Marum had no choice but to remain silent and begin cutting and installing the materials as Anda had requested.
While the Ultramarines are not masters of mechanical construction, that is only relative to other legions.
They are so well-rounded that they know a little bit about everything.
Before long, a small submarine that could accommodate four people was completed.
The entire structure is made of wood. The waterproof joints were covered by the auxiliary laser that Marum used to melt some metal sheets and apply them.
Poseidon approached Marum with great interest, though he had no interest in Marum; humanoid creatures were hardly appealing to him anymore.
His main concern was that it was the first time he had seen the legendary mechanical metal structure up close, not to mention the fact that he almost chopped off his own chainsaw sword.
It turns out that there are such ingeniously structured metal creations in the world, besides other species of organisms.
Life is no longer the most exquisite creation in this natural world; humankind, through its own wisdom, has created an equally exquisite existence!
Even after the lasers finished firing, they were still warm, and the dark muzzle of the gun was even more mysterious.
Poseidon couldn't help but exclaim in admiration:
"Natural evolution is too slow. If we could create products using such mechanical structures according to human thought, and simultaneously and freely adjust their temperature and size—"
"Ah, bliss."
While Poseidon was speaking, Anda had already sneaked up behind him and pinned him to the ground.
Peeping into Imperial mechanical products will lead to your own downfall!
"Give up your foolish idea! Your physical strength isn't that much greater than a human's, just a bit tougher. If those mechanical cavities contracted and their interiors were replaced with blades or the meshing teeth of a crusher, you wouldn't find this so pleasant!"
Anda knew he had made a mistake that led his best friend down the wrong path.
He won't make the same mistake again; he must stop Poseidon before he develops feelings for his mechanical creations!
Poseidon thought about the feeling of being crushed, cut, or run over, and couldn't help but shudder:
"Is it really that scary? Never mind, I was just thinking about it. Since you've said that, then forget it."
Poseidon chuckled and slowly backed away, watching Marum use a simple mechanical structure to control the submarine's basic operations.
I thought to myself, it doesn't seem that serious.
He was clever and realized that if he could make good use of the limiting device, he might be able to get a more extreme experience.
This good younger brother must be hiding something from me; he needs to spend some time studying mechanical progress!
Chapter 119 Aaron's First Time in the Sea, Little Pei Gets Beaten Up (4K)
In the early hours of the next day, under the cover of darkness, Marum carried the submarine at the front, heading towards the Aegean Sea port.
Aaron was a little nervous. As the night grew slightly cooler, he began to worry about what would happen if Ryan were alone at night and encountered wind and rain after he left.
Although we already have a house, there are no shields on the windows and doors. Sometimes the wind blows in, and the children might catch a cold.
Although he understood that worrying about his Primarch's body was almost ridiculous, these thoughts just kept popping into his head.
Uncle Poseidon was going to make him a fork, and estimating Ryan's height, he tentatively asked:
"Uncle, could you make that fork so that the length can be controlled? My little brother is still very small, but he's growing very fast. I hope it can grow to match his size."
Poseidon preferred chatting with his innocent and pure nephew rather than his other brother, who was so lewd that he always misunderstood what he said.
Poseidon answered gently:
“Of course! The size of the material world is no problem at all for the power we use. This trident will be Poseidon’s weapon, second only to my trident!”
"By the way, what will my future nephew do with this fork?"
Before the sea god, Aaron firmly declared:
"Spear fish!"
With this fork, it will be much easier for Ryan to catch fish, and he will have a handy weapon.
That power sword in the stone was just too big; it was very troublesome to wield.
Poseidon's face was ashen as he pointed ahead:
"Sweetie, go check the road conditions in front of your butler first, so we don't get spotted by passersby."
After Aaron left, Poseidon looked at Anda with a serious expression:
“I have serious doubts about Aaron’s emotional intelligence. He speaks too bluntly. What am I, the sea god? He wants to use my weapons to spearfish.”
"How exactly did you raise your child? When you're at your sweetest, you can charm us all into doing things for you willingly."
Anda, with an expression as calm as still water, picked his nose:
"This is great. You spearfish too, the effect is the same. Alright, stop being so sentimental. We are human beings. As long as we ensure the continuation of human civilization, we have fulfilled our duty."
Poseidon rolled his eyes at Anda: "You really think of yourself as the guardian of human civilization? We used to think of them as monkeys. You weren't this concerned before."
Anda put her hands behind her back, and her posture became a little more upright:
"An old friend advised me to do this, and besides, now—"
He glanced at Aaron, who was walking ahead and diligently checking the road conditions, and a slight smile appeared on his lips:
"At least while Aaron is still alive, let him see the beauty of the world, instead of the messy corruption of demons."
Poseidon murmured "Oh," and gave a strange laugh:
"No wonder Erda chose you; your family is so loving and harmonious. I've decided that after this incident is over, I'm going to pursue true love too!"
This was the first time since the old friends met that they had talked so amicably, without any physical altercations.
As we chatted, we arrived at the port where the river meets the sea.
Apart from the personnel on duty at the lighthouse, the rest of the place was quiet, and there was no need to worry about being discovered.
Marum put the submarine into the sea and wanted to find paint to paint the Ultramarines logo on it. This was a faithful act of a steward to label the Emperor's assets as fixed assets!
Unfortunately, time was limited, so I could only leave a hand-carved mark, just like I did last time when I carved a mark on the bottom of a Scarab.
He opened the hatch, revealing his true form.
The tall, blue-armored figure lowered its arm and carried Aaron into the submarine.
Then there's Adachi.
Poseidon was quite amazed and even touched the outer shell of the power armor, feeling the coldness and toughness of the ceramic steel.
"Indeed, I've never seen this material before. This thing's true form is truly magnificent. Could Marum be a robot?"
Poseidon's gaze was fixed firmly on the Ultramariner's near-perfect armor decorations.
The light in Poseidon's eyes slowly faded only after Marum returned to his human form, leaving him quite disappointed.
Damn it, let him see more of his body completely encased in metal!
However, Poseidon tried his best to control his impulses and focused on learning how to operate a submarine.
I need to keep one of these for myself in the future; maybe then I can go to those ocean depths that even my immortal body would find difficult to withstand.
Marum finally entered the submarine and closed the hatch.
He went to the front of the rear cabin, turned the dial, and part of the outer shell gradually opened, allowing seawater to pour in.
Then, using superhuman strength to mimic the coupling operations that only hydraulic or pneumatic machinery can accomplish, they forcibly closed the outer cabin.
After the bottom compartment was completely filled with water, the submarine began to sink.
Marum then walked to the foot-operated transmission structure and, with his own strength, shook both sides of the traditional structure, causing the submarine to begin to move forward.
An Astartes would be a bit too over-the-top for the pre-Christian era.
Aaron thought one of the structures on either side was reserved for him, and even considered sitting on it and starting to step on it.
He had no choice but to go to his father's side and look at the only small window, made of completely transparent glass.
These panes of glass were made during the day when the father's fists were crackling with lightning as he beat Poseidon, the lightning striking the nearby land.
"I didn't know it was so dark underwater. I thought I could see very clearly."
Aaron watched as the view outside the glass grew increasingly deep, with the light streaming in from above even becoming segmented, indicating that even the ocean, which appeared as a single entity, had distinct layers at different depths.
He asked, "Father, light travels in different ways in different materials."
Anda pushed his son aside and made him stand at the back. The glass hadn't passed any safety standards when it was installed; he just figured the strength should be enough.
"I don't have time to explain the Tyndall effect or Darwin's effect to you right now, but I'm glad you're interested in physics. Now, stay put in the very center, in the oxygen-rich cabin—"
"Damn it, we forgot to consider this. From now on, everyone except Aaron, stop breathing!"
The old father then realized that the submarine was not equipped with an oxygen supply system, and the materials available at the time did not allow for such a system.
In other words, they had to complete the mission before Aaron suffocated and then return to the surface of the sea.
Fortunately, of the four people present, only Aaron needed to breathe; the other three could hold their breath for a while.
Poseidon, in particular, was able to use his lungs to beat the seawater, extract oxygen from it, and then expel the seawater back out.
Isn't the human body amazing?
Aaron looked at his father's reaction with surprise. The old man was starting to act like a human again, and he had to be careful at all times.
Soon, the pre-Christian submarine submerged to the appropriate position, and Anda stretched out his hands:
"Light!"
And so light appeared in the deep sea, illuminating the seabed, as if the submarine had its own searchlight.
In the light, they saw the hideous scar, the ugly mark on the seabed hills.
The scar is purplish-black in color, and its surface is covered with hardened scabs and stretched, compressed skin fragments, replacing the seaweed or coral that should have been there.
It is obviously different from ordinary seabed sand.
There were no living marine creatures to be found here, only a withered arm about ten meters long clinging to the center of the scar, with scabs and threads that had fallen off the arm.
Looking at the arm itself, Aaron even thought it was just a large human arm, with more skin wrinkles.
Aaron couldn't help but sigh, while still trying to stop his father from pushing him to the back.
"So these are Titans? I thought they would be like in mythology, with bodies made of stone or trees."
