"Just kidding, don't take it seriously."
Aaron pursed his lips, then started counting on his fingers, "Potions, History of Magic, Astronomy, Divination, Protecting Magical Creatures, Muggle Studies, six courses left."
"What about arithmetic and divination?" the thought-provoking body asked. "I've memorized all the textbooks. You're saying you won't test it?"
"Plans can't keep up with changes!" Aaron waved his hand sheepishly. "Hogwarts doesn't have such high requirements for professors. You can become a teacher even if you don't take arithmetic or divination exams."
I'm quite confident in my Defense Against the Dark Arts grades; I'm absolutely certain I'll be able to take more advanced courses in sixth or seventh grade.
"Alright, you arrange it, I'll do whatever you want." The Memory Body said helplessly, then placed a sharp bullet on the stone table. "A sniper rifle bullet, enchanted four times."
"Oh hoo!"
Aaron raised an eyebrow and picked up the bullet to examine it closely.
"This thing is good, but we won't need it for the time being. Dealing with enemies thousands of meters away is really not suitable for wizards right now."
The shrug said, "I'll need it sooner or later."
Chapter 490 Divination Scenes, Umbridge's Moral Bottom Line
The theoretical exam for Potions class consisted of several potion recipes, preparation steps, and effects—essentially identical to what Professor Snape wrote on the blackboard during class.
Aaron picked up his pen and started writing. He would be doing a disservice to his photographic memory if he didn't get full marks on this test.
Those students who were more mischievous in Potions class were in a bad situation, like Harry and Ron, who had given up all hope of passing the theory exam.
The afternoon's practical session naturally involved preparing magic potions, which was overseen by Professor Machiban, the examiner.
Except for Seamus's cauldron, which exploded, everyone else's potions were prepared before the exam time ended.
Hagrid toned down the Magical Creatures Protection class exam considerably, refraining from bringing out large predators and instead assigning them less dangerous practical tasks such as distinguishing between hedgehogs and porcupines and feeding unicorns.
The astronomy and divination exams were scheduled for the same day. The practical divination class took place in the afternoon, where the examiners had each of them perform divination using a crystal ball. If there was no result, they could also interpret the tea leaves.
Harry and Ron quoted Professor Trelawney verbatim, but to the examiner, this was no different from cursing her outright.
When it was Aaron's turn, a smile unconsciously appeared on his face; he still had some confidence in the crystal ball divination.
A familiar little house appeared in the hazy crystal ball. Several people surrounded a huge figure, forcing him to flee in panic. A thin figure joined in the attack. Then, several red lights appeared in the crystal ball, interrupting his divination.
"What did you see, Mr. Gaius?" the examiner asked.
"Uh... Professor Hagrid was surrounded and fled Hogwarts."
Upon hearing this, the examiner's pupils contracted slightly, and he silently wrote a few lines on the writing board.
"When...did you see this scene?"
The examiner's voice carried a hint of respect. As a professional examiner, he could naturally see that Aaron's divination abilities were worlds apart from the other students, and that he might become a renowned diviner in the future.
“I’m not sure, but it should be nighttime,” Aaron said thoughtfully. “There were some more scenes after that, but I didn’t see them clearly.”
"That's remarkable, especially at the age of fifteen or sixteen."
I assure you you will get a perfect score of 0 in divination; very few people have achieved that in previous exams.
Aaron nodded and left the examination room in silence.
He believes there's a 70% chance the future he saw in the crystal ball is real, and Umbridge might actually send someone to capture Hagrid, since he'll be pretty useless as a professor of magical creature conservation after the exams.
It's probably going to happen in the next few days. She'll probably make her move as soon as these examiners leave. Looks like I need to tell him to leave Hogwarts in advance to avoid the limelight.
After dinner, the fifth-year wizards went to the top of the Astronomy Tower.
After everyone had set up their telescopes, Professor Toford, the examiner, distributed blank star charts and asked them to fill in the exact positions of stars and planets.
As time passed, the lights in the castle windows went out one by one.
Aaron had just put down his pen when he noticed several dark figures appear outside the castle. They moved quickly and disappeared into the darkness in the blink of an eye.
"Ahem!" Professor Toford coughed. "Concentrate, this is the OWLs exam."
“I’ve finished writing it.” Aaron handed over the star chart. “I wonder if I can use the telescope now?”
Professor Topherdy glanced at Aaron's star chart and couldn't help but smile with satisfaction. "That's good."
Just then, a roar came from afar, followed by a loud banging on the door.
Aaron immediately pointed his telescope in the direction from which the sound came, and soon locked onto Hagrid's cabin.
In the pale yellow light, a huge figure was surrounded by six or seven people who were casting red stun spells at him.
"What the hell!" Aaron cursed under his breath. He was too young and had seriously underestimated Umbridge's moral bottom line and overestimated her patience.
The Magical Creatures Protection class exam just ended yesterday, and today she's already brought people to arrest Hagrid. She's incredibly ruthless.
The others also noticed the commotion in the cabin and turned around to observe it with their telescopes.
"This is an exam!" Professor Toford said anxiously. "You don't have much time left."
Some students realized what was happening and suppressed their curiosity to continue observing the celestial phenomena, while others, like Harry and Hermione, who were more concerned about Hagrid, focused their attention on the hut.
Hagrid is quite powerful; his half-giant blood not only gives him a huge body but also a certain level of magic resistance.
The Stun Curse had little effect on him; it didn't immediately put him into a coma, but it would still cause pain.
Hagrid roared angrily, grabbed one of the attackers, and threw him several meters away.
But the others were still attacking with stun spells, and if this continued, Hagrid wouldn't last much longer.
The students who witnessed this scene couldn't help but gasp, partly because they were amazed by Hagrid's fighting prowess, and partly because they were worried about his future situation.
"I've never seen anything so shameless," Aaron sneered. "Professor, what happened to our Ministry of Magic?"
“This is only temporary,” Professor Toford said thoughtfully, “but your exams are what truly determine your future.”
"What a wise man!" Aaron exclaimed, then drew his wand. "I've finished my work, can I leave now?"
"What do you want to do?" Professor Toford's expression changed slightly, and he immediately stopped him, saying, "I can't let you out. You're just a student, and getting involved in this won't do you any good."
"We can't just stand by and watch them arrest an innocent person!"
“Look!” Parvati screamed.
The castle gates were opened again, and a long, dark figure moved quickly across the lawn.
“Minerva.” Professor Toford breathed a sigh of relief. “Alright, child, put down your wand. Your vice-principal is more than capable of handling this.”
"That's not necessarily true." Aaron remained unmoved. He hadn't seen the result on the crystal ball, so who knew whether it was good or bad.
Professor McGonagall joined the fray, but instead of immediately taking action, she loudly berated them, trying to stop them.
But within seconds, several beams of red light struck her, and Professor McGonagall was sent flying, landing heavily on the lawn.
"what!"
Several female students couldn't help but scream, incredulous that they had actually attacked the vice principal.
Professor TOEFL was shocked and, no longer bothering to persuade the student to continue the exam, exclaimed, "This is outrageous! It's utterly shameless!"
Poor Professor McGonagall never expected them to attack so suddenly; she was completely unprepared.
Hagrid instantly flew into a rage and launched an attack, holding his own for a time based solely on his physical prowess.
"Professor," Aaron raised his black wand, "may I leave now?"
“This…” Professor Toford hesitated for a moment, “I know you’re anxious, but neither Minerva nor Hagrid would want to see you leave the exam room.”
"Alright, I won't leave the examination hall." Aaron smiled slightly, then pointed his wand at the area below the tower, "Flock of birds."
A flock of black birds flew out from the tip of the wand and rushed towards Umbridge and the others who were besieging Hagrid.
Their appearance disrupted the attack rhythm of Umbridge and the others, and Hagrid's pressure was greatly reduced.
Although he was a bit simple-minded, he wasn't an idiot, so he naturally wouldn't miss this opportunity. He immediately picked up the unconscious Ya Ya and rushed out the door at full speed.
Umbridge watched helplessly as he left, left only in a state of powerless rage.
Aaron put away his wand, then noticed that everyone in the tower was staring at him. "What did you just see?"
Everyone paused for a moment, then shook their heads in unison.
“Very good.” Aaron said with satisfaction, then looked at the examiner, “Professor, I know it’s a bit unreasonable to say this, but since there was an unexpected event during the exam, the time wasted due to the unexpected event should be compensated to the examinee.”
"so?"
"Extending the exam time by ten minutes isn't unreasonable, is it?"
Professor Toford silently calculated that everything that had just happened had occurred within fifteen minutes, but ten minutes was also acceptable.
"We can make an exception this time."
“Thank you.” Aaron breathed a slight sigh of relief, then summoned his guardian spirit, a raven radiating white light that shone brightly in the night sky. “Go tell Madam Pomfrey what happened here.”
The raven nodded, spread its wings, and flew towards the school hospital on the second floor of the castle.
Before long, Mrs. Pomfrey arrived at the castle with two staff members, placed the unconscious Professor McGonagall on a stretcher, and then returned.
After the astronomy exam, the students gathered together to discuss what had just happened.
"You did a very good job," Professor Toford said approvingly. "You considered the big picture, especially that physical guardian spirit; you actually managed to get it to transmit messages."
“We can’t just leave Professor McGonagall lying on the grass. She’s quite old now, and being hit by five or six Stunning Charms will probably take her a while to recover,” Aaron said helplessly. “Professor, it’s getting late. I’d better go back and rest. I have two exams tomorrow!”
Back in his dorm, Aaron went straight to bed.
While others were worried about what happened tonight, he felt a sense of relief.
As the saying goes, it's not the thief you should fear, but the one who has his eye on you. Although Umbridge's surprise visit to arrest him tonight caught him off guard, now that Hagrid has escaped, he no longer needs to live in constant fear of being fired.
The next morning, after breakfast, Aaron began his Muggle Studies exam.
Not many people sign up for this elective course, and the exam is relatively simple. It's a two-hour written test on common knowledge about the Muggle world, and there's no need for any practical skills.
The last exam was at 2 PM, History of Magic, a purely theoretical exam that required no technical skills, but it was the most demanding test of memory.
The students entered the auditorium and sat down with practiced ease.
"Please turn the exam paper over." Professor Marchban flipped the hourglass. "Let the exam begin."
The sound of quills writing was particularly clear in the quiet classroom. The students couldn't say they knew everything about the history of the magical world, major events, and the signing of various legal articles, but they could always find the ones they knew how to do among dozens of questions.
When less than half the sand remained in the hourglass, Harry suddenly cried out in pain, then clutched his scar and collapsed to the floor.
The students all turned their attention to him, some screaming, others accidentally falling to the ground.
