“I can assure you, Jerry Green is neither in his dormitory nor in the Slytherin common room. Only Dumbledore probably knows where he is!”
“But Professor Snape, I’m worried…”
Snape interrupted Hermione again, his tone seemingly tinged with anger, "That brat will be fine! Instead of worrying about him, take care of yourself first. Look at you, you look like a weak ghost!"
"Dumbledore will take care of Jerry Green's matter. You go back to the hall right now!"
Faced with Snape's reprimand, Hermione knew she couldn't escape now and could only return to the Great Hall with a sense of helplessness and worry.
"Sir, aren't you going to deduct Granger's house points for this? She threatened a Slytherin student with her wand, so deducting 50 points isn't unreasonable!" Malfoy said contemptuously, pointing at Hermione who had returned to the hall.
Snape glared at Malfoy and his two companions, then roared, "What are you all still standing here for? Get back to the main hall!"
Chapter 153 Trelawney's Prophecy
"Silence! Please maintain order!"
As students from various colleges poured in, the once quiet hall gradually became noisy and chaotic, and occasionally, suppressed groans of pain could be heard from among the students.
Faced with the chaotic situation before her, Professor McGonagall felt somewhat helpless. She had never anticipated that the entire student body would be simultaneously engulfed in such a dangerous magical upheaval.
What horrified her even more was that, tonight, in addition to the students, all the Hogwarts professors, including herself, also felt the instability of the magic within them before arriving at the scene.
Fortunately, the professors' age and experience gave them far greater control over magic than these young wizards, thus preventing more serious consequences.
"Minerva, how are the students doing?"
Seeing Dumbledore hurrying in from the front door, everyone in the hall breathed a sigh of relief, their tense nerves relaxing slightly.
"Albus, thank goodness you're finally back!" Professor McGonagall breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Dumbledore. "The students with unstable magic and the injured have all been taken to the school infirmary for emergency treatment. But Harry, his two companions, and Ginny Weasley are still missing!"
“Jerry Green is missing too. I’ve searched the student dormitories and the Slytherin common room, but I haven’t found him!” Snape added grimly from the side.
Upon hearing this, Dumbledore frowned slightly, pondered for a moment, and then looked at the heads of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff houses, asking, "Are there any other students missing?"
Both Flitwick and Professor Sprout shook their heads, indicating that their house was full of well-behaved children, unlike the wild lions of Gryffindor.
Apart from the students injured in the magical upheaval, no students from either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff House are missing.
Seeing this, Snape couldn't help but say sarcastically, "I think there's something else you, as the headmaster of Hogwarts, should know."
Our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, the renowned and legendary author Gilderoy Lockhart, has also disappeared, though I believe his situation is slightly different from those of the missing students.
Snape's eyes revealed deep dissatisfaction and disgust for Lockhart.
"When we went to find Lockhart, we discovered that the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's office had been cleaned spotless, and Lockhart and his belongings were gone! That idiot, that coward, actually ran away at this time!"
Dumbledore felt a heavy weight in his heart. He knew Lockhart was unreliable, but he didn't expect him to be so useless, running away at the crucial moment!
Is there anywhere safer than Hogwarts?
However, Dumbledore didn't take Lockhart's matter to heart. After all, in Hogwarts, how could you expect to escape after offending the headmaster?
"You don't need to worry about Lockhart's matter. I'll go find the missing children first. You all stay in the hall and take care of the students."
After glancing at Fawkes hovering overhead, Dumbledore breathed a slight sigh of relief. He gave a few instructions to the others and then disappeared from their sight with Fawkes.
……
"Navie, wake up!"
At the entrance to the secret chamber's passageway, Ron sat limply on the floor, his face pale as if he had just recovered from a serious illness, while Neville lay unconscious beside him, his face swollen.
Due to the violent magical surge he had just experienced, Ron's voice sounded extremely weak.
He was filled with worry for Ginny's safety and wanted to know if Harry had found her in the Chamber of Secrets. However, he couldn't leave the unconscious Neville unattended, and his inner struggle and anxiety left him at a loss.
With a "whoosh," a flash of light appeared in front of Ron and Dumbledore, illuminating their pale faces.
"Professor Dumbledore!" Ron was both surprised and delighted, and his voice involuntarily rose several decibels.
"Mr. Weasley, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, but Neville landed face-first when he slid down the tube and passed out!"
Ron continued, "Professor, and Harry too, he went to the Chamber of Secrets to rescue Ginny by himself!"
Mentioning Ginny ignited Ron's emotions, making him instantly agitated. His already pale face became even whiter and more haggard.
“Calm down, Mr. Weasley. What happened? How did you find your way here?” Dumbledore gently pressed Ron’s shoulder, comforting him in a calm and warm tone.
Ron took a deep breath and said, "Professor, we found a letter in our dormitory tonight. It said that Ginny had been kidnapped by the heir of Slytherin. We followed the instructions in the letter and found the entrance to the secret room in the second-floor bathroom before we got here. Neville was injured and passed out when he slid down the pipes above, and I cut my leg on a rock."
As he spoke, Ron lifted the hem of his left trouser leg, revealing the gruesome wound. Although the bleeding had stopped, the entire injured area still looked like a bloody mess.
"Professor Dumbledore, Harry has gone to rescue Ginny alone. You must go and help him!"
"Alright, Ron, next time something like this happens, be sure to notify the professors first. Don't be as reckless as you were today!"
Dumbledore gently rubbed his temples, feeling his blood pressure rise slightly.
While courage is indeed a hallmark of Gryffindor, it is not blind recklessness, but rather a reverence for challenges and a determination to face difficulties. True courage lies in confronting challenges with fear, not in acting rashly out of ignorance.

“I’m sorry, Professor Dumbledore,” Ron said, bowing his head in a low voice.
Dumbledore sighed softly, and after Fawkes took Ron and the unconscious Neville to the school infirmary, he walked alone along the passage, past the basilisk's remains, and arrived at the door of the secret chamber deep underground.
Before even stepping into the room, Dumbledore, standing at the door, felt a strong, pungent smell of blood emanating from within, as if an invisible hand were gripping his heart tightly, causing his heartstrings to involuntarily tighten.
Dumbledore strode into the Chamber of Secrets, and the sight before him brought him a slight sense of relief. The basilisk's massive body lay motionless in a pool of black blood.
Dumbledore quickly scanned the room and, apart from Harry and Ginny lying unconscious on the floor, did not find Jerry.
Could it be that what happened here has nothing to do with Jerry? He didn't come to the secret room tonight?
Dumbledore bent down and picked up the charred and completely destroyed Voldemort's journal from the ground. He stared intently at this former Horcrux, and after sensing a trace of violent magical energy remaining on it, he frowned and immediately dismissed his earlier guess.
This powerful magic, capable of destroying Horcruxes, is far beyond the capabilities of Harry and Ginny.
"Wake up, Harry!" Dumbledore came to Harry and Ginny's side, trying to wake them up and ask what had happened in the Chamber of Secrets that night.
However, Harry and Ginny remained unconscious. Dumbledore quickly performed a brief examination on them and found their conditions to be serious, especially Ginny's.
Dumbledore had no time to hesitate. Upon seeing the returning phoenix Fawkes, he immediately ordered it to take the unconscious Harry and Ginny to the infirmary for treatment.
After seeing Harry off, Dumbledore carefully checked the Chamber of Secrets one last time to make sure nothing was missed, then hurriedly left the Chamber and returned to Hogwarts.
……
Inside the principal's office, the sky outside was already beginning to lighten. After the students were settled, all the school's professors, except Lockhart, gathered there.
"Albus, tonight's magical upheaval affected far more than just the students; even we professors were not spared. What exactly happened?" Professor McGonagall asked, still shaken by the events of the night.
"I'm sorry, Minerva, I don't know the reason either. In fact, everyone, not just you, even I, who wasn't at Hogwarts tonight, experienced a sudden surge of magic!"
In the headmaster's office, everyone who heard Dumbledore's words was shocked. Some professors even felt a sense of unease that was hard to describe.
What caused this magical upheaval? Even the mighty Dumbledore was affected.
"Gentlemen," Dumbledore said with a smile, his tone joking, looking at the silent Headmaster's office, "at least the magical disturbance is gone now! As for the reason, aren't there enough mysteries in the wizarding world already?"
"What happened tonight will be investigated thoroughly. Our most important task right now is to protect the students of Hogwarts, so we'll have to rely on everyone for the time being!"
The professors in the principal's office relaxed a little after hearing Dumbledore's words.
After all, it's not just me who's affected; everyone has a magical riot, which means no one has actually rioted.
Anyway, if the sky falls, there are tall people to hold it up.
……
"Professor Trelawney, please wait a moment, I have something to discuss with you!"
After the meeting, Dumbledore deliberately kept Professor Trelawney behind. During the meeting, he had noticed something was off about her. She had been preoccupied, muttering to herself with her head down, her eyes filled with fear and confusion.
“Professor Trelawney, is there something you want to say to me?” Dumbledore asked, noticing Trelawney’s downcast expression.
"Yes, yes, I should have told you!"
Trelawney abruptly looked up and muttered to herself. She paced back and forth in the principal's office, her eyes flashing with unease and anxiety, as if searching for some kind of relief or to clear her mind.
“You know, Albus, as a divination professor, I rarely dream. But tonight I had a terrible nightmare.”
Trelawney continued, panting heavily, "The smoke of war filled the air, the shadow of death loomed, and the blood of wizards stained every corner of the world."
The future? No, there is no future!
The wizards have been condemned to death by fate; only death awaits them.
This is a dark and desperate era, where magic has been completely erased in the future, leaving wizards only endless death and suffering.
Dumbledore stared blankly at Trelawney, who was almost suffocating, his gaze unusually solemn.
