The earth trembled, and the machine seemed to sink into the ground.

The magnificent, colossal mechanical structure, bearing the marks of time, rises from the distant past.

Chapter 238 [Ancient Mechanical Giants]

Is the latest version of Shuke gradually becoming a platform for reading culture? They've even released a site-wide reward system...

I write novels, is there any rich tycoon who could reward me with a treasure chest? QAQ (holding a dirty rice bowl)

On another note, the super robots are even better at writing than mythology... It's truly a battle of charlatans.

The ancient machine, long dormant, awakens from its slumber. Its mechanical shell is covered with dust and the marks of time, but it still retains the sturdiness to withstand a Blue-Eyes White Dragon. The creaking gears continue to perform their duties, exuding an ancient aura.

The only remaining observation device on the face was hidden in the lightless darkness, flickering with an ominous red light.

"It's here!!! Professor Chronos's ace monster!"

"Oh, it seems Chronos is really going all out this time!"

"But, it won't happen again..."

"What nonsense are you talking about, you idiot? That newbie just got lucky last time. This time it'll be different!"

Well, these people just won't believe that a new book can directly defeat a famous professor.

"Set one card face down, end the turn."

"Oh ho ho ho, freshman, as your professor, I won't bully you anymore. I'll only use one monster and one face-down card to deal with you. If that can't solve the problem, you might as well surrender obediently. Our school doesn't need bad students, None!"

With an overly broad smile, Chronos crossed his arms and looked at Chang Yan, while Chang Yan merely tugged at his red hat to hide the smile on his lips.

"Hey, professor, do you believe in fate?"

Suddenly, Chang Yan asked the professor in front of him a question.

"Ha, fate? Hmph, you freshman, stop with the glib talk. No matter how much you talk, this time we'll only look at your practical results, None!"

"No, no, Professor, what I meant was—"

"What a strange thing it is to be called fate!"

"My turn, draw a card! Normal Summon [Golden Part]."

The gear-shaped man, gleaming with golden light and exuding an air of nouveau riche, jumped out.

"【Golden Parts】Effect activated - When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can activate this effect. Special Summon 1 Level 4 Machine-Type monster from your hand."

"Watch closely, Professor, this is why I said fate is truly wondrous—"

"Special Summon: Ancient Mechanical Dragon!"

The golden gear-like figure shone brightly, and the sounds of gears turning and wings flapping in the air came from above.

The greenish-blue metal casing and gray-white gears form a mechanical dragon, which is now rushing over at high speed, adorned with the ostentatious glow of the golden gears.

This monster, at this moment, caused a huge uproar.

"Ancient Mechanical Dragon!"

"Could it be that the newbie—"

"The same deck as Chronos?!"

Chronos stared wide-eyed at the monster whose style was so familiar.

"This, this is—"

"That's why I said fate is wondrous. [Ancient Gear Dragon] effect activated—If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can activate this effect. Add 1 'Ancient Gear' card other than 'Ancient Gear Dragon' from your Deck to your hand. However, after this effect is activated, you cannot set cards until the end of this turn."

Add [Ancient Mechanical Fusion] to your hand.

"Fusion!"

"Masaka!"

Upon seeing the card with "fusion" in its name, Chronos shuddered, recalling the scene where he had been brutally beaten by a certain jellyfish.

"That's right, activate the Spell Card 'Ancient Gear Fusion'. This card sends the Fusion Material Monsters listed on the 'Ancient Gear' Fusion Monster Card from your hand or field to the Graveyard, and then Fusion Summons that Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. There's another effect, of course, but I won't reveal it here."

Not only did he leave out another effect, but he also inserted the card into the latest Duel Disk he was wearing.

Lightweight, with automatic retrieval and automatic cutting, waterproof, fireproof, drop-proof, and bulletproof, the latest Haima Duel Disk 4.0 is a must-have. Now only xxxxx yen, hurry up and grab yours!

"The summoning condition is 3 'Ancient Gear' monsters, plus 2 'Ancient Gear Giants' and 1 'Ancient Gear Entity' from your hand as Fusion Material—"

A fierce wind surged, and ancient machines and gears, long forgotten, were swept into a vortex of light.

"Having inherited an ancient soul, the giant sealed from antiquity and the vessel bearing hope, now unite as one, and once again trample this world—"

The earth trembled, and the ancient machinery was activated once more.

A massive mechanical head, carrying with it tumbling sand and gravel, slowly emerged from the earth.

Three red lights emitted a captivating glow from the dark face, while Chang Yan, standing below the head, pulled up his red hat, revealing an eye that seemed to emit a crimson light in response.

"Fusion Summoning - [Ancient Mechanical Colossus]!"

That was an ancient war machine, an absolute victor trampling on countless battlefields, a weapon of victory that could crush ten thousand armies without ever being defeated.

The colossal mechanical giant with six arms and six legs roared as it turned, and endless soil and gravel slid down its massive body, which was strong enough to support the heavens and the earth. Even the countless scars and rust brought by time on its body could not conceal the terrifying presence of this behemoth.

"Mommy, Mommy Mia!!!!!"

As the three terrifying red lights swept towards him, Chronos shuddered, goosebumps trembling from head to toe, and he screamed out his verbal tic!

"Attack power 3300!!!!"

"It has already surpassed Professor Chronos's [Ancient Mechanical Giant]!"

"Could it be that Professor Chronos is about to be defeated by a novice again?!"

One of the Obelisk Blue students stared in disbelief, prompting another Obelisk Blue student next to him to nod in agreement.

"It seems that's how it is..."

"But the professor still has a card, so there's still a chance."

Tsukimori Doman (Common Saying) Hand Count: 1

"I'm so excited! Ahhh, I'm so incredibly excited!"

Seeing that Chang Yan had summoned such a powerful monster, Jaden Yuki's fighting spirit, which had just subsided, began to burn again.

"Here it comes, Professor Chronos, enter—"

"Wait a minute, when you enter the Battle Phase, I'm going to activate my face-down card, Quick-Play Spell [Limit Removal]—All Machine-Type monsters on your field gain double ATK until the end of this turn. However, monsters affected by this effect will destroy None during the End Phase of this turn!"

The gears on the giant's body spun rapidly, the mechanical parts inside his body rumbled incessantly, and the red light from the observation device became incredibly intense.

[Ancient Mechanical Giant] Attack Power: 3000 → 6000

Professor Chronos is, after all, a duelist professor, so his reaction time is naturally very fast.

In ancient mechanical decks, most cards share a common effect: when this card attacks, the opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step.

Therefore, you must activate the face-down card at the moment of entering the battle phase in order to survive this turn.

"Attack power 6000!!!!"

"As expected of Professor Chronos!"

"6000, it seems number 80 will miss the opportunity."

Seeing Professor Chronos activate the Gekko to double the Ancient Gear Giant's attack to 6000, Daichi Misawa slowly said, while Jaden Yuki next to him had stars in his eyes.

"Professor, there are only a few cards that Ancient Mech decks would set face down. Do you think I didn't guess that your card was [Limit Removal]?"
