! I'm giving a lecture!"
He glared at Iskandar, who was about to interrupt, but actually managed to cut in, continuing to stare intently at Waver, who was hanging his head.
"Weber, your grades are good, but your talent as a magician is decisively poor. That's something you were born with, so I won't bother saying anything more."
"You mean things would be different if you were Rider's Master?" Waver retorted, his neck red.
"No, that doesn't change anything."
Surprisingly, Kenneth denied this claim. He shook his head, looked at his still distraught fiancée beside him, and said frankly...
"The double mana offering that Sora and I made did provide Lacner with excellent attributes, but it wasn't enough to affect his Spirit Origin. The same goes for Rider; our mana can only enhance the power and attributes of Noble Phantasms, not change them themselves."
"What is needed to cause a spirit origin correction is a massive amount of magic power, as well as a very deep understanding and application of spirit summoning techniques."
He pointed his thumb to himself and said proudly.
"And my mentor, Euryphus, is the monarch of the Spellcasting Department. I am also the youngest Spellcasting lecturer in the Clock Tower. In terms of understanding Spellcasting magic, I am at least among the top three in the Clock Tower!"
"And—" Kenneth raised his voice, pointing proudly and smugly to the side.
"Look what I brought!"
Weber blinked; he only saw two things that looked like furnaces.
"You... sigh, so you're just an ignorant modern magician." Seeing Webber's bewildered expression, Kenneth, realizing he'd misjudged the person, pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.
“Those are the two magic furnaces I brought. One of them was even something I obtained with great difficulty. It is a rare treasure made from fragments of Albion.”
"So you're supplying your Lacner with these things?" Iskandar suddenly retorted.
"It's him!" Kenneth glared fiercely at Webber, whose head was shrank even lower, and panted heavily.
"This magic furnace was originally meant for your use, but it ended up being a backup. Who knew the Lacner summoned would be like this..."
Out of consideration for his fiancée, Kenneth didn't completely rule it out, but it was still quite ridiculous.
These two magic furnaces, if used to supply magic to Gilgamesh, would probably be enough for him to unleash his Noble Phantasms non-stop for seven days. Yet, they summoned Diarmuid, who doesn't require much magic power.
What's the difference between doing this and putting water on a tap with a dam? And then, thinking about how history was blown up by that damned wild dog, Kenneth was even more furious.
Forget it, I don't want to think about these things anymore.
Kenneth took a deep breath to recover from his headache, then said in a low voice
"It's not too late now. I want to share my master-servant relationship with Rider. We both still have Command Seals, and I can access the Holy Grail War's contract system to modify the relevant content, allowing Iskandar to add me and Sora to his offerings."
"Then I can graft the magic furnace onto Rider, making five magic sources including you."
"Oh, oh, oh, that's great!" Iskandar struck a muscle pose and laughed loudly.
"In that case, everyone in my army will be able to come out and fight for me individually!"
“No,” Kenneth denied Iskandar’s idea.
"The greatest contribution of your Noble Phantasm, the Reality Marble: Army of the King, is nothing more than releasing the Heroic Spirits that were once your subordinates. But even if you create a large army of Servants, it will hardly play a decisive role in the battle."
"Oh? How do you know what my treasure is?" Iskandar's eyes flashed with a sharp light.
"Consider it my skill as a magician," Kenneth said expressionlessly.
"But in short, Conqueror King, even if you completely unleash your army, are you really confident you can withstand the release of all the remaining Noble Phantasms from that otherworldly Lu Bu?"
279 >>
Iskandar pondered for a moment, then shook his head.
No, this isn't a matter of confidence; it's a matter of simply being unable to do it.
Announcement: Update coming soon, please stay tuned http://
Iskandar's army of kings' greatest contribution is summoning his former subordinates, the future kings who are also Heroic Spirits, and the only ones he can summon at his greatest extent are these few—
Pharaoh Ptolemy, Antigonus the war god, King Borus of Maharaja in India, Leonardo the governor of Phrygia, and the strategist Hephaestion
It looks impressive, but his inherent barrier can't possibly maintain the capacity to unleash all his Noble Phantasms.
And even if it could be maintained—the specifications would still be far from sufficient.
Reality is not a game. You can't kill your opponent just by unleashing multiple Noble Phantasms and dealing enough damage. In a battle of moves, the difference between strong and weak lies in quality, not quantity.
The Noble Phantasm of that terrifying otherworldly Lu Bu is an anti-personnel Noble Phantasm. Although it is extremely destructive, its essence is always aimed at the individual. What would happen if that day-eating Lu Bu directly attacked Iskandar and dragged such an enemy into the Reality Marble?
