Those were a dozen or so abyssal sea monsters covered in scales, wielding tridents, and moving extremely fast in the water.
At Ron's command, the group of bone sharks immediately separated, pretending to drift with the ocean current. Tentacle ghosts stretched out their slender tentacles from the shadows, silently wrapping around the ankles of lone sea monsters and dragging them into the depths.
In less than half a minute, the patrol team lost a third of its strength, and the rest were surrounded by a group of bone sharks from both sides, with bones, teeth and blood churning in the water.
The patrol area was completely cleared, and the assault team continued its advance.
The entrance to the Dark Sea Abyss is a huge underwater fissure, flanked by stone walls covered with seaweed and coral, from which a ghostly blue light shines.
The light was not warm, but carried a cold, corrosive aura.
Ron sensed fluctuations in the law's authority; that was the boundary of Bakus's copy domain.
Once inside, the assault team will directly enter the enemy's instance rules.
"All concealed." Ron's command was transmitted through the bone shark's consciousness.
The tentacle ghost slid into the crevice first, its body pressed completely against the stone wall, as if it had merged into the seaweed and shadows.
Mud lurks in the sand layers on both sides of the entrance, while the group of bone sharks swims slowly along the bottom, avoiding direct view.
The moment we entered the Dark Abyss, the water temperature plummeted and visibility dropped to less than five meters.
A dull tremor came from the seabed, like some enormous creature slowly moving.
Viser's voice came through the communication chip: "Large-scale energy reaction detected, located 800 meters directly in front of you."
A cold glint flashed in Ron's eyes: "That's the target."
Instead of ordering the assault team to charge immediately, he sent the Tentacle Ghosts to scout ahead first.
Soon, the ghost's consciousness brought back the scene—an energy tower made of black coral and skeleton, surrounded by a large number of abyssal sea monsters and sleeping giant sea beasts.
“The energy tower is a shield node of the Dark Sea Abyss.” Ron’s voice was low and cold. “By dismantling it, we will have a direct path to the core.”
The bone sharks rearranged themselves into attack formation, while the tentacle ghosts spread silent nets in the shadows, and the mud lurkers lay buried in the sand at the base of the tower, awaiting orders.
Ron's final command was passed down—
"attack."
The energy tower's eerie blue light shimmered beneath the surface of the Dark Sea, like a cold eye watching the intruders.
Patrolling sea monsters swam back and forth all around, their tridents gleaming coldly.
Further away, two giant sea monsters lay curled up in the sand, each half the size of Bone Dragon No. 1, their backs covered with blade-like bony fins.
Ron observed the location of each defensive node through the Law Link, giving the assault team no time to probe.
"The bone shark swarm draws fire from the front; the tentacle ghosts cut off patrol routes; the mud lurkers plant explosives directly at the base of the tower."
The group of bone sharks suddenly accelerated, like a dozen white lightning bolts breaking through the water, heading straight for the patrolling sea monster formation.
The first wave of impact knocked down three sea monsters, their bone fangs biting through their armor and bones, and blood mist instantly filled the water.
The patrol team immediately retaliated, their tridents slicing through the water and striking the bone shark's shell with a dull thud.
This was exactly the effect Ron wanted—all eyes were drawn to the front lines.
Tentacle ghosts slid out from the shadows on either side of the energy tower, their tentacles silently reaching towards the rear of the patrol route, quietly entangling lone sea monsters and dragging them into the darkness.
A few seconds later, a gap appeared in the patrol team's defensive line.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, the creature lurking in the silt emerged from the sand layer, its bone spikes already activated, their cold light flashing underwater.
As they wriggled, they buried explosives into the gaps in the tower base until a death trap was formed around the base.
The two giant sea beasts in the distance were awakened by the shockwaves of the battle. They opened their mouths and spat out a stream of water containing broken bones, which swept away the two bone sharks.
Viser's voice came through the comms: "They're about to reach Taki, hurry!"
Ron ordered, "Detonate!"
A burst of white light erupted from the base of the tower, and the sand and gravel stirred up by the shockwave from the bottom of the water blotted out the sun. The lower half of the energy tower was torn apart, and the eerie blue light quickly dimmed.
The shield runes at the top of the tower began to crumble, and a huge gap appeared in the entire shield of the Dark Sea Abyss at the same time.
Taking advantage of the chaos, the group of bone sharks rushed to the tower and frantically attacked the fragile structure with their bone teeth and tail spikes.
The tentacle ghosts then entangle the eyes and gills of the giant sea monsters, driving them into a rage, but rendering them unable to attack accurately.
In less than a minute, the energy tower collapsed completely, and a thunderous roar erupted from the seabed.
The gap in the shield widened instantly, exposing the core passage leading directly to the Dark Sea Abyss to Ron.
"Objective accomplished. The entire team retreats to the breach. Next step—target the core."
The shockwave from the collapse of the energy tower still echoed on the seabed, where fine sand and bone fragments were suspended, making visibility so poor that it was almost impossible to see anything more than five meters away.
The gap in the shield resembled a torn rift, from which streams of eerie blue light surged outwards, carrying a powerful suction force.
The group of bony sharks were the first to pass through the gap, their bony shells rubbing against the light stream with a sharp sound.
The tentacle ghost followed closely behind, sliding along the stone wall, its tentacles constantly reaching forward to ensure it didn't collide with hidden traps.
Those lurking in the silt advance from the sand layer, their bodies completely blending into the terrain, making them extremely well-concealed.
Ron's consciousness remained in sync with the commando team; he could clearly perceive every turn and every ripple in the water.
"There is an energy reaction to the left front, with a radius of fifty meters. Avoid it and continue advancing towards the core."
The structure of the core passage is completely different from that of the Abyss Throat. It is a wide, circular waterway surrounded by black coral and bone pipes, through which dark red energy liquid flows.
Above the passageway, dozens of crystal spheres floated, their interiors shimmering with unsettling light.
In the communication, Belle warned, "Those are induction mines. Once touched, the entire passage will be sealed off by a high-pressure water jet."
Ron said in a deep voice, "Tentacled ghosts, go deal with them, and continue advancing on the rest."
The ghost silently circled around to the back of the crystal ball, pierced the internal energy core with its tiny tentacles, and then gently twisted it, causing the light to quickly extinguish.
In less than two minutes, the entire crystal ball malfunctioned, and the passage was completely opened.
Just as the assault team advanced to the last bend before the core, a low rumbling sound suddenly came from ahead, and the seawater began to flow rapidly.
Viser's detection data instantly turned red: "A large creature is moving ahead, at least twice the size of Bone Dragon No. 1."
Ron narrowed his eyes, his voice cold and hard: "The core guardian beast, the last great lock left by Bakus."
The water was suddenly torn apart, and a huge creature slowly emerged from the shadows.
It was a giant sea serpent covered in abyssal runes, with eyes that glowed with an eerie green light, dorsal fins that stood upright like blades, and lightning crackling with abyssal energy in its mouth.
At Ron's command, the bone sharks immediately dispersed, and the mud lurkers silently circled around to the underside of the snake's body.
The tentacle-like ghost clung to the stone wall, preparing to wrap its neck around it from above.
Ron's voice was as cold as ice: "Take it down, and the core will be ours."
The abyssal sea serpent's body resembles a moving underwater ridge, coiling in the murky water, its length seemingly endless.
Each shimmer of its scales creates a large flow of water, and runes shimmer on the surface of its scales, as if it is breathing.
The first blow came without warning.
With a sudden flick of its tail, the water pressure increased dramatically, and two of the bone sharks in the group were flung away, crashing into the bone pipes of the passage, instantly fracturing their bones and bleeding profusely.
Ron's voice traveled through the Law Link into the consciousness of every monster.
"The bone sharks, entangled in its fins and tail, the tentacles ghostly, blocking its breathing opening from its neck and gills, the mud lurking, ready to bury the bomb."
The group of sharks circled around the sea snake's dorsal fin in pairs, their fangs biting down on the base of the fin and holding on tightly. With the fin restricted, the sea snake's agility immediately decreased.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, the tentacle ghost leaped down from the stone wall, its slender tentacles wrapping around its neck like a noose, while another set of tentacles probed into its gills, releasing a corrosive undercurrent.
The abyssal sea serpent writhed violently, its massive body slamming against the tunnel walls, disrupting the water flow throughout the core area.
A bone shark, flung into the air, shattered a section of bone-like tubing, releasing a dark red energy liquid that formed a blinding fog in the water.
Ron stared at the thick fog and decisively gave the order.
"Those lurking in the mud, now!"
The lurking creatures in the mud beneath the snake's belly immediately rushed out, stuffing bone spikes and explosives into the gaps in the snake's belly, before retreating back into the sand layer with all their might.
The next second, a violent explosion resounded inside the sea serpent, the shockwave tearing open its abdominal scales, black blood gushing out and staining half of the passage red.
The sea serpent let out a piercing roar, its body convulsing violently. The ghostly noose of its tentacles was nearly snapped by the shock, but it still held on tightly, and the group of bone sharks took the opportunity to pull harder.
Ron coldly ordered, "Bone shark swarm, concentrate your attacks on its neck—finish it!"
Dozens of fangs snapped down simultaneously, tearing large gashes from the sea snake's neck scales.
The tentacle ghost burrowed its tentacles completely into the wound, shredding the muscles and blood vessels inside.
The sea serpent lashed its tail one last time, smashing several bony tubes. Water and energy gushed forth simultaneously, but its movements grew slower and slower until its head drooped limply and the runic light went out completely.
A system notification then popped up.
[Core Guardian Beast Successfully Defeated]
The core area of the Dark Sea Abyss is now open.
Ron's voice echoed in the minds of the assault team: "Advance, take the core."
The corpse of the abyssal sea serpent slowly sank, its massive body wedged halfway into the core passage, its blood spreading like ink in the water.
The swarm of bone sharks, tentacle ghosts, and mud lurkers bypassed the corpses and advanced.
After passing the last bend, the view suddenly opened up.
The core area of the Dark Sea Abyss is dome-shaped, with a huge abyssal core suspended at the top. The outer layer is a constantly rotating shield halo that attracts the surrounding water like a vortex.
Bacchus was standing on the high platform below the shield.
His figure appeared unusually cold in the eerie blue light and shadow. His hands were pressed on the control array, and the shadows behind him surged constantly, as if they were about to solidify at any moment.
Upon seeing the commando team appear, Bakus's lips curled into a sneer.
"Ron, you really don't know what's good for you."
"You took my Abyss Throat and now dare to venture into the Dark Sea—you think I wasn't prepared?"
Ron's voice echoed throughout the core area through the Law Link: "Prepare? Of course I know, that's why I'm here."
Bakus suddenly raised his hand, and the core shield's rotation speed increased dramatically. The water flow instantly turned into a whirlpool, flinging the bone shark swarm and tentacle ghosts outward.
Between the shield and the outer ring, countless black shadows rose from the surface, transforming into abyssal monsters of various shapes, so numerous that they filled the entire field of vision.
