Dolly's answer immediately dispelled Fleur's doubts.
Because Furong was too busy raising her eyebrows.
"It's not very big, not even half the size of the Malfoys's."
Who is Malfoy?
Furong asked curiously, her eyes even showing a hint of wariness.
“A very annoying little male wizard, the complete opposite of you.”
“I used to have prejudices against pure-blood wizards, but you, Fleur, have dispelled all my prejudices.”
"It turns out that a person's character has little to do with their family background or origin; what matters is whether two people get along well."
Dolly winked at Fleur, and Fleur couldn't help but laugh.
She knew why; hearing Dolly say those things made her feel completely accepted, and her heart was filled with a sweet, joyful feeling.
"Let's go, my sister is very happy to know you're coming."
“What does Gabrielle like? I have candy, dolls and books here. I’ll pick a few as gifts for her.”
"There's no need for all that trouble..."
Dolly said seriously, "No, it's necessary. As for your parents, here's a wine set."
"As for you... then that's not necessary."
Hibiscus was still figuring out how to refuse Dolly, but Dolly's words completely swayed her, and she raised her voice to ask, "Why do you ask if I don't need it?"
"Isn't spending the whole night with you the best gift?"
Furong burst out laughing again, this time her face turned red.
However, she also admitted, "That's true, this is the first time I've had a friend like you."
"It's a bit too...unconventional, but I like it."
As the heir to a pure-blood family, Fleur had actually come into contact with many boys and girls like Gryffindor, but Dolly was definitely the first one who dared to communicate with her like this and didn't make her dislike her.
However, before Hibiscus could finish speaking, Dolly handed her a small gift box: "Just kidding, how could I forget your gift?"
"I originally planned to give it to you when I returned to England, but I can only give it to you now."
Furong took the gift box, her face a mixture of surprise and joy, and instinctively asked, "What is this?"
Let's make a bet too. (188)
"Would you know if you open it and take a look?"
Furong nodded and quickly opened the gift box in her hand.
Then a slender, elegant bottle with the curve of a swan's neck, shimmering with a faint golden light, appeared before her.
Even though the bottle was still sealed, Furong could already smell a faint floral fragrance.
It's hard to pinpoint the exact flower scent, as it's a complex fragrance painstakingly crafted by Muggle perfumers, and it's a new perfume this year.
Of course, this is a French product.
Dolly was initially worried that giving Fleur a French Muggle industrial creation might upset her, but looking into Fleur's sparkling blue eyes, Dolly knew she had made the right choice.
As expected, girls are completely powerless against this kind of thing.
Even if it's from a Muggle, as long as it's beautiful and fragrant, even a hibiscus would be completely attracted to it.
"This... must be very expensive, right?"
It took Furong a long time to come to her senses. She concealed the excitement on her face and tried her best to appear calm and dignified.
Dolly shrugged and said, "Our friendship is so pure and deep, why should we worry about something as useless as price?"
"This is a gift from me, please accept it."
"As for the price, it's nothing compared to the value of our friendship."
Dolly dodged the question.
It wasn't that Dolly was worried the Fleur family didn't have enough money to buy a gift of the same caliber, but rather that Dolly wasn't really interested in most things in the wizarding world.
Of course, this refers to things that don't involve magic.
If magic is involved, then it truly cannot be measured in money.
Just like the collection in Dumbledore's office, any one of them would be a priceless treasure.
Dolly can't keep asking Fleur for these kinds of things in their daily interactions.
So when it comes to gifts, the most important thing is to make someone happy.
After all, Dolly is now truly financially independent.
Fleur was about to say something more when Dolly quickly changed the subject, saying, "I'm hungry."
These words left Fleur speechless. She then smiled helplessly, accepted the gift from Dolly, and walked with Dolly into the main hall of their house.
Hibiscus's parents obviously knew that Dolly was coming.
They greeted Dolly with smiles and gave her a warm welcome.
Although the words and gestures were polite, there was not much of the arrogance of a pure-blood family, or rather, the arrogance of the Malfoy family.
Of course, it's also possible that they kept all of this hidden in front of Dolly.
After all, the pride, or rather arrogance, that Furong displayed in front of unfamiliar people was still somewhat unbearable.
However, given Furong's captivating and even alluring beauty, this minor flaw is enough to be overlooked by most people.
"Dolly!"
Gabrielle threw herself into Dolly's arms; children are the most innocent and pure.
After realizing that Dolly had saved their family, they now considered Dolly their closest friend.
Especially after Dolly gave her a plush teddy bear, Gabrielle jumped around happily, circling the dining table nonstop.
It was clearly the first time she had ever received a Muggle toy. Although it didn't move or have any magical effects, it was soft and very comfortable to hold, which made it superior to the other wizard toys she owned.
After all, wizards don't really care much about ergonomics.
The Delacours gladly accepted Dolly's gift without any hesitation, clearly taking it as a normal exchange between host and guest.
The subsequent dinner further proved this point.
Mr. Delacour, being a gentle man, thanked Dolly for her help the day before while recounting some French customs and traditions, thus maintaining the atmosphere at the table.
Mrs. Delacour would occasionally probe Dolly's private life, and Dolly didn't hide anything from her.
He truthfully stated that his parents were Muggles, but he had a younger brother named Harry Potter and the Headmaster of Slytherin House as his teacher.
The Delacours' expressions became more genuine as their mindset shifted from a one-time thank you to a long-term investment.
Dolly didn't seem to mind, or rather, that's how adults should communicate.
If Dolly wasn't valuable enough, and the Delacours didn't use Galleons to get rid of her, their integrity already surpasses that of 90% of pure-blood families.
Dolly never imagined that one day she would need Harry to boost her reputation.
It can only be said that Dolly's identity as a wizard born into a Muggle family is far too deceptive.
After all, wizards now find it difficult to rationally understand the status of the Dolly family in the Muggle world.
Well, I guess I don't really have any status now.
Furong looked left and right, initially a little worried.
She was well aware of her parents' personalities, after all, she had received such an education since childhood.
In reality, when interacting with someone like Dolly, Fleur should have displayed the pride and nobility of a pure-blood family.
Unfortunately, Dolly always manages to pull down her facade and awaken her true nature in ways she can't resist.
So much so that now Furong feels that it's best to maintain this friendship with Dolly and not to mix in too much stuff.
Fortunately, Gabrielle finished eating soon and dragged Dolly to go play.
Seeing that the Delacours did not intend to stop her, Dolly bid them farewell and went to Gabrielle's room.
Gabrielle and Fleur actually share a room, sleeping in conjoined bunk beds.
It wasn't because Gabrielle didn't even have her own room; it was mainly because Gabrielle was too young, and Fleur took on some of the responsibility of taking care of her.
This also reveals Furong's true nature.
As an older sister taking care of her younger sister, she not only did not hate her sister because of this heavy responsibility, but also cherished her sister immensely and was willing to pay the price of her life for her.
Such a person must be a loving person.
"Dolly, I have lots of Christmas candy here, let's eat it together!"
Gabrielle shoved a handful of candy into Dolly's hands, then glanced at her sister with a guilty look.
Hibiscus raised an eyebrow, instantly seeing through her sister's thoughts. She clearly wanted to eat but wanted to do it under the guise of entertaining Dolly.
But just as Gabrielle was feeling uneasy, Fleur relented and said, "Go brush your teeth and go to bed at nine o'clock. You're not allowed to eat more than ten candies, understand?"
Gabrielle jumped up excitedly, then hugged Fleur's neck and kissed Dolly.
Then, to Dolly's surprise, she found out that she was also involved.
"Thank you, Dolly!"
Dolly then realized that Gabrielle had taken Fleur's tolerance as a result of Dolly's arrival.
So Dolly returned the favor, saying, "I'll teach you a magic trick for cleaning your teeth in a bit."
"When you have a magic wand and learn this magic in the future, you can eat candy without worry."
"Really?"
"Of course!"
So Dolly pulled Gabrielle down to sit, took her wrist, and taught her the cleansing gestures and spells.
Furong was naturally pleased with this outcome.
