Suddenly, a dazzling red light struck Lockhart's chest.

He was sent flying backward, landing on the floor amidst gasps of surprise.

The Slytherins around him applauded and cheered. This was their Head of House, who had defeated Lockhart in a single move.

“I’m starting to feel sorry for him,” Draco chuckled. “He probably never imagined Professor Snape would be this good!”

Who knows!

However, I don't think the result would change regardless of which professor is replaced.

Lockhart picked up his wand and staggered to his feet.

Despite the pain in his chest and the mess up of his hair, he acted as if nothing was wrong.

“Well done, Professor Snape.”

"But if I may be so bold, your intentions are quite obvious." Lockhart said casually as he walked forward, "If I wanted to stop you, it would be effortless."

Snape's face darkened further, and a faint murderous glint even appeared in his eyes.

Lockhart clearly sensed this as well, and was about to end the demonstration that would deeply hurt him when a voice from below sent a shiver down his spine.

“Then let’s demonstrate again, Professor,” Aaron said. “It will broaden our horizons as well.”

“I have no objection.” Snape looked at Lockhart meaningfully. “I’m sure our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor won’t object either!”

Lockhart's heart skipped a beat, and his expression became somewhat unnatural.

Aaron Gaius was just looking for trouble. If he agreed, he would definitely be knocked out again. He didn't want to lose face in front of everyone.

And then there's Severus Snape. I thought he was taciturn and would follow the script he had arranged, but I didn't expect him to be so ruthless and taciturn.

"What should I do?" Lockhart's mind raced. Seeing the expectant looks on the faces of many students below, an idea immediately came to him.

He glanced at Aaron, then fixed his gaze on Snape, and said seriously, "I admit it's a pretty good idea."

But this is a club, not a serious classroom, and we cannot deprive the children of their stage.

I suggested that the students be divided into pairs, allowing them to showcase their talents in their own way, and then we could correct them if anything was incorrect.

"What do you think of Professor Snape?"

Although it was a question, Lockhart wasn't going to give Snape a chance to speak. "Alright, it's settled then."

He turned around and put some distance between himself and Snape, and as he approached the other end of the ring, he saw Harry and Ron in the crowd.

"Potter, Weasley, how about you two go first?"

“That’s not a good idea,” Snape scoffed. “Weasley’s wand malfunctions even with the simplest spells. We’ll probably have to put Potter in a matchbox and send him to the hospital.”

Besides, a Gryffindor vs. Gryffindor match would inevitably be a half-hearted affair, so let's pick someone from my house instead!

Gaius, come out here for a moment. I'm sure you and Mr. Potter can give us a spectacular duel.

Aaron paused for a moment, then turned to look at Draco. "I didn't expect this."

"It doesn't matter, I don't care if it's sooner or later."

"If you were to play, you could really dampen Porter's spirits."

“I’ve already said I’m not interested,” Aaron said speechlessly, then raised his right hand. “Professor, I’m not too keen on fighting Harry Potter.”

How about replacing him with Malfoy?

Draco has always wanted to face off against the famous Harry Potter, and I think we should give them a chance.

Snape frowned slightly, but Lockhart assumed that Aaron was afraid.

Remembering how the other party had almost embarrassed him, he immediately put on a kind and understanding look, "Gaius, I personally think you should demonstrate Slytherin's abilities to everyone."

I know Mr. Potter is very famous, but if you give up because you're afraid, you're destined to lose a lot later.

Aaron's lips twitched, and he even felt an urge to laugh.

Lockhart's imagination is a bit too vivid. He just doesn't seem to want to go on stage. Where did he show any fear?

On the other side, Harry was also completely bewildered.

He was somewhat confident in dealing with Malfoy, and he also needed to get close to Malfoy for the sake of the Polyjuice Potion.

But he didn't think he was stronger than Alan, and the other party was likely the successor of Slytherin. If he didn't hold back, he might have to go to the school hospital again.

"Professor, I..."

“Don’t worry, Mr. Potter, it’s just a disarming charm.” Lockhart raised an eyebrow at Harry. “You won’t hurt him.”

Harry looked bitter, but he wasn't so resistant anymore.

There was no other reason; it was simply that Lockhart was still perfectly fine after being knocked away by Snape.

Chapter 167 The Opportunity to Pull Hair

Aaron stood helplessly on the ring, unconsciously touching the ring on his left hand.

His current combat power has reached the level of a novice mage. This ring will seal half of his magical energy, suppressing his power to the level of a novice advanced mage.

Even so, he still felt it was a bit unfair to deal with a mid-level wizard like Harry.

Aaron looked at Harry across from him and shrugged. "Actually, I didn't want to go on stage, but since I'm here, there's no reason for me to lose."

But don't worry, I'll try my best to go easy on you.

“I never thought my opponent would be you.” Harry said nervously, sounding somewhat strained. “I originally thought my target was Malfoy.”

Lockhart grinned widely upon hearing this. "Harry, I can arrange another match for you and Malfoy later."

Now, all you need to do is concentrate and defeat your opponent.

"Thank you, Professor."

"Wand ready"

The two gradually distanced themselves, raising their wands over their shoulders as if to attack.

“Count down three times, then cast a spell to disarm the opponent,” Lockhart emphasized. “It’s just to disarm them; we don’t want any accidents.”

one two three."

"Expelliarmus."

Aaron and Harry simultaneously chanted the spell, and silver light flew from their respective wands.

Without any suspense, Aaron's spell was more powerful, absorbing Harry's spell in less than a second and knocking the wand from his hand.

Harry staggered back a few steps before regaining his balance, but felt a great sense of relief.

It didn't hurt, and I wasn't knocked off the ring like Lockhart did.

"I won." Aaron put away his wand and walked off the stage with a flourish.

Snape nodded in satisfaction from the audience, a slight smile appearing on his perpetually cold face.

“Very good,” Lockhart clapped. “They are very skilled at using disarming spells.”

"Malfoy, it's your turn." Snape winked at Draco, signaling him to press his advantage and teach Harry Potter a lesson.

“Wait a moment, wait a moment,” Lockhart stepped forward and said. “I personally think this duel should be postponed. Mr. Potter needs to rest now.”

Draco was somewhat reluctant, but before he could say anything, he was stopped by Aaron's gaze.

"Professor, I'll give you face. After all, Slytherin wouldn't bully an injured person."

Harry glared at him fiercely, feeling very resentful, but he suppressed his anger for the time being when he thought of their purpose.

I'll let you be smug for a while, but when you pull out your hair later, you'll definitely pull out a few more strands.

Lockhart walked to the center of the ring, glanced at Snape with some panic, and sneered, "I think it would be better to divide the opponents according to the academy."

Gryffindor versus Slytherin, Hufflepuff versus Ravenclaw, what do you think?

“Perfect,” Snape sneered. “It’ll be a good opportunity to see how Slytherin and Gryffindor can duel.”

Lockhart looked away, dispelling some of his anxiety, and then looked at the crowd below. "Please volunteer to come up as a couple, but please note that you cannot be students from the same college."

Soon, all sorts of colors appeared on the arena.

Only a few groups used the disarming spell as Lockhart instructed; most students were using the arena to test their magical abilities, though some had ulterior motives.

Hermione chose Crabbe as her opponent. After several rounds of fighting, she used the Clear Spring Charm to wash his hair and then pretended to accidentally drop her wand on the ground, successfully picking up a few strands of hair.

Ron chose Goyle as his opponent, but perhaps he used too much force when casting the spell, because the green light bounced back at him and knocked him out of the ring.

Gore walked to the edge of the ring and began to laugh openly.

Ron angrily returned to the ring, this time abandoning his unreliable wand and pouncing on Goyle, punching and kicking him.

However, Gore was bigger, and although he was caught off guard at first, he quickly used his physical advantage to subdue Ron and clamp his head down firmly.

Harry immediately went up and separated the two, then tugged at Goyle's head, making him wince in pain.

The three met in a corner of the Great Hall. Hermione proudly held up a few strands of black hair in her hand. "I got them, Crabbe's hair. What about you guys?"

“Got it.” Harry stuffed a few strands of hair into Ron’s hand. “I had a hard time getting them out.”

"Let me state upfront that if this hair isn't sterilized and disinfected, I won't even drink the prepared compound decoction."

"It's good enough that there is one, and you're still complaining." Hermione rolled her eyes. "Only Malfoy is left."

Harry nodded and turned his gaze to the other side of the ring, where Draco was busy berating his two henchmen, looking particularly angry.

Crabbe could accept losing, after all, Hermione was a top student and quite capable.

But Goyle disappointed him somewhat; a Weasley without a wand could actually fight him to a draw, which was a disgrace to Slytherin.

In the ensuing duel, some were hit by the tickling curse, laughing uncontrollably and becoming completely limp; others were hit by the dancing curse, their legs twitching incessantly as they began to dance in the auditorium.

This is considered a relatively good situation. There were also students who were hit by powerful spells, injured and bleeding, and two students who were simultaneously struck by the opponent's petrification spell, falling straight down on the arena.

The scene became increasingly chaotic, and Lockhart began to panic.

But he was clearly powerless to stop it all, and could only stand by and say things like "be careful," "watch out," "keep going," and "get up."

If Professor Snape hadn't used the Stop Charm in time to break the spells, many students would likely have suffered even greater harm.

“Professor Lockhart, you really surprise me,” Snape sneered. “I remember you and Dumbledore talking about teaching them to stop unfriendly magic, but…”
