Ivan's first stop was the David's house in the west of the city.

Since the school starts its Christmas break on the 23rd, and the holiday lasts until January 4th, he has plenty of free time. (Note 1)

Forty minutes later, Evan arrived at David's house and saw David wearing a winter fur coat, hurrying out.

David was overjoyed to see Ivan return. He quickly went up to him, gave him a hug, and then handed him a betel nut.

"Want to try some?"

Ivan didn't stand on ceremony, took the food, and put it in his mouth. While chewing, he asked, "The Doctor must have told you about Hill's situation, right?"

David nodded, gave a thumbs up, and said, "Well done! You truly inherited your teacher's extraordinary qualities; you're always reliable!"

Evan stood on tiptoe and looked inside, but didn't see Richard and Erlon: "I heard from the Doctor that you two have been very busy lately?"

David nodded as he chewed: "Recently, for some reason, there have been a lot of potion-related accidents in the city."

"Our initial assessment is that someone is deliberately using these difficult potion cases to distract the task force."

"But we haven't been able to find the source."

Hearing this, Ivan's eyes lit up: "Potions are flooding the market? That's a good thing!"

David sighed as he looked at the strange expression on Ivan's face.

He's gotten used to this guy's mental state now.

Chapter 205: We've decided, you'll be the faction leader!

David put his arm around Evan's shoulder and said, "Thanks to your protection, we've gotten a lot of work lately."

"You know, these are the kinds of good jobs that organizations like the Brotherhood of Secrets can get!"

“Right now, Erlong is with Richard in the north of the city dealing with a potion case. Since the matter is quite complicated, I came back to find some tools.”

Ivan nodded upon hearing this, and then he saw David holding a long pole with a lasso attached to the end.

"What are they trying to do!?"

David sighed, "I don't know which bastard smeared some diluted potion on the rats."

"These rats are hiding in the sewers and in the cracks in the walls of the houses, and they smell like magic potions everywhere."

"This caused many people to experience hallucinations or panic after smelling it, and some even became manic."

Ivan raised an eyebrow slightly: "Isn't the beastly nature supposed to be immune to evaporation?"

David said, "That's because during the refining process, the extraordinary aura that forms after the material will evaporate."

"Otherwise, where do you think that extraordinary aura came from when you took the potion!"

Hearing this, Ivan grinned: "That's great! I'm best at catching mice!"

David immediately put his arm around Ivan's shoulder: "That's what I've been waiting for you to say!"

Then the two of them, chewing betel nuts, got into David's carriage and quickly left.

Thirty minutes later, the two arrived at Haicha Street.

This is an old neighborhood located on the north side of the city, near the coastline, and its overall architectural style is similar to that of Guding Street.

Rows of low brick and stone buildings are crammed together, with unmelted snow still pressing on the eaves, and the sea breeze carrying the salty smell travels through the narrow alleys.

The population density here is quite high, making it a gathering place for the lower classes.

At that moment, at the entrance of an apartment building, Richard, dressed in thick winter clothes, and Erlon, wearing a black missionary robe and with a slicked-back hairstyle, appeared to be negotiating with someone.

As David parked the carriage, Evan tiptoed over.

"Auntie, please listen to me, we really didn't come here to steal anything," Richard pleaded earnestly.

Then the woman inside said warily, "I've seen plenty of people like you! Get out of here right now, I don't have any rats in my house!"

Upon hearing this, Ivan roughly understood what it meant.

The rats, tainted with the magic potion, seemed to be hiding in this woman's house.

The old woman had no intention of letting them in.

Erlong was about to speak when Ivan walked over with a smile and said, "Leave this to me."

Upon hearing Ivan's voice, the two turned around in surprise.

At that moment, the old woman slammed the door shut.

Richard and his companion were quite surprised and led Ivan to the side of the street.

"Arkham! When did you get back?" Erron asked in surprise.

Ivan laughed and said, "Last night, I also took the opportunity to complete a task assigned by Dr. Armitage."

After a quick exchange of pleasantries, Ivan, holding his large orange cat, said, "This is my new familiar, a real expert at catching mice!"

"Leave the rats in this neighborhood to me. Now, I need three people to do something important for me."

The three nodded, and Ivan continued, "I have a huge pile of rubble from some kind of idol in my house."

“These things are too conspicuous in my house, so I plan to put them in David’s cellar.”

After a moment's thought, Erlong asked, "Are you sure there are no supernatural traces on these fragments of stone from the statues?"

Evan shook his head: "No, these are some of the core ingredients for my future potion-making."

David's eyes lit up: "What kind of magic potion?"

Ivan looked around, then led the three of them into the carriage.

After setting up a spiritual veil inside the carriage, Evan took out a handful of white pills from his pocket.

"A magic potion!?" The three looked at the pills in Ivan's hand with some surprise on their faces.

Evan nodded: "I've tried it myself, and the side effects are similar to those of a basic temporary potion."

David took the potion and examined it: "This is the first time I've ever seen a solid potion that isn't packaged in a bottle."

Erlong asked curiously, "What is the use of this medicine?"

Ivan took a deep breath: "Can I trust you all?!"

As he spoke, his golden vertical pupils swept across the faces of the three people.

"I can tell you all definitively that this potion will be the core competitive advantage of our demon-hunting faction for a long time to come."

Hearing these shocking words and seeing the unusual seriousness on Ivan's face, the three of them immediately dropped their casualness.

Richard took a deep breath and raised his finger: "I swear by the four generations of demon hunter heritage within me! I will keep this secret forever and never betray you!"

David and Erlon then followed suit and swore an oath, declaring their stance.

Ivan nodded in agreement.

Oaths made in the extraordinary world are on a completely different level from oaths made by ordinary people.

This thing has a far greater binding force on extraordinary individuals than the law has on ordinary people.

Evan then said seriously, "After taking this potion, it can buffer the side effects of other potions."

Upon hearing this effect, the three people's golden vertical pupils immediately contracted, filled with incredible shock.

Ivan picked up the pill and twirled it a couple of times: "It can buffer the side effects that are roughly equivalent to two bottles of intermediate-level temporary potions."

! ! ! !

Upon hearing this, the three brothers felt their minds go blank.

A few seconds later, Richard was the first to come to his senses. He grabbed Ivan's shoulder, his lips trembling from the cold, and asked, "Ivan! Are...are you sure!?"

"What kind of buffer is this?"

Ivan grasped Richard's rough, large hand:

"For the next hour, the side effects of the potion you take will be borne by the potion itself and will not cause any harm to your bodies."

"The side effects of this potion are a temporary decrease in blood quality and a slight decrease in bone density over the next twelve hours."

David opened his mouth wide, and his instinctive chewing stopped completely.

Erlong, standing to the side, stared wide-eyed, his lips trembling, but he couldn't utter a word.

As the senior disciple, Richard scratched his head with his thick fingers, quickly digesting the sensational, even upheaval-inducing, content that Ivan had just said.

"Is it real...? I can't be dreaming, can I?"

Ivan grinned and joked, "Try one and you'll see!"

Upon hearing this, the three immediately reached out and said in unison, "I'll go first!"

Ivan smiled and waved his hand: "There's no need to make it seem like a life-or-death separation. I've already tested the effects of this medicine myself."

As he spoke, he took out a bottle of shark potion from his waist pouch: "This stuff has the most obvious negative effects, give it a try."

Then David took the lead and said, "Of the three of us, I have the most experience trying potions. You two can both get lost!"

David crunched the potion down and swallowed it.

Then, several black veins appeared on David's neck and face.

The two people hurriedly asked, "How are you feeling?"

David blinked and said, "It feels like my whole body is inflated, and the muscles and blood vessels inside are like many cavities."

"Especially the buttocks area, it feels a bit swollen."

"But it doesn't matter."

Upon hearing this, Ivan coughed and thought to himself, "Could it be that my blood has recorded my habit of frequently using my rectum?"

“That’s actually possible. Elting said that vampire blood can hold a lot of things…”

"Oh well, it doesn't matter, they don't know anyway."

David said, taking the shark potion and drinking it.

The next second, something amazing happened.

Under the watchful eyes of Richard and Erlon, David, after drinking the second potion, did not develop any new black veins on his face.
