"Come on, you idiots of freedom and democracy! Why aren't you spouting your old clichés now?!"
The soldier grew increasingly arrogant as he fought, repeatedly pulling the trigger of his energy cannon while flying in mid-air.
"No one can stop us anymore! No one!"
Then a gentle voice sounded from behind.
"Okay, then I guess I might be the 'nobody' one."
Upon hearing this, the soldier, who was in the midst of a fierce battle, raised an eyebrow and turned around angrily.
"Who? Who dares to challenge me!?"
Turning my head, I was immediately struck by a large "S".
Superman, arms crossed, cape billowing, floated in mid-air with a smile under the gaze of countless eyes.
The soldier's expression froze instantly.
He swallowed hard, and his fierce expression instantly transformed into a smile.
"Oh, it's you! Haha, what a coincidence!"
Chapter 252 Deherrean
Superman is practically synonymous with invincibility on Earth. You may not have seen him, but you could never have not heard of him, let alone be unaware of his abilities.
The moment that "S" appeared on the battlefield, a sentence seemed to immediately pop into the minds of Dehereen's warriors.
game over.
As expected, what happened next was exactly what happened. Superman's figure blurred, and red and blue afterimages swept through the air like a whirlwind. Before anyone could see his movements, a series of loud explosions were heard in mid-air, and the soldiers' mechs exploded and became disabled.
The guns they had were powerful, but that was relative to Earth's weapons. As for hitting Superman, it wasn't that they were completely ineffective, but... well, they were utterly ineffective.
Their flying mechs are fast and cool, but compared to Superman, they are only slightly better than nothing.
Generally speaking, conflicts between nations are not within Superman's scope of work, but when it escalates to the level of interstellar invasion, the nature of the situation changes drastically. In just one minute, Superman demonstrated to everyone just how much of a role he could single-handedly play in a war if he wanted to.
For them, this was just the beginning of a nightmare.
Following closely behind was Supergirl. Although she rarely appeared in public, the "S" on her chest, identical to Superman's, was already quite intimidating. And the facts quickly proved that their worries were not unfounded; the girl's performance was in no way inferior to Superman's, sweeping across the battlefield like a whirlwind, leaving mechs exploding and people falling wherever she went.
Next up was the Martian Hunter. This one was truly heavyweight. Upon landing, the Martian immediately activated his shapeshifting ability, expanding to over fifty meters tall and transforming into an upright, terrifying dragon. Long tail fins ran from his spine to his tail, and he opened his mouth to spew out scorching flames.
Everyone was even more dumbfounded.
Superman and Supergirl are one thing, but what the hell is with Godzilla joining in the fun?
"Hold on! Alpha Slam is coming to reinforce!"
A sharp, dagger-like squad pierced through Dehereen's ranks, flanking the battle from both sides.
This is a special team. Unlike regular flight formations equipped with heavy exoskeletons, they wear more form-fitting combat suits. When in operation, fluorescent stripes crisscross their entire bodies. Although their defenses are weak and most of their weapons have been removed, they possess extraordinary running speed.
This is why they never engage in frontal assaults in their battle plans, but instead excel at flank guerrilla warfare. By using their unpredictable speed to support the main force, the enemy never knows who attacked them.
That's generally the case.
However, just as the squad started running, a red-gold afterimage came chasing after them from behind. The figure was crackling with golden lightning, turned around, and was walking backwards with its back to them, while staring wide-eyed at their battle suits with curiosity.
"Wow, guys, you guys are really fast. What kind of technology is this? It doesn't look like the Speed Force."
The entire group of people were dumbfounded.
It felt a bit like spending real money in a game to buy top-tier movement speed gear, ready to wreak havoc and have some fun, only to have a guy with no gear casually overtake you from behind, casually asking, "Hey bro, wanna buy some cheats?"
No, running backwards is going too far, isn't it?
The physical harm is secondary; the main issue is the extreme humiliation.
"It's The Flash! The Flash from Central City!" someone shouted.
"Take him!"
The soldiers drew their guns and opened fire, beams of energy shooting out. The Flash dodged to the side, muttering, "Fine, if you don't want to talk about it, that's fine. You guys didn't have to be so...uh, what a bunch of hot-tempered people."
With that, he took a step forward, and a red afterimage crackling with electricity flashed past the entire speed squad. The soldiers only saw a flash of red before their eyes and instinctively raised their arms to try to protect their faces, but the expected speeding impact did not come.
On the other hand, they only felt a chill on their bodies, especially in their groin area.
Looking down, the entire team froze.
They were stripped naked.
In a split second, before anyone could react, the Flash arrogantly strode through their group, casually stripping them of their high-tech suits and weapons piece by piece.
So when they came to their senses, the entire squad was running naked on the battlefield.
What the hell is that speed?!
The entire Alpha Lightning team was stunned.
They used to think alien technology was amazing, that they could run faster than a bullet and were invincible. Now, compared to that, their rudimentary technology hardly qualifies as speed.
With such a large team, all their speed suits operating at full power, the Flash managed to strip them all naked without a single one realizing what was happening. Clearly, this meant that in the Flash's eyes, they were probably no different from eighty-year-old men strolling in the park.
After all, would you care which snail is the Usain Bolt among snails?
If they previously felt it was an insult for someone to run backwards in front of them, they now realize that it might not be.
After all, it seems that even if they can't hop on one leg, they can still crawl faster than them.
Meanwhile, the other formations were also suffering from varying degrees of physical and mental torment.
For example, right now, while everyone on the battlefield was engaged in fierce combat, a huge shadow suddenly descended from the sky. A group of Deherien warriors, shrouded in the shadow, looked up and were shocked to see the enormous shadow falling directly down from mid-air.
It's lush green, huge and heavy, and looks like a road roller.
"Eat my road roller!"
A road roller descended from the sky with a deafening roar that shook the earth. A figure of Green Lantern, remotely controlling the roller, also descended from the sky, a green horn appearing at his lips, its voice booming and full of energy.
“Listen up, aliens, your actions violate interstellar law. I am Green Lantern of Sector 2814. If you know what's good for you, put your hands up and surrender. You have the right to remain silent, but every word you utter will be…”
The Lantern Ring reminds us: "In fact, according to European and American law, Apokolips' actions are generally not within the jurisdiction of the Lantern Ring."
"Shut up! I say it's the final word, don't undermine me!" Hal snapped.
The lamp ring fell silent.
However, the battle below was fierce, with high-tech soldiers locked in a grueling struggle against a group of superpowered beings—well, "battle" might not be the most accurate description, as the enemy was primarily responsible for the attacks while they were the ones taking the hits.
But for the time being, no one has time to pay attention to Hal.
Hal was disappointed, so he removed the loudspeaker.
"Okay, it seems like nobody has time to deal with us. Well then."
Hal raised his lamp ring, which emitted a green light that materialized into countless metal parts that assembled around him until they transformed into a mobile suit over twenty meters tall, covered in weapons from head to toe, with a bright green lamp ring marking its chest.
"Let's have a party!"
Chapter 253 Red and Green Since Ancient Times?
To be honest, when the warriors of Deherion acquired the weapons of the Apocalypse, although many of them did so out of necessity, most of them were genuinely captivated by these incredible technologies and powerful abilities. They even fantasized that with these technologies, they could easily sweep away the armies of major nations and unify the world.
However, this confidence didn't even have time to cross national borders before it was shattered when it encountered this group of strangely dressed deities.
Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, and The Flash. It seems like there are only a few of them, but their arrival instantly reversed the tide of battle. The once-invincible hunters were now the prey; their weapons were utterly useless against these overpowered individuals, offering them virtually no opportunity to be used.
In no time at all, the border conflict was resolved. The Dehereen forces dispatched there were quickly wiped out.
“There are some new faces.” Diana sheathed her sword and looked at The Flash and Green Lantern.
She was meeting these two people for the first time.
Hal caught sight of Diana, raised an eyebrow, and whistled loudly. Surrounded by green light, he landed gracefully, extending his hand with a beaming smile: "Hello, I'm Green Lantern."
Diana politely extended her hand to shake his: "Wonder Woman."
Hal smirked: "Beautiful lady, want to know my secret identity?"
But before the two could shake hands, a flash of electricity went off nearby. The Flash appeared in front of Hal, took Diana's hand, and exclaimed excitedly, "I've heard of you, Wonder Woman. Wow, is that Superman over there? And Supergirl, and uh... is that green-clad guy a newbie? I don't think I remember him."
Hal said with dissatisfaction, "Hey Barry, I was here first."
The Flash raised an eyebrow sharply: "There's a reason I wear a mask, you know, Hal? Why don't you just grab a megaphone and shout my name in Times Square?"
Diana's gaze swept over the two of them: "You two...know each other?"
Hal: "I know him."
Barry: "I don't know him."
The two exchanged a glance as soon as they finished speaking.
Hal: "Hey, you're embarrassing me in front of the princess!"
Barry: "You should have thought of this when you exposed our secret identities."
The two talked at once, arguing and explaining, until they finally figured out how they met. Apparently, they bumped into each other while investigating a kidnapping case and even got into a fight. Later, in a classic case of "enemies becoming friends," they teamed up to apprehend the kidnappers.
The process is pretty cliché, nothing much to say. Basically, it's about two good guys who have a misunderstanding and get into a fight, but then they reconcile for some reason similar to our mom's name and end up becoming cool guys.
But as the saying goes, red and green are often enemies, and the Green Lantern and Lightning duo are two of the most interactive veterans in the league. They have a good personal relationship, but they love to bicker whenever they meet, it's an old tradition.
"Alright, we can talk about the adventure later. In short, we're all gathered here for the same purpose: to resist the invasion and protect our home."
Superman looked around at everyone and said.
"We need to work together, fight side by side, and form an alliance."
“For example, let’s call it the Avengers,” Kara interjected excitedly.
Several people looked at each other.
“I don’t really like this name.” Superman scratched his head. “Revenge doesn’t sound good, it’s not very positive. It sounds more like some kind of alliance fighting for justice, trying to help others and uphold justice.”
"Justice League, great idea!" The Flash clapped his hands in approval. "Then we can tell the bad guys, 'You were just 'exonerated'!"
Everyone stared at him expressionlessly.
"Hmm, that does sound a bit silly." The Flash reluctantly withdrew his hand. "Maybe we should reconsider."
