Everyone thought it was just a novice firing under pressure, but only Ludo caught a glimpse of extreme indifference—the composure of an experienced hunter facing a completely unknown prey.

At this moment, he was the unsuspecting prey.

A biting cold covered his back, as if every hair on his body was about to stand up.

He looked into He Ao's eyes, into the deepest indifference within them, and he knew that He Ao really would pull the trigger.

When a fierce hunter is unrestrained, he becomes the most terrifying presence in the night.

Ludo's arrogance and prestige were shattered by the cold muzzle of the gun. He trembled, his legs buckling and shaking involuntarily.

"So, can we go in now?"

Heo's wrist didn't move at all; he just pressed the muzzle down a little, making it point directly at Ludo's forehead.

"Can···"

Ludo opened his mouth tremblingly, but his words were interrupted by a sudden sound from the darkness.

Snap—Snap—Snap—

A man who was over 1.8 meters tall, broad-shouldered and burly, with a slicked-back hairstyle, emerged from the shadows.

He clapped his hands together, making a crisp sound.

“Investigator Ander…?” He smiled at Heo, then reached out and grabbed Ludo by the collar, throwing him behind him. “The FBI must be laughing in their sleep to have a newcomer like you.”

"Victor, you're out of prison?"

Selena stepped forward and stood in front of Heo.

He lowered his gun. Since the other party was able to drag Ludo away naturally under his gun, it proved that the other party was not afraid of him shooting. However, he did not put away his gun, but maintained a guarded posture.

“Unfortunately, I’ve just regained my freedom,” Victor nodded with a smile. “I didn’t expect to encounter something so interesting so soon after I got out.”

He looked at He Ao and extended his hand. "Brother Ander, let me introduce myself. My name is Victor, and I'm currently barely considered one of the managers of this casino."

He hesitated for a moment before reaching out his hand.

"This is the leader of the Money Rat Gang. He's dangerous. Be careful."

Selena stepped to the side, giving Heo space to shake hands, and whispered a warning.

"Hello, FBI, Ender."

He Ao nodded gently and reached out to grasp Viktor's hand.

Viktor didn't make any subtle moves or probes; he simply shook hands, then smiled and let go. "My useless subordinate lost that round, but now that I'm out, it's not right to just let you in. How about this..."

With a wave of his hand, a subordinate immediately brought over a gambling table.

"Casino matters are settled at the gambling table; three rounds will decide life or death. If you win, you can freely inspect the Crown Casino today. If you lose, please..."

"Here we go back. If any suspects have infiltrated the casino, I'll arrest them and personally deliver them to the FBI."

They were currently at a corner near the main entrance, a spot easily missed by passersby. So, while the argument between Heo and Ludo had attracted some attention, it hadn't drawn a crowd.

But as soon as Victor set up the gambling table, a crowd immediately gathered around.

For gamblers, nothing is more exciting than gambling.

"What are you gambling?"

"Selena asked in a low voice."

“Miss Selena, we dare not bet with you,” Victor said, looking at Heo. “I wonder if Brother Ander would be willing to participate in this bet?”

Even if Selena, with her advanced cybernetic prosthetics, entered a casino, she would be asked to leave or have many of her game options restricted, as this would be too unfair to other gamblers.

Upon hearing Victor's question, Heo turned his gaze to Selena.

After all, Selena was his boss.

Selena looked at He's calm face, thought for a moment, and nodded gently.

So Heo looked at Victor and said, "Okay."

He then added, "What games? I've never been to a casino before, I don't know the rules."

Selena, who was about to retreat behind He Ao, almost lost her balance and stumbled. She had just looked at He Ao's calm and confident face and thought he was a hidden big shot.

“Let’s pick something easy, blackjack,” Victor said, taking two steps back and glancing to the side. His underling immediately understood and handed him a deck of cards. Victor explained as he tore open the packaging.

"This game is very simple. First, remove the two jokers from the deck. Then, the dealer deals two face-down cards to each player. Players can choose to reveal one of the cards. They can then choose to continue bidding or stop bidding. Once all players have stopped bidding..."

Victor picked out the two jokers from the deck and tossed them aside. "Game over. Players reveal their remaining hole cards and add up all their points. Face cards are worth ten points. The player with the higher final score wins. If they are the same, it's a tie. But if the total exceeds twenty-one, boom!"

Viktor mouthed an explosive gesture, "Then let's just reset it to zero and lose this bet."

He placed the cards in the middle and stood in the middle of the side of the gambling table.

He looked at him suspiciously, "You're not going to bet with me?"

“Of course, my skills aren’t that great,” Victor smiled, glancing at Ludo slowly getting up from the crowd, then turning to Heo, “You have to give people a chance.”

Ludo didn't catch his boss's signal, but someone else did, so he was immediately dragged to the gambling table, directly opposite Heo.

He Ao didn't look at Ludo, but looked at Victor. "I think if we're gambling with a casino, shouldn't we find a less experienced dealer?"

The implication is that I don't think you're suitable to be a croupier.

"Then Miss Selena will be the dealer."

Victor was taken aback by Heo's question, then smiled and looked at Selena, "After all, a beautiful lady is much better than a big, burly man like me as a dealer."

"Hahaha"

Laughter immediately erupted from the crowd of onlookers.

Casinos are actually very pure places; they are simple and brutal, gathering the most basic human desires: greed, violence, lust. All desires are displayed without reservation in shouts, the clinking of chips, laughter, and cries.

Selena was still a little taken aback, but she knew it was in her favor.

She couldn't possibly cheat; everyone around her was a seasoned casino employee, and there was also Victor present. It would be easy for her to be caught cheating. But at least this ensured that, as a dealer, she was impartial.

If Victor were to deal the cards, she might not be able to detect that Victor was cheating.

May I examine this deck of cards?

He suddenly spoke before Selena could take the cards.

"of course can."

Victor naturally tossed the cards to Heo.

He Ao caught the deck of cards with ease, and the entire deck landed neatly in his palm.

Even without the aid of 'martial arts', He Ao's own skills were not bad.

A deck of casino-customized playing cards produced in a factory is virtually indistinguishable from one another just by looking at the back. Even with the most advanced high-resolution prosthetic eyes, it would be difficult to distinguish each card clearly.

This was all Selena knew; even she couldn't tell the difference between the backs of those playing cards.

He Ao didn't know any of this, but he wanted to try it out using hypermemory.

The moment He Ao activated his super memory, the entire world in his eyes changed. Everyone's face, even the pores on their cheeks, became clearly visible.

This is hyper memory. The moment hyper memory is activated, the 'world' in He Ao's eyes is different. He can clearly see the texture of everything and quickly imprint these things into his mind by classifying them.

He even suspected that, in his hyperthymesia state, he wasn't 'seeing' with his eyes, but rather taking in everything around him from a higher perspective.

However, his time for super memory was limited, and he didn't have time to study these things carefully. He looked at the deck of cards in his hand, picked up the top card at random, and put it under the light.

This is a 2 of diamonds. He flipped it over a few times to carefully examine the details of the card.

Then he quickly switched to another card.

He originally intended to try and memorize the numbers on the cards by remembering the subtle differences between them.

But he discovered something interesting on the cards: the patterns on the back of each card were actually slightly different.

These subtle differences don't seem to be visible in the visible light spectrum. He Ao can only vaguely perceive the differences in these patterns, and these differences can only be seen when looking directly at the back of the card or at certain special angles.

He lifted the deck of cards and quickly went through each card.

As he expected, each card had this special 'design', and he quickly established a connection between the pattern and the corresponding card in his mind.

This was a tampered deck of cards from the start; the casino staff must have had special tools to see and know the contents of the cards without turning them over.

Interesting.

Heo handed the cards back to Victor and chuckled softly, "No problem."

Victor checked the cards to make sure Heo hadn't tampered with them, then handed the cards to Selena. "Now, let's begin the game."

He took two steps back, and casino staff on either side brought over two chairs and placed them behind Heo and Ludo.

Ludo glanced shakily at Heo, then at the cards in Selena's hand, and seemed a little more at ease before slowly sitting down in a chair.

He Ao seemed a little nervous. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself down before sitting down. He put his hands on the table, then seemed to feel it was inappropriate, so he put his hands under the table and even put them in his pockets.

Then, under everyone's gaze, he took his hand out of his pocket again.

His breathing was very labored, as if he was constantly tense.

Watching Heo's actions, Ludo's mood gradually calmed down. Although Heo was good at killing and fighting, he was still a novice in the casino. He would be able to avenge the gunshot wound he had just suffered.

"Ander?"

Selena looked at He Ao with some concern, seeing his nervous expression.

"It's alright!" He Ao nodded gently to her, "Give it a try, it won't hurt."

Giving up is the same as failing, but gambling still offers the possibility of winning.

Upon hearing Heo's words, Selena took a breath and then began dealing cards to both sides.

Her card-dealing technique was unprofessional, but no one present cared.
