135 The Triumphant Dumbledore
Harry clearly hadn't expected Dolly to ask that question.
Although he felt he knew the answer to the question and really wanted to share it with Dolly.
But the people involved in this issue are far too dangerous, a hundred times more dangerous than Quirrell. Should he really involve his sister in this?
Dolly saw through Harry's thoughts and said, "Harry, I understand your good intentions."
"But are you sure that subjecting me to this attack without warning is truly a well-intentioned act?"
Harry shuddered, remembering everything Dolly had gone through and realizing his own arrogance and hubris.
He may have meant well for Dolly, but it's best not to act on that kind of goodwill.
Unless he can truly protect Dolly, or prevent her from being attacked by anyone.
But he clearly couldn't do that, and neither could Dumbledore, so he could only rely on Dolly to protect him to a large extent.
Therefore, knowing yourself and your enemy is definitely better than knowing nothing at all, and you will be able to analyze the situation more accurately.
So Harry relented.
"I guess it might be that guy, the one whose name I can't say."
He touched his scars and said, "Sister, a lot of unbelievable things have happened, and I don't know how to describe them to you."
Next, Harry explained his connection with Quirrell and other related situations.
Finally, he offered his own assessment: "Although everyone says he's dead, I think he'll come back."
"It's just a feeling, but..."
Harry tried to explain, but Dolly stopped him, saying, "Harry, we are wizards."
"Our senses as wizards are, in a sense, a feeling, especially when it hurts, and it's your scar that's hurting."
"So, what's coming will come."
Dolly shrugged, leaving Harry speechless with her nonchalant attitude.
"Sister, aren't you scared? That's a mysterious person!"
Dolly said, "Not calling him by his name directly is the last bit of respect I can give him."
"Besides, it wasn't me who provoked him first. Since he's determined to treat me as your family and kill me along with you."
"Then I'll just have to find an opportunity to smash his nose."
However, he'll have to wait until he has a nose first—Dolly thought to herself.
Harry laughed happily, revealing his back teeth.
He even started to have a fit of chuunibyou (adolescent delusions of grandeur), feeling that he should shoulder this secret and then crawl in the shadows... no, I mean, bravely walk alone, and finally have a life-or-death battle with Voldemort.
But he never expected that his family would always stand by his side.
No... isn't this the only right thing to do?
That's what family is all about.
"Alright, I should go now."
Dolly stood up and said, “My visit was not approved by Mrs. Pomfrey in the first place, and she will surely give me a good scolding if I stay any longer.”
"Then I'll be going now, Harry. I need to prepare for my final exams in a few days."
"Anyway, you don't have someone like Hermione around to constantly lecture you, you're really lucky."
Harry's expression changed, and he became nervous. "The final exams are coming up soon, so Quidditch..."
Before Harry could finish speaking, Dolly waved her hand and then disappeared with the help of Dots.
Dolly didn't want to talk to Harry about Quidditch, mainly because she noticed Dumbledore had arrived.
Dolly still uses the Marauder's Map because she is wary of Madam Pomfrey, who went to inform Dumbledore, launching a surprise attack.
Dumbledore didn't try to take the Marauder's Map from her either; he should have recognized the map and knew it should have been in Filch's office.
Dolly got it, probably through some improper means.
But now Dumbledore doesn't even want to appear directly in front of Dolly, because there are many things he can't talk about with her, and he even feels a little guilty.
Especially when he thought about how he was forced to come out of the illusion spell in front of a group of young wizards that day, he felt that it was one of the most embarrassing moments in his life.
Although he was not truly harmed in any way, he knew that his lofty image in the eyes of those young wizards had collapsed.
That's why Dumbledore doesn't want to have any more interaction with Dolly now. If he angers Dolly, she might say bad things about him to Harry, ruining his image in Harry's eyes.
However, after briefly learning about the conversation between Harry and Dolly, Dumbledore breathed a sigh of relief.
At least for now, it seems that Dolly hasn't spoken ill of Harry in front of him.
That's right, I'm aware of the students' psychological state, but that doesn't count as eavesdropping.
In other words, Dumbledore had actually been there for a while and had openly overheard the conversation between the two men from outside the door.
In return, he did not disturb the two siblings, nor did he let Mrs. Pomfrey catch Dolly. Instead, he allowed Dolly to secretly come to the school hospital to see people. This should be considered a mutually beneficial arrangement in a certain sense.
This was the only way he and Dolly could communicate.
Dumbledore opened the door, saw the dejected Harry, and walked up to him with a smile.
Harry immediately perked up. Unlike Dolly, Ron, Neville, and the others, Harry still had a lot of goodwill towards Dumbledore.
Most importantly, he still had many questions to ask Dumbledore.
"Professor, do you still have the Philosopher's Stone?" Harry asked eagerly.
"The Philosopher's Stone? It's been destroyed," Dumbledore replied with a smile.
"Destroyed?" Harry asked, puzzled. "But didn't your Ponisco Flamel need him to prolong his life?"
"Oh, you even know Nico?" Dumbledore asked, sounding quite pleased.
“You really know a lot of things and have done your best. Yes, Nico and I talked to each other, and we both agreed that this is the best way.”
"But then he and his wife would die, wouldn't they?"
"They've stored up some elixirs of immortality, enough for them to get things sorted out. And then, yeah, they'll die."
Seeing the astonished look on Harry's face, Dumbledore smiled.
“I know this may seem incredible to someone as young as you.”
"But for Nico and his chess piece Perenaar, death was actually like finally going to bed after a long day."
"Moreover, for a person with a clear mind, death is just another great adventure."
"You know, the Philosopher's Stone isn't actually that wonderful. With it, you can have whatever wealth or lifespan you desire!"
"These are the two things that humans want most—the problem is that humans tend to choose the things that are least beneficial to them."
Harry lay there, unsure what to say. Dumbledore hummed a cheerful tune, smiling as he gazed at the ceiling.
It's much easier to talk to Harry; I can easily use my long life experience to get Harry on track.
If it were Dolly... she probably would have dozens of ways to refute herself, right?
“Professor,” Harry said, “I’ve been thinking…Professor, even though the Philosopher’s Stone is gone, Voldemort…I mean, Voldemort…”
“Just call him Voldemort, Harry. Always use the correct name for things. Fear of a name will only intensify the fear of the thing itself.”
"Yes, Professor. Voldemort will try to make a comeback in other ways, won't he? I mean, he hasn't disappeared, has he?"
“Yes, Harry, he didn’t disappear. He’s still hiding somewhere, maybe looking for a body he’ll share…”
"He wasn't really alive, so he couldn't have been killed. He was only concerned with getting away and didn't care about Quirrell's life or death; he was ruthless to his enemies and just as cold-blooded to his followers."
“However, Harry, you may have only delayed him, preventing him from regaining his strength immediately, and another person will need to be fully prepared to fight him to the death in the future—but if he is delayed again and again, he may never regain his strength.”
Harry nodded, but then his forehead started to hurt again.
It could be because Voldemort was angry, or it could be because he was tired.
But he still had questions and asked, "Professor, there are still some things I don't quite understand. I wonder if you could tell me... I want to know the truth about these things..."
“The truth,” Dumbledore sighed, “is a beautiful and terrible thing, and must be treated with utmost care.”
“You and your sister are very similar. You both have a strong desire to pursue the truth, even if the process may bring you danger.”
"However, your sister is indeed unexpected, because she not only craves the truth, but also possesses very powerful abilities in order to obtain it."
"This qualifies her for all of this, while you're still a little short."
"So I will try my best to answer your questions, unless I have a good reason to keep quiet. In that case, I hope you can forgive me, I don't want to lie to you."
"That's how it is... Voldemort said he killed my mother because she desperately tried to stop him from killing me. But then again, why did he want to kill me in the first place?"
Dumbledore sighed heavily this time.
"Unfortunately, I can't tell you the first thing you asked me. Not today, not now."
"You'll find out someday... Don't think about it for now, Harry. When you're older... I know you don't want to hear this... You'll find out when you're ready."
Harry knew that saying anything more would be pointless.
"Then why can't Quirrell touch me?"
"Your mother died to save you. If there's anything Voldemort doesn't understand, it's love."
"He didn't realize that the kind of love your mother had for you would leave its mark on you."
"It's not a scar, not a visible mark... To have been loved so deeply by someone, even if that person is dead, will leave us with an eternal talisman."
"It's hidden in your skin, which is why Quirrell can't touch you."
"Quirok was filled with hatred, greed, and ambition. He sold his soul to Voldemort. It would be unbearable for him to encounter someone who bore such a beautiful mark."
After hearing this, Harry thought of his parents' images in the Mirror of Erised.
Then he thought of his sister, who had been by his side and protecting him all this time, and he couldn't help but shed tears.
Dumbledore pretended to be very interested in a little bird outside the window, and Harry used the time to wipe his tears with the sheet.
Once he had calmed down, Harry said, "And that Invisibility Cloak—do you know who gave it to me? It was you, wasn't it?"
