“He was incredibly unlucky,” Ron added. “He was practically laughing his head off when he saw us.”

"Alright, there's no point in saying all this now. Even if I gave you a chance, you wouldn't have been able to do it!" Aaron rolled his eyes, speechless. "I've done everything I could to help you. Now, whether you live or not..."

"Whether you live or die depends on whether you cooperate or not," Little Barty interrupted meaningfully. "That's also the main reason I didn't kill them."

“Uh…” Aaron blinked blankly. “Actually, they’re not that important to me. Why don’t you do it now? I’ll just ignore them and not be bothered.”

Chapter 501 The Prophecy of Defeating the Dark Lord, A Family That Produced a God of Magic

"Are you kidding me?" Little Barty said with amusement. "I can tell the difference between the living and the dead."

"Tsk! What a smart man!" Aaron exclaimed. "I'm curious why someone as smart as you would choose to become a Death Eater, even at the cost of killing your own father."

A graduate with twelve certificates is undoubtedly a genius, and with a father holding a high position in the Ministry of Magic, his future seems incredibly bright...

“Shut up,” Barty Jr. roared. “Don’t mention him to me, Barty Crouch. He’s not a father at all.”

He disregarded everything for the sake of power; I have never seen anyone as selfish as him.

But my master was different. He knew what I craved, and he gave me everything I wanted.

Since I joined the Dark Lord, my life has changed dramatically; I can do whatever I want.

“Oh!” A hint of pity appeared in Aaron’s eyes. “To put it bluntly, it’s like a perverted person who lacks family love meeting a madman who allows you to unleash your true nature.”

"Insolence!" Bella cursed, casting a spell at Aaron.

boom!

Her spell was shattered by a white light before it could reach Aaron; it was Barty Crouch Jr. who stopped her.

"what are you doing?"

"Don't rush to do it, the master will be here soon."

If Mr. Gaius cooperates well, he will be a distinguished guest of the host; if he doesn't know what's good for him, then it's not too late to take action.

"You're right."

A chilling voice rang out, and Voldemort appeared before them in the blink of an eye.

He wore a black wizard's robe and a hood, his face was pale and haggard like a snake, and his pupils emitted a faint red glow.

The Death Eaters bowed deeply in unison, with utmost reverence.

Harry and his friends couldn't help but shudder; the living Dark Lord was still very intimidating.

“Apparition.” Aaron clicked his tongue. “Powerful wizards can indeed ignore anti-apparition spells.”

"You can do that in the future, can't you?"

"Of course, I have no doubt about that."

“Master,” Lucius said, cradling the dusty glass ball in his palm, “the Prophecy Ball.”

“You did a good job, Malfoy.”

Not only did they get the prophecy orb, they also kept Mr. Gaius with them.

“It was Master who foresaw this.” Lucius bowed even lower. “I only delayed him a little. If Crouch hadn’t arrived in time, he probably would have gotten away.”

“I know.” Voldemort chuckled and glanced at Harry. “I saw everything in his mind. It’s quite an achievement that you managed to hold out until Barty Jr. came.”

Voldemort picked up the prophecy orb, and the dull gray glass ball began to shimmer with a blue-white light:

The one capable of defeating the Dark Lord is approaching, born into a family that has resisted him three times, born at the end of July... The Dark Lord will mark him as his formidable rival, but he will possess powers unknown to the Dark Lord... One of them must die at the hands of the other, for neither can live; only one can survive...

Harry and the others stared blankly, as if they had heard something incredible and couldn't react for a long time.

Aaron's pupils also contracted slightly, but the look of shock quickly disappeared.

He doesn't believe in fate, whether it's good or bad.

The Death Eaters lowered their heads, but all of them fixed their cold gazes on Harry Potter. Barty Jr. even drew his wand, eager to eliminate this threat immediately.

But they all tacitly refrained from making a move, since the Dark Lord hadn't given the order yet!

Voldemort was silent for a moment, then burst into laughter.

"So that's how it is, so that's how it is."

"No wonder Dumbledore has been protecting you; he must know the prophecy." Voldemort looked at Harry with a cold, amused gaze. "It's ridiculous, laughable, utterly absurd."

I originally thought my biggest rival would be Dumbledore, but now it seems I overestimated him. I never imagined he would place his hopes on a bastard I could crush with a flick of my wrist.

“A mongrel?” Harry suppressed his nervousness. “If I’m a mongrel, then what are you?”

At least my parents were wizards, while your father seems to be... just a Muggle!

“Shut up!” Bella screamed. “How dare you… how dare you… you filthy beast…”

Only a few Death Eaters knew about Voldemort's origins, but it was a taboo subject that no one dared to mention. Yet Harry Potter didn't shy away from it at all.

If you're not afraid of death, fine, but you absolutely cannot drag us down with you.

“Bella.” Voldemort glared at her expressionlessly.

Bella froze. "Master, please allow me to kill him. Every second this beast lives is a desecration of you."

"Alright, I appreciate your loyalty, but he cannot die now." Voldemort took out his wand and tapped the prophecy orb lightly, which immediately turned into dust and vanished.

"You're scared, aren't you?" Harry asked, mustering his courage. "Scared of this prophecy?"

“How naive, Potter,” Voldemort sneered. “In truth, my only enemy from beginning to end has been Dumbledore. Though I hate to admit it, he is indeed powerful.”

The White Demon King, the greatest wizard of this century. Even I'm not entirely confident I could face him head-on, but your existence has given me hope that it's possible to kill him.

Gulu!

Harry swallowed hard, a sense of indescribable panic spreading rapidly through his heart.

“He’s poured most of his energy into you, so he won’t give up easily,” Voldemort continued. “Harry, you will be my sharpest weapon against Dumbledore.”

puff!

As if a sharp blade had pierced his heart, Harry instantly broke down and shouted, "You can forget about it!"

“No, this is reality.” Voldemort stared at him with his bloodshot eyes and said, “A wizard’s talent determines the upper limit of what he can achieve. Even if you were given a lifetime, you would never be my match. Besides, you are a prisoner now. This prophecy is actually no threat to me.”

But in some ways it is invaluable because it provided me with an excellent weapon.

With the White Lord dead, the Death Eaters' power will expand rapidly, and my goal of becoming a god can be achieved sooner.

Upon hearing this, Harry's heart skipped a beat.

He wanted to refute it, but inexplicably felt that what Voldemort said seemed to be true, and that Dumbledore was paying too much attention to him.

He has put his companions in danger more than once, but these young wizards are no match for Dumbledore. If they were to implicate Dumbledore, the situation in the wizarding world would be greatly affected, and his sins would be immense.

“You won’t succeed, never,” Harry said angrily. “Even if I die here today, someone will defeat you someday. That unrealistic fantasy will never come true.”

"This is the only way you can hide your guilty conscience now, Harry."

"But don't worry, I won't kill you. You'll be safe until Dumbledore dies," Voldemort said calmly. "Also, I should thank you properly."

Not only did it bring me an interesting prophecy, but it also brought me Mr. Gaius, who is the key to realizing my dreams.

"It's been a year since we last saw each other, Aaron?"

"Pretty much, but I never expected that I would stumble on an accident."

"If Barty had arrived three seconds later, I might have escaped unscathed."

"Looks like I'm pretty lucky. It wasn't easy to trick you into coming here!" Voldemort said meaningfully. "If you hadn't gotten involved, I really wouldn't have been able to do anything with you, but now that you're here, things are quite different."

Aaron sighed and nodded, without denying it.

By actively getting involved in the magical world's disputes, he is now just a nobody wizard with no background according to family rules. Before the disputes are over, the family will not give him any protection or help. At most, they will collect his body after he dies.

"Why did you go to such lengths to trick me into coming here?"

"Is it related to your deeper identity?"

"What's his identity? The heir of a reclusive family?" Aaron said thoughtfully. "That's nothing, is it? The Gaius family is at most a bit more powerful than a pure-blood family."

"Some?"

Voldemort's lips curled into a smile, as if he had heard the funniest joke in the world, and then he pointed his wand at Neville.

"Why is it me again?" Neville's lips twitched, feeling so frustrated he felt like he was going to vomit blood.

"Then let's choose another one."

As he spoke, Voldemort pointed his wand at Ron, and before Ron could react, he heard the very familiar spell, 'Crucible'.

"what!"

Ron let out a piercing scream, writhing on the ground in pain, tears streaming uncontrollably down his face.

"Stop! Stop it!" Ginny shouted, her heart aching as she watched her brother being tortured.

"Expelliarmus."

Harry waved his wand directly, but Voldemort simply flicked his sleeve and sent him flying backward.

"What exactly do you want?" Harry shouted angrily.

Voldemort slowly stopped, looking at Aaron meaningfully, "Give someone a little warning."

Aaron instinctively clutched his chest, forcing a weak smile. "If I didn't cooperate, I'd be the one lying on the ground!"

"What do you think? Your family isn't coming to rescue you this time."

“That’s true.” Aaron pulled up his sleeve and saw that the World Tree mark on his left arm had turned gray. He couldn’t help but laugh self-deprecatingly. “They used to follow me around all the time, and I couldn’t shake them off, but now… I shouldn’t have come here.”

“Tell me what I want to know, and you’ll be fine.”

"What do you want to know?" Aaron asked, looking up.

“The Gaius family…” Voldemort paused, a hint of unease creeping into his serious tone, “…had gods appeared there, right?”

After he finished speaking, the entire room fell silent.

Almost everyone instinctively looked at Aaron, their eyes filled with utter astonishment and disbelief.
