These pastors are no different from the religious style that my father destroyed in the past, combined with the crosses they wear and the words "the common faith of mankind" mentioned earlier.

Haha, a bunch of self-proclaimed superior beings, ignoring the gods that their spirit race actually had, and instead worshipping the gods of a bunch of monkeys?

Even if they share the same beliefs, it's possible they're just desperately seeking any solution.

However, it's not to the point that one's own behavior patterns evolve into human postures.

When these priests came before Koz, apart from their pointed ears and height exceeding that of ordinary humans, their overall behavior and demeanor were exactly the same as those of the officials in Terra who had met him before; they were practically cut from the same mold.

If we let the Eldar judge for themselves, these people will probably just make a fool of themselves on the spot.

Coz stood with his hands behind his back, looking down at the approaching figures.

"Can you tell me whether your behavior is due to devout faith or a perverted act born from your past noble mindset? After all, humans also have behaviors like dressing up and doing despicable things to satisfy their inner desires."

The leading priest, named Slebit, bowed respectfully.

“My father’s name was Sibi, one of the first two Messianic prophets, who personally received the teachings of the Lord and the Messiah. We know that all things under the frosty sky are ordained by God.”

"The order of sentient beings is nothing but a fallacy."

"Born of wisdom, only by doing good and following one's heart can one seek the path to the Kingdom of Heaven."

Koz nodded in agreement, and when Slybitt mentioned the Lord and the Messiah, a strange smile appeared on his face.

His own predictions have been proven true to some extent.

He strolled around the priests, seemingly sizing up his prey, or perhaps scrutinizing something else entirely.

The priests began to tremble and sweat profusely under the invisible pressure of the Primarch.

But there seems to be a stronger force of faith supporting the pastors to remain calm and face whatever the future may bring with a gentle attitude.

They have dedicated their lives to this cause, and if they were to die here, they would not harbor resentment, but would only feel that what they had done was still insufficient, and wonder whether they would be recognized by the Lord and the Messiah after entering the Kingdom of Heaven.

Tap tap tap—tap!

Koz stopped; he had finished thinking as he was walking.

He smiled and spoke:

"Your actions prove the fervor of your faith. Tell me, who exactly is this so-called benefactor and messiah you speak of?"

"Benefactor? God has no favors for us. Messiah? The Cult of Mechanism does have a similar description of 'Omnesia'."

Seeing that the Primarch had relented, Slybit breathed a sigh of relief, straightened his priest's robes, and immediately replied:

"Please allow me to address you as Your Excellency. You are the son of the Lord of mankind, the son of the Lord, and the brother of the Messiah. You should know that during the height of mankind, the most prosperous religious belief was called Christ."

"That is, your father, the Emperor of Mankind, is our benefactor."

“Your brother, Messiah, Jesus Christ.”

Koz started pacing back and forth again, something swirling in his mind, a frown on his face.

"This is not a good situation. You understand humanity's past, but do you know humanity's present? Your so-called benefactor personally smashed all the churches—"

He pointed to the temple guarded by the priests, where ancient myths about the Eldar gods from the origins of the Eldar were enshrined.

However, one cross was surrounded by all the sacred relics of the Spirit Race. Even the phoenix, which symbolizes Asuyan, had to bow slightly and use its wings to protect the base of the cross.

“The cross, my father hated this the most. In all of Terra, apart from the scaffolding on construction sites, you probably won’t see any cross-shaped structures.”

Coz's words alarmed the priests, and many began to turn and kneel in prayer. Only Slebit remained relatively calm, but he too hurriedly asked:

"Why is this happening? Is there a conflict between the Lord and the Messiah? Is it because people only know Jesus Christ and have forgotten God?"

“Our Lord should not care about these things. According to my father Sibi’s records, the bond between our Lord and Messiah is as vast as the ocean, flowing from the heavens to the abyss for countless hours without ever breaking.”

Koz, feigning seriousness, nodded and said:

"Probably so. My father was actually a petty person. He was indeed jealous that most people only remembered Christ and used His name as a simple interjection or even a swear word."

"Therefore, he almost erased all records of religion in modern human civilization and instead created Imperial Truth."

He spoke earnestly, but didn't tell too many lies; his expression was compassionate.

"Therefore, the faith you describe is, according to the current laws of the Empire, a betrayal that requires execution."

As soon as Koz finished speaking, the Primarch Guards behind him raised their slug guns in unison, showing no interest in the nonsense their father had been spouting.

Then I heard someone say "execute".

I was even a little disappointed.

It was just execution, not torture.

Many of them still need more material to hone their execution techniques.

Slebit looked puzzled but not afraid. He simply reassured the priest and they all knelt down facing the cross.

"Perhaps our Lord has his own plans. Our mission may have been completed. This world is lost and we cannot redeem it personally. So be it. Thank you for your grace, Lord's offspring and Messiah's brother. Our burdens in the mortal world are finally coming to an end. We will wait for you in heaven."

After he finished speaking, he closed his eyes, clasped hands with the pastors, stood shoulder to shoulder, and with devout expressions, welcomed the end of his life.

Koz's expression instantly turned boring. Just like interrogating a criminal, these people who are impervious to reason and who can be easily swayed by any amount of persuasion are the most boring.

Koz was tired of winning interrogations through mere torture, and besides, these were his brothers, so he wouldn't lay a hand on them.

We've already confirmed that these Eldar priests have no ill intentions towards humans, so there's nothing wrong with them staying.

He clapped his hands, signaling his guards to come forward, but not to carry out the execution.

“Take them back to Norstar. I want to select a few cities as testing grounds to see which method can better promote the progress of our home planet.”

"There is no need to worry that such behavior violates the truth of the Empire, nor should we discuss without authorization which Messiah, my brother, they are talking about."

The children remained silent, signifying their complete obedience to Coz's words.

“Father, you are so naughty. If I want to find a cross, I can only go to the two left by Don and Perturabo. Now there is one here, and it’s so easy to get it.”

Amidst the puzzled looks of the Eldar priests, Koz ordered his retinue to escort them away.

"By the way, there's a box in my room with some flatbread inside. Share it with them; conditions are a bit tough. We'll distribute the wine after you arrive on Norstar."

He waved his hand, indicating that everyone could go about their business and leave, as he was about to enter the temple to see the cross.

The priests, who were unwilling to flee even when attacked by the Dark Eldar, did so to protect this object.

Now that the Primarch has arrived in person, these priests no longer resist, seemingly acquiescing to the Primarch's permission to make contact.

Slybit was being carried to the ship, and as he looked back one last time, he saw Conrad Coates entering the temple.

In that instant, it seemed as if all the totems of the ancient spirit race were laughing, whether out of mockery or excitement, it was hard to tell.

The most active on the left is Kane, the God of War, who violated Asuyan's rules, committed a crime, and whose hands will bleed for the rest of his life.

The Blood God, who was carrying out the killing, turned his head, seemingly to stop Coz from approaching the cross.

Koz merely glanced up dismissively:

"Innocent blood may be good, but it is far inferior to my brother's blood."

Chapter 323 Why Does Your God of War Have Pointy Ears? (3K)

He ignored the Blood God's provocation; they were just fragments.

In his prophecies, anything related to blood is always prone to crumbling into dust.

But it seems to easily lead you in rather strange directions.

A fragment of the Blood God is now hidden here, and it is only because it is protected by its brother's sacred object that it remains safe and sound.

Otherwise, the bloodhounds would have arrived long ago.

As for the other Eldar gods, their reactions were minimal, mostly echoes from the past in the Warp.

Even the white phoenix, one of the symbols of the god-king Asuyan, although closest to the cross, had the weakest reaction.

It's like some kind of cat mixed in with a washing machine—a really strange description.

Koz shook his head, trying to maintain his ability to think calmly.

He finally arrived at the cross, looked up, and realized that the object was neither large nor holy.

In the end, it was just a tool of torture used to bind mortals. How big could it be?

But it is this very object—

The wood, having been preserved through countless materials and chemicals, has lost its original color and carries the ancient scent of time.

On the left and right sides of the cross, as well as below the center, there were stains of blood that had dried and turned black.

Koz took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and resisted the urge to smash it to pieces with a single punch.

“Brother—I can see a bright future, but that doesn’t mean I can be indifferent to the pain of the past.”

"I have always been a vengeful person."

Koz stated firmly, as a pale arm reached out from behind him, holding some food in its hand, indicating that he had eaten quite a bit on the way to deliver it himself.

The arm fed the remaining food into Coz's mouth; the taste was neither good nor bad, it seemed to be leftovers.

Why does it smell like my father's saliva?

When Coz stole his father's drinks and wine, the Primarch's biometrics recorded those smells.

Oh well, it's home-cooked food anyway.

Koz swallowed it, and within his completely dark pupils, golden light and thunderous roars surged, as the black domain he expanded engulfed the white temple.

The echoes of the Eldar gods quietly accepted their fate of annihilation, while only the fragments of Kane remained, filled with rage and unwilling to lose this sanctuary.

From the shadows of Koz, an arm extended a complete body, drawing an execution sword and pointing it at the wailing Kane.

Obey me! I'll spare your life!

"You dare call yourself a war god? Coward, submit!"

The ghost shouted, but the humanoid figure in the center remained motionless. The shadowy humanoid figure had already walked forward with a sword, stabbing at the hands that were bleeding profusely with terror.

Ultimately, Kane was pierced through.

The shadow's rage was even greater, completely subduing the blood hand and crushing it into a dull, blood-red crystal.

The crystal floated into Koz's hand, which he examined closely.
