“Don’t be silly, no one can take two classes at the same time,” Hermione said without thinking, but her expression immediately turned strange.
She managed to navigate her elective courses with ease using the time converter, but Aaron didn't use the tool, yet he showed up in the arithmetic divination classroom this morning.
Oh no! Is the Thought Entity about to be exposed?
Aaron noticed Hermione's puzzled look and instantly realized what she was thinking.
"Ahem... Um, the next Gryffindor class is Transfiguration, so don't keep Professor McGonagall waiting."
"Wait a minute." Hermione immediately called out to Aaron, then looked at Harry and Ron, "You two go first, I have something to talk to him about."
The two exchanged a glance and quickly left.
Hermione then asked meaningfully, "Shouldn't you explain this to me?"
"Explain what?"
"You know perfectly well what I'm asking." Hermione scoffed. "How did you manage to appear in two classrooms at the same time without using a time-tamper?"
"Perhaps I used it?" Aaron put on a smile, trying to hide the truth.
"is it?"
Hermione slowly approached, her large, watery eyes filled with a playful, serious, and slightly mocking gaze, like a ferocious fox eyeing a weak, pitiful, and bewildered little white rabbit.
She pointed to the time converter around her neck and said meaningfully, "I didn't see your watch."
"perhaps..."
“Don’t tell me you lost it.” Hermione crossed her arms and interrupted, “That’s a magical artifact related to time. If you lost it, you wouldn’t be so calm about it.”
A hint of helplessness flashed in Aaron's eyes, and he shook his head with a wry smile, "I was careless!"
I truly didn't expect you to sign up for five elective courses like me, and I certainly didn't expect Professor McGonagall to apply for a time-twister like that for you.
Hermione immediately beamed with delight. "Can you tell me how you managed to be in two classrooms at the same time?"
"No, that's my secret."
And you can't tell anyone else.
“Okay, I promise I won’t tell anyone.” Hermione beamed. “How many people know your secret?”
“There are several, but you’re the only one who discovered it yourself.” Aaron sighed helplessly. To be precise, she was the only one in this world who knew about it. Even Dumbledore and his family didn’t know that he had a thought clone.
"Hearing you say that makes me feel quite accomplished," Hermione said with a smug smile. "It's okay if you don't tell me; there are plenty of answers in the books, and I'll figure it out myself."
Aaron: ......
Well, it's not unacceptable that the thought entity has been discovered, but its abilities absolutely cannot be exposed.
......
After lunch, it was time for the lesson on protecting magical animals.
Aaron led Abe outside the castle, where the two of them breathed in the fresh air after the rain.
The Gryffindors and Slytherins who had signed up for the elective course gradually gathered in front of Hagrid's cabin, each carrying a strange book—"The Monster Book of Monsters."
"By the way, come closer, and please don't talk." Hagrid, wearing a mole fur coat, looked at the more than twenty students surrounding him with a hint of excitement. "Today I'm going to give you a feast for the eyes, a wonderful lesson. Come with me."
Hagrid led his students to the edge of the Forbidden Forest, where a stone fence formed a small enclosure.
"Students, stand in a group and turn to page 49."
"But how do I open this book?" Draco asked lazily. His book was undoubtedly a collector's edition, but it was no different from the regular edition; it would still bite people once opened.
"Just smooth it out," Aaron casually patted Abe's back. "Like this."
“Very good, Gaius.” Hagrid looked at Abe with some excitement. “Like petting a dragon, no, like petting a cat.”
He walked up to Aaron, wanting to try it out himself.
But as soon as he reached out his hand, Abe bared his fangs and let out a warning growl.
“Professor Hagrid, I personally think my cat doesn’t like you very much,” Aaron reminded him.
Hagrid withdrew his hand with some regret, then took Hermione's textbook and ran his thumb down the spine of the book.
The textbook trembled slightly, but when opened, it didn't bite; instead, it lay quietly in Hagrid's hand like an ordinary book.
Seeing this, the students straightened their textbooks before opening them with peace of mind.
Aside from Neville Longbottom, although a summer vacation had passed, his forgetfulness hadn't changed. He opened his textbook without touching it and ended up in a particularly messy state with "The Monster Book of Monsters," his wizard robes even getting bitten through in several places.
“These books are hilarious,” Hermione said.
“Yeah! It’s hilarious,” Draco scoffed. “Ingenious design. This school is doomed if it keeps going like this.”
"If my dad knew Dumbledore had Hagrid teach him, that would be quite a show."
“Draco,” Aaron said helplessly, “Hagrid knows enough about magical creatures to be a professor.”
“He knows a lot about magical creatures, but that doesn’t mean he can teach!” Draco said matter-of-factly. “Don’t forget, this giant has never had any teaching experience.”
“Shut up, Malfoy,” Harry couldn’t help but say.
“Watch out, Potter, there’s a Dementor behind you,” Draco teased. “Potter, I know you and Rupert Hagrid are good friends, but am I wrong about that?”
Harry opened his mouth, but was speechless.
No one wanted Hagrid's first lesson to be a success more than him, but in fact even he himself was worried about what kind of teaching accident might occur, after all, ordinary people wouldn't dare to keep those ferocious magical creatures as pets.
At that moment, a dozen or so animals appeared not far away. They had the bodies, hind legs, and tails of horses, and the heads, forelegs, and wings of eagles.
They all wore collars around their necks, and Hagrid led them slowly into the enclosure on chains.
"A winged beast with the head of a hippogriff," Aaron murmured in surprise.
"You know them?" Hermione asked, and Harry and Ron looked at him curiously as well.
"I've read just as many books as you have, but this is the first time I've ever seen such a magical creature."
“No matter how amazing it is, it can’t compare to your…cat,” Draco said. Abe immediately raised his proud dragon head and gave Draco an approving look.
You have good taste; it's undoubtedly the top dog in the magical beast circle at Hogwarts.
Previously, Dumbledore's phoenix could barely stand on equal footing with it, but now that it has evolved once, it can absolutely crush that bird.
"Since you know that the hippogriff is a winged beast, then..." Ron stammered, "how dangerous is it?"
“It depends.” Aaron clicked his tongue. “The hippogriff is the offspring of a male griffin and a female horse. It is extremely fierce before it is tamed, but it will not harm you after it is tamed.”
“So that means…” Harry swallowed hard, “we have to tame it next?”
"almost."
"Is it dangerous?" Hermione asked somewhat nervously, feeling a little apprehensive about such a large magical creature.
“You should have faith in Hagrid,” Aaron said casually. “It’s not dangerous for me, it’s even quite easy, but you… you’d better stick to the plan.”
To put it bluntly, while the hippogriff is peculiar, it's just an animal. If you're strong enough, you don't need to follow any rules; it will automatically submit.
"Is it powerful enough?" Draco stroked his chin, showing a hint of eagerness.
"Don't overthink it." Aaron patted him on the shoulder. "You'd better do as Hagrid says."
Hagrid led a grey-blue hippogriff into the paddock. Looking at its body, which was larger than a horse, the crowd was both curious and nervous.
"Isn't it beautiful?" Hagrid fed it a dead chicken, trying to get it excited. "Everyone, let's get to know Buckbeak, the hippogriff."
First, you need to understand that they are very arrogant, have bad tempers, and are not to be trifled with. Never humiliate a hippogriff, or you might lose your life.
Now, who will say hello to it?
Chapter 302 Buckbeak, the Bloodline Suppression of Fantastic Beasts
Everyone took a step back in unison, and some even squatted down behind the rocks, as if no one wanted to greet Buckbeak.
After all, Hagrid said, "You could lose your life if you're not careful." They were just a group of students, and their current mental fortitude didn't support them risking their lives.
Aaron also chose to follow the crowd. He was confident in taming Buckbeak, but didn't want to stand out.
"Well done, Harry, well done," Hagrid said with satisfaction. He really wouldn't know what to do if no one had set an example for him in his first class.
Harry Potter, realizing what was happening, looked back and saw that everyone had stepped back, but he was still standing there dumbfounded. No wonder Hagrid had called him out.
Harry groaned inwardly, but still gritted his teeth and climbed over the enclosure fence.
"Now you have to respect it, that's politeness."
"Step forward, bow to it, and then wait to see if it returns the bow." Hagrid patiently explained the key points of communicating with the hippogriff. "Only if it returns the bow can you touch it; otherwise, try again later."
Harry nervously bowed, but Buckbeak didn't return the bow. Instead, Buckbeak spread its wings and let out an arrogant cry, which made Harry's heart jump into his throat.
“Back off, Harry, back off.” Hagrid waved his arm anxiously, gesturing for him to back off gently.
But Harry had only taken a few steps back when he stepped on a branch, the cracking sound being particularly clear, making everyone present's heart skip a beat.
However, Buckbeak was not displeased by this. Instead, it bent its scaly front knees slightly and slowly bowed its head in a gesture of respect.
“Well done, Harry,” Hagrid said with a hint of excitement, then took a dead ferret and tossed it to Buckbeak.
Harry straightened up with a sigh of relief, but before he could even catch his breath, Hagrid continued, "You can go up and pat it now."
Go ahead, don't be shy, be gentle and slow.
Harry nervously walked up to Buckbeak and cautiously reached out to touch it. Buckbeak was quite cooperative, like a docile pet.
Witnessing Harry Potter's success, the other students cheered and applauded.
Draco's expression was not good, and his two henchmen Crabbe and Goyle also looked somewhat disappointed.
“It doesn’t look too difficult,” Draco said irritably.
"Then you go and try it!" Ron teased. "You weren't any slower than us when we were retreating!"
Draco glared at Ron but didn't say anything more.
“I think it’ll let you ride it.” Hagrid put Harry on Buckbeak’s back without waiting for his consent. “Sit behind the wing joints, and don’t pluck its feathers, or it won’t thank you.”
Hagrid patted Buckbeak's hind legs, and it spread its twelve-foot wings and flew into the sky, while Harry, still shaken, clung tightly to its neck and let out a terrified scream.
"It looks quite interesting," Aaron said with a smile.
“You call this interesting?” Hermione asked incredulously. “Harry must be terrified right now.”
