After recounting the names of each hero, Bai Mo added details about their personalities and characteristics, so that everyone could be more engaged in the storytelling that followed.

"Hey hey hey! This Kevin Kaslana, he has the same last name as me! Could he be my ancestor?"

Upon hearing that Kevin shared the same surname as her, Kaslana, Kiana looked at Bai Mo with curiosity.

"Don't look at me like that, I don't know anything about this either. Ji Lin told me all this."

Damn it, I shouldn't have said Kevin's last name. Looking at Kiana's curious expression, Bai Mo had a headache.

"And another thing, this Yingjie named Hua seems to be very similar to the class monitor, both in personality and name."

No longer dwelling on Kevin's matter, Kiana turned her attention to Fu Hua.

"It might be a coincidence, but they do look somewhat alike."

Fu Hua did not refute, but simply said it calmly.

But for some reason, when I heard Bai Mo tell the story of the Thirteen Heroes, I felt a dull ache in my heart.

"Ahem, stop guessing. That happened 50,000 years ago. Let me continue."

Not daring to let Kiana continue making wild guesses, Bai Mo quickly changed the subject.

"Let me tell you, besides these heroes, there is another very important person in the [Fire Moth] group called Dr. Mei. She is the most outstanding scientist among mankind and has made a huge contribution to the fight against the Honkai."

"Among them, in order to enable each hero to better fight against the Honkai and survive on the battlefield, Dr. Mei also launched a project called the [Fusion Warrior].

"The [Fusion Warrior] project aims to fuse the genes of each Hero with those of a Honkai Beast, granting them greater power and some of the characteristics of a Honkai Beast."

"Take Kevin for example, he fused with Parvati's genes, which gave him the power to freeze everything."

Not daring to go into too much detail, Bai Mo only gave a general overview of Dr. Mei's contributions to these heroes, and of course, to all of humanity.

After all, revealing all those plans from the previous era would be disastrous. For now, let's just treat it as a story. Going into too much detail would only arouse suspicion, since this is different from "Thus Spoke Apocalypse".

Afterwards, Bai Mo explained some of Ying Jie's past to everyone and also gave them some "sweet moments".

For example, there's the story of Himeko becoming the Herrscher of Flame, and Sakura's younger sister, Rin, becoming the Herrscher of Corruption.

Of course, Bai Mo only said this out of necessity, since all other related information was linked to Project Ark, Project Stigmata, and Project Moonlight Throne. To satisfy everyone's curiosity, Bai Mo could only say so much.

"Oh, right, actually, Hua, one of the Thirteen Heroes, is the same person the people of Shenzhou call the Crimson Kite Immortal!"

"According to Ji Lin herself, these stories were all told to her by Hua."

Bai Mo shook his finger and said smugly, while glancing at Fu Hua beside him intentionally or unintentionally. However, everyone was still shocked that Fu Hua was the Crimson Iris Immortal, and none of them noticed Bai Mo's little action.

"This is a person from 50,000 years ago! He actually lived to the time of Shenzhou. That's spanning an entire era."

Shocked, Kiana gaped in disbelief and exclaimed.

"Perhaps the Honkai Beast genes from the Hua Fusion are somewhat special, making them more resilient?"

Fu Hua, standing to the side, hesitated before speaking.

"Ah, yes, yes!"

Bai Mo echoed in agreement.

Chapter Forty: Undercurrents

“Lili Lili... Rita, you... what brings you to St. Freya?”

Inside the dean's office, Theresa panicked and tore the comic book in her hand to shreds as Rita suddenly knocked on the door and entered.

How come Rita has time to come to St. Freya Academy? Did Grandpa arrange for her to come?

Why didn't they tell me beforehand? Luckily I reacted quickly, otherwise they would have found out. But I'm a bit short on funds lately, so I'll try to extort some money from Grandpa when I have time. Anyway, it's all Grandpa's fault.

Looking down at the comic book that had been torn to shreds, Theresa subconsciously thought.

"What, does Lady Theresa not want to see Rita?"

Without exposing Theresa's underhanded tactics, Rita covered her mouth and smiled.

"No, no! I just thought that headquarters is so busy, how come you have time to come here?"

Theresa pulled out a stool from the side and smiled, gesturing for Rita to sit down.

However, the sweat on her forehead and her unnatural expression constantly revealed Theresa's nervousness; after all, she really couldn't handle someone with Rita's personality.

"Yes, that's why I came here to relax a bit, Lady Theresa, because headquarters is so busy."

Rita deftly took a glass of bitter melon juice from her bag and placed it on Theresa's table. She spoke in a slightly languid tone, as if she were genuinely exhausted and wanted to relax, though of course it was all an act.

"Alright, alright, stop playing coy with me, tell me! Did Grandpa send you?"

Theresa took a sip of the bitter melon juice in front of her and looked somewhat helpless.

After all, Rita was always sent by her grandfather to cause trouble whenever she came to St. Freya Academy. Besides, if she wanted to relax, she would have been better off going on vacation. What was the point of coming here?

Could it really be that she simply misses herself and wants to see things more clearly? Recalling the scene when Rita bought children's clothes for her to change into, Theresa couldn't help but shudder.

"Alright, it was indeed His Holiness the Bishop who sent me, but I also had my own reasons for doing so."

After saying that, Rita handed her bag to Theresa, who opened it and found it full of dresses and uniforms.

"These are all gifts I bought for Lady Theresa as a token of our meeting."

Seeing Theresa's amusing expression, Rita couldn't help but laugh.

"Rita!!"

Theresa shouted in shame and indignation, after all, she was no longer a child.

"Alright, alright, actually the bishop sent me here to inspect St. Freya's work and to see if there are any particularly outstanding Valkyries."

"Grandpa is trying to make a move on my students again! No way! Absolutely not!"

"His Holiness the Bishop only told me to keep a closer eye out; he wasn't trying to poach my staff."

"That won't do either. These students are the result of my hard work in training them. Don't think I don't know what Grandpa is thinking."

Theresa pursed her lips, no matter what Rita said, she would never believe Otto again.

Ostensibly, he was just keeping a closer eye on his students, but once he had them under his nose, he started making underhanded moves. It's likely that within a few days, they'll be transferred to the Schicksal headquarters under various pretexts. Otto has already done this once before, and Theresa, having learned her lesson, will absolutely not repeat the same mistake.

Helpless, seeing Theresa's resolute stance, Rita said nothing more.

"In that case, I'll be going now, but before I leave, Lady Theresa, would you mind if I stayed a few more days?"

"After all, I only complied with the bishop's wishes so that I could come and see Lady Theresa."

Rita tasted the bitter melon juice on the table and frowned slightly, seemingly not used to the taste yet.

"Let me make this clear first! You can stay, but you're not allowed to try anything funny or make any moves to target my students!"

Putting aside Otto's ulterior motives, Theresa also really hoped that Rita could stay here a little longer, after all, the two had a very good relationship.

"Then I'll go out and find a place to stay first, since the college dormitories are already full."

Rita waved her hand and walked out of the office.

"Rita always buys clothes that are only for children. Can't she buy a few more mature ones?"

In front of the mirror, Theresa was comparing the clothes Rita had bought for her one by one.

……………On the other side, at the headquarters of Destiny.

"Your Excellency, you wanted to see me."

In a magnificent room, Durandal quietly watched Otto, who was sipping red wine beside her.

"I'm sorry to disturb you during your training, Bianca."

Otto swirled the red wine in his glass, downed it in one gulp, and then stood up.

"It's alright, Your Excellency. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Wiping the sweat from her forehead, Durandal was somewhat puzzled, since Otto never bothered her unless there was an urgent mission.

But judging from the other party's relaxed demeanor, it was clear that there was no urgent mission requiring their intervention.

"Actually, it's nothing major. I just wanted to catch up with you and ask you about someone."

Otto poured a glass of wine and handed it to Durandal, speaking slowly.

"Who are you asking about?"

Durandal was a little confused. After all, Otto had thoroughly studied almost everyone who could attract his attention, so why was he asking her this?

"Bai Mo, you should remember me, right? I remember you met when I sent you to support St. Freya last time."

Otto got straight to the point.

"I have indeed met her. I think she is a very good junior, very ambitious."

After thinking about how hard Bai Mo had been asking her for advice on combat and training techniques during this time, Durandal gave him a fairly fair evaluation, since the two of them didn't have many opportunities to meet.

"What about strength?"

Otto asked.

"We've never fought each other, so I can't judge our strength."
