Star-Lord said cautiously, "Hey, could you put the knife away first and then we can talk this over properly? I think I'm having the illusion that my neck is bleeding?"

Thanos gave a look that signaled him to take action.

Nebula decisively pulled the trigger.

Rocket's eyes turned red, and he screamed frantically, "No—"

Groot's green head burst open like a watermelon, spraying dark green sap all over the ground.

With a thud, headless Groot fell heavily to the ground.

Nebula snorted coldly, turning to look at Gamora, "Did you see his fate? You traitor, you'll die by my hand sooner or later!"

The rocket struggled frantically, but was tightly bound by chains and entangled in a two-meter-thick iron pillar.

"Fuck! When I get out of here, I'm going to kill you to avenge Groot!"

Nebula completely ignored Rocket, who was itching to kill her, and went straight back to Thanos's side, crossing her arms to watch Gamora make a fool of herself.

Thanos smiled with satisfaction. "Daughter, you've finally told the truth."

He put the double-edged sword away and ordered his trusted lieutenant, Ebony Maw, "Adjust the course and head to Vormir!"

Chapter 201 Soul for Soul

Ebony Throat replied respectfully, "Understood, sir."

Temple II activated its space jump engine and accelerated into a temporarily opened wormhole tunnel.

Ebony Maw's eyes were alert, ready to use his telekinesis to crush the black skeleton at any moment.

Gamora remained calm. She didn't believe anyone could stand up to Thanos; in fact, she might be happy about it.

Thanos stepped forward and calmly asked, "Where is the Soul Stone?"

Red Skull calmly replied, "The price you have to pay to obtain the Infinity Stones is beyond your imagination."

"I was banished here by the power of the gems because of my excessive greed, to guide those who come here to obtain the gems for all eternity."

Thanos calmly said, "This is a curse. Once I obtain the gems, your curse will naturally be lifted."

Upon hearing this, Red Skull's usually calm and collected demeanor was stirred, and his tone became slightly urgent.

“I have been exiled here for 70 years. From the initial resentment to the present relief, I once pursued power, but was forced to become a slave to power.”

"Ha...this is truly the most ironic thing in the world."

Red Skull noticed Thanos was getting impatient, so he quickly turned and floated away, saying, "Sorry, come with me. I haven't seen any living people in years, so I've become a bit long-winded."

Thanos stepped forward to catch up, and Ebony Maw waved his hand, using his telekinesis to propel Gamora, whose hands were bound, into a low-altitude levitation and forward flight.

The group arrived at the edge of a cliff.

"It requires the life of a beloved person to obtain it."

"So, are you sure you can make this decision?"

Thanos remained silent, seemingly pondering whether he had the resolve to do so.

Gamora suddenly laughed.

"Hahaha~"

"I have dreamed all my life that one day, even for a moment, you will reap what you sow for the many crimes you have committed."

"But I can never get what I want."

"But now, you have treated human life with contempt, indiscriminately killing innocent people, and yet you call it kindness and mercy. You have finally reaped the consequences."

"You've been utterly defeated, do you know why?"

"Because you don't have love at all!"

Thanos' eyes welled up with tears as he looked at Gamora with deep reluctance.

Gamora scoffed, "Tears of defeat?"

The Red Skull reminded him, "These tears are not for himself."

Gamora's brain was suddenly overloaded.

What does this mean? Does Thanos really have a true love in his heart?

Then, she belatedly realized that Thanos was staring at her with a hint of reluctance in his eyes.

"No! This isn't love! How could you, a cold-blooded madman, possibly have love?"

Thanos made up his mind, grabbed Gamora's arm, and started walking towards the cliff, saying:
