As for how to view the days leading up to the exchange, what else can Lindsay say? Just consider it as her working overtime outside!
"Uh, there's something I'm not sure if I should say."
Gawain blinked: "Personally, I think that even if you exchange it for another Sun Artifact, the Hexagram Holy Sword won't go with you. Who knows, I might end up with two artifacts."
Holy crap, it really is!
Lindsay thought for a moment. The arrogant and aloof Six-Pointed Holy Sword was already a difficult type to please among the holy artifacts. Yet, once Gawain handled it, it immediately became completely obedient and impossible to drive away. If it were another good-natured holy artifact, such as one that was considerate, intellectually elegant, cheerful and generous, or stubbornly proud, wouldn't Gawain have given in at a glance?
If that's the case, he didn't just exchange the six-pointed holy sword for the Dawn Church; he clearly handed over the key to the Church's sacred artifact warehouse to Gawain, allowing him to come and go as he pleased and transform all the artifacts into his own shape.
So, is the Hexagram Holy Sword truly gone forever?
Lindsay's face was unusually pale. He wanted to find someone to cry to and complain about his grievances, but this matter was too outrageous. If he weren't the victim, he wouldn't believe it himself. For the time being, he really didn't know who to cry to.
Suddenly, Lindsay thought of a possibility: if the Hexagram Holy Sword really didn't come back, could bringing Gawain into the Church of Dawn be considered another way of reconciliation?
Snapped!
Lindsay slapped her forehead. She had been so focused on bringing the victim into the picture that she had forgotten that her initial goal was to recruit Gawain and that the Hexagram Holy Sword would eventually be entrusted to him.
The process is simply reversed, but the result is the same!
It didn't feel so bitter anymore!
"Gauss, what do you think of the Church of Dawn?"
“Bullying others with their power, arrogant and disrespectful, spreading rumors and engaging in monopolistic practices…” Gawain rattled off hundreds of different idioms to describe the Dawn Church.
“That’s right, those are all the truth. It’s clear that you think the Church of Dawn is perfect and flawless, with almost no faults to be found.” Lindsay nodded in deep agreement.
There are no derogatory terms; they are all realistic descriptions of strength, and there's nothing to be ashamed of.
"Brother Lindsay can't get the holy artifact back, so he's trying to cut his losses and recruit me into the Church of Dawn?" Gawain asked warily.
“You can’t say that. I’ve had my eye on you from the very beginning. The Temple of All Things is not good enough for you. Come to our Church of Dawn!” Lindsay formally extended the invitation.
What can the Church of Dawn give me?
Gawain said earnestly, "I'm not bragging, but the Temple of All Things, as soon as they saw my talent, immediately assigned me as the vice-captain to be a knight. I just said that the saintess was alright looking, and the Pope immediately made her retire and told me to watch her performance and not to worry about the barbecue grill."
Can your Dawn Church handle this?
"Uh, lust for women is too low-class..."
Lindsay stammered. Although the status of the saintess in the Church of Dawn was far lower than that of the saintess, it was not something he could just give away on a whim. At the very least, Pope Allon would have to hold a meeting and announce it.
"I also think it's low-class; you can't eat women."
Gawain put his arm around Lindsay's shoulder and offered advice: "It's not difficult to get me to switch sides and join the Church of Dawn. Just give me three or five Sun Artifacts."
Then I might as well submit an application to have the saintess retire early.
……
Five minutes later, Ox-Head and Horse-Face rushed out of the mine, reined in their horses, and stopped in front of Gao Wen.
The magic tower's core was destroyed, its extended space shattered, and the crimson barrier and death aura vanished, leaving Red River Town back to its former dilapidated state.
The task of eradicating evil completely has been completed.
"The blasphemers have been eliminated. Human magicians, thank you for your help. One day in the future, when you arrive in the underworld, I will personally welcome you back."
"Hehehehehe————"
They went through the motions, with their right and left hands following the script to remove Gao Wen from their positions, and both of them went to the black pit, choosing to go back to where they came from.
Before leaving, Malone flicked his spear, throwing the unconscious Beatrice at Gawain's feet, causing a splash.
“Brother Lindsay, the messenger of the Lord of Death has left. Let’s go to the Magic Tower and try our luck. Maybe we can find some information.”
Gawain hoisted Commander Bei up and patted his butt: "Red River Town is just the tip of the iceberg of the Dark Church. There's no need to go through the formalities; they are hell itself. The Dawn Church has to close the net early, or the big fish will get away."

Chapter 227 The bigger the storm, the more expensive the fish
Deep in the mine.
The magnificent palace was brutally attacked, and a new door was forcibly opened in the wall next to each of the main doors.
With this self-reliant and hands-off approach, Gao Wen could easily guess who did it.
It's all Dawn's fault!
Gawain quickly inspected the palace, acquiring some currency, a little gold, and also found the wine cellar, ice cellar, and a collection room filled with a large number of ancient artifacts and books.
Vampires have such an upscale lifestyle, pursuing a luxurious quality of life that they've transformed what should have been a sinister and terrifying villain's lair into a castle palace for the elite.
Toads don't grow hair; they follow their roots.
Following the logic of the son inheriting the father's essence, Gawain guessed that the dark messenger Richiord was the source; he took the lead first, and then the others followed suit.
The question is, who did Richioud learn from?
The answer is obvious, but Gawain had a close relationship with one of the man's daughters and some friction with the other daughter, involving taking food and gifts from her—I won't name names here.
While Gawain was inspecting the collection room, Lindsay came to Haze's office, and after a series of explosions, found several letters and three diaries.
Lindsay skimmed through the letters, his expression growing increasingly grave. The Dark Church's power and lurking presence were far more terrifying than he had imagined, and their correspondence made no attempt to conceal their loathing for the Church of Dawn.
Fearing that the Dark Church would become the next Twilight Church, the Church of Dawn began preparations and completed the Hell Binding. The Church of Darkness had always regarded the Church of Dawn as a major threat, and based on the principle that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, it made friends with many powerful forces during its period of dormancy.
Most of these friends are state-owned enterprises.
The situation was extremely critical, far exceeding expectations. Lindsay disregarded everything else and planned to leave the area and have headquarters send reinforcements immediately.
As Gawain said, the destruction of Red River Town alerted the Dark Church. Even if it did not retaliate, it would break up into smaller groups and lie low in the deeper layers. If they did not want the big fish to escape, they had to close the net as soon as possible.
After their search, both of them had a satisfying find.
Magic Tower.
The sight of the cathedral-like magic tower made Lindsay's face extremely ugly. Every time the veil of the Dark Church was lifted, it was like a slap in the face, a combination of front and backhand blows, spinning around and making the old man cry out that he couldn't take it anymore.
As a high-ranking member of the secret council and the head of the Dawn Church's hidden stronghold in the Kingdom of Vis, Lindsay bears undeniable responsibility for the Dark Church's growth into its current colossal size, a result of serious dereliction of duty.
The chair he was sitting on was too big; he couldn't find a target to shift the blame onto.
The core of the magic tower had been destroyed by the two skeleton knights, and what remained was a magnificent spectacle of considerable cost. Lindsay, with her sharp eyes and keen senses, followed the scent of blood and found a survivor.
"Huh? It's Commander Grin. He's still alive?"
Gao Wenwang was startled. He rubbed his buttocks, thinking that the guy had died a heroic death, but it turned out that he had only suffered serious injuries and was still one step away from death.
"He's not dead yet, but he's almost done for."
Lindsay examined him and found two small holes on each side of Green's neck, pierced by sharp objects, likely from being sucked blood by dark creatures, resulting in excessive blood loss.
To survive...
It's probably because of the food!
"A mere fatal wound, not fatal at all, all I need is..."
"Wait a minute, don't rush to save people."
Out of caution, Gawain stopped Lindsay's medical miracle, controlled his magic output, and cast a Flashstorm on Green on the ground.
It's not that surviving a near-death experience guarantees a follow-up attack, but rather a check to see if Green is now a human or a monster.
With a thud, Green was struck by the weakened beam of light, his face slid to the wall. He groaned weakly, perhaps uttering profanities as he cursed the dark church for mistreating prisoners of war.
"It's alright, Commander Green is still human, he can be saved."
Gawain quickly stepped forward, reluctant to part with his sports drink and potion. He first helped Captain Bei lean against the wall, then searched her pocket for her wallet and found a healing potion to give to Grin.
Lindsay didn't understand Gawain's actions. Knowing Gawain's cautious nature, there must be a reason why he suddenly cast a solar spell on Green.
If it were just settling a personal score, he could just slap two big balls in the buttocks, calling it "awakening a sleeping soul," and afterwards Green would even have to say thank you. But it has to be solar magic that subdues dark creatures...
Lindsay narrowed her eyes, her old age revealing her shrewdness, and guessed that Gao Wen had other information.
Gao Wenren is not old and doesn't talk much. Before Lin Sai could speak, he said, "Just now I fought a female vampire. I wanted to die knowing why. She saw that I was just a high-level mage and thought she had it in the bag. She generously fulfilled my request and told me everything that she could and couldn't say."
Gao Wen claimed that he was very good at extracting information, and that if he had enough time, he could even find out the color of the female vampire's underwear.
Lindsay was already at the age where she was considering which wall to hang her clothes on, and she had no interest in the female vampire's underwear. She ignored Gawain's lewd jokes and traded the irretrievable six-pointed holy sword for all the information Gawain had obtained.
"Vampires, bloodlines, possess the ability to transform..."
"Immortal and immortal..."
"Creatures of darkness fear the sunlight..."
Gawain recounted all the information he had obtained from Lily. He had been wanting to say it but hadn't found a suitable opportunity. Today, Lindsay had seen several vampires with her own eyes, making it the perfect time to hand over the information to the Church of Dawn.
War is never just about passion; the three key elements to victory are intelligence, logistics, and technology.
As the great battle begins, intelligence is paramount. Intelligence determines whether a battle can be fought swiftly, accurately, and ruthlessly. Obtaining this intelligence will not only make the Dawn Church's bandit suppression operation twice as effective, but it will certainly give it wings.
Upon hearing that vampires possessed the ability to transform their own kind, Lindsay's expression remained unchanged, but his heart was in turmoil. He touched his youthful face, which he had used to deceive the world, and said dryly, "If I were to walk through the Kingdom of Viss in my true form as an old man, the Dark Church would probably have already come after me, and I would..."
It's hard to resist becoming a vampire!
No one wants to die as long as they can live. To be fair, given the immense temptation of immortality, the weakness of dying in the light is not a big problem.
Lindsay could easily imagine how many powerful, dying mages the Dark Church had secretly recruited using this as leverage.
The more Lindsay thought about it, the more chilled he felt. He wished he could return to headquarters immediately, explain the stakes to the person in question, and put aside the damn procedures. This was no longer a war of faith, but a racial war of survival!
The archmage's physique was indeed impressive. After Gawain fed him a potion, Green awoke from his daze, his face pale, and said, "Those monsters aren't human... They can suck blood and read memories... Our plans have been thwarted by them..."
Halfway through his conversation, Green realized that Lindsay and Gawain's ability to break into the Magic Tower's headquarters meant that their side had won a major victory, and the local gangs were most likely wiped out.
"Amazing!"
Gawain returned the wallet to its owner and stuffed it back into Captain Bei's arms, asking in confusion, "Brother Lindsay, we've encountered quite a few skeletons washed by death energy along the way. Captain Green is the only survivor in the entire mine. How did the messengers of the Lord of Death manage to distinguish friend from foe?"
Office rule: As long as you raise the issue before your colleagues do, the problem isn't your fault!
Lindsay was in a state of utter confusion and had no time to pay attention to these things. Remembering that there was still water boiling at home, he announced the end of the operation and dismissed the group, then left first.
He turned and left.
