But then he said, somewhat angrily, "Didn't you say you could handle it yourself? How did it turn out like this?"
Iceberg gave a wry smile and had no choice but to reveal his original plan.
"I didn't expect the people sent by the World Government to be so ruthless, giving me no room to maneuver at all," Iceberg said helplessly.
"Do you know who is in charge of the people sent by the World Government?" Lin Yi asked with a strange expression.
"Who is it?" Iceberg asked, bewildered.
"Spandam's father, Spandam."
"Ah! No wonder," Iceberg said with a wry smile.
"You should go and rest first; your injury is still quite serious," Lin Yi said.
Iceberg nodded without saying a word, but looked at Lin Yi with a pleading gaze.
Lin Yi understood the meaning in his eyes and said, "Don't worry, I will protect Water City."
"Thank you." After saying that, Tom led her to the medical room, and Reiju followed, since Iceberg's injuries still needed to be treated.
"Dota, how much longer until we reach Water Seven?" Lin Yi asked Dota.
"It will take about 30 more minutes," Dota replied after glancing at the map on the smartwatch. This smart control system was redeemed by Lin Yi from the system store; it could accurately record the route taken and was very useful.

Spandam sat in his chair with a gloomy expression, his fingers tapping incessantly on the table, quietly awaiting news of the CP0 elite team's capture of Franky.
Not long after, Luther Hughes reported the situation via Den Den Mushi. Upon hearing the words "Franky is missing," Spandam instantly flew into a rage, jumping up and pointing at Luther Hughes's nose, yelling, "You bunch of useless idiots! You can't even catch one person!"
Luther Hughes was no pushover. As the captain of the CP0 elite squad, how could he tolerate such insults? He immediately retorted without backing down, "If you're so capable, go catch it yourself! What are you yelling about here for!" And so, the two of them went back and forth, neither willing to give in, and began to argue fiercely.
The argument lasted for several minutes until those around him intervened and Spandam gradually regained some composure. He said, "Alright, now is not the time to blame each other. Let's hurry up and find a way to continue searching for Franky's whereabouts. The Hades blueprints are very likely on him."
Since it concerned the blueprints for Hades, Luther Hughes stopped arguing with Spandane, since the task of finding the blueprints for Hades was given to him by Saint Sigdel.
However, it would be very difficult for just a few of them to find Franky in such a large city as Water Seven, so Luther Hughes asked Spandane for help.
After some deliberation, Spandam also felt that the chances of success relying solely on Luther Hughes and his men were extremely slim. Left with no other choice, he decided to take matters into his own hands, leading over a hundred of his men in small boats to Water Seven to conduct a full-scale search.
Upon arriving at their destination, Spandam directed his men to scatter and search every nook and cranny. They checked and searched house to house, even infiltrating some suspicious locations to investigate. However, more than two hours passed, and they still found nothing.
As time ticked away, Spandam grew increasingly anxious. According to the plan, Lin Yi and his group should be arriving soon; if they delayed any longer, they might miss their chance. With that thought, he gritted his teeth and ultimately decided to abandon the search operation, ordering everyone to board the small boats and return to the warship to prepare for the impending arrival of their enemies—Lin Yi and his crew.
Upon seeing Spandam suddenly issue the order to retreat and abandon the pursuit of Franky, Luther Hughes frowned, pondering the reasons behind Spandam's actions. Logically, now that they had obtained crucial information about the Hades blueprints, they should have been fully committed to the search. However, Spandam's attitude suggested he was merely going through the motions, as if he didn't take the matter seriously at all.
"Could it be that this guy is hiding something from me?" Luther Hughes muttered to himself, his doubts growing stronger.
Meanwhile, Spandam hurriedly returned to the warship and, without any delay, immediately issued a loud order: "All ships on alert! Turn the bows around immediately and aim all cannons at the direction from which Water Seven is coming!" With his order, the entire warship immediately sprang into action, and the soldiers carried out their tasks in a tense but orderly manner, and the atmosphere instantly became extremely tense.
Not long after, the Angel of Judgment slowly entered Spandam's field of vision. Watching the approaching enemy ship, Spandam's eyes flashed with rage, and he gritted his teeth, cursing under his breath, "You utterly despicable bastards, today is your day of reckoning! I will cast you all into the abyss of hell, never to be reborn!"
As the Angel of Judgment finally came within the effective range of the warship's cannons, Spandam could no longer contain his anger and decisively gave the order to fire: "All personnel, listen up! Fire hard on the ship directly in front of you! Leave no survivors!" With his hoarse roar, the cannons roared in unison, and shells rained down on the Angel of Judgment, instantly creating a huge wave on the sea.
"Heh, it seems this Spandam is in a hurry to avenge the killing of his son," Lin Yi said with a laugh, watching the black dot fly towards them.
"Hmph, this beast has been around for a few days too." Robin said through gritted teeth, his eyes filled with hatred.
"Don't worry, Robin, this guy won't live past today," Felina comforted Robin, hugging her arm.
"Heh, a mere trick." Da Pan sneered disdainfully, leaped into the air, and with a light sweep of his dragon-patterned staff, intercepted a large number of cannonballs.
"Haha, me too." Kerry laughed and flew into the air. He waved his hands, and a dense barrage of short arrows formed from bubbles shot at the incoming cannonballs, detonating them in mid-air.
Explosions rang out in quick succession.
Seeing that the shelling had no effect, Spandam's expression turned extremely ugly, and an indescribable shock and anger welled up in his heart.
His powerful cannon had always been invincible, never failing. But today, facing Lin Yi and his group, it seemed to have lost its former might, failing to even scratch a hair on their heads.
"Give me 72mm Flame Shells!" Spandam gritted his teeth, forcing out the words, his voice so cold it seemed to freeze the surrounding air.
"Yes, sir!" The adjutant beside him, upon hearing the order, dared not delay in the slightest and immediately responded loudly. Then, he quickly turned around and ran towards the artillery position behind them to relay the order.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Big Pan and Kerry were having a great time. They were completely unaware that the originally pitch-black shells had quietly changed—they had all turned into much larger, brightly colored red shells.
Just as Da Pan swung his dragon-patterned staff and swept it out again, his expression suddenly changed. It turned out that when his staff touched one of the red cannonballs, he felt an unusual, intense heat emanating from it. Da Pan knew he was in trouble and quickly retreated.
In the blink of an eye, the red shell that Da Pan had hit didn't explode like the previous black shells. Instead, like an enraged beast, it spewed forth a torrent of raging flames. These flames, like ferocious fire dragons, spread wildly in all directions, quickly forming a vast sea of fire. A rough estimate suggests that this sea of fire covered an area equivalent to half a football field!
Fortunately, Da Pan reacted extremely quickly, retreating decisively the moment he sensed the danger. Otherwise, he would probably already be trapped in that terrifying sea of fire.
The flames did not dissipate immediately after they spread out, but instead rushed straight towards the Angel Judgment.
"Kerry, be careful, those red shells are a bit strange," Da Pan said hurriedly.
Upon hearing this, Kerry's heart tightened, knowing the gravity of the situation and daring not to be careless. He swiftly moved his hands, sending beams of light shooting forth that instantly coalesced into countless bubble arrows. These bubble arrows shot densely towards the 72 surging flame cannonballs, attempting to intercept them.
However, the flames released by those 72 incendiary shells were exceptionally fierce and violent, like hellfire burning everything in its path. Although the bubble arrows successfully intercepted some of the flames midway, these flames had a powerful ability to spread, spreading like wildfire. Faced with such a fierce fire, Kerry had to retreat repeatedly to avoid being burned by the flames.
At the same time, massive amounts of flames rained down from the sky like falling meteorites, carrying a suffocatingly intense heat. Even though the people on the ship were some distance away, they could still feel the scorching heat, and a sense of discomfort welled up in their hearts.
At that moment, Simon and Dote exchanged a knowing glance, and without hesitation, leaped into the turbulent sea. They swam nimbly and freely in the water, like two agile fish. Then, simultaneously, they unleashed their Fish-Man Karate techniques, thrusting their palms forward, sending several incredibly thick jets of water shooting into the sky like dragons emerging from the sea.
These powerful jets of water crashed violently into the raging flames. The water and fire met, producing a hissing sound, as if engaged in a fierce life-or-death struggle. With a deafening roar, a large amount of steam billowed out, blurring the entire space and obstructing vision.
Spandam, watching from a distance, grew increasingly grim and menacing as he witnessed the scene. He roared through gritted teeth, "Keep firing! Keep attacking! I refuse to believe they can withstand our bombardment forever!" With his order, a new and even more intense barrage of artillery fire followed.
This time, however, Da Pan clearly wasn't giving the enemy any chance! His already formidable Dragon-Coiling Staff instantly grew enormous, resembling a real dragon coiling and dancing in the air. The flaming projectiles that had just been launched and hadn't yet traveled far were easily destroyed by the enlarged staff, as fragile as paper.
Moreover, some of the incendiary bombs, which hadn't yet traveled far, were prematurely detonated due to the violent impact and interference from the Panlong Staff. The raging flames, like a pack of ferocious beasts, lunged at the warship carrying Spandam. In an instant, flames shot into the sky, thick smoke billowed, and the entire warship was engulfed in a sea of fire.
Seeing this terrifying scene before him, Spandam's face contorted with rage, his eyes bloodshot as he roared, "Aaaaah, utterly despicable! Why? Why are you so powerful! This is not fair!"
His voice, filled with resentment and anger, resounded through the sky, as if it would shatter the entire world.
Chapter 71 Spanda's Death
Chaos reigned on the warship, and many soldiers who were unable to dodge were caught in the falling flames, their screams filling the air.
On the battlefield, thick with smoke and fire, Spandam's face was as somber as the night sky before a torrential downpour. He clenched his teeth, his eyes fixed on everything unfolding before him, each glance like a poisoned arrow. His hands clenched unconsciously into fists, his knuckles turning white from the force, his nails digging deep into his palms, yet he seemed oblivious. Deep within him, a powerful sense of powerlessness surged like a raging tide, engulfing him in endless despair.
He never imagined that the incredibly powerful weapon he had always relied on would be like a child's toy against Lin Yi and his group, unable to inflict even the slightest damage. The immense power generated by that weapon, which in previous battles would have struck fear into the hearts of any enemy, had now crumbled before Lin Yi and his companions. This drastic disparity filled him with a deep sense of defeat, a feeling like a sharp thorn piercing his heart, each beat accompanied by excruciating pain.
Spandam stood there, motionless, like a soulless statue, a heavy cloud of despair hanging over him. Time seemed to slow to a crawl; every second was agonizing. But after a moment, his gaze hardened again, like that of a raging beast, radiating a chilling aura. He was determined to avenge his only son; this resolve burned like a raging fire within him.
Although he was a coward, Spandam was his only hope, the continuation of his life, and his only solace in this cruel world. Now, with that hope shattered, his world collapsed instantly, and there was no longer any place for fear in his heart. He was like a madman who had lost all restraints, left only with a heart full of hatred and a frenzied desire for revenge.
Meanwhile, the surrounding soldiers were engulfed in flames, their cries of agony echoing throughout the room. But Spandam seemed oblivious to their cries, his eyes devoid of any pity or sympathy. He strode towards his adjutant, who was still directing the rescue efforts. The adjutant was frantically busy, his forehead covered in beads of sweat, his face etched with exhaustion and anxiety.
Spandam walked up to his adjutant, suddenly reaching out a hand that gripped the adjutant's collar like an iron clamp, then lifted him up with a powerful jerk. The adjutant's feet left the ground, kicking helplessly in the air, his face contorted in terror. Spandam glared at the adjutant, his eyes seeming to want to devour him alive, and roared, "Go and order the captains of those three warships to sail at full speed toward the enemy ships! I want them to pay a heavy price!"
The adjutant was terrified by Spandam's狰狞 (zhengning - ferocious/hideous) face, his body trembling uncontrollably, his eyes filled with fear and panic. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but found his throat as if something was blocking it, and he couldn't utter a sound. It wasn't until Spandam roared again that he snapped out of his daze, hurriedly nodded, and then stumbled towards the command room.
In Water Seven, Luther Hughes and his companions, who were still searching for Franky, were all dumbfounded when they heard the sound of cannons. What the hell was going on?
"Damn it, Spandam is definitely hiding something from us. If we mess up the mission Saint Sigdel gave us, I'll kill him!" Luther Hughes said through gritted teeth.
"Boss, what should we do now?" a CP0 member asked.
Luther Hughes glanced at the still-ringing cannons outside the city and said angrily, "Let's go see what that idiot Spandam is up to."
The team members naturally had no objections and quickly ran towards the direction of the battle.
Meanwhile, on the Angel's Judgment side, seeing that the enemy had stopped attacking, Da Pan, Kerry, Dota, and Simon returned to the Angel's Judgment.
"Brother, those guys' shells were really insidious; they almost got me killed." Da Pan said somewhat unhappily after returning to the ship.
"Heh, that's all the tricks they have left," Felina said dismissively.
“Oh, they seem to be heading this way,” Fiona suddenly said.
Looking ahead, they saw three warships heading straight towards them, their flames extinguished and thick smoke rising.
"What do they want to do?" Chiyo asked, holding a rolling pin, somewhat puzzled.
"Who cares? Just beat them down when they come," Da Pan said nonchalantly, brandishing his dragon-patterned staff.
As everyone was talking, Spandam arrived at the Angel of Judgment a short distance away on his warship and stopped.
Spandam stood on the somewhat messy bow of the ship, looking at Lin Yi with hatred in his eyes, and shouted loudly: "Lin Yi, you killed my son, today I will make you and your companions pay for my son's death."
"I didn't kill your son, don't talk nonsense," Lin Yi denied.
"Hmph, do you think I'll let you go just because you don't admit it? But if you kneel down and beg me, maybe I'll spare your companions," Spandam said coldly.
"It really wasn't me, you must have made a mistake," Lin Yi said earnestly.
“Brother, he must have made a mistake. I saw who killed his son.” Da Pan said very seriously.
“Yes, sir, your son really wasn’t killed by our captain,” Philina chimed in.
Seeing their confident expressions, Spandam couldn't help but feel a little doubtful. Could it be that Spandam really wasn't killed by Lin Yi and his group?
"Since you say you didn't kill my son, then who did?" Spandam said coldly.
“It’s me.” Robin, who had been silent all along, suddenly stepped forward and said, her eyes fixed on Spandam, the figure who had awakened her from the demons countless times. Finally, finally, she saw him again. This time, she would not be afraid.
"Damn it, it was you!" Spandam, seeing that someone had admitted it, knew perfectly well that Lin Yi and the others were playing him for fools. He immediately drew his sidearm from his waist and fired wildly at Robin. However, these special bullets were blocked by Kree's bubble wall before they even got close. After learning Haki, the bubbles he created had become much harder.
"Ha, Spandam, don't you recognize me?" Robin said with a frosty expression.
"I don't care who you are, you dare kill my son, you'll all die!" Spandam roared, then ordered the soldiers behind him, "Shoot them all!"
The bullets in the soldiers' guns are specially made, containing seastone powder, which can effectively harm Devil Fruit users. He went to great lengths to find them.
However, he once again underestimated the enemy in front of him. Faced with these soldiers who were about to fire their guns, Lin Yi and his men did not even move. With just a glance from Fiona, her terrifying Conqueror's Haki was activated, and instantly, the weaker soldiers fell down in droves. Only a few officers with decent strength were able to hold on, but they were now filled with extreme fear.
"What kind of monster are we fighting?" a major said, trembling.
"I...I won't do it, it's too scary, these people are too scary."
"Run! Run!"
Such voices continued to rise among the soldiers who were still able to stand, clearly indicating that they had lost the courage to resist.
As a veteran member of the CP, Spandam was naturally unaffected by Fiona's recently awakened Conqueror's Haki. However, looking at his subordinates who had fallen, his eyes went black. Without these people, how could he take revenge?
While he was still somewhat at a loss, Lin Yi and the others had already arrived on Spandam's warship using moonwalking.
Seeing this, Spandam quickly retreated and drew the long sword from his waist, looking at Lin Yi and the others with a wary expression.
"Haha, what, you think you can beat us?" Lin Yi said jokingly.
To be honest, Spandam is quite strong, at the level of a vice admiral, but for Lin Yi and his group, that strength is not enough.
"Don't be so smug, Lin Yi. I haven't lost yet. Have you forgotten that I still have Iceberg in my hands? And I still have people in Water Seven. Once I die, Water Seven will cease to exist." Spandam said fiercely, though he seemed somewhat weak inside.
