Hogwarts: I will never become the Dark Lord

"Could I borrow him for a while? I need his help with something."

Rozier was somewhat surprised, unable to understand what Jerry could possibly want with that traitor, but one thing she was certain of was that falling into Jerry's hands would definitely not be a good thing.

So Rozier nodded and agreed.

"Thank you so much! Please take him to the alchemy room!"

"Just as I thought!" Rozier thought to himself, "I understand, Mr. Green. I'll have someone send him there."

The next day, before the first rays of sunlight had completely dispelled the silence of the night, there was already activity in the manor.

Rozier informed Jerry last night that Vincent Martin had made arrangements for him, so Jerry couldn't wait to arrive at the alchemy room early this morning.

"Mr. Martin, you don't look too well after not seeing you for more than ten days!"

As soon as Jerry entered the alchemy room, he saw Vincent Martin tightly bound by rough ropes and hanging from the central stone pillar.

The former prestige and swagger have long since vanished, replaced by tattered clothes and numerous wounds, some new, some old, clearly indicating that he has endured a long period of torment.

Vincent Martin's once-plump body had become emaciated, and his skin had lost its luster, turning a dull gray. His eyes were deeply sunken, filled with pain and despair.

Jerry discovered that if only one organ was modified, the test subject wouldn't live long at all, because magical organs and ordinary organs were simply incompatible. The only solution was to completely modify the test subject from top to bottom, inside and out.

Putting aside the difficulty of the modification, even if it were successful, Jerry probably wouldn't have many people willing to accept it!

Not to mention that the technology is not yet up to par, so the plan has to be put on hold for the time being.

The next morning, Jerry, who was about to head out to Paris to buy a gift for Hermione, was stopped by Rozier.

"Mr. Green, someone is looking for you!"

"Looking for me? Who's looking for me?"

I don't have many friends in France! Could it be Grindelwald again? Rozier's cold expression doesn't seem to suggest it!

"Dumbledore is looking for you!"

Jerry nodded, understanding dawning on him. So that's how it is. No wonder Rozier looked so grim; it turns out his rival had arrived!

When Jerry stepped into the first-floor reception room, there were already quite a few people inside.

In the hall, on one side sat serious-looking members of the Malay Party, their eyes revealing tension and vigilance; on the other side, Dumbledore wore a smile, seemingly using his composure and calmness to soothe the atmosphere.

The tense atmosphere eased somewhat after Jerry appeared.

“You all go out first! I want to speak with Headmaster Dumbledore alone.” Jerry sensed the underlying tension and conflict in the hall and decided to take action.

Jerry’s words were clear and decisive, leaving the UMNO party no chance to refute them.

The members of the UMNO party exchanged glances, then nodded silently and left the hall one by one.

"Jerry, you've had a very rewarding summer in France!" Dumbledore exclaimed in surprise as he watched the members of the Masonic Party, who, even without Grindelwald's presence, obeyed Jerry's orders and left the hall.

It seems Gellert was right; Jerry is indeed more capable than he imagined! To have achieved this level in such a short time.

"Professor Dumbledore, what brings you here?"

"Jerry, summer vacation is almost over, and you need to prepare for the next school year!" Dumbledore said, taking a letter out of his pocket and handing it to him.

"Your letter from your second year at Hogwarts—I didn't have it delivered by owl, I brought it directly to you. Oh, and this too, the Order of Merlin, Third Class—I brought it with you as well."

After Jerry received the envelope and a small gift box from Dumbledore, he opened the gift box and found a golden medal inside.

“Jerry, it’s not easy for you to earn the Order of Merlin at your age.”

Jerry smiled, put the medal aside, and opened the letter from Hogwarts. It contained a list of items needed for the second year, the Defense Against the Dark Arts textbook, and Lockhart's complete set of books.

"Professor Dumbledore, why did you choose this... good-for-nothing to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?"

Jerry held the envelope and asked, puzzled.

Although it's a consumable, this consumable is clearly a substandard piece of junk!

"Jerry, Lockhart isn't the best choice, but he's not as bad as you say!"

Hearing what the other person said, Jerry became even more puzzled. How could Dumbledore, with his "cunning," not see through Lockhart's disguise?

So Jerry tentatively asked, "Professor, is it true that no one else has applied for this position this year besides Lockhart?"

Dumbledore didn't answer, but just winked at Jerry.

Jerry: "..."

Chapter 82 This little money is hardly enough to do anything for you!

"I'll go pack my luggage right away, please wait for me a moment."

"No, child, there's no need to rush!" Dumbledore waved his hand to stop Jerry as he got up to pack his luggage. "I'll come pick you up tomorrow. I have to go to the French Ministry of Magic later!"

Jerry's heart sank. Could it be because of Blackwing? Jerry wondered to himself.

Grindelwald once mentioned to Jerry that Dumbledore knew some things about France, but he, like his old flame Dumbledore, acted as a riddle-maker, enjoying being mysterious and not telling him exactly what Dumbledore knew!

"Is it because of what happened at the French Ministry of Magic recently?" Jerry finally decided to cautiously probe.

"Yes! I heard that the French Ministry of Magic was attacked by dark wizards. I was also going to France anyway, so Fudge asked me to come and check it out for him!"

Jerry stared intently, trying to catch a hint of something unusual in Dumbledore's tone and expression.

But the old man's expression remained unchanged, as if he truly knew nothing about it.

"Okay..." Jerry muttered, feeling helpless. Fighting these two centuries-old shrewd individuals was simply too difficult!

"What's wrong, Jerry? Is there anything else?"

"No, I just didn't expect the British wizards to be so concerned about things in France," Jerry replied casually, cleverly covering up the past.

"Actually, Britain has always been quite interested in France, um... especially in this kind of situation!"

On an August night, heat and tranquility intertwine, countless stars adorn the sky, the moon shines brightly, and a gentle breeze carries the faint fragrance of flowers and the scent of grass.

After Dumbledore left, Jerry went to the magical streets of France, bought Hermione a gift, and then returned to his room to write a letter to Fleur to say goodbye.

Sure enough, Jerry received three replies that afternoon, asking when he would come to France again, and even saying they would come to England to visit him during their holidays!
