"It wasn't a hallucination, there was something just now, what was it...?"
"Director Muirsay, is there anything I can help you with? Do you need to go out?" The guard on duty at the door asked as Muirsay ran up to the door.
"Has anyone been here just now?"
The guard recalled, "There was someone who came by, but he left after taking one look."
"Where did he go?"
The guards exchanged glances, but all of them shrugged, indicating that they hadn't seen it.
"I don't know, who would notice this? Is Director Muirsey looking for her?"
Although Muirseth longed to go out and find that feeling and that person, the fact that Muirseth's race was called elves prevented her from making any progress.
Muirsey took one last look at the bustling street outside the door, and left in disappointment once again.
Muirses returned to the biological park, and the junior employee who had been there earlier rushed to greet him.
"Um, Director Muirsay, have you finished your work?"
Muirsey nodded.
The junior clerk continued excitedly, "The rare plant that Director Muirsey brought back before, during its previous germination period, the seeds we collected, they... they germinated."
Muirsey then came to her senses and quickly said, "Quick, take me there."
Muirsey arrived at the deepest part of the ecological park, and stood beside a group of staff members.
They stood watching as each seed broke free from the earth's constraints and sprouted tender shoots.
Muirsey pushed through the crowd, stood in front of the sprout, and knelt down to gently touch the tender leaves that had just left the earth and the fine mist on them.
The mist dampened Muirsey's fingers as she felt the whispers of the newly sprouting buds and the tranquility of the place.
“That’s wonderful, your people haven’t perished yet, that’s wonderful,” Muirsay murmured to himself.
As the crowd gradually dispersed, Muirsey remained squatting in place. After a long while, Muirsey finally stood up, her face no longer showing the disappointment she had shown before.
Muirsey gently rubbed the water droplets off her hands, her eyes filled with a determination and hope that she herself seemed to have long forgotten.
As Muirsey walked out of the ecological park, she saw someone ahead of her and greeted them with a smile: "Hi, Horhaya."
The newcomer appeared to be a Liberian, but the long, thin snake swaying behind him suggested otherwise.
"Isn't this Muels? Why are you so happy?"
Muirsey smiled, her eyes sparkling with a brilliance more vibrant than ever before: "Isn't it something to be happy about? A new plant has sprouted."
"What does that have to do with me? Aren't you the only one who can understand those plants? Besides..."
Holhaia suddenly moved closer to Muerseth, her snake-like eyes fixed on Muerseth's gaze.
"There seems to be something in your eyes. What have you found again? It's making me a little uncomfortable."
In response to Horhys's questions and seemingly aggressive language, Muirsay simply continued.
"It was a lonely, isolated tree. I only found one of those trees. After I transplanted it back, it finally sprouted seeds."
Muirsey looked into Horhaya's eyes and continued excitedly.
"Just when everyone was filled with disappointment about whether the seed would sprout, it did. Isn't that something to be happy about?"
Holhaya wanted to say that this wasn't a question she was asking Muelseth, but looking into Muelseth's eyes, which seemed somewhat different from before, Holhaya fell silent.
"Tch, boring. Is just sprouting enough? Your hopes will drown that seedling." With that, Horhaia flicked her long, thin tail and walked away from Muirsay.
Holhaia seemed not to have understood what Muirsays was saying, and left after making a sarcastic remark.
Muirsey smiled as she watched Holhaya leave, and in the passageway, Muirsey opened the umbrella she had been holding.
She understood that Horhaya had comprehended her words.
Holhaya was advising her not to continue placing her hopes on unfounded seedlings; Muirsey had already been disappointed enough.
But this time, Muirsay looked up through the transparent umbrella at the gray sky outside the glass above the passageway.
"Ah, it's a cloudy day today. What a disappointment. Such a good mood should be accompanied by sunny weather."
Muirsey spoke with apparent disappointment, but the smile on her lips never faded as she left the passageway, holding her umbrella.
Around the lonely, rootless tree, covered in snow called disappointment, the sky a persistent gray symbol of despair, but beneath that snow, it seems that new seeds are sprouting this time.
Chapter 8: The Wounded Wolf
“Hu…Hu…”
"It hurts so much, I'm so hungry..."
In the quiet alley, a Rupert, wearing a red trench coat, walked with heavy steps.
With one hand supporting himself against the wall and the other clutching his stomach, blood continued to flow from his wounds, staining his already bright red coat a dark red.
Her eyes were glazed over, and the waves of pain in her head made it impossible for her to concentrate.
I'm so hungry, but I can't go eat anything or they'll catch up with me.
She was so tired, so cold, and felt so heavy. She needed to rest.
My head feels increasingly dizzy.
Finally, Rupert's gaze fell upon a trash can at the end of the alley. The stench emanating from it made her nose irritate, but perhaps it was a safe place for her to rest.
The girl, Rupert, walked over, opened the trash can, and climbed inside. It was so warm here; she wanted to take a nap.
"Woo~~"
Xi Yue got out of bed, her tail swishing behind her, almost turning the blankets into a pretzel.
"Tsk..."
Xi Yue laboriously pulled her tail out of the twisted blanket, glanced back, and thankfully, the pillow hadn't been poked by the horn on her head.
Compared to before, Xiyue has now completely transformed into a pure water spirit, but the state of her changing body is becoming increasingly difficult to control.
Every time she sleeps, her carefully crafted disguise disappears, revealing her tail and horns once more.
"This isn't right. Logically speaking, after the transformation is complete, shouldn't this kind of racial skill be more proficient? Why is it regressing?"
Xi Yue silently tidied the bed, sat on the bed, and her tail gradually turned into water and disappeared into her body. The horn on her head also turned into water clumps and became two blue feathers.
Sitting on the bed, Xiyue opened the control panel.

She has been a free messenger for almost half a year now. Although she has been delivering messages all this time, it doesn't mean she has forgotten her identity as a doctor.
She chose to turn her van into a mobile clinic. She wasn't in a hurry to pay the consultation fees, since she still had plenty of money left after buying the van last time.
Therefore, Yuuki chose to focus her attention on infected individuals and mercenaries who were not accepted by regular hospitals.
At first, Yuuzuki wasn't trusted, and her car was almost smashed, but thankfully, the quality of Raytheon Industries' cars was top-notch.
Gradually, with her painstaking efforts and the success of each mercenary and infected person who was treated and then walked or was carried off his vehicle, she became a source of strength for him.
Gradually, the title "Trusted Doctor" began to circulate in their conversations and among them, and even spread to other regions through their activities.
A Liberian medical messenger with blue feathers, driving a Raytheon Industries vehicle, is willing to treat infected individuals and mercenaries for extremely low fees.
It's worth mentioning that although I practiced medicine for half a year, I didn't get many medical points. I guess there was some compensation involved in the 20,000 credit points I received back then.
Another matter made Xiyue uneasy. It wasn't exactly a bad thing, but it was rather absurd.
