Snape looked at Dolly with surprise and said, "If I remember correctly, we finished our week of study yesterday."
"Professor, I've come here because I need your help with something."
Snape nodded calmly, methodically sealing the potion that was being brewed, before saying to Dolly, "What is it?"
"Something seems off with Quirrell."
Snape frowned and said, "What did you find?"
Dolly tilted her head slightly and continued, "Anyway, please go to Quirrell's office first. I can't give you a definite answer right now."
Snape stared at Dolly for a second, and ultimately chose to believe her.
He then strode out of the office so fast that Dolly had to jog to keep up.
When Snape arrived near Quirrell's office, the leg that had been bitten earlier suddenly stiffened, and he began to walk with a limp.
Seeing this, Dolly was momentarily stunned, thinking that her potion had no effect.
Dolly immediately covered her mouth to prevent herself from laughing out loud, realizing that Snape was faking his injury.
When did Snape become such a great actor?
Oh no, Snape was always a great actor; he was someone who could put on an act in front of Voldemort.
He just hadn't been too lazy to act like this before.
Snape arrived at Quirrell's office, pounded on the door, and said, "Professor Quirrell, open the door!"
The thumping sound made Dolly take a step back and hide in the darkness, worried that Snape and Quirrell might start fighting soon.
A few seconds later, under Snape's threat to use magic if he didn't open the door, the door finally opened.
Quirrell emerged hesitantly, asking timidly, "Professor Snape, what brings you here so late?"
"You said you could help me prepare Ariot's leaves, how's that going?"
A look of confusion flashed across Quirrell's eyes, and he quickly said, "I'm sorry, Professor Snape, give me a little more time, I'm not ready yet."
"A week has passed, Professor Quirrell!"
Snape grabbed Quirrell by the collar, his face expressionless, but his eyes held a hint of ferocity.
Quirrell was almost in tears, saying, "Three days! Give me three days, Professor! I'll pay a fortune for it!"
Snape then released Quirrell, snorted, and limped away.
Quirrell quickly closed the door, as if he were terrified.
Soon, Snape and Dolly reunited.
Before Dolly could speak, Snape had already resumed his normal walking posture and said, "Let me ask you a question, Miss Dursley, what are the leaves of Ariot?"
Dolly answered without hesitation, “Ariot is a magical tree, also known as the hyena tree. Its leaves can induce hysteria and uncontrollable laughter. A syrup produced by the heartbreak bug can be used as an antidote for Ariot leaves.”
“Chopped Ariot leaves can be used as an ingredient to make Laughter Potion. However, if the stirring of the potion is too vigorous after adding Ariot leaves during the potion-making process, the laughter-inducing effect of the leaves will be destroyed.”
"Very good, Ravenclaw gets a point."
Dolly laughed happily, then asked curiously, "Professor, did you really ask Professor Quirrell for Ariot's leaves?"
"No, I just said it offhand."
Snape's gaze turned cold, and Dolly exclaimed admiringly, "It seems you've also noticed that the Quirrell before us is an imposter."
"Of course, I can smell the compound decoction."
"This idiot should never have spilled the compound decoction on his collar."
Dolly looked enlightened.
Polyjuice potions can fool most people, but they are easily exposed when used by Snape, a master of potions.
Quirrell had absolutely no reason to brew and consume Polyjuice Potion, yet you were horrified to find he smelled of it, which could only mean that the Quirrell in front of you was an imposter.
"In this way, many of our suspicions have been resolved."
Dolly breathed a sigh of relief, as some of her doubts were finally resolved.
For example, why Voldemort was no longer with Quirrell, and where did Voldemort go?
It turns out that Quirrell had found another unlucky guy to act as his stand-in from time to time, while Quirrell himself could take the opportunity to do some things.
For Quirrell, who possesses the Imperishable Curse, controlling an unfortunate soul to take Polyjuice Potion is not a difficult task at all.
"What should we do next, Professor? Should we tell the principal about this?"
Dolly asked casually, but her voice unconsciously rose a little.
Dolly can very cheerfully and generously forget minor disagreements.
For example, when it came to Malfoy, Dolly never took the initiative to retaliate against him, did she?
But the one thing Dolly could never forgive was that Quirrell used the Imperius Curse on him.
Snape didn't answer directly. Instead, he stopped and looked at Dolly intently, as if he were thinking about something.
Dolly was momentarily flustered by Snape's gaze and asked in a strange tone, "Professor, did I say something wrong?"
"No, I just want to ask... Miss Dursley, how much do you actually know?"
Snape looked at Dolly scrutinizingly.
If Dolly's only goal was revenge for Quirrell's use of the Imperius Curse on her, then her target would be Quirrell himself, and she wouldn't be aware of Voldemort's existence.
Therefore, Snape should stop Dolly from seeking revenge against Quirrell, since even Snape himself couldn't guarantee his own safety when it involved Voldemort.
Dolly is too young to get involved in this.
If Dolly knew about Voldemort, then the problem would be even bigger.
How did Dolly know all this? Was it precognitive ability, or did someone tell Dolly and push her to do all this from behind the scenes?
Snape's relationship with Dolly is no longer that of a typical professor and student.
Although Dolly never formally became Snape's teacher, or rather, their teacher-student relationship was never publicly announced.
But Snape had clearly already regarded Dolly as a promising heir.
Although Malfoy was more in line with this in terms of status and identity, Snape saw Malfoy's talent as being no different from that of an ordinary person, and he looked down on him at all.
Taking care of Malfoy was more about Lucius's wealth and status, and also about preparing for Snape's future return to Voldemort's side.
"Professor, I cannot answer this question."
Dolly said calmly, "Because I simply don't understand what you're asking."
"Then let me put it another way, Miss Dursley."
Snape didn't intend to dig deeper, because he and Dolly had an unspoken understanding not to expose each other's bottom lines.
Otherwise, if Dolly were to ask him about his relationship with Lily, Snape would be completely unable to handle the situation or salvage the situation.
So Snape said, "You're planning to get revenge on Quirrell and send him to Azkaban."
"Are you still planning to find out why he attacked you, and what kind of conspiracy is behind it?"
Dolly's eyes lit up; she understood what Snape meant.
Snape was absolutely loyal to Dumbledore, so it was impossible for him to reveal any information about Voldemort to Dolly, even though they were master and apprentice, as it involved Dumbledore's grand plan.
If Dolly wants to know Quirrell's secrets, then Snape can only stop her from pursuing them further and prevent her from getting involved in unknown dangers.
Furthermore, if Dolly were to reveal that she actually knew Voldemort's secret, Snape would most likely drag Dolly to see Dumbledore, which is clearly something Dolly cannot accept.
She had no desire to become one of Dumbledore's pawns in his grander scheme for greater, nobler interests.
So, the only path Dolly is to ignore the conspiracy behind it all and instead point the finger at Quirrell and seek revenge.
Alternatively, Dolly could investigate Quirrell's secrets herself, but Snape couldn't get involved, otherwise he would definitely reveal Dolly's secrets to Dumbledore.
Having understood all this, Dolly smiled and said, "Of course, the criminal should be brought to justice. As for what dark thoughts he might have, I don't care."
"Why should I, a normal and ordinary student, try to understand the thoughts of prisoners?"
Snape gave a look of relief and said, "In that case, you can choose to expose the secret of the fake Quirrell when you feel it is appropriate."
"But you must understand how dangerous it is to provoke a dark wizard who is skilled in the Unforgivable Curse."
“You are a Ravenclaw student. You should think about these kinds of questions yourself and bear the consequences yourself.”
Dolly nodded, indicating that she understood.
Snape didn't say anything more and turned to leave.
Now that he has discovered Quirrell's secret, his next step is to find out where the real Quirrell is.
The thought that he had been fooled by the timid Quirrell for so long made Snape feel a fire burning inside him.
Watching Snape's departing figure, Dolly suppressed the urge to take out the Marauder's Map.
Although using the Marauder's Map would allow Snape to handle everything afterward, Dolly knew how important the map would be in the future.
It can be used not only for plot development, but also... cough, to prevent Dolly from being ambushed by certain people while she is doing certain things.
Dolly couldn't possibly tell anyone about this purpose, so it was best to keep the Marauder's Map with her.
Of course, these are only secondary reasons.
The main reason is that Harry and the others are still in Hagrid's cabin.
Although Hagrid promised Dolly not to let Harry and the others go to the Forbidden Forest, who knows what unexpected situation might occur now?
Dolly went straight to the Room of Requirement, where she sat down with Spot to enjoy Muggle snacks while keeping an eye on Hagrid's hut to make sure Harry had a peaceful night.
At this point, only Harry, Ron, Neville, and Malfoy remained in Hagrid's hut.
Malfoy has just gone through a tough choice.
It could be confronting Harry and the others in the hut, or patrolling the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid.
After much deliberation, Malfoy still felt that the Forbidden Forest was more terrifying than Harry's trio.
But now, with three people and six eyes watching him, Malfoy was starting to have second thoughts.
Will he... get beaten up?
