"Damn it!" Aaron cursed. "I shouldn't have come with you guys. Every time we come to the Forbidden Forest, nothing good ever comes of it. We're either running away or on our way to run away."
"I'm actually quite glad I called you over, otherwise we'd probably be done for here."
“You’re still talking? They’re catching up.” Ron said, glancing back. He was immediately terrified, his face turning pale. Two spider legs were less than a meter away from him.
"Aaron, can you use that spell one more time?" Hermione asked anxiously. "If you can, don't hide it. We can't outrun these spiders!"
"You make it sound so easy, but that's a high-level magic circle!"
At my current skill level, I need at least three minutes to prepare, but now I can barely manage three seconds, let alone three minutes.
"What about intermediate and beginner levels?"
"hehe!
That's not that troublesome, but its power is relatively weaker, and it can't stop so many spiders at all.
"And do you think we'll have time to cast spells? As things stand, if we stop, we'll be overwhelmed by the spider swarm."
"What should I do?"
“Run, run like your life is hanging by a thread,” Aaron said without hesitation.
He didn't need to worry, as his physical abilities far surpassed those of ordinary people. He could shake off the spider swarm in no time if he wanted to. He only had to slow down and keep pace with the others because he was worried about the few burdens behind him.
Not long after they started running, Harry was suddenly tripped by a vine, and the spiders seized the opportunity to pounce on him.
"Strike the giant spider!"
Hermione swatted away an eight-eyed giant spider and quickly helped Harry up, but in doing so, she put herself in danger.
Seeing this, Aaron and Ron had no choice but to stop.
"This is really bad," Aaron said with a wry smile. "Why did you have to trip over that obstacle when you were running perfectly fine?"
Harry forced a smile, looking like he was about to cry, and said, "That's how the Forbidden Forest is at night; it's normal not to be able to see the path clearly."
"Instead of wasting time explaining, you should think about how to deal with the current situation!" Aaron took out his second wand. "Let me make it clear beforehand, protect yourselves. If I get carried away, I might not be able to take care of you."
The three of them, along with Ya Ya, couldn't help but feel despair as they looked at the swarm of spiders surrounding them. There was an exit before, but there were more spiders in front of it to prevent them from escaping. Now, however, there were eight-eyed giant spiders all around them, and they seemed to stretch as far as the eye could see. It was no easy task.
Abe, however, looked disdainful. It was only because its master hadn't given the order that it grew to such a massive size in no time, and a single breath of its dragon energy could have burned a large number of people to death.
Suddenly, a high-pitched but intermittent sound rang out, and two beams of light pierced through the spider swarm and landed on the group of people.
The Weasleys' car, dragging its battered and wrecked body, smashed its way through a path. The giant spiders had never seen a car before, but seeing their kin in such a sorry state, they could tell how powerful it was and immediately chose to give way.
The car stopped in front of them, with all four doors open at the same time.
“Wow! I’m starting to like this car.” Aaron shrugged and climbed into the driver’s seat.
"Bring your teeth with you."
Harry reminded them as he climbed into the front seat, while Ron picked up the trembling Tooth and Hermione and climbed into the back seat.
After everyone boarded the bus, the doors closed automatically.
The magic car doesn't require Aaron to do anything; it can drive itself completely.
The engine roared up quickly, the car knocked over more spiders, and sped through the dense forest until it suddenly stopped at the edge of the forbidden forest.
After getting out of the car, Ron started vomiting uncontrollably. It took him a while to stand up weakly. "Follow the spider, follow the spider."
"I'll kill Hagrid as soon as he gets out of Azkaban."
“I dare say Hagrid thought Aragog wouldn’t hurt his friends, and we thought so too.” Hermione glanced guiltily at Aaron. “If only we had listened to you from the beginning, we would not only have found out nothing, but we almost lost our lives.”
"That's your problem, you guys always like to think the best of things," Aaron said speechlessly. "When I'm in a critical situation, I still have Abe to save me. With its current strength, it can fly with one or two people."
But what about you? You're lucky you even survived tonight.
Harry suddenly seemed to remember something, paused slightly, and looked up directly into Aaron's eyes. "Now that it's time for you to tell us the last clue!"
Aaron was taken aback, then scoffed, "Didn't I already tell you?"
“I was referring to what could be the final location of the Chamber of Secrets,” Harry explained. “We’ve checked the common room, so we can rule that out.”
The Forbidden Forest is also impossible; the basilisk is the natural enemy of the eight-eyed giant spider, and Aragog and its offspring could not possibly hide near the predator's mouth.
As for the Black Lake, it's possible that the Slytherin heir is from Slytherin House, since the Slytherin common room is located underwater, making it exceptionally convenient to summon the Basilisk.
But we've already confirmed that Gryffindor is Slytherin's heir, so the Chamber of Secrets can't be in the Black Lake.
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "I have to admit, you're a bit smarter than I thought."
However, I still have to apologize; I don't intend to tell you the final location.
"Why?" Hermione frowned in confusion. "Hogwarts has already experienced several attacks. Even if you have some unspeakable reason, is it more important than the lives of the students?"
"This..." Aaron hesitated for a while, then frowned slightly and said, "Okay! Remember the water stains at the crime scene on Halloween Eve?"
Back then, nobody mopped the floor, so where did the water come from?
“The washroom,” Hermione said immediately. “Only the washroom is possible, and the place where Lady Lorris was murdered is very close to the washroom.”
"That's right.
As far as I know, Myrtle was the student who was killed by the basilisk fifty years ago; she died in the washroom.
"So, that's why you don't want to tell us?" Harry asked, surprised.
"Otherwise what!"
I'm not afraid to go anywhere else, but this is the girls' restroom! Didn't you two boys feel even the slightest bit awkward going there?
Harry and Ron exchanged a glance, blushed, and lowered their heads.
No matter what you think in your heart, you absolutely cannot admit it to others; it's a matter of character.
"Seeing the two of you like this, I think you should understand my predicament."
The girls' restroom was one thing, but there was also a female ghost inside who was lusting after me. That place was a hundred times more terrifying to me than a dragon's den or a tiger's lair. Anyone would be terrified in that situation!
“You could just tell us and we’ll help you find it!” Hermione said.
"Heh! Heh heh!"
One second I was completely fooled by you, and the next second I'm telling you the last clue that can defend my dignity and bottom line.
"Do you think I'm that despicable?" Aaron sneered. "Even if I'm not going to fight for pride, don't I have any dignity?"
Chapter 185 Ginny's Plea for Help
Having obtained the last clue, Harry, Meghan and his friends immediately decided to investigate the bathroom where the weeping Myrtle was.
However, due to the school being under martial law, with many people patrolling various areas every day, and the regulations issued by Dumbledore stipulating that the washrooms could only be used with a teacher present, especially since that washroom was located next to the site of the first attack and was heavily guarded, this undoubtedly added considerable difficulty to their investigation.
For various reasons, they couldn't find an opportunity to make a move for a very long time.
A few weeks later, Professor McGonagall made two announcements in the auditorium.
First, the final exams will not be canceled and will be held as scheduled on June 1st.
The news struck every student like a bolt from the blue. Everyone had been living in fear all year because of the escape room incident, and no one was in the mood to study properly.
Many students who were not academically successful assumed that they would not have exams, but they did not expect that reality would be so cruel.
Professor McGonagall looked at the students below, whose faces were filled with bitterness, and her expression darkened. "The reason we haven't closed the school under these abnormal circumstances is to ensure that you receive an education. Therefore, it is inevitable that we will examine what you have learned this year."
“Besides that, I have some good news to share with everyone,” Professor McGonagall said excitedly. “The mandrakes are ready to be harvested, and the students who were petrified tonight, the ghosts, and Filch’s cat will all return to normal.”
One of them might tell us who their attacker was, and we might be able to catch them.
As soon as he finished speaking, a loud cheer erupted in the auditorium.
After being on edge for so long, the school can finally lift the curfew. It looks like we just need to get through tonight.
However, Aaron and the others, who knew the truth, were not so optimistic. While it was certainly a cause for celebration that the petrification of the victims could be lifted, it was obvious that they had only seen the basilisk monster, and the heir had definitely not appeared in their sight.
Knowing what the killer looks like is obviously not enough; we also need to know where the killer is hiding.
Moreover, Hagrid's roosters have all been killed, and apart from the two roosters that Aaron secretly captured, the Basilisk has no natural enemies at Hogwarts.
Most importantly, with Dumbledore, who was in charge of Hogwarts, absent, the heir to Slytherin now had the confidence to overturn the table.
If the enemy is pushed too far, even if the professors can hold off the basilisk, there will certainly be considerable casualties.
Suddenly, a figure appeared opposite Aaron. He slowly raised his head and was surprised to find that the person was Ginny Weasley.
"Ginny, what do you need me for?"
Ginny nodded nervously. "There's something I need to tell you. Only you can help me now."
"I?"
Aaron was slightly taken aback. Although he had stayed at the shabby place for two days, his relationship with this girl was not that good; at most, they were just ordinary friends.
Besides, Ginny has several older brothers at Hogwarts who look after her, one of whom is a Gryffindor prefect. Even if she has any trouble, she doesn't need to ask him, a Slytherin, for help!
"This is interesting."
Tell me what happened first, and then I'll decide whether or not to help.
"It's about the locked room." Ginny lowered her voice, glancing around constantly as she spoke, appearing extremely tense and exhausted.
Upon hearing this, Aaron immediately became wide awake and skillfully took an orange from Abe's pocket and placed it on Ginny's tray.
"Don't rush, speak slowly."
"I, I..." Ginny stammered, her eyes glistening with tears, her voice trembling with sobs. "I'm sorry, I don't know if I did those things, but they're definitely related to me."
"What exactly happened?" Aaron tried his best to keep his tone calm, because Ginny was clearly in a state where she couldn't handle any more stimulation.
“The diary, Tom Riddle’s diary,” Ginny said in a panic, her body trembling uncontrollably. “Everything was fine until I got that diary and everything started to go strange.”
"Alright, stop talking." Aaron immediately interrupted her. "You're scared. You might faint before you even finish speaking."
"Now it's my turn to ask you questions. If you don't want to answer, you can just nod or shake your head, understand?"
Ginny took a deep breath and then nodded.
"Don't be nervous, be strong."
First, do you know the location of the secret room?
Ginny shook her head.
