"Could you please help clean up the trash and weeds in this little pond?"

Yu Jin looked at the clear spring in front of him. It wasn't large, but it certainly wasn't small either. And for some reason, the vegetation on the bank was extremely lush.

“Don’t worry, I still have some savings,” Old Finch said, seeing Ember’s stunned expression.

"Leave it to me!" Although Old Finch thought Ember was greedy for money, Ember was actually just wondering if there was something wrong with the old man. Why would he clean up such a big pond for no reason? Did he have too much money?

However, since Yu Jin has accepted the commission, he must complete it no matter what. His momentary daze was simply due to being in a daze.

Old Finch was startled by the embers; why were young people these days so easily startled?

However, seeing how quickly Yu Jin got back to work, he didn't say anything more.

Ember's hands moved incredibly fast; this was his first time weeding. He'd actually won first place many times since joining the Adventurers' Guild.

First time finding a cat, first time picking flowers, first time running errands... and so on. Indeed, joining the Adventurers' Guild was the right choice!

His mind wandered far away, but Yu Jin's hands were not idle; he pulled up large swaths of soil along with the grass roots.

The sun was setting in the west, and the soil was flying everywhere.

Yu Jin stood up, pretended to wipe the sweat from his forehead, and looked at his masterpiece of the day.

Ugh, so ugly!

This was the first thing Yu Jin noticed. The lush greenery on the banks of the clear spring had disappeared, replaced by irregular clumps of dark brown mud.

It looks like it was chewed by a dog.

As an undead with a slight obsessive-compulsive disorder, Ember felt he needed to give the shore a "makeover".

Looking at the stars in the sky, Ember started working again, unlocking the achievement of working overtime for the first time!

Yu Jin picked up a pitchfork and began leveling the land himself.

"Hmm hmm hmm~" The town of Qingquan fell asleep early in the night, and only Yu Jin was left by the pool, humming inexplicably.

Ember seemed tireless as he moved around the pool, and wherever he went, the song followed.

"Ha! It definitely looks better when it's flatter." Yu Jin leaned against the pitchfork stuck in the ground, looking at his masterpiece with a slight sigh.

Just as Yu Jin was about to find a place to lie down for the night, he suddenly saw a faint blue light flash in the center of the pool.

"Wow! Is this the legendary adventure?" Yu Jin immediately threw the pitchfork aside and stared intently at the center of the spring.

Actually, the spring spirit didn't want to appear directly like this; she preferred to talk to children in her dreams.

Unfortunately, Ember doesn't sleep at all, so this is the only way she can meet him.

However, this was the first time she had met an adult with a childlike heart like Yu Jin, and out of curiosity, she didn't care about how they met.

"Holy crap, the water slime has come to life!" Ember exclaimed in surprise as he saw a creature that was entirely blue and looked like an elf fly out of the spring.

"What do you mean by a slime becoming a spirit? I'm a pure water spirit!" Ember's first words made the spring water spirit lose its composure.

"Oh, a pure water spirit? Never heard of it. What does it want with me? Is it to give me some kind of treasure?" Yu Jin's mind was now filled with the adventures told by the bards.

The water sprite's lips twitched slightly—if she even had lips. But Ember was right; in a sense, her appearance this time was to bestow a blessing upon Ember.

She loved the heart of a child, for it signified vitality and flow. As a pure water sprite confined to a small spring, she cherished this vitality and flow.

The person in front of me, though saying he wanted some treasure, was actually more interested in the process of obtaining it.

"So, what do you desire, you who are as pure as a child?" The spring spirit hadn't seen such an interesting person in a long time, so she allowed Ember to make his request.

"Um, let me think." Yu Jin didn't expect that he would have to choose for himself, so he became troubled.

However, he quickly made up his mind. Looking at the water sprite emerging from the water, Ember replied, "I want to have the same swimming skills as you!"

It's common knowledge that the Undead are easily dissolved in water. But today, Ember is going to break this ironclad rule; he's going to become the first Undead to swim in water!

"Haha, with the heart of a child, I bless you, pure and innocent one!"

"Your movements will be as agile as a swimming fish, and your strength will come from the rushing water, which will take you to the depths of the water!"

The spring spirit was amused by Ember's words, and a faint blue light emanated from her and flowed into Ember.

A small, powerful force flowed within him, refreshing and full of vitality, like a clear spring that had been rushing for a long time.

After sending the blessing, the aura emanating from the spring spirit visibly weakened.

Every blessing she received was a drain on her, but she didn't care.

"Why?" Ember asked the weakened spring spirit. It is not worthy of praise to share one's strength when one is strong; but to share one's strength with the weaker when one is so weak that one cannot even guarantee one's own survival is enough to be called noble.

"The spirit of pure water is born from flowing water and should flow endlessly. I was trapped in this clear spring due to an early misfortune and should have died here."

"But I saw it, I saw the children's troubles, I heard their complaints. My never-ending heartbeat gave me strength, and their complaints shaped my own image. I realized that the flow of life is even greater than the rushing of a hundred rivers!"

"I know that the children will eventually leave their homeland, so let my blessings become your wings."

"At that time, the wish of pure water will follow you and leap across the earth!"

The spring spirit recalled that no one had ever asked her why she did it, but that didn't mean she didn't like to confide in others.

Those who listen to secrets often have even more secrets buried deep within their own hearts.

Is that so? What an interesting creature.

Ember smiled and said to the spring spirit:

"Let me bestow upon you this small blessing!"

Chapter 29 Blessing

2023-08-28

"Really? I'm starting to look forward to it." The spring spirit found it quite amusing. She was always the one giving blessings to others; no one had ever blessed her before.

Ember looked at the blue-glowing water sprite, pondered for a moment, and then said:

"I do not know the eternity of gold, nor does the warmth of the First Flame match the flow of water. I think that even the hundred rivers will one day cease flowing. So all I can give you is hope."

"I hope that pure water will be drawn into your heart, and that love and curiosity will reshape your form. Then, embrace boldly, for you will not drown the one you hold; pure water will only bring a deeper love."

"I hope that sorrow will no longer linger, and that joy and happiness will pulsate through your life. Then, love boldly, for your loved ones will flow into pure water, and the length of life will no longer matter."

Finally, I hope that the flow of time will not take anything away from you. Then, go forth boldly, for infinite life is infinite hope, and your footprints will be found in every river!

With each word Yu Jin spoke, a spark erupted from his armor, falling into the water sprite's body and causing a dramatic transformation in her form.

A faint blue light emanated from the clear spring, enveloping the pure water spirit. Under an inexplicable force, love and curiosity were no longer just stirrings in her heart, but had become tangible within her body.

"Pop!" The bubble burst, and a blue-haired girl appeared before Yu Jin.

[Is this what she envisioned herself as a human? She's quite pretty.] Ember had now snapped out of his serious demeanor and was examining the newborn water sprite.

Pure water should not be associated with sadness; its melody is one of flow and vitality.

The spring spirits are now full of vibrant life and spirit, which is truly gratifying.

Yu Jin clapped his hands in satisfaction. It was the first time he had used his authority in another world, and he was surprised to find it quite pleasant.

However, I am still weak. The blessing I gave the water spirit just now was not even a battle blessing, and it almost set it ablaze. If I had actually given it a battle blessing, I'm afraid I really wouldn't have been able to handle it.

The spring spirit looked at her newborn body and felt the clarity of her soul. She understood that she had been elevated in both body and soul.

"Who are you?" the spring spirit asked respectfully, looking at Ember. She wasn't stupid; the being before her was extremely powerful, easily erasing the flaws of the pure water spirit race.

She had never seen such power in the previous water god.

"Just a passing adventurer!" Ember picked up the pitchfork he had thrown on the ground, leaving the spring sprite with only a mysterious silhouette.

……

"Wait a minute, I haven't been paid yet!" Yu Jin suddenly realized as he walked along the path.

I just visited the Mysterious Place; Mora hasn't even tied the knot yet.

But then he glanced at the sky and thought, "Never mind, I'll go ask for it again when I have time. Surely Old Finch isn't going to run away, is he?"

With that in mind, Ember stopped rushing. Since he didn't need to sleep anyway, taking his time and enjoying the nighttime scenery of Mondstadt was a good idea.

Of course, it would be even better if we could uncover some grand conspiracy.

Unfortunately, Yu Jin was disappointed. He didn't uncover any conspiracy. He only saw a white-haired woman floating in the air in front of him, as if she had been waiting for him for a long time.

"You dare hit me!" Yu Jin turned and ran. Of course, any smuggler would run away at the sight of the police!

Seeing Yu Jin's seemingly joking running posture, the Constituent's eye twitched slightly. Although she had known for some time that Yu Jin was unreliable, actually facing him in person left her speechless.

"Buzz—" A black and red spatial rift suddenly appeared in front of Yu Jin, and the Maintainer stepped out from it and blocked Yu Jin's way.

Then she saw Yu Jin's armor being rapidly replaced, and a full suit of heavy armor instantly covered his body.

That wasn't all. Yu Jin pulled out a bottle of perfume from somewhere and threw it into the helmet without even opening it.

After the iron pot of incense entered his body, Ember's entire body, along with the Havel heavy armor on the outside, began to gleam with a metallic sheen, making him appear as if he were cast from steel.

"Big Sister Manager, be gentle," Ember said, lying on the ground and putting the Havel shield on his back.

Ember once said that when you are weak, you need to compromise, and he is now putting his words into practice.

There's no other way; we can't beat them in a fight, so this is the only option.

Of course, if Ember were at his peak, he would be no match for him, but unfortunately he isn't.

A "#" appeared on the maintainer's forehead; she finally understood how that descendant of Kanria felt.

How could there be such an unreliable person as Yu Jin!

"Get up, I won't hit you," the maintainer said, trying to keep his voice steady.

"You should have said so earlier! Manager, how about I register your household?" Yu Jin jumped up in a flash, a little embarrassed.

It would be best to avoid fighting if possible. Although I won't die, the feeling of being beaten up is not good.

He was also hoping that the manager wouldn't pursue the matter of him secretly coming to this world.

"There is no such thing!" The Sustainer's lips twitched again. A Descendant is a Descendant, and not only she, but even the laws of nature cannot change that.

"Alright then, what do you want?" After realizing that the Sustainer wasn't there to cause him trouble, Ember became nonchalant again.

"One of the four shadows will arrive here soon. Don't reveal any information about her to anyone else." The Sustainer just wanted to complete the mission as quickly as possible, otherwise she was afraid she wouldn't be able to hold on.

“In exchange, I will allow you to break some taboos, including the elimination of wear and tear just now.” Seeing that Ember was about to say something again, the Maintainer beat him to it.
