I have seen dragons

Chapter 37 Top Assassin

Chapter 37 Top Assassin

In the suburbs, inside an abandoned factory.

A crunching sound echoed through the desolate woodland as dry, withered leaves were crushed underfoot, and two massive figures emerged from the forest.

It was Huang Dahu, dressed in a suit, and the two brothers, Hei Xiaozai, dressed entirely in black.

A tall jeep was parked at the factory gate. The lion with dreadlocks from the Monster Club leaned against the car, wearing a leather jacket and smoking a thick cigar.

"Sorry we're a few minutes late," Huang Dahu greeted them. "We had to cross the railway tracks and wait for a train to pass by."

“It’s alright,” the dreadlocked lion laughed. “I just got here too, and I’d only lit a cigarette before you all arrived.”

"Where's the assassin?" Huang Dahu asked.

“It’s inside.” The dreadlocked lion took a deep drag, emptying the large cigar in his hand, the flame instantly reaching his fingers. He closed his eyes, his mind jerked, and as if his soul had left his body, he exhaled a large cloud of smoke before slowly opening his eyes. “Come with me.”

Huang Dahu turned to his younger brother and said, "Don't follow my example. You'll get lung cancer after just three cigarettes."

"There's nothing we can do; those two brothers inside can't handle any stimulation," the dreadlocked lion said with a hint of helplessness. "They get easily agitated when they see Mars."

Once inside the factory gate, there was a spacious workshop filled with broken machines, but there was no one in sight. The dreadlocked lion then led them up to the second floor of the factory.

"So irritable, is he reliable?" Huang Dahu frowned.

"I can only tell you that these two brothers are the strongest top-tier assassins I can contact right now," said the dreadlocked lion. "Back in the wasteland, they once worked together to kill a cultivator at the Gang Realm! Since entering the city, they've completed every single mission given to them, eliminating all targets completely. The only drawback is, well..."

"What?" Huang Dahu asked.

“Sometimes they’ll kill their employers too,” the dreadlocked lion said, then quickly added, “Actually, they’re just prone to anger; just don’t provoke them.”

As it spoke, it pushed open the door to the factory building on the second floor.

Immediately, the tiger demon brothers saw another pair of demon brothers inside the factory.

They were two semi-transformed demons, each over two meters tall when standing. They were entirely brownish-red, with extremely developed muscles. Compared to their large bodies, their brains were relatively small. Their heads resembled both rats and deer, with large, black eyes that looked utterly empty.

Both monsters were wearing ill-fitting jumpsuits, one in denim blue and the other in camouflage green. One of them even had a hat askew on its head. Overall, they looked... not very bright.

Huang Dahu looked at them and asked, "Deer?"

Black Tiger, following behind, also speculated, "A kangaroo?"

The monster dressed in camouflage green sauntered up to Black Tiger, then suddenly raised its hand, its right hand gripping a hammer, and slammed it hard on Black Tiger's head.

clang!
This blow was powerful and incredibly fast; if it hit someone, it would instantly blow their head off.

Fortunately, the black tiger was tough; it was only knocked to the ground and let out a mournful howl, "Roar!"

"What are you doing?" Huang Dahu immediately assumed a fighting stance and roared, "Trying to double-cross us?"

The guy in the blue denim shirt opposite him also pulled out something—a large wrench covered in paint—and got into a fighting stance.

"Calm down!" The dreadlocked lion quickly pushed the two monsters away and said to Huang Dahu, "You two, don't talk nonsense. I already told you they're prone to anger!"

"What did I say?" Huang Dahu helped his younger brother up, then asked angrily.

“You…” the camouflage-green monster stammered, “You are the rat, we are… the noble roe deer!”

"Okay, okay," the dreadlocked lion quickly replied. "These two brothers are roe deer demons. They were born in the wilderness and don't have names. You can just call them Big Roe Deer and Little Roe Deer."

Most of the monsters in the wasteland are wild, and even if they develop intelligence, they don't have any concept of naming.

The fact that a tiger demon gang like the Tiger Head Gang can name their members based on color and rank, such as Yellow Tiger and Black Cub, is considered a sign of a highly educated family in the wasteland.

Roughly equivalent to a human PhD.

“Kangaroo is…not a rat, and besides, what’s so noble about a roe deer?” Black Tiger covered his bloodied head and stood up through gritted teeth.

It doesn't speak human language very fluently; it used to speak in short sentences, but this blow forced it to speak in complete sentences.

The roe deer dressed in denim blue was relatively calmer. It put away its wrench and said, "My brother isn't very bright, so please don't take it personally. Back in the wilderness, because we were born roe deer, we were always looked down upon by other monsters, which left us with some kind of mental trauma."

"I've never seen a roe deer cultivate to the level of those two in my life." Seeing that the atmosphere had eased, the dreadlocked lion laughed again: "The two brothers have trained their bodies to be incredibly tough, almost indestructible. They also have a special skill called headbutt, which is truly unstoppable."

"As long as you can fight, that's fine." Huang Dahu said with a stern face. "As long as you can kill my enemy, I can overlook what happened earlier."

“We’ve never missed a kill,” the roe deer said coldly. “We’ve only ever killed more, never less.”

“No need for much,” Huang Dahu said. “You all understand my requirements, right? During the operation, you must follow my orders. The target isn’t stupid. If you are exposed even slightly, he will definitely notify the Supermarket Management Bureau…” Before he could finish speaking, Erpao, dressed in camouflage green, sauntered over to Huang Dahu and suddenly raised his hand.

Another blow!

Although Huang Dahu was already on guard as he saw him approaching, the other party's speed and strength were unexpectedly fast and great. He still couldn't dodge and was knocked to the ground with a clang!
"Agh—" it roared in pain.

"What are you doing?" Black Tiger made a gesture as if he were about to rip out a heart.

"Calm down!" the dreadlocked lion tried to break up the fight again, advising, "I forgot to mention, these two brothers are particularly sensitive to one word. Just hearing that word will immediately trigger them and make them very irritable."

"Not bad!" The big roe deer's eyes were red, but it still restrained itself and pulled the second roe deer back. "I don't blame you for not knowing what happened just now. Just try to be more careful in the future."

"Which word?" Huang Dahu stood up and asked angrily.

The lion dared not speak, but simply said, "Think about it, of course it's that word!"

Black Tiger, standing nearby, guessed, "Could it be... the word 'stupid'? Aren't they always called 'stupid roe deer'? Maybe they've been traumatized? They can't stand being called stupid by others."

After Black Tiger finished speaking, he looked up and saw four scarlet eyes.

“You guessed right.” The roe deer stared straight at it. “Don’t say the word ‘stupid’ in front of us.”

"And you're absolutely forbidden to say the words 'silly roe deer'." Erpao's eyes were icy cold.

"You just said it several times, didn't you?" The roe deer's tone was sinister, like that of a vengeful ghost.

"No." Black Tiger covered his head and backed away. "I didn't mean to call you 'silly roe deer.' I was just stating the facts. Maybe other people always call you 'silly roe deer.' This time, I was wrong. Please, don't do it again! I promise I'll never say 'silly roe deer' again, and I won't say 'silly' anymore! If I say 'silly' again, I'm a stupid dog! Hey... Big brother, save me..."

In this critical situation, its previously labored speech suddenly became fluent, even punctuated by a few rapid-fire remarks.

The two angry roe deer had bloodshot eyes, and their demonic flames shot up several meters high, creating a terrifying aura that shrouded the entire factory in a deathly silence.

Black Tiger felt a wave of despair. It turned to its older brother for help, only to find Huang Dahu and Dreadlocks Lion huddled in a corner, exchanging cigar tips.

“I’m telling you, you have to light this cigar to smoke it,” Huang Dahu said.

"Wow!" The dreadlocked lion gave a thumbs up. "A pro."

"You two, stop acting all detached! Your acting is so fake!" Black Tiger roared. "Do you think I'm a complete fool?"

"You still dare to talk back!" The roe deer raised its wrench high.

“You kept… talking, you just… never stopped!” Erpao wiped the blood off the hammer and raised it again.

Bang bang bang bang!

Clang!

Slap slap slap!

Shiba Lashi!

boom--

Inside the remote factory, muffled sounds of beatings and pitiful screams echoed.

Huang Dahu glanced over there furtively, a look of pity on his face. "When will this fight ever end?"

“We usually stop when they get tired,” the dreadlocked lion clicked his tongue. “I told you they were highly skilled, didn’t I? Look at this surging demonic power. Cultivators below the Gang Realm wouldn’t even be able to break their fur.”

"That's really true."

"I told you, you can rest assured that you can leave it to me."

"Why are you hitting my brother on the head like that? Are you going to make him stupid?"

"Hey! Didn't you say that?"

"No, no, no..."

"I heard it all."

"Shut up, you bastard!"
