If Dolly notices, she might scold him for his meager gift.
Similar things have happened many times before.
Although Harry is a boy, his thin appearance makes him no match for Dolly, who has learned women's self-defense, is skilled in boxing, and weighs twice as much as him.
"Good child, we have prepared 36 gifts for you this year."
"Although there is one less than last year, don't worry, there is a very important gift among them."
Vernon and Penny have returned to their roles as doting parents to Dolly, as for what happened at the dinner table just now.
Ultimately, it's just giving Harry a room; it's basically just moving the storage room to a different location. There's nothing to worry about too much.
As long as Dolly is happy, everything is fine.
Dolly blinked, contemplating whether she should get angry like Dudley.
After all, Dolly received 37 gifts last year, but only 36 this year. Given Dudley's personality, it would be normal for him to unpack some of them.
Seeing that Dolly seemed unhappy, Penny and Vernon looked nervous and were just about to comfort their daughter.
Dolly suddenly turned to Harry and said, "What gift did you give me, Harry? It's your cousin's birthday today."
Harry froze for a moment, stared at by the three of them, unsure whether to swallow the food in his mouth.
His gift was naturally not included in the 36 gifts, as it was too meager and was simply thrown into a corner by Vernon.
Upon hearing Dolly's words, Vernon seemed to have found a solution.
She quickly bent down and picked up Harry's gifts from the ground, smiling as she said, "Including Harry's gifts, there are 37 items in total."
"But Harry's gift was too shabby. How about your mother and I buy you three more when we go to the zoo to make it forty?"
Dolly nodded and accepted Harry's greeting card.
Then he stuffed the greeting card into the pile of gifts and said, "I've received all your gifts. I'll give you gifts in return when it's your birthday."
"Good boy, hurry up and open it to see what's inside!"
Penny also gave Dolly a hug, which ended the little unpleasantness that had just occurred.
She and Vernon were confident that Dolly would be very happy once she opened the gift.
However, Dolly was actually rather disinterested.
The gifts from both parents ranged from candy, clothes, boxing gloves, to even a folding bicycle.
But for Dolly, a modern soul, what she really wanted was a cell phone, a computer, and access to the internet of the future.
Of course this is impossible.
Is Dolly, who is used to watching dramas and videos online and is always on her phone, really able to adapt to this era?
I was busy with tasks and didn't have time to seriously think about all of this.
Now that she's started thinking about it, Dolly even feels like she's a little depressed.
However, there should be home video game consoles now, but that was obviously not among the gifts her parents gave her, and Dolly didn't like them in the past.
We need to find a way to get it.
Even just getting it to play Mario would be great.
In the end, Dolly chose to show a surprised smile when she saw the bicycle.
After all, she was planning to lose weight, and a bicycle was a good aid for that, while also allowing her to explore the surroundings and get a feel for the environment.
She inherited all of the original owner's memories, but memories are memories, and she could only feel at ease after seeing many things herself.
Vernon and Penny breathed a sigh of relief; next up was taking the two children to the zoo.
“Harry, I must warn you.”
While Petunia was taking Dolly to change her clothes, Vernon warned Harry with a fierce expression.
"Today is Dolly's birthday. Don't cause any more trouble, or I won't let you off the hook."
"I'll make sure you don't eat for at least a week!"
Vernon's warning seemed nonsensical, even like mindless bullying of Harry.
But Vernon's warning was not without reason.
Wizards are wizards because they possess magical power within them.
If this magic is not systematically guided out of the body, it will accumulate in the wizard's body.
Ultimately, this transformed the wizard into the terrifying Obscurus, a monster whose magic had mutated within him.
Alternatively, it could be allowed to be released passively by the wizard, causing a burst of magical power.
That is, when a wizard inadvertently releases magic from his body, it can cause some accidents.
As a highly gifted wizard, Harry experienced bursts of magical power more than once.
For example, hair that has been cut off can be restored overnight.
Another example is someone who, worried about being late, would leap over piles of garbage to reach a high point on campus.
For example, because someone was staring at the teacher's wig, the teacher's wig appeared blue.
If something like this happened once or twice, it would be fine, but after it happened repeatedly, Vernon and Penny naturally realized that it was due to magic.
Each time, just cleaning up the mess caused Vernon a lot of headaches.
Magic itself is something the couple detests and fears most, and now it has appeared in Harry's life.
Vernon and Petunia's dislike for Harry naturally grew stronger over time.
Even the fears hidden within are topics the couple dare not face.
10. Professor McGonagall's visit
Harry himself certainly doesn't understand all of this.
He couldn't understand those strange things either, but if he couldn't understand them, he stopped thinking about them.
After all, Harry is only 11 years old, and he's still three or four years away from the second year of middle school when he thinks he has superpowers to save the world.
Therefore, faced with Vernon's warning, Harry could only passively nod in agreement.
But he had no clue why or how those strange things happened, and he had no way of controlling them.
As for why he didn't consider the direction of magic, the answer is simple: Harry simply didn't have that concept.
His childhood didn't include any beautiful fairy tales, nor did he have time to indulge in wild thoughts.
The four of them had a smooth journey and arrived at the zoo in less than an hour.
After a while, I looked up at the sign in front of me that read "Reptile House".
Dolly sighed inwardly, "What was bound to happen has finally happened."
In the original storyline, Dudley pushed Harry to the ground.
Out of anger, Harry instinctively made the glass of the display case disappear, causing Dudley to fall headfirst into the snake pit.
The python also crawled out, scaring everyone in the exhibition hall into scattering and fleeing.
The glass that Harry had vanished from was transformed back into its original form because it no longer had the magic to sustain it, thus trapping Dudley in the boa constrictor pit.
Dudley's birthday trip thus turned into a terrifying one, and Vernon, having witnessed all of this, naturally understood that Harry was up to something.
Of course, Vernon was unaware that Harry's magical outbursts were uncontrollable.
He just felt that Harry might have mastered magic and was using it to bully his son.
Harry then suffered solitary confinement and hunger until Hogwarts sent him his acceptance letter on his birthday, at which point things entered the next phase.
Dolly naturally didn't want to follow in Dudley's footsteps.
Even if pythons don't bite, falling into a python pit and getting a hug from a python is not a pleasant memory.
Although snakes are quite common in the magical world, Dolly still gets goosebumps at the sight of a snake and doesn't want to have anything to do with such an animal.
So how can we take advantage of Harry discovering that he has Parseltongue and can talk to snakes?
Dolly lowered her head in thought, which made Vernon think his daughter was boring.
He pounded on the glass of the exhibition window, shouting to make the python move so as to please his daughter.
This startled Harry, who quickly said, "He's sleeping, so he doesn't want to move."
Vernon rolled his eyes at these words, but he didn't say anything more outside.
He pulled his wife forward, and Dolly instinctively followed.
But after taking a step, Dolly quietly retreated.
Because Harry hadn't kept up, he found the snake in front of him quite appealing.
So Harry instinctively started talking to himself: "Sorry, buddy, they have no idea how you feel having to lie there every day."
"Just like me, lonely, bored, and anxious."
However, at this moment, the python seemed to understand Harry's words, and looked up to meet Harry's gaze.
Harry's eyes widened in surprise, and he lowered his voice: "You can understand me?"
The python slowly swayed its head up and down, as if nodding.
"This is amazing. I have never spoken to a snake before."
Do you talk to other people often? Is it because you're a special breed?
Harry still couldn't believe his special status, but the python shook its head and turned to look at the nameplate on the side.
The sign above reads "Burmese Python," and the words "hatching inside the park" are also present.
Seeing all this, Harry understood.
He sighed softly, "You and I are both children without parents, and we have never seen our parents."
Hearing this, Dolly knew it was her turn to make her appearance.
So Dolly pushed... no, she pressed on Harry's shoulder.
