Ron stood in front of the control panel in the cave, his fingers slowly tracing the runes.

The rune array pulsated like a heartbeat, and he could clearly sense the chaos in the enemy camp. He had no intention of letting this opportunity slip by.

"The strange horde broke in from the underground river mouth."

The runes hummed, causing a commotion deep within the dark river.

The stone wall cracked open, black water churned, and clumps of slimes were swept out, crawling along the water towards the enemy camp.

The sand snake curled up and slid into the waterway, its scales rubbing together and making a rustling sound.

The camp's supply depot was the first to suffer. The fire was still burning, and the ground was covered in wet mud, perfect for a slime operation.

They immediately clung to the fallen corpses and rolled into the unburnt grain pile.

The guards rushed over and slashed, the blades piercing the slime's body. When they pulled it out, it was covered in sticky threads and instantly corroded black.

Just as the guards were about to shout a warning, the sand snake emerged from the ground and bit off a man's thigh, spraying blood all over the ground.

The screams completely alarmed the entire camp.

The Ironscale Hunter hurriedly set up his crossbow, and arrows whistled out.

Ron was prepared. The stone-winged beast swooped down from the darkness, its wings whipping up a whirlwind that knocked over the crossbow formation.

Several people were slapped into the fire and instantly turned into fireballs.

Claudia led her personal guards into the fray. With a series of thrusts of her spear, she charged into the heart of the enemy ranks, taking down seven or eight men in just a few steps.

The guards followed closely behind, striking with shields and slashing with swords, their movements swift and decisive. In the firelight, the blood-splattered ground shone brightly.

Bakus's face turned ashen. He slammed his scepter down, causing the ground runes to light up, attempting to suppress the monster horde once more.

Meanwhile, Ron's control panel was activated simultaneously, and the two streams of runic power collided in the dark river, creating a deafening roar that sent the river water soaring straight to the sky.

Bakus's expression changed, and he staggered half a step.

"Keep the pressure on!" Ron said coldly.

The Ironback Beast and the Heavy Armored Beast charged in one after the other, their bone shields sweeping across and directly tearing down the wooden wall that the enemy had temporarily erected.

The armored beast slumped its shoulder, knocking an adjutant and three others behind it flying.

The camp was in complete chaos. Some people dropped their weapons and ran away, while others simply fell to the ground and pretended to be dead.

The remnants of the Skullcrusher Gang still wanted to regroup, but the Sand Serpent Swarm had already broken through their defenses.

Dozens of burly men were dragged into the mud, their screams echoing through the air.

The firelight illuminated the sky, and the camp was filled with the sounds of battle from the inside out.

Ron stood in front of the control panel, slowly opening his hand, and the rune array dimmed layer by layer.

The monsters in the cave automatically retreated, the sand snakes and slimes retreated back to the underground river, and the stone-winged beast circled before landing back on the cave ceiling.

He did not pursue them further. The supplies were completely destroyed, and the camp suffered heavy casualties. That night, the enemy was severely weakened.

As night deepened, the Third Mercenary Regiment finally regrouped its forces.

The heavily armored warriors of the Skullcrusher Axe Gang stood at the forefront, supporting their giant axes, followed by the Ironscale Hunters with their crossbows, while the Dark Swamp Poison Shadows crept into the surrounding shadows, slowly approaching like a pack of wolves.

Flames soared into the sky in the camp, and shouts shook the mountain walls. They were playing their last card, determined to smash through the Black Language Cave in one fell swoop.

Ron's hand rested on the console, his fingertips icy cold, the rune chains vibrating beneath his skin.

He didn't shout anything, he just pushed open the three layers of defense one by one.

First layer: pitfall.

The ground suddenly cracked open, and the entire front row of heavy shield soldiers fell down.

The sand snakes at the bottom of the pit lunged forward, their blood-red tongues flicking, tearing the armor apart with a loud creaking sound.

The blood splashed up and evaporated immediately upon hitting the stone wall.

Second layer: Slime flood.

The water from the underground river was drawn out and mixed with slime, surging up the slope like mud.

Before the charging axe-wielder could even raise his axe, a clump of slime pounced on his face, sending him sprawling into the mud. He scratched and clawed desperately, but the more he struggled, the deeper he sank.

People behind stepped on their companions, and one of them got stuck and turned into a pile of mud.

The third level: Fallen Rocks and Stonewing Beasts.

The top of the grotto suddenly shook, and large rocks crashed down with a sharp whistling sound.

The Ironscale Hunters' crossbow formation had barely been set up when the first wave of rocks smashed two ballistae into scrap metal.

The sound of the string snapping followed, and the archer's limbs twisted as he was struck by the stone, collapsing to the ground convulsing.

Immediately afterwards, the stone-winged beasts roared out, their wings beating against the air, creating wave after wave of explosive sounds.

They swooped down, their sharp claws grabbing the enemy soldiers' armor, dragging them off the ground and throwing them into the slime pile.

The entire mercenary formation was instantly torn apart.

The leader of the Skullcrusher Axe Gang charged forward, his body covered in blood, his giant axe sweeping across the battlefield, splitting two sand snakes in two with his roar.

The heavily armored warriors behind him roared as they followed, pushing forward by stepping on the corpses of their comrades.

Ron saw it clearly, and with a swift movement, pushed the control panel to its highest setting.

The runes at the bottom of the grotto lit up all at once, the rock walls trembled, and the entire underground palace seemed to come alive.

boom!

The entire side wall collapsed, and the heavily armored beast charged out with a group of dark figures.

Ironback Beast, carrying a bone shield, charged ahead, its shield ramming into and knocking over the guards beside the leader.

The heavily armored beast followed closely behind, arching its shoulders and sending the leader flying, his giant axe slipping from its grasp and crashing into the mud.

Taking advantage of the chaos, the members of Dark Swamp Poison Shadow rushed in from the flank, their blades flashing in the shadows.

But as soon as they crawled two zhang into the cave, the talisman array roared, and an iron cage sprang up from the ground, directly trapping more than a dozen people inside.

The hunting cage tightened, and the next moment, a pack of bloodthirsty dogs pounced in, tearing the people inside to shreds.

The mercenary assault was thrown into chaos.

Crossbow bolts flew wildly, hitting more of their own people than the enemy.

The heavily armored soldiers were halfway there when the slime dragged them off balance.

Sand snakes coiled around them, tightening like ropes, squeezing blood from between their nails.

Ron's fingers relaxed little by little, and the vibration of the console subsided.

He no longer needs to suppress it; the cave itself is killing the enemy.

The monsters were completely excited, surging the enemies outwards like a tidal wave.

The sounds of shouts of battle, screams of agony, and the cracking of armor plates blended together.

The leader of the Skullcrusher Axe gang crawled out of the mud, his face covered in blood, and roared at the cave.

Just as he was about to pick up the giant axe, the heavily armored beast pounced on him, its horn ramming straight into his chest and lifting him into the air.

The Ironscale Hunters' ranks collapsed, and the Dark Swamp Shadows' stalkers suffered more than half their casualties.

The Black Language Cave's triple defenses shattered the enemy's edge.

Under the cover of night, blood flowed like a river.

Ron raised his hand, the talisman chains went out, and the tremors in the cave gradually subsided.

The night wind carried the smell of burning, the mercenary assault had been utterly destroyed, corpses were piled in the mud, and fragments of armor were scattered everywhere.

The leader of the Skullcrusher Axe Gang was nearly killed by the heavily armored beast, and several guards dragged him back to the camp.

The Ironscale Hunters abandoned their ballistae and scattered in all directions, while the Dark Swamp Poison Shadows had vanished without a trace.

Ron flicked his finger, and the control panel array snapped shut, causing the monster horde to slowly retreat into the depths of the cave.

The stone-winged beast landed on the cave ceiling, folded its wings, and remained silent as if nothing had happened.

The sand snake dragged the mangled corpse back to the bottom of the pit, where the slime devoured the overflowing flesh and blood.

The battlefield fell silent, but the mud still churned with heat.

"Claudia, take men and give chase."

Before he finished speaking, Claudia had already turned around, his guards lined up in neat rows, spears held horizontally, and rushed into the darkness almost without hesitation.

The sound of footsteps followed the fleeing soldiers forward like the beat of a drum.

On the outer edge of the enemy camp, several heavy shield soldiers were carrying their leader and staggering backward. They hadn't gone far when a cold light tore through the night from the side.

Claudia's spear swept across, shattering the breastplates of both guards. Blood gushed from their mouths and noses, and they collapsed on the spot.

The leader lost cover and was thrown into the air, crashing heavily into the mud.

The guards charged into the crowd, their movements swift and decisive. They didn't shout or utter a word, but simply pierced the enemy's armor with each shot.

Some people raised their axes and fought back desperately, but the spear pierced their throats, and before they could even cry out, they were kicked to the ground.

The routed soldiers were no match for them; they abandoned their armor and fled in tears.

Claudia lifted the leader up with one hand, holding his spear to the back of his neck: "Move and you die."

The leader was panting heavily, covered in blood, with cloudy eyes, and had completely lost his will to fight.

Several guards dragged him back to the cave, tied his hands and feet, and threw him in front of the control panel.

Ron looked down at the man's disheveled appearance but remained silent. The control panel's rune array slowly rotated, as if responding to his thoughts.

"Go ahead."

Ron tapped the control panel lightly with his fingers; the sound was soft, yet it felt like a tap on the heart.

The leader's throat went dry, and he stammered. Claudia pierced the ground with a single shot, sending sparks flying, which made him shudder violently.
