Chapter 84 V1 One-on-One Duel, Don't Call Anyone Else

"Tony told me you come from other universes."

He had seen Captain America, but he had never heard of Spider-Man, so he was naturally the most curious.

The other Avengers present also curiously observed Charlotte and the elderly Steve.

Charlotte ignored the stares of the crowd and nodded, saying, "Yes, not only us, but some troublesome fellows have also come here."

Nick Fury frowned. "How did you get here?"

Charlotte remained calm. "It's a secret."

“But if we’re going to cooperate, everyone needs to be honest.” Nick Fury wanted to know the truth.

Charlotte merely glanced at the other party. "This is a collaboration, but I'm also saving you. You need to be honest, but I don't."

Upon hearing this, Nick Fury and the others present exchanged slight glances.

Old Steve's eyes turned strange, and he leaned closer to Charlotte and whispered.

"What are you doing? We need their help."

Charlotte paused for a moment, then said, "Sorry, I couldn't help myself."

"why?"

"The emotion came suddenly."

"Aren't you old friends?"

"I lied to him."

Old Steve: "."

Before Nick Fury could speak, Natasha, sitting at the table, frowned and said, "If I'm not mistaken, you're being chased by those guys."

“You’re the one who needs us to save you,” young Steve said, somewhat indignantly.

Charlotte shrugged. "Anyone who doesn't have any other trouble is the one I'm hunting down."

"He's right."

Tony said, "You don't know just how powerful Spider-Man is, but I do, and I believe he's right."

"And another terrifying spider monster has arrived here; we need Charlotte's help to solve this problem."

“Stark, you’re one of us,” young Steve reminded him.

Tony smiled. "Sorry, but actually I didn't want to be teammates with you guys. Apart from Dr. Banner, whom I admire, you guys aren't very useful to me."

A brief silence fell over the room after these words were spoken.

In the corner, Banner, the honest man who had been called out, glanced at the tense atmosphere and silently lowered his head.

Don't call me, don't call me.

He prayed silently.

Tony's arrogance also angered young Steve and Natasha.

“Stark, you’ve gone too far,” Natasha said coldly.

Young Steve stood up and looked Tony straight in the eye.

“I knew the moment I saw you that you were different from us. You’re an arrogant arms dealer. Without that armor, you’re nothing.”

Tony was also getting worked up. He stood up and stared at Steve in front of him, refusing to back down.

"What are you, soldier, without my father's shield and the super serum?"

Young Steve took a deep breath. "Let's find a place to settle this one-on-one tomorrow. I'll show you who I am."

"Now, Popsicle, don't call anyone else."

Tony scoffed and turned to leave the conference room.

“Stark, we need to make a plan now,” Nick Fury quickly called out to Tony.

“I never have a plan,” Tony said without turning his head.

Young Steve strode past Nick Fury. "Even if there is, it's for tomorrow."

"Steve, come back!"

Seeing the two leave the meeting room one after the other, Nick Fury couldn't help but feel a headache coming on.

Being a leader is so hard!

“Natasha, go and try to persuade them,” he said to Natasha.

Natasha shook her head. "I think they should have a serious talk." She was getting fed up with Tony too.

Seeing this, Charlotte moved closer to the elderly Steve.

Were you guys this individualistic back then?

Old Steve shook his head. "No, we weren't at that level back then, and we wouldn't disobey orders from our superiors."

Charlotte: "."

"Didn't you call anyone?"

"Of course not, I had a fair duel with him."

Charlotte's lips twitched. "Old man, I think you should see a doctor."

"Why do you think I'm sick?"

"Yes, Alzheimer's disease, you can't remember many things."

After Charlotte finished speaking, she looked at Nick Fury.

"This farce should end now, let's get down to business."

He tapped the nanodevice on his wrist, and the figures of the contestants appeared on the projected screen.

“It really is Steve.” Nick Fury said thoughtfully. He had already discovered the appearance of the third captain through the intelligence system.

Charlotte explained, “In my world, he is the leader of Hydra, unlike the Steve you know.”

"what?"

Upon hearing this, everyone was startled and instinctively looked at the elderly Steve.

"Why are you looking at me like that? I'm innocent." Old Steve felt extremely uncomfortable.

He asked Charlotte, "Are you sure?"

“Of course, I killed him with my own hands,” Charlotte said.

Hearing this, old Steve felt a chill run down his spine.

"No wonder you were looking at me strangely. It's wrong of you to bring personal grudges into the competition."

Charlotte rolled her eyes. "That's because I suspect you're talking badly about me behind my back."

"No, absolutely not," old Steve assured, patting his chest.

Charlotte ignored the guy and continued her introduction.

"The second one is Bucky Barnes, a friend of the Hydra captain. They both possess Hydra's power and are incredibly strong."

The third green demon is also one of my pursuers; his name is Norman Osborn. Watch out for his pumpkin bombs.

The fourth is Max the Electro, whose ability can paralyze the entire city's power system.

And Peter Parker, Loki, Stephen Strange, Professor Kurt.

After Charlotte finished her introduction, everyone's expressions turned extremely grim.

These guys are much scarier than I imagined.

"So many people come into our world, what is their purpose?" Nick Fury asked.

Charlotte was a little thirsty, and he asked Banner, who was sitting in the corner, "Is there any water?"

"some."

Honest Banner finally found his purpose and hurriedly went to pour water.

Meanwhile, the elderly Steve subtly explained the contestants' tasks to Nick Fury.

There were no mysterious forces hindering the process, so Charlotte was relieved.

After hearing what old Steve said, everyone was immediately filled with fear and trepidation.

"They're going to kill all the Avengers?"

"They don't even spare their own people, it's terrifying."

"And what are the Chitauri soldiers? Will they definitely invade Earth?"

"The legendary Odin, the father of the gods and Thor's father, is also their target. This is insane."

"Oh no, Stark and Steve are out. What if..."

With Natasha's exclamation, Nick Fury finally realized what was happening.

"They're likely to be ambushed. Call them back quickly."

“It’s too late, they’ve already left,” Coulson said as he ran over.

Nick Fury looked at Charlotte with a grim face. "Why didn't you say so sooner? I could have stopped them."

Charlotte shrugged. "I don't have the habit of getting involved in other people's arguments."

Tony and Steve left S.H.I.E.L.D. to check if anyone was watching them.
