No ordinary person dares to approach a bailiff, because that would only bring them more trouble.
The most terrifying thing about people leaving the nest is not disease or crime, but the endless despair that seems to have no end.
Every day, people choose to end their own lives, jumping into the factory's furnace, swallowing the factory's wastewater, or simply lying across the tracks waiting to be crushed.
In their view, death is a relief.
But the demons of the warp will tell them that there is no liberation in the Warhammer world.
Those who are still struggling to live are teetering on the brink of death every single day.
Tomorrow is a vague and uncertain concept for them.
Perhaps that will be another continuation of suffering, or perhaps tomorrow will never come at all.
Having spent their days struggling in the dark, their eyes have long lost their light, or perhaps they never had any light at all.
Meanwhile, the people who went up to the nest continued their extravagant lives, as if everything below did not exist.
Two worlds, one nest.
The distance between heaven and hell is only a few hundred meters in height.
Even in the most desperate situations, there is still a lot of room for decline.
If you accidentally awaken a strange ability, then congratulations, you can go to the real hell on earth, the subspace of the physical world, the Nest of the Dead.
The bottom-nest people did not despair, because they had no hope.
The bottom nest seems a little different today.
When Oak was at work, his colleagues approached him furtively, their eyes filled with unease and fear.
"Have you heard? Shangchao has sent a large number of elite troops down here." The colleague lowered his voice, afraid of being overheard.
Oak continued working, but a sudden unease gripped him. Those who went up to the nest never cared about the fate of the bottom nest unless something truly terrible happened.
"what's the situation?"
His colleague looked around to make sure no one was paying attention before continuing, "Something terrible has appeared in the bottom nest, even the big shots in the top nest can't sit still."
“How terrible?” Oak frowned.
"I don't know, but I heard that some of it has already spread to the lower nests." My colleague's voice trembled.
“My cousin works at a waste treatment plant and witnessed several fully armed soldiers being torn to pieces by something.”
"Oh, right! He also heard an incredibly terrifying roar, it must be some kind of monster!" The colleague seemed to suddenly realize something and added.
Oak felt a chill of fear; a monster capable of dealing with the elite forces sent by the Upper Nest was no ordinary creature.
"what should we do?"
My colleague gave a bitter smile: "What can we do? Live as usual, or wait to die."
Just then, a deafening roar came from afar.
“WAAAGH!”
The sound was like thunder, shaking the metal walls of the factory. Oak had never heard such a terrifying sound before.
The factory instantly descended into chaos.
"What is that?" someone cried out in terror.
"It's over, they're orcs!" An older worker exclaimed, his face ashen.
He had heard descriptions of green-skinned orcs in the black market. They were a ferocious alien race that took pleasure in war and slaughter.
"How could there be green-skinned orcs?" Oak couldn't believe his ears.
A worker who had just run in from outside explained breathlessly, "It was the 'Bloodbone' gang from the Bottom Nest who did this! They got hold of a batch of orc spores in order to seize territory in the 'Rust Zone'."
“Are they crazy?” Oak felt a wave of dizziness.
"They thought they could control those green scavengers and get them to help defeat their opponents," the worker said, his voice filled with despair.
"As a result, those fools lost control, and the green-skinned orcs turned against them after flattening the bottom nest, and are now marching towards the lower nest."
The screams and explosions outside the factory grew closer.
Oak thought of his children at home, and his heart pounded in his chest. He had to go back immediately and escape this place with his children.
"Everyone, evacuate immediately!" The factory manager finally gave the order, but it was too late.
The factory gates were flung open with tremendous force, and several enormous, green-skinned creatures rushed in. They wielded crude weapons, their eyes gleaming with a frenzied bloodlust.
"WAAAGH!" the green-skinned orcs roared in unison, and then began an indiscriminate massacre.
Oak hid behind a machine, watching helplessly as his colleague was cleaved in two. Blood splattered on the wall, forming eerie patterns.
He had to live, for the sake of his child.
Chapter 130 The Emperor and the Angels Unleash a Powerful Strike!
While the green-skinned orcs were busy slaughtering the other workers, Orc quietly moved toward the back door.
"These bottom-dwelling gangs are absolutely insane," Oak cursed inwardly. "It's like they brought about the destruction of the entire city just to grab a piece of land."
These gangs' actions are baffling. It's like Chan Ho-nam bringing in Gul'dan from World of Warcraft to take over Causeway Bay!
Oak finally reached the back door. He took one last look at the carnage inside the factory, then turned and rushed home.
There was chaos on the streets.
Everywhere were people fleeing for their lives and green-skinned orcs chasing after them. Buildings were engulfed in flames, and thick smoke obscured the already gloomy sky.
Oak huddled close to the wall, avoiding the main streets. He knew every alley and shortcut in the Underground Nest. This was the result of years of experience surviving in this hellish environment.
In the distance, a tall tower collapsed with a deafening roar, the dust it raised resembling a curtain of doomsday.
"Damn gang!" Oak gritted his teeth.
A mangled, bloodied figure staggered out from around the corner and collapsed in front of Oak. Half of the man's face was gone, but he was still groaning in pain.
Oak recognized him; he was a minor leader in the "Bloodbone" gang.
“What have you done?” Oak crouched down and questioned.
"We didn't know it would turn out like this..." the henchman said haltingly. "The boss said just a few would be enough to scare the enemy away..."
"Where did you get these orcs from?"
"It was given to me by the master of the upper house..." the foreman coughed up blood, "He said he could control it, but..."
Before he could finish speaking, the junior leader closed his eyes forever.
Oak stood up and continued running towards home, his heart filled with a mixture of fear and anger.
The gangs at the bottom nest, driven by their own selfish interests, brought about the catastrophe that destroyed the entire lower nest. Meanwhile, those at the top nest were secretly fueling the flames, perhaps simply for an experiment.
Oak finally saw his "home," that simple pipe dwelling. He quickened his pace, with only one thought in his mind: to escape with the child.
Hope it's not too late.
Oak found his son, and thankfully the greenskins hadn't arrived yet; his son was unharmed.
Oak grabbed his son's hand. The howls of the green-skinned orcs grew closer, and they had only one way to escape.
"Dad, I'm scared." The son sobbed softly, his thin body trembling.
"Don't be afraid, we'll be alright." Oak tried to appear calm, but he knew it was just a last-minute attempt to comfort him.
As soon as they rushed out of their house, several green-skinned orcs blocked their way.
They were enormous, with bulging muscles and menacing fangs protruding from the corners of their mouths. They wielded bizarre weapons, and their eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty light.
Oak instinctively shielded his son behind him, desperately looking around for a way to escape.
“Dad…” the son’s voice was filled with fear.
“Close your eyes, son.” Oak’s voice was hoarse; he would never be able to fulfill his promise to give his child a better life.
Just as the orc raised his weapon to strike the father and son, a strange hissing sound came from the sky. The sound grew louder and louder, like rumbling thunder.
The green-skinned orc stopped what he was doing and looked up at the sky.
"I think it's a shooting star!"
Another green-skinned creature squinted and looked, "So many shooting stars! I think I should make a wish!"
"I wish for endless war and powerful adversaries!" the third orc howled excitedly.
Oak looked up and saw countless points of light swooping down from the sky at an astonishing speed.
The "meteor" was getting closer and closer, and its size was also getting larger.
boom!
A meteor struck two green-skinned orcs with pinpoint accuracy, instantly turning them into a bloody pulp. The violent impact kicked up a cloud of dust.
Oak instinctively hugged his son tightly, shielding him with his body. When the smoke cleared, Oak's eyes widened.
A giant warrior clad in golden armor stood before them.
The armor was engraved with sacred runes and shone with golden light. A majestic and holy lion was carved on the breastplate.
He was tall and imposing, like a lion, wielding a massive heavy sword dripping with green orc blood.
The green-skinned orcs' wish has come true; they have encountered a powerful adversary: Garen, the Primarch of the First Legion of another world, the Might of Demacia.
The remaining green-skinned orcs howled and charged toward the warrior.
The warrior did not retreat; instead, he let out a deafening roar: "Demacia!"
Oak and his son watched as Garen wielded his greatsword in a peculiar posture. He spun rapidly like a top, the blade tracing deadly arcs.
The sharp greatsword easily sliced through the green-skinned orc's body, and green blood splattered onto the ground.
Seconds later, all the orcs were cut into pieces.
More "shooting stars" fell from the sky, each one a warrior clad in black power armor. Their armor was decorated with mysterious runes, inspiring awe and fear.
One of them walked up to Garen, took off his helmet, and revealed a handsome, aged face.
He was remarkably composed, his eyes as calm as a deep pool yet penetrating. This was Leon Johnson, the Primarch of the Dark Angels.
