Summary:
Having unexpectedly transmigrated to the world of Hunter x Hunter, Jing Yang embarks on a journey to explore Nen abilities, all for three things: immortality, eternal life, and indestructibility.
Chapter 1 The ability to read
pain!
it hurts!
My head... my heart hurts so much!
Jing Yang gradually awoke from his unconsciousness, feeling as if he were immersed in a weightless ball of water. The sensation should have been warm and comforting, yet his heart was pounding wildly, as if it were about to burst. Numbly, Jing Yang sensed a strange aura emanating from him, a sensation that felt both scalding hot and bone-chillingly cold, trying to penetrate the deepest recesses of his heart…
Stop drilling! My heart is about to explode...
After an unknown amount of time, Jingyang suddenly opened his eyes. A sense of disillusionment washed over him as if he were waking from a dream. Then came the feeling of being bound by something, and the suffocating sensation of being crushed by layers of heavy objects… He struggled desperately, and dim light pierced through the gaps in the weights. Jingyang struggled even more violently, finally overturning all the weights off him, freeing himself from the restraints and the awkward posture. Though exhausted, he could now lie comfortably sprawled out on his back.
The sunset painted the sky, and the tall, tangled weeds filled Jingyang's view. He belatedly realized that he had ended up in such a desolate place.
If I remember correctly, I was stuck at home because of the pandemic and was so bored that I was cooking a bowl of rice and was about to look for something to read to kill time... I really didn't do anything to anyone, I was just a law-abiding citizen, so how did I end up here in the blink of an eye?
Jing Yang let out a long, frustrated breath, and as he took another deep breath, his eyes slowly changed—why was there such a strong smell of blood?
He suddenly sat up, but slipped and fell to the ground, his limbs weak and sore.
The face of a male corpse dressed in a suit appeared before him, the other's unfocused, dilated pupils meeting his gaze.
Jing Yang felt a chill run down his spine and straight to his head.
He looked around, and in the lush, towering weeds, he could vaguely see corpses strewn everywhere. He had just been buried under a pile of dead bodies! Scattered around these suit-clad corpses were bullet casings, pistols, and other such items… a gang shootout? Impossible! What era is this? Would any gangsters still dare to be this wild?
Jing Yang looked down again and saw a woman's corpse beneath the pile of bodies. She was wearing an ordinary gray trench coat, her eyes half-open, as if she had died with her life cut short. He wasn't a forensic doctor and couldn't tell how long the woman and the other men in suits had been dead, but he could see that the woman's stiff hand was tightly clutching a loose, empty swaddling cloth...
Jingyang's breathing quickened. He looked at his palm in disbelief, his gaze traveling upwards...
Like his hands, his arms and torso became incredibly thin and small, with skin so delicate that it didn't look like a nearly thirty-year-old man at all; he looked at most three or four years old!
Passed by yourself?
And it just crawled out of the swaddling clothes under the corpse?
Jing Yang's mind was in chaos. He just wanted to escape the pile of corpses as quickly as possible. He used his hands and feet, slipped several times, and his legs went weak. He squeezed through the tall and messy grass, trying to crawl out.
As he parted the tangled weeds once more, he inadvertently caught sight of a high slope not far away. At the top of the slope, a ferocious beast stood with its back to the setting sun. Its outline was indistinct, but its eyes emitted an eerie light, meeting his gaze from afar.
Jing Yang felt as if he had been doused with a bucket of ice water, and he was completely sobered up.
send!
Despair filled Jingyang's heart. He quietly released the tall grass he had parted and collapsed helplessly to the ground, hoping that the beast on the slope hadn't actually noticed him...
Then Jingyang turned his head and saw a section of a gray wolf's tail emerging from the grass, less than half a meter away from Jingyang's face.
Jing Yang held his breath and looked ahead following the tail, his heart sinking lower and lower. He saw a wolf weighing at least two hundred pounds gnawing on the corpse of another man in a black suit in the haystack, making sounds of chewing flesh and bones... Jing Yang couldn't believe it. Had he been deaf before? Had he not heard this at all?
Jingyang carefully moved back, staring intently at the back of the wolf that was eating.
Suddenly, the wolf stopped moving, and Jingyang was too frightened to move.
The wolf raised its hind leg and scratched its neck, then continued to bite. Jing Yang suppressed his breathing and moved back gently again... Then, he heard the sound he least wanted to hear: to his left and right, the sound of weeds being parted came from the ground. Before long, two wolves, their mouths full of blood, emerged from the ground, their green eyes glaring at Jing Yang.
Could things get any worse?
The wolf that had been silently eating just moments before suddenly stopped, turned around, licked its sharp teeth, and seemed to be grinning menacingly at Jing Yang.
...It definitely can!
Jing Yang suddenly understood. These three wild hunters of nature had always known of his existence!
Damn it, those three bastard dogs, are they trying to toy with their prey, or are they saving this tender piece of meat for last?
The three wolves, positioned in a pincer-like formation, pushed through the tall grass, strutting on all fours, letting out a low, defiant growl, and slowly approached Jingyang.
Jingyang kept retreating until he reached the initial pile of corpses, with no way to go any further.
As the three ferocious man-eating wolves drew ever closer, and the sense of impending death gripped Jing Yang, he felt his brain cells rapidly depleting and regenerating at an unprecedented rate. He racked his brains trying to find a way to survive, but no matter how far-fetched his ideas were, they all seemed impractical. He hadn't even figured out if he had transmigrated, and now he was about to be devoured by wolves again, or perhaps even become their next meal...
A soft strand of hair, typical of toddlers, drifted down in Jingyang's peripheral vision.
At some point, Jingyang gradually calmed down, sitting cross-legged against the pile of rocks, staring intently at the three wolves closing in on him. The bits of flesh between their teeth and the nauseating smell of blood were clearly visible...
The soft strands of hair were barely noticeable, yet moved on their own without any wind, slowly drifting towards the wolf in the middle.
On a level invisible to the naked eye, a ball of white life energy wrapped around the hair, gradually bending it into the shape of a pentagram, and finally quietly settled into the ear of the wolf in the center.
A flash of white light disappeared in an instant, and strands of hair quietly scattered and fell away, but a rose-gold pentagram pattern remained on the skin inside the wolf's ear.
Jingyang stared at "himself" in shock!
He stared in shock at the wolf in the middle opposite him, whose eyes revealed a shock similar to that of a human—was this also "himself"?!
Did I take over the wolf's body?
A series of questions flashed through Jing Yang's mind like an electric current, but he knew that there was no time left. He immediately controlled the body of the wolf in the middle, and without hesitation, he forcefully rammed the wolf on the left, then let out a low growl and pounced on the wolf on the right, launching a sneak attack! Jing Yang howled and bit down hard on the throat of the struggling wolf, and gushing blood spurted into his mouth.
Jing Yang couldn't care less about his mental block, because the other wolf that had been knocked away earlier was already attacking from behind. It slapped the back of the wolf that Jing Yang was controlling, and the bloody wound soaked the fur. Jing Yang grimaced. The pain was too real!
Jing Yang grabbed the wolf at his feet by the throat and yanked it off. Amidst the splattering blood, he turned around and began to fight the wolf that had ambushed him from behind.
But Jing Yang, a wolf who had only recently become a wolf, was no match for a professional wolf in hand-to-hand combat. Moreover, he was completely unfamiliar with the movement of a four-legged beast. The enemy wolf howled loudly as it wrestled, bit, and pounced on Jing Yang, gradually gaining the upper hand… Meanwhile, Jing Yang's true form, sitting cross-legged, watched all this with growing anxiety. If he lost this fight, the next victim would be his own several dozen pounds of tender, delicious meat!
One wolf, its throat severed, gradually stopped struggling, while the other two continued to wrestle. Jing Yang took a deep breath of the air thick with the stench of blood, enduring the piercing pain in his heart, forcing himself to calm down. Even if he didn't yet understand the true situation, he absolutely couldn't make a mistake now…
If I remember correctly, before I managed to control this wolf, successfully kill one, and restrain the other, I felt... as if my whole body was immersed in invisible water, and then this water enveloped a strand of my hair, and then... yes, it bent into the shape of a pentagram...
As Jing Yang pondered this, a drop of dark red blood that had rubbed against his skin drifted away, floating slowly before his eyes. His thoughts wavered, and the bloodline nearly fell to the ground. He quickly held his breath and focused, manipulating the bloodline towards the two wolves wrestling and fighting on the ground. In mid-air, the bloodline gradually folded into a pentagram shape under the control of a ball of white light.
As the pentagram bloodline drew closer, the wolf controlled by Jingyang, who was intentionally trying to defend and conserve its strength, howled fiercely despite the dozen or so bloody wounds on its body. It unleashed all the power within its wolf form, turning the tables and pinning its opponent to the ground. The wolf struggled desperately, trying its best not to expose its soft belly. Jingyang controlled the wolf to press down on it, using one paw to hold down the wolf's head and the other as a thumbtack, seizing the opportunity to rip out its tongue. At the same time, the thin pentagram bloodline controlled by Jingyang's main body, under the precise manipulation of the white light, landed precisely on the wolf's exposed tongue.
A flash of white light passed by, and Jing Yang's real body suddenly saw stars before his eyes, feeling weak and exhausted.
Wild Wolf Jingyang's pupils contracted, and the five-pointed star bloodline quickly dissipated on the enemy wolf's tongue, failing to leave the expected rose-gold five-pointed star pattern—he had failed!
Jing Yang gritted his teeth. This strange ability seemed to only consume "mana" the instant it was activated! With his thin arms and legs, the fact that his mana bar could withstand the consumption and he had successfully controlled one wolf was already a stroke of luck; he simply didn't have the strength to control a second one… Thinking this, the enemy wolf struggled desperately. Jing Yang, without time to think further, his eyes turning bloodshot, controlled the wolf to bite down. Sharp teeth pierced the wolf's throat, and blood gushed out with each spasm.
It seems that the defensive counter-attack strategy was correct after all... The wolf's struggle under its sharp teeth and claws was getting weaker and weaker, and Jing Yang breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he had at least controlled one wolf for his own use. Otherwise, with his small arms and legs after transmigrating, he would not have been able to defend or counter-attack. He would have just been giving the forensic doctor a hard time—he wouldn't even be able to piece together the corpse!
Soon, the wolf stopped struggling. Jing Yang felt a strange aura enter his heart, both cold and hot, and his heart clenched. He had just managed to stand up when he fell backward on his backside.
A congenital heart defect? Jing Yang's face paled, or perhaps... He clutched his chest, staring at the wolf carcass opposite him, torn apart and no longer moving. Was that eerie aura that pierced his heart caused by the wolf's death?
Recalling the excruciating heartache he felt before waking up, thinking it was all a dream, Jing Yang looked around at the corpses hidden among the towering weeds and suddenly understood the reason.
He stood there for a moment, then slowly exhaled a breath of stale air.
Anyway, I survived!
Jing Yang spat a mouthful of wolf fur, stepping on the wolf corpse to declare victory, but suddenly his expression changed drastically. The reason was that after his original self fell back into the pile of corpses, he inadvertently saw the swaddling clothes that the woman in the gray trench coat had refused to let go of until her death... Jing Yang had assumed that this woman was probably his birth mother after his transmigration, and that he had most likely died and been resurrected from this swaddling clothes, and then crawled out of it...
However, this tiny swaddling cloth is clearly meant for newborn babies.
Although his current body was thin and short, it was clearly the physique of a three- or four-year-old boy!
The wolf, controlled by Jing Yang, strolled to his side, turned its head, and looked at its new, pale self from an observer's perspective. The little creature, barely able to walk, was shorter than the adult wolf. It then looked at the swaddling clothes the woman, long dead, refused to let go of… Who was the original baby in those clothes, and where had it gone?
"Ouch————"
The howls of wolves grew louder and louder all around.
Chapter 2 Water Viewing Method
Hearing the howls of wolves coming from all directions, the wild wolf controlled by Jingyang suddenly bristled.
Is this ever going to end? Is there no way out for everyone?
Jingyang struggled to pull a black suit off a corpse, barely managed to roll onto the back of the wolf he was controlling, and draped the oversized suit over his body.
He held the wolf tightly, buried his head in his black suit, and focused on the wolf's gaze, blocking his own vision.
"Jinglang" took off running, leaping nimbly through piles of corpses, like a black arrow slicing through towering, dense weeds.
Swish!
The wolf's shadow darted through the dim light, quickly leaping out of the towering grass, its greenish eyes suddenly contracting.
With a thud, "Jinglang" landed on all fours, growling as it slowly slowed its pace. Jingyang, who had been bouncing around on the wolf's back, looked at the pack of wolves approaching from the left and right flanks through the perspective of the wolf he controlled.
A pair of wolf eyes gleamed with an eerie green light, like a swarm of approaching will-o'-the-wisps... It's creepy, a pack of wild wolfhounds, actually trying to encircle us, are they using military tactics?
"Jinglang" growled and retreated slowly, bracing the tense and menacing atmosphere of the approaching pack of wolves.
We need to delay this much longer...
If the main body can recover more strength, perhaps it can use the pentagram mark's strange superpower a few more times...
If I could successfully control a few more wolves, I might still have a chance to survive...
Jing Yang was truly exhausted. He had inexplicably transmigrated and become a little kid with a dangling penis, which was bad enough, but to open his eyes and find himself in a pile of corpses, being chased by a pack of wolves, was just unbearable. Couldn't he just stop and catch his breath? He didn't want to die a confused ghost.
At this point, the wolves, having seemingly exhausted their patience, howled at each other and pounced on Jingyang, the lone wolf...
Jing Yang took a deep breath and decisively shook his back and waist, controlling "Jing Lang".
The wolf raised its hind legs, pushing itself, which had slipped off the wolf's back, back into the tangled grass behind it.
"Jinglang" howled sharply and collided with the attacking wolf pack.
In an instant, it felt as if countless sharp claws were slamming down on my body, and countless sharp teeth were gnawing, biting, or chiseling at my legs, head, back, and waist...
Projecting his consciousness onto the wolf, Jing Yang could vividly feel the pain of being torn apart by the pack. Lying on the edge of the tall grassy nest, he quickly withdrew his consciousness from the wolf's body, no longer paying attention to the nearby wolf fight. Exhausted and numb, Jing Yang plucked a soft strand of hair from his head. Whether it would help or not, he couldn't just close his eyes and let these wretched dogs devour him; he had to at least struggle.
But soon, the sounds of biting and fighting ceased, replaced by uneasy howls in the deathly silence; the wolves seemed to have encountered something dangerous…
Jingyang struggled to sit up, carefully parted the haystack, and was dumbfounded by what he saw.
The wolf he had just controlled lay on the ground, covered in blood. Around it, the pack of wolves slowly retreated, all looking in the same direction—opposite them was the ferocious beast on the high slope that Jingyang had first spotted.
The pale moonlight made the approaching creature appear like a celestial beast.
