Chiga felt that her clothes were almost soaked through, so she patted Connie's back a few times to calm her down, and then put her hands on Connie's shoulders and pushed her away from her embrace.
Chiga gently wiped away Conis's tears with a finger, and briefly explained to Conis that the purple skeletal giant was caused by his own power, and that he and she were alive and well.
“What do you mean...is this here?”
Connie stared blankly at Chiga. This Qinghai man in front of her was truly special; it was the first time she had ever seen someone who could block Enel's attack.
Inside a palace, Enel, still a young man, sat on a magnificent chair, yawning, picking at his ear with one hand, and muttering to himself.
"This man from Qinghai is quite interesting; he actually managed to block the 'divine punishment'."
Upon hearing Enel's words, the four priests beneath the chair immediately stepped forward, their faces full of obsequiousness.
"It was just good luck. We are willing to serve God and let this man from Qinghai know the consequences of offending God!"
Enel didn't even glance at the four priests below, and waved his hand impatiently.
"Alright, you guys go ahead. Oh, by the way, that guy from Qinghai was with a local girl too, let's take care of her as well."
"Yes!"
Chapter 95 Offer Up Your Hearts
Conis was unaware that she had been targeted by the four priests. Having narrowly escaped death from Enel's divine punishment, she happily brought Chika to the former god of Skypiea, Ganful.
With a white beard and wearing a full suit of armor, Ganford looked at Conis with affection, then at Chika standing beside Conis.
With just one glance, Ganful felt a powerful sense of oppression from Chiga. Especially after seeing Chiga's Rinnegan, this former god of Sky Island felt an urge to worship him.
He had never felt this way with Enel, but there was one person in his memory who possessed the same aura: Roger.
A fine layer of cold sweat appeared on his forehead. Suppressing his discomfort, Ganford spoke cautiously.
"Hello, I am Ganful. May I ask your name?"
Chiga nodded slightly and responded with a smile.
"Uchiha Chika".
Uchiha? What a strange surname. Ganful thought for a moment and realized that he had never heard of any powerful person with this surname. That makes sense, he hadn't been exposed to information from below for a long time since Enel had dethroned him.
"It must be a newly emerged powerhouse in Qinghai," Ganful continued after a moment's thought.
"Were you brought here by upwelling ocean currents?"
"I came by myself."
Upon hearing this, Connie jumped up excitedly.
"Grandpa Ganful, Brother Qianhe flew up by himself, isn't that amazing? He clearly doesn't have wings, yet he can fly freely in the air!"
Connie and Chiga hadn't known each other for long, but because Chiga made a very good first impression on her, and because Chiga saved her life, she automatically became Chiga-nii (Brother Chiga) after learning his name.
Chiga also had a good impression of the girl with a pair of small wings on her back. The girl's address, "Chiga-nii," reminded him of two little ones from Cocoyasi Village.
Reaching out and patting Connie's head, Chika said to Ganford:
"Alright, I understand the situation here. Don't worry, I'll handle Enel."
Hearing Chiga's words, Ganful didn't feel much joy. He didn't question what Chiga said, but he also knew that there's no such thing as a free lunch.
Even if Chiga really defeats Enel, what will he do? Will he become the new god of Skypiea?
Ganful wasn't greedy for that so-called divine position. In the years since Enel had dethroned him, he had developed a common enemy with the Shandians, another race on Skypiea, and had put aside some of his grudges.
The Shandians and Skypiea finally found a possibility of reconciliation through some cooperation. He even thought that if he could really defeat Enel, he would make concessions and give land to the Shandians.
Since Chiga is neither a Sky Islander nor a Shandian, he has absolutely no need to concern himself with the grudges between the two groups.
If he defeats Enel and becomes the new god, how will he treat the two races? Is there any possibility of reconciliation between the Shandians and the Skypiea?
Connie had no idea what Gan Fall was thinking. Seeing his worried expression, she assumed he was concerned that Enel would overhear their conversation and punish them. So she went up to Gan Fall and said...
"Grandpa Ganful, don't worry about divine punishment. Brother Qianhe just summoned a skeletal giant to block the divine punishment and even saved me!"
"That's not what I meant. I..."
"You Qinghai people who have intruded on the Sky Island, come out here! God says you are guilty!"
An extremely arrogant voice rang out, and both Ganford and Conis's expressions changed upon hearing it. It was the voice of the four priests.
Qianhe glanced towards the entrance, and the Myriad Manifestations Heaven was activated. Four figures flew in and lay down at Qianhe's feet.
Chiga looked down at the four priests lying on the ground like dead dogs, expressionless, and said coldly,
"Who did you just say was guilty? Was it me?"
Ohm, the strongest of the four priests, rose from the ground, glaring angrily at Chiga, and shouted, "How dare you! You dare attack us four priests! Do you know what kind of punishment you will receive?!"
"Oh? I'd really like to hear that."
"You have spoken disrespectfully to God, and now you've even attacked us. Before God is fully angered, you and the woman behind you should just commit suicide!"
"It's that simple?"
"Of course it's not that simple. You'll have to pay the fine for your illegal entry before you die!"
"Hahahahaha!"
Chiga burst out laughing. These guys had really gone mad from being stuck on the Sky Island. They already thought they were invincible, just like the so-called god behind them.
Seeing that the Qinghai man was still laughing, Ohm became even angrier. He pulled out a white sword and pointed it at Qianhe. The blade could even extend automatically as he thrust it at Qianhe.
"Go to hell, you people of Qinghai!"
Ohm glared menacingly at Qianhe, believing that this arrogant Qinghai man was about to be pierced through the heart by the "Iron Cloud" in his hand.
However, with a mere wave of his hand, Chiga shattered the extendable sword into a pile of fragments at his feet.
"Nani?"
Ohm stared in disbelief at the shards on the ground. He could understand if Chiga had dodged the attack, but how could he have shattered the Iron Cloud with his bare hands like swatting a fly? Were the hands of the people of Qinghai made of iron?
Chiga gently shook his hand a few times, as if he had just swatted a fly. He didn't even need to use Armament Haki for this level of attack; his physical strength alone was enough.
The three priests behind Ohm instinctively took a step back. If Ohm's attack was dealt with so easily, their attacks wouldn't be much better. After all, Ohm was the strongest of the four of them.
Given how things have developed, even if they are arrogant and conceited, they should recognize the reality that the people of Qinghai possess far more terrifying strength than they imagined.
"Fine, I've had enough of you annoying flies. Give me your hearts."
Chiga glanced at them, and the four priests suddenly showed expressions of pain, clutching their hearts.
Puff puff puff!
A series of blood-splattering sounds rang out, and four hearts, dripping with blood, flew out of the chests of the four priests and floated in the air.
Chiga did not use the ROO space; this attack was merely an application of his Gravity Fruit.
Against enemies of average strength, he can lock his gaze onto their chest and suck out their hearts directly—a simple, brutal, and visually impactful method.
"Uh, my heart, give it back to me..."
The four-barreled organ stared unfocusedly at the heart floating in the air, reaching out as if to put the heart back into its body, but it collapsed to the ground halfway through its reach, twitching a few times before dying completely.
Chiga stared blankly at the four bodies on the ground, asking a question without even turning her head.
"roo".
A huge space unfolded, covering the entire sky island. Chiga didn't try to sense anything, but simply asked Ganful, who had been standing there for half a day, about Enel's location. Then, he used Displacement to send the four corpses on the ground back.
"Great! Qianhe-ge is really amazing, those guys deserve to die!"
Connie wasn't frightened by Chiga's somewhat bloody methods. Instead, she stared intently at the spot where the four priests' corpses had disappeared and excitedly praised Chiga.
Chiga didn't say anything more, but turned around and gave Connie a smile before disappearing from her sight.
Chapter 96 I'm Serious About Playing with Lightning
Inside the palace, Enel stared at the four corpses lying on the ground, his gaze unwavering.
He raised his hand and released a bolt of lightning, leaving four charred corpses on the ground, and a pungent, burnt smell filled the hall.
"The technique is good, but the smell isn't very pleasant."
A mocking voice rang out in the hall. Enel looked up at the entrance and saw Chika standing there with her hands in her pockets.
“Qinghai native, I have to admit you have some skills, but if these skills give you the illusion that you can challenge the gods, then I can only say that your end will not be good.”
Hearing Enel still calling himself a god, Chiga couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle a few times. When he looked at Enel again, his gaze turned indifferent, and he said calmly,
"No one can call themselves a god before these eyes."
Chiga's gaze made Enel feel extremely uncomfortable, because he felt that this was the gaze a god should have when looking at all living beings.
Those eyes truly made him feel something called divinity, something he absolutely could not tolerate.
"Die! You blasphemer! Inazuma!"
Enel's arm transformed into lightning and shot upwards.
Chiga remained motionless, a deep purple energy rising around his body, enveloping him in a ribcage.
The lightning struck Chiga, making a crackling sound, but apart from scorching the ground around Chiga, it did not cause Chiga any harm whatsoever.
Enel remained calm, examined the skeleton encasing Chiga, and commented with an air of seriousness.
"So this is the move you used to block divine punishment? Not bad."
"Maybe."
Chiga dispelled Susanoo, raised an arm, and said with a smile,
"You're really good at playing with fire, aren't you?"
Enel raised an eyebrow. He considered himself a god who controlled lightning, and Chiga's words were nothing short of a provocation to him.
He slammed his hand on the large drum behind him, and a crackling sound rang out as a giant thunderbird flew out from it.
"Thirty million volts Thunderbird!"
Enel looked at Chiga triumphantly. This attack, delivered through the drum, was far superior to the Inazuma attack from before.
He was confident that he could use this move to turn that arrogant man from Qinghai into a charred corpse.
