Chapter 46 The Missing Dementors

"Children, come in! One of my colleagues will be there to greet you. Don't worry, he just wants to know what happened!"

After hearing Kingsley Shackles' words, Jerry and Hermione entered the carriage.

"Good evening, gentlemen. I am Arthur Weasley from the Ministry of Magic. Please have a seat."

"Dirty, dirty, dirty~"

Night had completely fallen, and the train roared into London's King's Cross station. The station lights reflected on the train windows, creating a dazzling display of light and shadow.

Jerry stood at the door of the carriage and looked out the window. He saw that the platform was already full of parents, who were anxiously or expectantly waiting for their children to return.

"Jerry, do me a favor!"

Just as the two finished packing their belongings, the train's announcement came that they could disembark. Jerry, dragging their luggage with his right hand and tightly protecting Hermione with his left, followed the flow of people off the train.

The platform was crowded with people, and parents were anxiously waiting for their children to arrive.

Jerry and Hermione walked to the platform, put down their luggage, and Hermione looked around, searching for her parents.

“Jerry, look over there! My mom and dad are over there!” Hermione said, pointing to the figures of a middle-aged couple in the distance.

Jerry looked in the direction Hermione was pointing and saw Hermione's parents standing in the distance waving at them. He smiled and said to Hermione, "I see them, Hermione. Your parents must have been waiting for a long time. Let's go over there."

They carried their luggage to Hermione's parents, who, seeing their daughter return safely, embraced her affectionately with smiles of relief on their faces.

When Jerry saw Hermione's father looking somewhat embarrassed, he smiled awkwardly and tried to decline, saying, "No need, Hermione. I can just take the bus."

However, Mrs. Granger interrupted him warmly.

“Jerry, you don’t need to be so polite,” Mrs. Granger said with a smile. “Hermione writes to us often, and she always mentions you. She says you are her best friend and that you have taken very good care of her. We are very grateful for your help to Hermione!”

“Yes, madam,” Jerry replied calmly.

Upon hearing this answer, Mrs. Granger said somewhat embarrassedly, "I'm sorry, Jerry, I didn't mean anything by it, it's just that you don't seem like someone from an orphanage."

Hearing Mrs. Granger's words, Jerry smiled and said, "It's alright, madam!"

Jerry was already used to the Grangers' surprise. After all, his appearance and demeanor certainly didn't seem like that of a child from an orphanage.

When Mrs. Granger saw Jerry's confidence and optimism, she said with pity, "Poor child, your parents are so cruel!" Her tone was full of sympathy and regret for Jerry's plight.
