Mondstadt-Liyue Chapter: Chapter 10: Traveling with Lisa

Outside Mondstadt, Miss Lisa is leading a troop of knights toward the Temple of Favonius.

"Miss Lisa, the temple ruins are just ahead. Let me take some people there to check if there are any monsters nearby."

After receiving a nod from Lisa, a knight scout cautiously made his way toward the temple.

When he arrived at the temple entrance, he saw a familiar figure slaughtering a group of fleeing Hilichurls.

The scout thought he was seeing things, so he rubbed his eyes hard and took a closer look.

That's right! That person is the hero who just drove away Stormterror in Mondstadt!

"What the hell? Shouldn't he be recuperating in the church? How did he end up ahead of us?"

The scout rushed back to Lisa and told her the astonishing news.

"Are you kidding me? Lu Sheng was still in the church when we left."

“It’s absolutely true, Miss Lisa. I didn’t see wrong. That warrior really is up ahead. If you don’t believe me, you can go and verify it for yourself.”

"Could she be the lost sister the traveler mentioned?" Lisa murmured. "Since they are twins, it's quite reasonable for them to look alike."

Lisa was genuinely curious about these two travelers from outer space. Her insatiable thirst for knowledge occupied her mind, prompting her to immediately move to the temple entrance.

When Lisa saw that splash of yellow at the doorway, her mouth dropped open in surprise.

She was wrong; this person wasn't her sister, but Lu Sheng.

"Little cutie? What are you doing here?"

Hearing the sound behind him, Lu Sheng turned around, smiled at Lisa, and said, "You've made it! I'm here to help."

"Nonsense! Why are you running around instead of resting in the church? If something happens to you, how am I supposed to study your body? Besides, how can you be so much faster than us?"

Lisa frowned, her cheeks flushed with slight anger.

"It makes sense that I can run fast by using the power of the wind..."

The passive ability of [Runaway~] grants a 100% movement speed bonus when you are standing with your back to an enemy. As we all know, anything that is hostile to you is an enemy. So, you can simply grab a Hilichurl, pull it with a rope, and run ahead to get the full movement speed bonus.

This method still has a lot of room for improvement, mainly because Hilichurls are not durable and die halfway through, forcing you to catch another unlucky one to play the role of the enemy.

If we could replace the Hilichurls with Wind Slimes or Floating Spirits in the future, it would be perfect.

Actually, you can use Paimon too. When you need to increase movement speed, just punch Paimon and turn her into an enemy unit.

Paimon's most useful episode.

However, judging by the current speed, Paimon should have already reached international waters by now.

"Sigh~ Since we're already here, what can I say? Let's go into the temple, but be careful, because this place has become a den of monsters due to the disorder of elemental forces."

Lisa had no choice but to agree to let Lu Sheng join the team and enter the temple together.

For Rikuo, the absence of monsters is bad news.

He charged into the temple first, only to be met by an electric slime and a fire slime.

Unlike slimes in the outside world, these two slimes were unusually large, their imposing size no less than that of two dump trucks driving in front of them.

"Watch out, it's a giant slime! It will split after you kill it, it's very difficult to deal with."

Lisa reminded her.

"Don't worry, I can kill you in one move."

Lu Sheng could understand Lisa's predicament, because her God's Eye granted her lightning elemental power, making it very difficult to deal with lightning-attribute slimes.

When he saw slimes of two different elements appear at the same time, and he himself was still an air element, he already knew what to do next.

A tornado blew out, and the two slimes were instantly pulled together by the powerful attraction. One was lightning and the other was fire, and the crackling sound echoed throughout the entire temple.

Before the tornado had completely dissipated, the two slimes disappeared completely in the process of reacting with each other.

The elemental forces of lightning and fire drifted to Lu Sheng's side and slowly seeped into his skin.

[Ding! Elemental force detected, conversion in progress...]

[The Lightning element branch has been activated, granting a new skill: Palm Lightning – gathers Lightning elemental power in the palm and releases it at high pressure.]

[The Fire Element branch has been activated, granting a new skill: Ignite—the Traveler only needs to snap their fingers, whereas with fire, much more consideration is required.]

With that, you've acquired the initial skills for Lightning and Fire. The remaining three are Grass, Water, and Ice, which you can deal with by going to the Slime.

You can unlock all seven elemental forces without leaving Mondstadt.

Never had such a great start!

"Huh? I think I sensed elemental energy heading your way just now, and then it suddenly disappeared. Little cutie, do you have any clue?"

Lu Sheng snapped out of his daze and found that Lisa was staring at him with a very peculiar look.

"You're absorbing elemental power, right? You can freely use wind elemental power without the Eye of God, and now you're absorbing lightning and fire elemental power right in front of me. I'm getting more and more curious about you. What other secrets are you hiding?"

Lu Sheng was about to make up an excuse, but Lisa wasn't going to listen. She walked deeper into the temple and said calmly, "Forget it, now is not the time to talk about these things. We should focus on our business first. We can discuss your matter when we get back to Mondstadt."

Together, the two deciphered the mechanisms within the temple, annihilated all the gathered monsters, and arrived at the deepest part of the place containing the source of the Wind Demon Dragon's power.

Inside the temple, a spherical object, imbued with rich wind elemental power, lay quietly, emitting a soft glow.

“This is our goal.” Lisa tossed her wind-blown hair and glanced at Lu Sheng. “What are you waiting for? Do you want to waste such pure elemental power? I really want to see how you absorb elemental power.”

Since Lisa had already said so, Lu Sheng didn't stand on ceremony. He stepped forward, reached out and grabbed the energy core, absorbing it all into his body.

This elemental energy was indeed very concentrated, but the wind element skill had already reached level five. The elemental power required for each level up would continue to increase. Therefore, after absorbing it, the converted energy only satisfied one-third of the experience required for leveling up.

That's it? It's over?

Lisa felt as if she had returned to the time when she first entered the Faculty and listened to her teachers' lectures, and great doubt replaced all her thoughts.

“Absorbing small amounts of elemental power, like slimes, is something I, as a mage, can do as well. But that ball of elemental power was so large that it could provide energy for the Stormterror and create storms in Mondstadt. You swallowed it like you were eating sweet flower-stuffed chicken. Didn’t you feel even the slightest bit uncomfortable?”

"Feeling unwell?" Lu Sheng asked, puzzled. "Who feels unwell while eating?"

"What I mean is, can you handle so much elemental power?"

"Is it too much? I still think it's not enough. How about I have a couple of bites, Sister Lisa?"

Shila-

"Ow~"

As soon as he finished speaking, Lu Sheng felt a tingling electric current run through his body and couldn't help but cry out.

"Kids shouldn't have weird ideas, or they'll be punished. Consider this a little lesson... Hmm? What's with that expression? You're not enjoying it, are you?"

Mondstadt-Liyue Chapter: Chapter 11: You think you can just leave after offending the protagonist?

"This little thing doesn't look very big, but it gives me the impression of being a seasoned veteran..."

Lisa scolded the frivolous Lu Sheng a couple of times, and just as she was about to leave the temple, a chaotic element suddenly broke the peaceful space.

A crack appeared out of nowhere in mid-air, from which came a faint, eerie laugh that was cold and damp.

"Hehehe! Looks like we're a step too late."

Lisa's expression changed drastically, and almost instantly she threw a ball of lightning in the direction from which the sound came.

Snapped!

A ripple also shot out from the spatial rift, blocking Lisa's attack.

Immediately afterwards, something neither human nor ghost slowly floated out from the crack.

"Abyss Mage!"

"Hehehe! Foolish Mondstadt people, are you still putting up a futile resistance? It's no use. Your former guardian has now embraced the abyss. It is no longer the guardian of the four winds. In the near future, it will return as the Stormterror, bringing endless destruction and suffering, just as everything that Kanria suffered back then!"

Upon hearing this, Lisa's expression grew even more serious.

"So that's why the Stormterror has been so peaceful all these years, but suddenly started to riot recently. It turns out you were the ones behind this! Heh~ I should have realized it sooner. The most notorious groups on all of Teyvat, besides the Fatui, are the Church of the Abyss."

"Hehehe! It's too late for you to realize this now. Our plan is complete, and anything you do now is in vain. But since you're already here, don't leave! Be buried forever in this abandoned temple!"

The Abyss Mage raised his wand and chanted a spell. Cracks opened around Lisa and Lu Sheng, and wave after wave of Hilichurls appeared in the temple, surrounding the two.

"Kill them!"

A tidal wave of attacks swept in instantly. Rikuo and Lisa fought back to back, the crackling of lightning and the howling of the wind echoing each other, creating a prelude to the battle.

Seeing that his summoned Hilichurls were about to be wiped out, the Abyss Mage had no choice but to back down.

"Hehehe! Keep resisting! The abyss will witness everything!"

After uttering a harsh remark, the Abyss Mage retreated into the rift, preparing to leave.

Suddenly, a figure flashed in front of him, a cold glint appeared before his eyes, and his body was sent flying uncontrollably, crashing heavily into a stone pillar of the temple.

That was close! If I hadn't activated the ice elemental shield at the last second, I probably would have been decapitated!

Having narrowly escaped death, the abyss mage looked at his attacker with lingering fear. It was the blond swordsman who was with Lisa.

Damn, am I seeing things? This person seems strangely familiar.

"You've said all the pretentious stuff, and you think you can just leave? There's no such thing as a free lunch."

"You! Who the hell are you?!"

"The dead are not worthy to know my name."

"Arrogant brat, who knows who will die here today!"

The Abyss Mage soared into the air, conjuring an ice crystal barrier around himself. He brandished his wand, and several ice spikes shot towards Lu Sheng with lightning speed.

call--!

A wall of wind suddenly rose in front of Lu Sheng, blocking the incoming ice spikes. He then slowly raised his left hand and snapped his fingers crisply.

The next second, the abyss mage noticed that the temperature around him was rising rapidly, and the ice crystal shield he had painstakingly condensed was quickly melting and disintegrating under the scorching heat of the inexplicably appearing flames.

"Wind? Fire? Using two elemental forces simultaneously?! How is that possible?"

Before he could finish speaking, he was struck by a bolt of lightning and staggered backward. Before he could recover, a hand imbued with intense lightning energy was already pressed against his forehead.
