Mor Gaius dissected a corpse in front of him during the first lesson, and the provocation only intensified with each passing day.
After two months, he had been completely transformed. He wouldn't even flinch at the sight of a serpent monster, let alone a mountain of corpses or a sea of blood.
“What was that just now?” Riddle asked warily. “That’s definitely not magic that a wizard your age could use.”
"Don't be nervous, I won't be able to unleash a second sword strike in a short time."
Riddle finally realized what was happening and looked at the silver longsword in Aaron's hand. He was only relieved to find that the three magic crystals on the hilt had all become dull and lifeless.
He had finally escaped the diary and was about to be fully resurrected. If he were to be struck by that kind of attack now, it would be too unjust for him to die.
"This sword was forged by my ancestor. The first magic crystal absorbs blood, the second magic crystal absorbs physical strength, and the third magic crystal absorbs the user's magic power."
The power increases exponentially with each magic crystal lit up, but unfortunately, only one sword strike can be made at a time.
Someone once used this sword to kill a fully grown dragon; today I used it to slay a thousand-year-old serpent. It's not a waste of its potential.
“Very good, very good.” Riddle forced a smile. “The Gaius family has successfully piqued my interest.”
“That’s utterly absurd.” Aaron shook his head. “Even Voldemort at his peak couldn’t threaten any of our families, let alone Tom Riddle!”
“It’s not that we weren’t a threat, it’s just that we didn’t have time,” Riddle said meaningfully, glancing coldly at Harry Potter.
In his view, Voldemort's magic was invincible, otherwise the wizarding world would not have been filled with fear.
It was only because they were accidentally ambushed by the magic of an infant that those hidden magic families escaped a calamity.
“Next it’s you and me.” Riddle picked up Harry’s wand. “The descendant of Salazar Slytherin will defeat you, then kill the child who brought shame upon Voldemort, and once again reign supreme over the wizarding world.”
"That's not necessarily the case."
"It seems you have a lot of confidence in this magic array!"
"This was specially prepared for you, so we should test its power!"
“Do you think I’ll give you that chance?” Riddle laughed. “With my abilities, I could easily leave before you activate this magic circle.”
Opportunities are reserved for those who are prepared.
Unfortunately, I was actually very confident in my preparation.
Upon hearing this, Riddle's expression turned somewhat grim, and he unconsciously took a step, wanting to leave the range of the magic circle.
"Are you scared?" Aaron teased. "It seems even the infamous Voldemort is nothing special now."
Riddle paused slightly, clenched his fists, and slowly raised his wand. "With your power, even if you activate a magic circle, you cannot threaten me."
“Some things you won’t be satisfied with if you don’t try.” Aaron threw his longsword in front of Riddle and then drew his wand.
"Shattered to pieces!"
"Heart-breaking and bone-cutting!"
The two spells, one red and one green, collided in mid-air, with Riddle crushing them without a doubt, the green spell quickly overwhelming the red.
“See that? That’s the power of Voldemort,” Riddle said arrogantly. “Experience the Unforgivable Curse before you submit!”
Upon seeing this, Aaron immediately communicated with the system in his mind.
"I've saved up so many magic points, I need to use them wisely. I need to quickly raise my magic power to the initial level of Archmage."
Soon, Aaron felt his magical energy soaring rapidly until he broke through the 5,000-level bottleneck.
As a wizard's power increases, the energy of their spells naturally rises as well.
The speed at which the Shattered Bones Curse retreated also slowed down considerably. Although it was less than two meters away from Aaron, it bought him more time.
“This is impossible,” Riddle said incredulously. “How could you possibly be hiding so much strength? You’re only thirteen years old, yet you’ve already reached the level of a Grand Magister.”
"Don't worry about it, what's even more surprising is yet to come."
Riddle was somewhat exasperated, but quickly laughed. "So that's how it is. This is your trump card."
"You think you can kill me by activating a magic circle with the magic power of a mage?"
"Normally it wouldn't, but you don't have your hands free right now."
Riddle's expression changed drastically. He really couldn't defend himself now, and it was hard to say whether he could withstand it.
"You are also within the attack range. If you activate the magic circle, you will suffer the same damage."
“That’s true, but you’ve overlooked something.” Aaron said, flashing a bright smile, but to Riddle it seemed utterly cold.
"Although I am a few years younger than you, my physical fitness is far superior to yours."
In critical moments, the difference in physical condition can be fatal. I can definitely withstand more damage than you, and I'll be one breath longer than you after taking an attack.
At this point, it's all about the thrill, it's a gamble with your life, but my odds of winning are slightly higher.
Chapter 194 On the Importance of Finishing Off
"You...you're insane, you're a madman! What good will this do you?" Riddle roared, increasing the power of the spell, and the Cruciatus Curse suddenly advanced several tens of centimeters.
However, Aaron was also unleashing a fierce attack, frantically consuming his magical energy to sustain the Shattering Curse. At this point, the gap in strength between the two sides had narrowed considerably, and Riddle's hope of a quick victory was now just wishful thinking.
"There's no benefit, but making the enemy feel overwhelmed means I haven't done anything wrong."
“Aaron Gaius,” Riddle gritted his teeth in anger, “Didn’t I say I wouldn’t kill you? Is it really worth fighting me to the death?”
"Isn't this all your fault?" Aaron said with a look of grief and indignation. "I didn't want it to be like this either, but as the saying goes, it's not the thief you should be afraid of, it's the one who has his eye on you."
If I don't kill you today, I'll have a Voldemort watching me from now on, and nobody can stand that!
Riddle's face darkened, and his lips twitched uncontrollably.
He considered himself to be fairly well-mannered, but at that moment he felt an urge to unleash a torrent of curses.
But he quickly realized something, a sinister smile appeared on his lips, and he calmed down, asking meaningfully, "The plan is good, but haven't you thought about what if it fails?"
"You can rest assured about that; I have considered everything thoroughly."
A fight to the death is ideal, but a lose-lose situation is also acceptable to me.
Don't forget I also have a phoenix, a holy dragon, and three second-year wizards.
"Although they can't be of much help in combat, they don't need to learn how to finish off enemies," Aaron said casually, but his words struck a nerve with Riddle.
He could accept being defeated by Aaron; being defeated by a genius wasn't shameful. But he couldn't tolerate being picked off by a few minor wizards; that would be a tremendous insult.
Especially since there's a Harry Potter character in it—it's blatant self-deprecation!
“I won’t give you a chance,” Riddle said sternly. “Unless this magic circle is activated, your plan will never begin.”
"It's not like I need an opportunity," Aaron said, struggling to take out his second wand, his free left hand pointing at the magic circle on the ground.
"Wait a minute," Harry quickly stopped Aaron, saying, "We can help. We should be able to buy you a few seconds."
"No, please, I'm begging you, don't make things worse," Aaron said in a panic. "If you join now, he can easily use a spell to pull you into the magic circle, and then things will get complicated."
“What if we shoot from a distance?” Ron asked.
“That would be even worse. He could then retreat outside the magic circle, and my plan would truly be stillborn.”
“No need to be so cautious, you can give it a try,” Riddle chuckled, his voice full of temptation.
But the three of them shivered and silently took a step back.
"Aaron, what can we do?" Hermione asked worriedly. "Isn't there any other way?"
"If I had, I wouldn't have gone to this extent."
In short, don't worry about me, I'm definitely not going to die.
Be prepared to finish him off, but remember to be quick, accurate, and ruthless; don't give him any chance.
Riddle's expression hardened slightly, sensing that Aaron seemed to have noticed something.
But at this point, he dared not ask any more questions. After all, his opponent was incredibly shrewd, and it would be bad if he really noticed something.
Aaron added the final piece to the magic circle, and the black blood on the circle quickly evaporated, turning reddish-brown. The magic circle also began to flash with a dark red light.
A faint crackling sound filled the air, and black lightning flashed in and out of existence. At first, it was only the thickness of a hair, but in the blink of an eye, it formed an extremely ferocious black lightning snake.
The lightning snake roared as it shot out of the magic circle, flying straight toward the ceiling. The mere discharge of its charge sent shocks through the two of them.
Riddle trembled, trying to get away from the magic circle beneath his feet, because a thunderstorm was brewing above them; if it fell, they would be crippled or killed.
But Aaron stubbornly held onto his Shattering Curse, not giving him a chance to retreat.
"You madman, do you want to die with me?"
"Dream on, you don't deserve to die with me." Aaron said righteously. "By the way, just a friendly reminder, the main material of that sword is mithril, which has excellent electrical conductivity."
"what?"
Riddle stared wide-eyed at the silver longsword stuck in front of him, the arcs of electricity clearly visible on it.
This isn't a sword, it's a giant lightning rod!
Rumble...
The black lightning serpent bared its fangs and fell vertically from above, aiming directly at the core of the magic circle.
But the moment it landed, Razer seemed to sense something and diverted some of its energy towards Riddle, or more precisely, towards the silver longsword in front of him.
And so, the Thunder split the score 3-7, Aaron 3-7, and Riddle 7-7.
Under the onslaught of the thunderstorm, Aaron and Riddle were forced to remove their respective spells, only managing to let out a bloodcurdling wail.
The entire secret room was shaking constantly, and sand and dust mixed with clear lake water fell from the ceiling.
Harry, Harry, and his two companions were also affected, swaying left and right, staring dumbfounded at the two extremely conspicuous humanoid skeletons bathed in lightning.
A few seconds later, the magic circle disappeared with the lightning, leaving two figures, charred black, on the cracked ground.
"Aaron."
Hermione murmured something to herself and ran quickly toward him.
Harry and Ron didn't hesitate either, and followed Hermione with Ginny.
"You absolutely can't get hurt!" Hermione carefully turned Aaron's face over, her eyes red from worry.
She is now at a loss and doesn't know what to do.
As a top student, she knows many spells, but she hasn't learned any healing spells, so she can't be of any help.
