Hagrid had just named the dragon when his Norber sneezed, and a burst of dragonfire shot from its nose, burning off a large patch of Hagrid's thick beard.
Chapter 52 Accidentally Turned Around a Magical Animal
Hagrid kept patting his beard to extinguish the sparks.
The burst of dragonfire came somewhat unexpectedly, but Hagrid's gaze toward Norber remained full of affection. "Of course, it still needs some training."
Norber coughed a few times, exhaling black smoke mixed with sparks from his mouth.

Suddenly, a strange sound came from inside the cabin.
"What was that sound?" Hermione frowned. "Hagrid, what other magical creatures do you keep?"
"That's all, really, that's all."
Although I would like to raise more, Hogwarts does not allow it.
Besides, incubating Norbert consumed most of my energy.
“But what’s with that sound?” Ron asked, puzzled. “It’s like an eggshell cracking, and it’s cracking really frequently.”
“I think I know what’s going on.” Harry held up his index finger, pointing in surprise to the other side of the table.
Abe, who had woken up at some point, was chewing on a broken eggshell, eating slowly and seemingly with great relish.
For Abe, the quality of these eggshells was incomparable to its essence; they contained almost no magic and had little nutritional value.
But even a small mosquito is still meat!
The eggshells from when a baby dragon is first born are a decent snack for it during its juvenile stage.
Crunchy and delicious, tastes like chicken leg.
"What?" Hermione's eyes widened. "Didn't you say it was foolproof? What's going on here?"
“How should I know?” Ron was also surprised, but he still explained, “Our plan should be fine. You can ask Harry if you don’t believe me.”
Even if I'm careless and make a mistake, he'll be my second safety net.
Harry seemed to remember something, placed a small purple bottle on the table, and then glared at Hagrid with a hint of reproach. "Hagrid, is the sleeping pill you gave me expired?"
“That’s impossible.” Hagrid picked up the sleeping pills and patiently explained, “I won’t allow myself to make any mistakes when it comes to anything for animals.”
In other words, there won't be any expired medicines in my cabin.
Could it be that you added too little?
The three looked at each other, wishing they had made such a basic mistake, but the reality was quite the opposite.
"Hagrid, those two idiots added six drops of sleeping pills to Abe's head."
If this is considered a small amount, then we really don't know how much to add. We can't possibly put the whole bottle in!
"Six drops?" Hagrid stared in astonishment at Harry and Ron, who were looking down guiltily. "Are you two crazy?"
Even a lion, tiger, or elephant can be paralyzed with just one drop.
Even for a magical creature like Norber, five drops would be enough for a baby to take a nap.
"You're using six drops to bully a cat? Do you think it's more powerful than a dragon?"
"Actually, it really was an accident," Harry said weakly. "Besides, Abel is still perfectly fine, isn't he?"
Hagrid paused, turned to look at Abe who was gnawing on an eggshell, then looked more closely at the small purple bottle, momentarily at a loss for words. "This can't be!"
Ron breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this. "I knew it! The sleeping pills must have expired."
"What nonsense are you talking about? I spent a lot of money to get this, and it still has three years left on its shelf life!"
"Then how do you explain this?"
"If you can't even handle one cat, I seriously suspect Hagrid, you've been scammed."
“I can’t be wrong.” Hagrid shook his head, a glint of light flashing in his eyes. “There’s only one possibility right now: Abe isn’t a cat.”
I was initially just a little skeptical, but now I'm 100% certain.
Abe is absolutely a magical creature, and of exceptional quality, perhaps even comparable to dragons and phoenixes.
Gulu!
Upon hearing this, Harry, Ron, and Hermione all swallowed hard.
They initially thought they were only going to 'steal' a cat, so they weren't under too much pressure. At most, they considered it a prank between classmates, as long as they weren't discovered.
But now there's been a complete reversal, they've kidnapped a magical creature, isn't that a bit too much of a shock?
If the people in the Department of Fantastic Beasts Control found out about these three...
No, there are four of them, including Hagrid. The four of them might get invited to the Ministry of Magic for a chat.
Draco, standing outside the cabin, was also shocked. He was even somewhat glad that he had stayed there tonight, risking being caught by Filch.
Finding evidence of Granger's 'betrayal' was already a great achievement, but who knew we'd also witness a dragon hatching? It was an unexpected bonus, a buy-one-get-one-free deal!
Even if Draco Malfoy were captured by Filch, it would still be worth it if all four Gryffindors were caught in one fell swoop.
But to everyone's surprise, there was a surprise at the end: Abe wasn't a cat at all, but a magical creature comparable to a dragon and a phoenix.
But thinking about it carefully, it makes perfect sense. After all, Abe's behavior is nothing like that of a cat. It's too smart, too cute, and too human-like.
If a cat like that were for sale, he would definitely buy one.
Hopefully Crabbe and Gore can get here soon. This show is exciting, but Aaron's absence is a bit of a letdown.
Inside the cabin, Ron stammered, "Hagrid, you're not kidding, are you?"
"A joke?" Hagrid smiled knowingly. "Have you ever seen a cat eat an eggshell? Or a dragon's eggshell?"
Ron's expression froze; the facts were right in front of him, leaving him no choice but to believe them.
“So what do we do now?” Harry asked. “This is a magical creature, not an ordinary cat. Hagrid, are you still going to watch it?”
"Of course I'll watch it."
Arbe is likely a magical creature yet to be discovered in the magical world, making it very worthwhile to observe it.
“But Abe is awake now, not asleep.”
"We can't just grab it ourselves!" Hermione frowned with concern. "What if we hurt it? How am I supposed to explain that to Aaron?"
“Hermione,” Hagrid took a deep breath and said patiently, “I’ve always considered magical creatures as friends, and I promise I won’t hurt it.”
With that, Hagrid stood up, grabbed the umbrella containing his wand that he had placed to the side, and carefully walked toward Abbe, ignoring Norbert who was crying for food on the table.
But the next moment, Hermione spread her arms and blocked his way, raising her head to meet his gaze defiantly. "No, I can't let you do that."
"why?"
“I brought Abe here, and I have a responsibility to protect it.”
Hagrid was taken aback, then chuckled and scratched his head, "I wouldn't bear to hurt it either."
Hermione, I'm really curious about Abel.
You know how much I love magical creatures. I just want to observe it up close, is that not allowed?
"this..."
"Don't forget, you promised me."
"You won't go back on your word, will you?"
Hermione bit her lip, feeling conflicted and somewhat regretful for getting on Harry and Ron's bandwagon.
Hagrid told them about the people involved in protecting the Philosopher's Stone, and they naturally had to reciprocate by meeting his conditions.
This wouldn't have been a problem in itself. Hagrid was a kind and honest giant, and a good friend of theirs. His character was absolutely trustworthy.
The problem is that Abe's identity is far from simple. Given Hagrid's love for magical creatures, who knows what he might do? The fact that he dared to break school rules and secretly keep a Norwegian Ridgeback at school is enough to tell us the story.
If he gets carried away, he might go straight to Aaron, and then everything will be exposed, which will likely cause a major rift in their relationship.
Seemingly sensing Hermione's predicament, Hagrid turned to Harry and Ron with a hint of helplessness, hoping the two Gryffindors could put in a good word for him.
However, the two of them looked up at the ceiling in perfect unison, pretending they hadn't seen anything.
What a joke! They just don't like studying, but their IQ and EQ are both quite high.
Helping anyone in this situation won't help; staying out of it is the best option.
“Alright, Hermione.” Hagrid put down his umbrella. “I admit I like magical creatures, but you are also my favorite Gryffindors.”
Since you're unwilling, I won't make things difficult for you.
"Thank you." Hermione breathed a sigh of relief, then looked at Hagrid with some shame. "I'm sorry I made you happy for nothing."
Hagrid smiled and said, "There's nothing to apologize for."
I'm so lucky tonight. Norbert was born, and it's been confirmed that Arbe is a magical creature.
"I'll try to talk to Aaron about getting closer to it later, and you'll have to put in a good word for me then."
“I will, but Abe is very important to Aaron, so I can’t make any promises.”
“There will always be a chance. Aaron will be studying at Hogwarts for seven years!” Hagrid glanced somewhat reluctantly at Abbe, who was walking towards the next eggshell. “Let’s look at my Norbert first!”
Chapter 53 The Meeting of the Two Young Dragons
Hagrid teased the newborn Norber, but his eyes kept glancing at Abbe, who was gnawing on the eggshell, his gaze full of curiosity.
He desperately wanted Abe to come over so he could get a closer look, and it would be even better if he could touch him.
With Hermione watching him so seriously, this idea was just wishful thinking.
Harry and Ron, on the other hand, were thoroughly enjoying Norbert's company. Unlike Hagrid, they had gone to great lengths to steal Arbey's cat these past few days.
They had already experienced the luxury of observing and touching Hagrid up close; in comparison, Norbert, the Norwegian Spinosaurus, held a greater attraction for them.
Arbe may be an unknown magical creature, but it is impossible for it to surpass the pinnacle of magical creatures, the dragon.
Meanwhile, Crabbe and Goyle finally arrived at Slytherin's common room.
