"Security vulnerability, security vulnerability"
Electronic sounds echoed throughout the vast ship's cabin.
Then, one hidden door after another opened with a clatter on the surrounding walls, and mechanical shells covered with wires were dropped down one after another. The black bodies of unknown alloys had eerie green lights shining in the components that served as pupils, and the indestructible structure formed a skull-like shape.
The cables disconnected one by one, and the machine slowly landed, enveloping Shen You like an iron barrel.
"Target changed. New priority: Destroy the intruders."
Shen You calmly swept his gaze across the array of machines: "You know, when I first discovered someone was plotting something, several ideas flashed through my mind, and I listed quite a few possible enemies. But I honestly couldn't think of you at the moment; I'd almost forgotten about you."
All the machines fired at once.
A closer look reveals that they even seem to be coordinating tactically, with each projecting different beams. Some are responsible for crowd control, some for dealing damage, and others for providing shields and standing at the forefront to inflict damage.
With tanks, crowd control, and damage, team fights somehow feel somewhat reasonable.
Of course, there's a saying, isn't there?
Faced with absolute strength
With this thought in mind, Shen Youren had already flashed out. Electricity pierced through space, and the afterimage of Mach drifted gracefully through the crisscrossing beams of light.
Before the entire encirclement could take shape, Shen You had already broken through the blockade line. The red and silver afterimages resembled a torrent of lightning, sweeping across the entire line of machines like a rushing torrent.
The machines along the way were suddenly overwhelmed, and their seemingly indestructible armor crumbled apart. Shen You glided to a stop behind the row of mechs, leaving behind only a pile of broken parts.
Of course, these machines felt no fear; the evaporation of their comrades posed no threat to the remaining troops. Their hyper-fast AI immediately locked onto Shen You's position, and all the cannons simultaneously pursued him, unleashing bursts of energy and flames that surged toward him.
Shen You extended his left palm, and the light emanating from his body transformed into a barrier. A barrage of energy, as dense as raindrops, poured down on the shield. Although it was completely blocked, it did not dissipate; it seemed to linger on the surface of the barrier after the impact subsided.
Shen You flicked his wrist, deftly twisting it. The barrier in his hand spun rapidly, the light energy transforming into a vortex that swallowed all the absorbed energy. With a change of gesture, the boundless radiance instantly split into many beams, each intelligently locking onto a machine, transforming into a sky full of light arrows that blasted through every mech!
The screen was instantly wiped out, and the overflowing brilliance exploded in all directions within the space, with a series of continuous explosions resounding inside the warship.
Brainiac, who had been blasted away at the beginning, took the opportunity to raise his arm again and lock onto Shen You's back as he operated the barrier in mid-air.
But when he fired the shot, the annihilated particles, accompanied by intense heat, left the barrel, and the red-silver body suddenly vanished.
Brainiac's AI operated at lightning speed; the target-locking system almost instantly caught up with the high-speed afterimage and confirmed its coordinates.
It's right on my face.
Shen You spread his five fingers and steadily caught Brainiac's sweeping arm. It was clear that Brainiac's physical abilities were not bad; such a sweeping arm strike must have had the force of tens of thousands of tons. However, he caught it with ease, his palm even deforming Brainiac's arm, his five fingers embedding into its armored shell.
With a sudden burst of strength, he ripped Brainiac's arm off his body with a snap. Oil and sparks flew from the break like blood, and a long, chain-like structure, resembling bone, trailed behind the severed arm.
Brainiac turned to face Shen You, his mouth opening to reveal a jet-black heavy cannon. But before he could fire, Shen You swung the severed arm, and with a snap, sent Brainiac's entire head flying. The robot's round head flew a long way like a baseball hit to home run, a long chain-like structure trailing behind the severed head, resembling a spine.
The severed head and arms snapped open at the chest, revealing another hidden cannon inside, which was actually trying to resist. Such indomitable spirit was commendable, though ultimately futile.
Shen You flung away the severed arm, his five fingers forming a knife shape, and thrust forward with a powerful stab, a Black Tiger Strike at the Heart. His entire arm pierced through Brainiac's chest like a spear, bursting out with a burst of electricity from his back.
The final counterattack was also thwarted, and the hidden cannon was destroyed on the spot. When Shen You pulled his arm out, he had an energy core in his hand, like a byproduct of a semi-metallic heart.
He squeezed hard, and the core exploded, sending blood and debris flying everywhere. The decapitated body collapsed to the ground, completely still.
Shen You recalled that he had also fought a similarly caliber match against Brainiac in the Metropolitan. Back then, he had to put in a little effort, but the key to his victory was that Old Brainiac generously gave him a Stellar Cannon.
Although not much time has passed, and it's still the same old Blainek, Shen You has undergone a complete transformation. With a comprehensive upgrade in both hardware and software, facing Blainek again is easier than he imagined.
Now, he has at least a hundred ways to dismantle this entire warship in the blink of an eye. Recalling his previous battle experience, he feels as if it were a lifetime ago, and there is a sense of unreality in it.
However, Old Bu's head rolled to the side, his eyes blinking, and he was still stammering as he spoke.
"Data update, race code: Ultraman, exceeding calculation limits, cannot..."
"Okay, stop howling."
Shen You stepped forward and picked up the only remaining part of Old Bu's head.
"This scene feels strangely familiar, but it has indeed been a while since I've seen it. How should I put it, catch up?"
301. Whose fault is it in Chapter 300?
Brainiac sent it again.
Of course, it's still not fair to say that this trouble is completely gone. But Shen You isn't discouraged. Brainiac is like Ultron; solving him once and for all is much more difficult than simply dealing with him.
This is no exaggeration. Since the character's inception, Superman and the Justice League have yet to completely rid themselves of this problem. Taking down an artificial intelligence is troublesome enough, let alone an interstellar superintelligence with backups scattered throughout the universe. Destroying the original, at least at this stage, is no small feat.
But it doesn't matter. To be honest, Shen You doesn't really mind Brainiac showing up every few days to make his presence known.
The warship seized from Old Bu last time is still the best quality item in Shen You's collection, and it also comes with a knowledge system of the civilization technology tree of nineteen star systems.
This brief encounter, lasting only a few minutes in total, resulted in the addition of another warship and a richer knowledge base of various star systems—it was truly a godsend.
In addition to the regular gift packs, Shen You even offered limited-edition prizes this time. Shoot down a warship and get three new gods for free—buy one get three free, can you believe it?
When Shen You, the new master of the warship, swaggered around inspecting the snow collection area, the three new gods were dumbfounded.
Getting caught after a mistake isn't unusual, but not even seeing the person on the other end the whole time is truly insane. You're happily walking along in the shadows, and suddenly, whoosh, everything blurs before your eyes, and you're in jail for no reason. Who can you complain to?
The three people who were imprisoned were still unaware of what was going on. When they saw Shen You, they were only shocked and inexplicably horrified by his unimaginable counterattack methods. But if they knew that they had simply become a shield for another group of attackers, they would probably be so angry that they would vomit blood on the spot.
Before Brainiac's last remaining head was crushed, he uttered a final, threatening statement. Shen You didn't listen carefully, but it was roughly the classic villain tactic: a threat in the format of "I will definitely come back."
Shen You responded, "It's good that you're back. Come back more often when you have time."
After all, what's that old saying again?
Come back and visit often.
The richness of his knowledge base largely depends on how frequently Old Bu visits.
Originally, he was just here to fill in Almeric's tech tree, but unexpectedly, Old Bu suddenly gave him a rocket halfway through, making him a fortune. Shen You was in a great mood because of this.
After this series of events, the remaining Apocalypse people have temporarily withdrawn from Almeric. It seems that they are no longer interested in attacking any strategic locations.
Zazo, who had initially led the rebellion, revealed the old king's whereabouts that same day. Perhaps considering his own escape route, Zazo hadn't killed the old king, but instead imprisoned him. Now, with the rebel army collapsing and Zazo surrendering, he was no longer a force to be reckoned with. After revealing the location, Maxima rescued the old man with little effort.
Maxima personally led the charge, fighting his way into the stronghold and tearing the fortress apart to find the old king.
Upon seeing the old man, her nose tingled with emotion. She dashed forward at subsonic speed and embraced her father tightly, crying out, "Father!"
The old man was also moved to tears, saying, "You actually came looking for me? I never expected this day would come."
“What are you talking about?” Maxima said. “I am the princess of Almeric, and of course I will fight that despicable man to the last.”
Unexpectedly, the old man cried out, "My dear daughter, of course I'm not questioning your determination, I'm questioning your ability! Who would have thought that someone with your brain could actually go this far?"
Maxima blushed, somewhat displeased: "I'm all grown up now, and I'm very smart."
Upon hearing this, the old man burst into tears: "If that's really the case, how come you haven't noticed that you just crushed your father's bones?"
"what!?"
Maxima was startled and quickly let go: "Ah, Father, I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention. Did I hurt you?"
"Thank goodness, it's just a few broken bones, nothing serious. Cough cough cough."
"."
In short, the outcome was a happy one for everyone.
After this battle, Maxima intended to return the throne to her father—she seemed to realize that her intellectual limitations made her ill-suited for the position. However, the old king refused. He seemed to see this as a good opportunity to have his daughter take over, so he formally held a ceremony to pass the throne to her.
Thus, following the historical precedent, Maxima officially became the new Queen of Almería.
Of course, that happened after Shen You left.
He anticipated the new empress's series of attacks, a move described as "I have nothing to repay you with but my life," and knowing when to stop, he fled before the ceremony with his new warships and new gains.
Somewhere in the darkness.
A large alloy door opened, and streaks of gray-black shadows flapped their wings and flew in.
The figure in the purplish-black robe turned around in the shadows, a sinister light shining from his scarlet eyes.
"Didn't find it? What do you mean 'didn't find it'?"
Several demons crouched on the ground, chattering and gesturing as they described the situation.
The more Disadard listened, the colder his gaze became. He sat down in his chair, pondered for a moment, and then with a flick of his sleeve, sent all the Parademons rolling away.
The new god of apocalypse sat alone in the darkness for a moment. Then he raised his arm, and with a gentle wave of his withered hand from within his long sleeve, a transparent interface appeared before him.
Those were a series of readings collected by the Parademons, all data obtained after investigating the "crime scene" of his three mysteriously missing teammates.
The person behind it all was very discreet; even he didn't notice at first. But after surveying and reconstructing the residual energy and spatial readings at the scene, Dessard began to discover something.
There were traces of technology, like teleportation. He wasn't familiar with it, but he seemed to recognize whose work it was.
After all, there are very few beings in the entire universe that possess this level of technology.
“Brainiac,” Disadard practically spat out the name through clenched teeth.
The new god narrowed his eyes, gritted his teeth, and his withered fingers almost crushed the armrest of the chair.
Of course, he couldn't possibly be unaware of this guy. A superintelligence drifting in the universe, a collector of technological knowledge, and a figurine fanatic who loves to bottle up civilizations.
But so far, this crazy AI hasn't gone so far as to dare to provoke them on Apokolips.
It seems that this is the case up to now.
Disadard said in a deep voice, "This action will be regarded as a declaration of war!"
302. Chapter 301 Regular Meeting
"Shen You? Shen You, are you there?"
Kara leaned half her body over the table and waved her little hand in front of Shen You.
Shen You snapped out of his reverie: "Oh, sorry, I was just thinking about something."
To be precise, I was dealing with something else.
After all, although he appeared to be sitting in a coffee shop talking to her, he was actually in space at the same time. His clone had just finished packing up the spoils of war in Almeric and was heading back with the warship.
Multitasking has gradually become his specialty, but sometimes he still tends to devote too much energy to one side. And when his focus is concentrated on one side while the other side happens to be relatively free, he occasionally drifts off into a daze.
