"Huh?" Hermione paused for a moment, then said uncertainly, "I can only say I'll do my best."
"Then I'll reluctantly agree."
"That's wonderful!" Hagrid cried with joy. "I'll go wake him up; you two need to get to know each other."
"Glopp." Hagrid picked up a long branch and poked the giant's back. "Glopp, I'm down there, you big idiot."
Upon hearing the sound, the giant swayed and slowly stood up, causing the earth to tremble slightly with his movement.
He let out a huge roar, and all the birds around him flew away in fear.
Aaron looked up and stared at the giant. It had an unbelievably large face, a thick, short nose, and a crooked mouth filled with crooked, yellow teeth.
After Grop climbed out, he stretched out his huge hand and reached up the tree, seemingly checking if there were any birds in the nests.
"Damn it! I agreed too soon." Aaron regretted it inwardly. In his opinion, apart from being stronger than the troll, Grop didn't seem to be much different in other aspects.
Hermione trembled slightly, and her right hand unconsciously gripped Aaron's arm tightly.
"Don't be nervous," Aaron said softly. "It's not like we haven't seen bigger ones before. Think of Cerberus; giants aren't that bad after all."
"You're so good at comforting people," Hermione said, on the verge of tears.
"There's nothing to be afraid of, I'm still here."
Hearing this, Hermione's eyes lit up. "You mean you'll protect me?"
"Heh! You underestimate me. Do you think I'd protect you in a small situation?"
Hermione paused for a moment, then shook off Aaron's arm. "You're such a straight man."
Aaron: ......
This is really a small matter!
"Glopp," Hagrid called patiently from below, "I've brought some men to see you. They'll take care of you while I'm gone, understand?"
Grop ignored him, as he was in a bad mood because he hadn't found the bird. He started struggling with the tree that had tied him to it, grabbing the top and pulling it out.
“No, Grop, you can’t do that,” Hagrid shouted, then poked Grop’s knee with the branch in his hand.
Grop seemed to snap out of his daze and looked down at Hagrid.
“This is Aaron,” Hagrid said, walking up to Aaron and Hermione. “Aaron Gaius, and this is Hermione… oh, no.”
Before he could finish speaking, Gropp sped up and rushed over, grabbing straight at Hermione with one hand.
"Ah!" Hermione was stunned and screamed on the spot, trembling.
Aaron acted swiftly and pulled her behind him.
“Abe”.
Abe, who had been squatting nearby, received his master's command and let out a deafening roar.
"Roar!"
A white light suddenly illuminated an area of tens of meters around the dragon, which flapped its wings and slowly rose off the ground.
Its entire body radiated a blue-white light, exuding both holiness and majesty.
Gulu!
The sound of swallowing saliva was particularly clear, and Hermione and Hagrid watched this scene in shock.
They had never seen such a beautiful dragon; even the Australian white-eyed dragon was probably not even a tenth as beautiful.
The dragon took a deep breath, its white breath spraying onto Grop as a silent mockery: Little one.
The previously aggressive giant suddenly collapsed to the ground. This wasn't just a matter of being unable to play the game; it was a genuine case of being unable to play the game.
The dragon was more than twice his size, and even taller than the giants who often bullied him in the tribe. He didn't feel any desire to fight back.
"This, this, this..." Hermione stammered, "Arbele, I don't remember it being this big!"
"How fresh!" Aaron said, both amused and exasperated. "The last time you saw it change was a few years ago, right? Surely my dragon cub hasn't changed at all in a few years!"
He's no longer a cub; he's a fully grown young dragon.
"A baby dragon?" Hermione's eyes widened in astonishment, and she said in disbelief, "This is a baby dragon? How big will it grow when it's an adult?"
"Uh... I'm not sure, but I'm sure I can keep it as a cat forever."
And it's definitely capable of handling small situations like this.
Hermione's lips twitched; she knew Aaron was explaining what he had said earlier, but she still felt uncomfortable.
"It's so beautiful!" Hagrid exclaimed sincerely. "I've never seen such a beautiful creature. Unicorns and Veelas pale in comparison."
"Hagrid, let's get back to the main topic, shall we?"
I think your brother won't be so impulsive now.
Hagrid realized what was happening, smiled sheepishly, and then looked at Grop sitting on the ground.
"Glopp, you're not allowed to grab people randomly, that's impolite."
They'll be visiting you in my place from now on; they'll be your new friends.
Gropp nodded, seemingly understanding, then nervously pointed at Abbe, "It...it..."
"What do you mean?" Aaron asked, puzzled.
Hagrid hesitated for a moment. "Glopp is asking if Abe is a friend."
"Barely... I guess so!"
“Great, he wants to sit on it and try it out.”
Abe let out a deep voice, and then a dragon claw pushed Grop back.
"Uh...not now, Abe is breaking off all ties with him."
......
On the way back, Hagrid's worries largely disappeared.
Since Grop can't beat Abe, he won't have the ability to harm Aaron and the others, so he doesn't need to worry about their safety.
Hermione felt much more relaxed, holding the shrunken Abbey in her arms. The overwhelming sense of security made her feel that the Forbidden Forest wasn't so dangerous anymore, and she could come and go as she pleased.
With such a giant protecting them, they could handle not only one giant, but even another one.
"Wait!" Aaron's ears twitched slightly. "Someone's coming. No, those footsteps... it's centaurs. A group of centaurs is approaching quickly."
Hagrid immediately picked up his crossbow and became alert.
Hermione also picked up her wand, but her face was full of doubt. "Melodigos shouldn't be enemies, right?"
"That was how it used to be, but it's hard to say now."
Ferrenze worked for Dumbledore, teaching his students astrology, a uniquely Centaur practice, which they found rebellious. If I hadn't arrived in time, Ferrenze might have been trampled to death by them.
Coupled with Umbridge and the Ministry of Magic's attitude towards centaurs, we became unwelcome to them.
“Absolutely right.” A deep voice came from the side, followed by four or five centaurs. “This forest does not welcome you.”
“Hello, Margaret,” Hagrid said warily.
“Let’s go now,” Aaron said immediately.
“I didn’t say you weren’t welcome, sir,” said one of the centaurs behind Margaret. “The Gaius are special. The stars have told us that you saved the centaurs and are their friend.”
"Holy crap! You could even tell that?" Aaron blurted out instinctively, genuinely shocked. He never imagined that the centaurs could understand events happening in another world through astrology.
"You even saved centaurs?" Hermione asked, bewildered.
“Last summer, I happened to run into some centaurs in trouble while traveling, so I just helped them out,” Aaron said, half-jokingly. Then he straightened up and looked at the centaurs. “Then please give me some face and don’t make things so tense. You know Hagrid; there might be some misunderstanding.”
“I’m afraid that won’t work,” Margaret said calmly. “You have done us a great favor to the centaurs, which we will always remember and are extremely grateful for. We will give you the respect and necessary assistance you need.”
But Hagrid is a different matter. We've already discussed it, and we won't allow him to appear in this forest again.
"Just because I stopped you from killing Ferenze?" Hagrid said angrily.
“He should not spread our knowledge and secrets among humans; it is a disgrace,” said Bain, the centaur. “Our customs and laws are different from those of humans, and Ferenze has betrayed and insulted us.”
Aaron and Hermione exchanged a glance, speechless.
It sounds like Professor Frenzer really did wrong the centaurs, and I wonder how Dumbledore managed to persuade him.
“Hagrid, we warned you, but you still trespassed into our woods.”
"Your forest?" Hagrid shouted angrily. "This is not your forest, and it's none of your business who comes and who goes."
“But it’s not up to you to decide,” Margaret said. “We’re letting you off this time because you have cubs with you.”
“It’s not his.” Bane looked coldly at Hermione. “She’s a Hogwarts student. She’s probably already benefited from the teachings of that traitor, Frenzer.”
“I didn’t,” Hermione said immediately. “My elective was Divination, which has nothing to do with Ferrenze.”
Bain paused, a hint of embarrassment flashing across his face.
“Alright, harming cubs is a terrible sin, we cannot harm the innocent,” Margaret said. “Hagrid, never come to this place again.”
"I'm not going to stop coming to the woods just because of a few words from you," Hagrid said, cursing.
“We know what you’ve been keeping in the woods, and our patience is almost up.”
"Then let's be patient a little longer!" Aaron said helplessly. "We just promised to take good care of that creature while he's away."
"A living thing?" Hagrid paused, "That's not a very appropriate way to put it!"
“It sounds better than saying giants,” Hermione said with difficulty.
The centaurs looked at each other, but Margaret stepped forward and said, "If this is your request, we can agree, but he cannot leave that area."
Chapter 489 OWLs Exam, isn't that something anyone can do?
By the time they returned from the Forbidden Forest, the game was over, and unsurprisingly, Gryffindor had won.
Harry managed to snatch the Golden Snitch, but surprisingly Ron's performance was also lackluster. Although he started off terribly, he eventually found his footing as a goalkeeper and defended against most of Ravenclaw's attacks.
"Should I tell them about Gropp?" Hermione asked hesitantly. "If I teach a giant a language class, they'll think I'm crazy."
“Tell them!” Aaron said with a hint of helplessness. “The three of you have always shared both good times and bad, so it’s only natural that they help you with this trouble.”
