“I just feel…” Evan shrugged.
"What he gave me yesterday was unusual."
He walked to the bedside, took one of the remaining four bottles of brown liquid from the inside pocket of his jacket, and handed it to the bed.
Hill took the medicine bottle, unsealed it, and brought it to his nose to smell it.
Her face immediately darkened.
"Diluted conversion potion. You ate it?"
Ivan nodded.
"Hmm, I feel pretty good."
Hill's lips twitched twice.
"Can you let me taste a drop of your blood?"
Ibn instinctively took half a step back.
"I'm afraid of pain."
Hill's golden vertical pupils narrowed.
"What's a grown man afraid of?"
As soon as she finished speaking, she flipped her wrist, and a silver needle as thin as a hair slid out from between her fingers.
She grasped Evan's left hand and gently pricked the tip of his index finger with the needle, instantly drawing out a dark red bead of blood.
Hill stuck out the tip of his tongue and gently licked the bead of blood.
I savored it carefully for three seconds.
Then her expression completely changed.
"Ugh! Ptooey! Ptooey ptooey!"
She suddenly turned around, rushed to the toilet, and vomited several times into it.
Evan watched her retreating figure; her beautiful face was now covered with deep black veins.
It stretches upwards from the jaw to the side of the neck, like a living, constantly twisting and growing black vine.
Her long golden hair faded to white at a visible rate, eventually turning into a moonlight-like silver.
Those golden vertical pupils actually emitted a faint light in the dim light of the bathroom.
"Verdammt!"
She gritted her teeth as she rinsed her mouth.
"Is your blood all medicine?"
"Your single drop of blood has actually triggered my Black Blood System!"
Chapter 41: Warriors of the Demon Hunter Circle
Hill's face was filled with shock and bewilderment.
Seeing the pale and alluring witch, Evan, feeling a wicked thought creeping into his mind, quickly changed the subject.
This kind of alluring and slightly wicked mature woman really appeals to Evan's taste.
What is the Black Blood System?
Hill turned his head, his golden vertical pupils staring straight at him, as if he were looking at a person with three heads.
She took a deep breath and began to explain.
“Once the Witcher’s traits are activated, there are three main characteristics: white hair, golden vertical pupils, and black blood.”
"All potions are highly poisonous. Witchers rely on potions to fight, so they must have a powerful detoxification system to combat these toxins."
"This system allows us to take multiple potions at the same time, combining different effects for use in battle."
"Black blood is an important component of this, and can be considered a hallmark product of resistance to toxicity."
She pointed to her neck.
"And that drop of blood you just shed was used as a magic potion by my Black Blood System."
"Damn it, the toxicity in your blood is almost as high as if I had drunk a bottle of Poison Lizard Potion."
Ivan blinked, trying to ease the tension.
"Perhaps you're being too sensitive?"
"Ha ha……"
Hill discovered that people can actually laugh in exasperation when they are utterly speechless.
She took a handkerchief out of her pocket and wiped her mouth, the handkerchief immediately getting stained with the black liquid she vomited.
"You brat, let me put it this way."
She pointed to Evan's chest.
"You don't have a single drop of clean blood on you right now. It's all medicine."
"This blood... no, it should be called bodily fluid, is enough to temporarily paralyze a low-level bloodthirsty species."
Upon hearing this, Ivan felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction and pride welling up inside him.
So taking too much medicine can actually have such amazing effects on the blood!?
"Master, will you protect me secretly?"
He asked tentatively.
“My blood is definitely useless against Pris, and if he attacks directly, I won’t last more than a few seconds.”
Hill had by this time mostly digested the poison.
She spat another mouthful of black saliva into the toilet, and the black veins on her neck faded away at a visible speed. Her golden vertical pupils turned back to blue, and her silver hair slowly regained its original warm gold color.
"I don't have time," she said, straightening her collar which she had torn apart.
"I've been busy with other work lately."
She paused for a moment.
"But I'll have my senior brother come and protect you. It's a good opportunity for you two to get to know each other; you'll all be brothers from the same sect from now on."
"He's much better than me."
She pulled her hat brim down a little and blinked.
"Just continue attending classes as usual. Starting today, he will be keeping an eye on you in secret."
"Anyone who wants to take action directly has to get past him first."
After hearing this, Ivan's shoulders relaxed completely.
"Thank you so much. Now I can continue taking my medication with peace of mind."
Hill's lips twitched.
Evan glanced at his pocket watch; it was almost seven o'clock.
He quickly grabbed his schoolbag and rushed out of the washroom.
"Master, I'm leaving now, or I'll miss the tram."
Hill was left standing alone in the bathroom.
She watched Evan's figure disappear through the door, then leaned against the edge of the sink and shook her head helplessly.
"Are all the people in Arkham this strange?"
Evan boarded the tram on time and arrived at school before 7:30, as usual.
Today's classes were the same as before.
But he could clearly feel that the way his classmates looked at him had become much more peaceful.
The events that happened on the playground yesterday have undoubtedly been spread by Miss Hearst, who is the focus of the entire school.
A person of her status can change the "class" of a poor student in the eyes of a rich kid in just one night with a single sentence.
Most importantly, this poor boy did not overstep his bounds after Miss Hearst spoke to him.
This led the wealthy young men to believe that Ivan was a sensible person who knew his place.
The hostility naturally decreased significantly.
11:00 AM.
Halfway through the chemistry lesson, Professor Mons had just erased one line of the equations on the blackboard.
A series of prompts suddenly popped up on Ivan's panel.
88 hours have passed.
[You reversed the side effects of the incomplete Demon Hunter Transformation Potion.]
Your memory has been greatly enhanced, and your mental strength has been permanently increased by 0.3.
Your sense of taste has been greatly enhanced, and your constitution has been permanently increased by 0.1.
Your reproductive ability has been greatly increased, and your physical constitution has been permanently increased by 0.3.
Ivan sat in the last row, staring at the few lines of text on the panel, and almost choked on the sip of water he had just drunk.
He quickly lowered his head, pretending to write notes, but actually he was mentally ranting.
"Goodness."
"Are the side effects of this medicine memory loss, loss of taste, and even infertility?"
But upon further reflection, he immediately understood the logic behind it.
Taking large amounts of magic potions will inevitably damage brain nerves; this is an undeniable fact.
As a profession based on potions, memory loss is an unavoidable consequence for witchers.
